I am just taking comfort in the fact that I wasn't useless in other games. That's my saving grace here, because the more I talk, the more I'm making less sense and adding to my own scumminess rating.
Romanic is a bit harder to read, is the point I am trying to make. No offense to Warman, but I think he's sort of flinching here. Maybe you're right about Romanic, but I am more confident on the vote on Warman presently.
That said, I do not think your case is without merit. It's better than anything I have come up with on my own.
Yes yes we know you're scummy, you don't have to rub it in. Warman's rather high on my own suspect list; after breakfast I'll have to do a compare and contrast on the three of you and see what stands out.
I could list reasons why I'm scummy and then do more things that are scummy, and post a picture of an extra-sexy version of Warman and explain that his sexiness is the reason I am voting for him. Would that help? Oh yes, we know what happens when pizza does that.....
I'm just going to embrace the scumminess at this point. It's all I can do.
Vote: Roman
Wikipedia = scum.
Ah fudge it.
I am not on my game this game, and I am going to start embracing that too. Let's try shutting up and following, maybe that will work. Screw my judgment on this one.
unvote, vote: Romanic
+10 more scummypoints for pizza.
Dude, you did that yesterday on Lord of Lent.
I'm going to go with Robbiecon's argument: Vote: JHT
Vote:JHT
Don't vote for me everyone. You be voting for the wrong person.
But I love salad. :laugh4:
You've changed my conclusions though, I said Skooma's claim (well Beefy's ) may be credible, not that he was innocent. And the scum team being complete is also a guess, not an affirmation, based on the dead roles we've seen so far. And of course I didn't draw that 3rd conclusion from your death because I'm pretty sure you were Town, from dying at night.
You make a big deal of my post, but all I was really saying is that the historical roles, implicated in the Pisonian Conspiracy, will probably not be obvious.
It's a close vote, I assume that the round ends at midnight GMT, so I'm going to unvote, there are a few people and suspects on 2, lets see which one cracks first.
Which would have been fine as an opinion, if you hadn't supported your contention with a bunch of marshmallow fluff. It's the fluff that I take exception to. It doesn't hold up the conclusions that you're trying to support on it.
And note that since I am dead and innocent, I get to exaggerate your conclusions ever so slightly in order to make my point. It doesn't alter the case against you, to point that out. "might" and "could be" are not inherently less scummy than "is".
Winston, Atpg -- was Autolycus some form of investigatory role? There was his "now I'm cleared I can speak freely, lynch LoL" post, makes me wonder.
Warman is rubbing me all kinds of wrong given he posted only at night for the first two days of the game, but on day two he wound up tied for the lead. So did AtPG for that matter (and you'd think ATPG of all people could arrange not to wind up in that position). I'm not exactly sold yet on either of them, though.
The Day 2 tally (#113) was wrong: Ironhead voted JHT, not ATPG (see #114, CB is correcting it).
The final tally for Day 2 was
3 johnhughthom (Ironhead, Winston, *hidden vote*)
2 Lord of Lent (autolycus, Renata)
2 Warman (Romanic, Chimpyang)
1 autolycus (ATPG)
1 ATPG (JHT)
1 Beefy (robbiecon)
1 Renata (Lord of Lent)
---
5 not voting (Beefy/Skooma, Secura, Tiberious/JHT2, Warman, Yaropolk)
OK, forget the bit about ATPG, then. However, from the perspectives of JHT, LoL or Warman it would have appeared as if they were in danger of being lynched minus direct knowledge of the hidden vote. Meh, I suppose that vote could be a scum one, though. If so JHT would look really good, Warman really bad -- unless LoL was in fact scum.
Edit: if it's an involuntary tiebreaker (like I had in the Simpsons game) it could only belong to Winston Hughes, since Ironhead was part of the Beefy-voting contingent on day one that ended up in a tie, and there was no hidden vote then.
Winston, if it was you; or if any townie placed that vote voluntarily, I think you should comment about it somehow, in public or private.
JHT was lynched on that day, and turned out to be Otho. The current JHT is Tiberius' replacement, and shouldn't get any Town creds from his previous persona (Tiberius never posted).
