Re: Storm's End
I'm an anti-cult power role. I protect people against conversion, and unconvert converts, but I don't get results unless I failed. Last night I targeted edse. The night before, I was jailed. Before that was Double A. Night 2 was Lazy Mccrow, and Night 1 was Ishmael, as HopAlong said.
I'm going to vote:edse The only night we didn't see a mention of the Rose converting someone was Night 2, the night Ibn blocked him.
-
Re: Storm's End
No mention of converts N2 or 4 (IIRC), suggesting instead that the cult can only convert once every two nights.
Your claim is also internally inconsistent. If you protect from conversion and unconvert recruits and only get results if you fail: what were your results last night?