If the hidden vote is scum, it would point toward Warman or Lord of Lent being Scum, since that vote saved them from a tie breaker, but we don't know anything about the hidden vote. And afaik it's the only Day we've seen one, but I'm thinking it may not appear unless it's relevant to the final result.
lol marshmallow fluff. I shall use this line and claim it as my own.
Vote: Warman
I am sorry beloved man of war,
You shall murder good Romans nevermore
It can't be a tiebreaker.
It's clearly an extra vote here, "putting him into contention" for the council to decide. JHT, like Warman and Lord of Lent, was considered to have two votes (of course this tally was wrong, but we can make deduction from it. If it was a tiebreaker, JHT wouldn't appear with 2 votes).
*headdesk* I'm an idiot, you're right.
Possible, which is why I brought up the possibility of an involuntary tiebreaker vote like I had in the Simpsons game. But that could only possibly belong to Winston Hughes, no one else. (And he should probably say so if it does.)Quote:

If not him, then I have a hard time rationalizing a hidden vote being placed on JHTv1 over either of the other two players. The tie the previous day wasn't broken, why was this one? If anyone did have a good (town) reason for it, I suggest they find some way to make the fact public (through a proxy or however).
Ironhead voted johnhughthom, not ATPG, on Day 2.
OK, so it clearly wasn't a tiebreaker of any kind (revealed by the original tally mistake) and probably had nothing to do with ATPG -- based on the the real vote count, which the person who placed this vote was probably aware of. The real vote count being, in the absence of the hidden vote, 2 warman, 2 jht, 2 LOL.
Want to go read yesterday again.
Scratch the question about Autolycus; I presume he was the doc.
Which could mean there's still a cop out there somewhere, eh scummers?Quote:
As Night fell Gaius Ofonius Tigellinus (Autolycus) sent out the orders for the Praetorian Guard to protect the houses of certain senators.
Yesterday begins with Ironhead's vote on Warman for his "severed head? Yucky!" comment that kicked off the day. Waaaay overjustified, I do agree, but the vote itself was solid. For his first comment all game that came *during* a voting period, that comment did smack rather a lot of scum.
Warman comes back immediately with an OMGUS (saying Ironhead was suspiciously quick to vote/maybe covering for someone, which is just silly compared to the better argument available about overjustifying. Doesn't help Warman's case).
Warman 1
Ironhead 1
I vote Lord of Lent. Dead Autolycus backs this up. Johnhughthom (v2) says the case is strong. Well I can't argue that too much considering it was my case, but still.
Warman 1
Ironhead 1
LoL 2
Winston votes ATPG. Based on things said today, presumably in large part due to Autolycus just having turned up dead. Secura makes the better argument against Ironhead.
Warman 1
Ironhead 2
LoL 2
ATPG 1
ATPG adds a comment-free vote to the LoL bandwagon, with most of the post consisting of an argument with WH. I still want to know what "what I've said and who I've said it to" refers to.
Warman 1
Ironhead 2
LoL 3
ATPG 1
Romanic says "ok, vote Warman". Romanic -- what was the OK referring to? At least with ATPG there was a clear case he was responding to in voting LoL, but this seems to come out of nowhere.
Scummy Lord of Lent then chimes in to tie it up. I still feel like arguing with him. 'Indeed'? Anyway.
Warman 3
Ironhead 2
LoL 3
ATPG 1
So now it's between the two beneficiaries of the hidden vote from the previous day. And NOBODY has brought that up. How bizarre.
Secura switches comment-free to LoL. Who was scummy enough to deserve it, but still.
Warman 3
Ironhead 1
LoL 4
ATPG 1
I think I'm changing my mind. With LoL's lack of obvious-scum role flip and the evidence of the hidden vote (which hopefully was placed for an actual purpose other than "get the townies to lynch these two guys back to back hardy-har"), plus Warman's behavior, I think it's worth lynching him to day, seeing what happens, and saving Romanic and others for tomorrow.
unvote, vote: Warman
I'm sitting on information, and it's not info that should be discussed publicly, and which gives us a slight advantage, IMO.Quote:

Not that everyone would agree, but hey. I'm a rebel like that.
Why'd you vote him for it?
Round over prepare for write up
Nero strides forward once more with yet another poem to be read.
A little flower grew in a lonely Vale
Its form was lovely but its colours pale.
One standing in the Porches of the Sun
When his Meridian Glories were begun
Leaped from the steps of fire and on the grass
Alighted where this little Flower was.
With hands divine he moved the gentle Sod
And took the Flower up in its native clod
Then planting it upon a Mountain’s brow.
“Tis your own fault if you don’t flourish now."
He looks at the Senators and asks who is to be killed. They rise up with one voice Seneca (Warman) is to be the one that dies. Nero looks at Seneca his boyhood tutor, the man that taught him everything that he knew and says. "If you are involved in this conspiracy I shall say this I know it was you, Seneca. You broke my heart. You broke my heart!" With this Seneca stares back at Nero and says. "I am not involved in this plot whilst I have had misgivings about your reign who am I to kill you? A physician is not angry at the intemperance of a mad patient, nor does he take it ill to be railed at by a man in fever. Just so should a wise man treat all mankind, as a physician does his patient, and look upon them only as sick and extravagant. That is what you are, you are a sick man and you should not be killed but treated with kindness. I am the man who could do that. However due to your anger at me your anger has become an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured. I am a man of great wisdom and respect. All men of Rome should have listened to me and we would not be in such a mess. Nero if you continue to kill soon you will be left with a bunch of yesmen at you beck and call. They will not say a word when the knife comes to you. Head my warning Nero. With this Nero orders to guards to take the noble Seneca and throw him over the rock of Rome.
Warman (Seneca) is dead
With this morbid business done the Senate is opened to new business. A messenger arrives from Britain stating that a revolution has once again sprung up Gaius Suetonius Paulinus (Yaropolk) stands up and turns to Nero asking if he can return to his province. Nero nods saying I am sure of your innocence in these matters you may return.
Gaius Suetonius Paulinus (Yaropolk) has returned to Britain
The extra vote was indeed mine. I was also the one to point out the error to Captain Blackadder, resulting in jht's lynch.
I should also clarify that pizza was not told (by me, at least) that Autolycus was a power role. The gist of what I said was that Auto did not strike me as scummy. However, my feeling is that I rather overplayed the attempt to get pizza's vote off Auto, and thus tipped him to the fact that Auto was somebody important.
Fabulous timing. Why did you place the extra vote?
As night falls one more time over Rome another figure is to die this one is more famous then all the others that came before it. The plotters feel confident that they can strike at will destroying all who question them. In this case they will be shown to be correct. They enter the golden palace of Nero moving quietly in this house of the man that they hate the most. They enter the bedchamber of Nero and move to kill him but just before one of the men moves to stab Nero Piso motions for him to stop and come over to him. They have a quiet conversation in the next room. Piso begins
"Why bother killing Nero now when he has suffered little? We need to make him suffer as he has made the people of Rome suffer." The other plotters nod as comprehension comes over their faces. They return to the room of Nero again pulling out their knives but this time they lean over to the figure sleeping next to Nero and in one quick motion slit her throat. The then write a message in her blood on the wall.
We can get you any time we wish. There is nothing you can do to prevent the return of the republic. Your time is at an end Nero. Prepare yourself for you life will soon run between our hands."
The next morning Nero's fury cannot be contained and he orders 200 Christians killed to improve his mood. This does not help. He strides into the Senate house and tells all gathered there.
We must begin to kill those plotters who wish to destroy the Empire find them now before it is too late.
Poppaea Augusta Sabina (Winston Hughes) is dead
I can see my pleas were ignored.
Unless I get an explanation, I will be forced to vote for you this round. Contact me ASAP, or I will reveal you simply because I do not have a better lead and you're not being cooperative.
So what is this about? A special role who didn't use his power tonight to prove his private claim to you?
It's an unusual circumstance where the person is extremely suspicious, even if they use their power, but at least their power would seem to lend heavy evidence that they are not the main mafia. The request was pretty simple, straightforward, and easy to accomplish. And, it would have even gotten rid of me as a suspect. Instead, I see no cooperation. I'd be inclined to just vote for this person now, but I have a preference for doing things this way when possible.
vote: Romanic
As per Renata's arguments, really; an active player list would be nice though, Cap.
I agree with Secura, a list of the living would be useful.
Vote: Romanic
You are scum.
Bah Renata's case on me is nothing. You're picking on the easy target.
Yesterday we lynched Seneca last night (Warman), according to Wikipedia he was one implicated in the plot, and was executed for it:
I'd be more interested to look at those who didn't vote for him yesterday: Chimpyang, Ironhead, Johnhughthom and robbiecon.Quote:
[...]
After the conspiracy was revealed, Nero ordered Piso and its leaders to commit suicide. The philosopher Seneca, the poet Marcus Annaeus Lucanus, and the satirist Petronius were also implicated in the plot and dealt with in a similar fashion.
[...]
Executed or forced to commit suicide
Piso, Plautius Lateranus, Lucan, Afranius Quintianus, Flavius Scaevinus, Claudius Senecio, Vulcatius Araricus, Julius Augurinus, Munatius Gratus, Marcius Festus, Faenius Rufus, Subrius Flavus, Sulpicius Asper, Maximus Scaurus, Venetus Paulus, Epicharis, Seneca the Younger, Antonia, Marcus Vestinus Atticus
Pizza, you should give us more details about that information you were talking about. Is this person one of those who didn't vote Warman?

Was Warman a bad guy then?
Also, am I the only one who thinks it is suspicious that askthepizzaguy announced yesterday that he had some secret information, and apparently was in touch with some important roles, and yet he wasn't night-killed?
VOTE ASKTHEPIZZAGUY
I am Piso's brother Lucius, not involved in the conspiracy. I also don't know who my brother is, and in-thread attempts to trick this person into contacting me have met with nothing. Secondly, I know of a vigilante (or SK) who has elected not to attack anyone. I have now gotten communication with this person, and the explanation for why not satisfies me. If you must know who this person is this round, I will reveal it, however I would advise against it. We must focus on the conspirators, and having this person alive one more round to actually take a shot at them is necessary in my opinion, especially since I can mark them off as not one of the conspirators, and I can also mark myself off.
In case you're wondering, I volunteered to die for this "vigilante" to demonstrate their power, so I could be removed as a suspect. Romanic was also considered for the attack, but nothing happened.
Vote: Romanic
Also, one of the reasons I announced I had such information was to attempt to get a murder on myself, as I have no powers of my own.
I can believe Warman was guilty. No problem there, he was acting like he cared.
Sorry for the double post; I don't want to edit my vote post.
Please indicate in-thread who you want the vigilante to kill tonight to prove their power and remove a suspect. Consider it a second lynch; I'll reveal who they are before the night phase ends so that information is revealed before my own death.
I would cast my vote for death against Ironhead, because his reason for voting me almost sounded like he expected people would find me guilty after he didn't kill me. Either his scumdar is way off, or he's thinking like a scumbag while trying to put more suspicion on an already suspicious person.
Plus, I've had lots and lots of luck with OMGUS recently. Let's see if the streak will ever end.
Edit: You know, on second thought.... Romanic, I want to know who you are and who you think is guilty. I'd be willing to switch to Ironhead today and vig you tonight instead, but I would need reasons to do so.

Nero strides forward to deliver yet another poem
God prosper long our noble Emperor,
And long may he reign!
Piso he tried to stab him,
But it was all in vain.
For God He turned the blade aside
Piso aimed at his head;
And he felt very angry
Because he didn't stab him dead.
There's a divinity that hedges an Emperor,
And so it does seem,
And my opinion is, it has hedged
Our most gracious ruler.
Piso must be a madman,
Which is obvious to be seen,
Or else he wouldn't have tried to stab
Our most beloved god.
Nero is a good Emperor,
Which all his subjects know,
And for that God has protected him
From all his deadly foes.
He is noble and generous,
His subjects must confess;
There hasn't been his equal
Since the days of good Augustes.
Long may he be spared to roam
Among the bonnie Highland floral,
And spend many a happy day
In the palace of Toral.
Because he is very kind
To the old women there,
And allows them bread, tea, and sugar,
And each one get a share.
And when they know of his coming,
Their hearts feel overjoy'd,
Because, in general, he finds work
For men that's unemploy'd.
And he also gives the gipsies money
While at The Golden Palace, I've been told,
And, mind ye, seldom silver,
But very often gold.
I hope God will protect him
By night and by day,
At home and abroad,
When he's far away.
May He be as a hedge around him,
As he's been all along,
And let him live and die in peace
Is the end of my song.
Nero stands looking at the figure of the man standing before him and smiles a great big smile Gaius Piso you are hearby found guilty of high treason against a living god. Do you have anything to say in your defence
May the gods save Rome for nothing will save the Emperor.
With this Nero motions for the guards to take Piso outside to die a most horrible death that shall be spoken of from not to eternity as a most painful one.
Romanic Gaius Piso is dead
*cackle*
I'm not Piso, I was Julius Caesar, this is all a big mistake!! :laugh4:
Bahhhh! :furious3:
Night Falls once more over Rome and could this be the end of the Empire? One of the figures moves and slinks towards the house of one of the scions of Rome. Lucius Calpurnius Piso Frugi Licinianus (ATPG) known for his long lineage as shown by his name. He is the last direct descendent of one of the ancient rulers of the lands Marcus Crassus. However he is not to live very long. Perhaps it was thought his family connection to Piso meant he was involved we do not know yet tonight he shall die. This figure slinks into his house seeing the masks of all his ancestors he cares not what has to be done has to be done. The figure leans over the bed of Piso and Piso awakens. Piso looks the killer in the face and says "What is done is done. I shall die with honour." With this Piso stands and runs into the sword dieing the way he lived as a Roman.
Piso Frugi Licinianus (ATPG) is dead
Servius Sulpicius Galba returns from his killings happy with the idea that soon the Empire will belong to him. However he is most certainly mistaken on that account. He will never get to take that poisoned chalice for himself. That honour will fall to someone else. Two figures enter his house that night upset at the death of their leader. However this is not necessarily a bad thing Piso was always rather vainglorious and the remaining plotters have a strength of spirit that Piso did not have. The wait until Galba drops the knife to prepare for bed then rush at him with daggers drawn. Time and time again does the daggers fall until Galba the ruler of Spain is dead.
Servius Sulpicius Galba (Secura) is dead

So two more, eh?
Crikey, how wrong were you, Pizza? :P
Basically, this is the final lynch; there's apparantly two conspirators and three town, so get this wrong and it's game over as they'll have a numerical advantage come the next day phase. I'd immediately FoS anyone who doesn't show any interest in winning this game now, since it's so vital you get this right.
The main difficulty now is that there's very little to choose between each candidate because they've either been inactive/lurky or they're all as scummy as each other; you'll have to comb through the thread to route them out...
Well, the first obvious thing is Beefy/Skooma's claim.
The second obvious thing is the two days that Romanic was under pressure. My initial thought is mafia would have been loathe to vote for him on the first day, but may well have on the second. It still needs looking at, though.
Last obvious thing is overall vote/comment records.
Make some votes, peeps! The longer you delay, the scummier you look. Just be prepared to change 'em later.
I think I'd better kick this off then. My suspicions are on the 2 replacements JHT and Skooma. Skooma is either hiding or AFK, but without much to go on from Beefy's post before he was replaced, we can't tell, since the WoG's came soon after, I suspect that the host was loath to swing the balance of the game by WoG'ing mafia roles. JHT is suspicious for also being a replacement, despite Tiberius not posting whatsoever , and I would say is a good candidate for lynch also.
Hence: Vote: Skooma FOS: JHT
Was anyone ever wogged?
Also, if any of you are power roles, now's the time to show your underpants and say what you've been doing.
Yaropolk was technically WoG'd since there was no replacement. Cpt Blackadder als ostated that from that point on, all inactives will be WoG'd. Since there has been no warning given to Skooma, the only way for the host to now Skooma is active is through order PM's. Whether they be power role or not. Since we've lost Autolycus (Doctor/Cop?) and Secura (SK) and Winston (+1 voting), how many more power roles could be fit into this size of game?
Don't ask me, I didn't design it.
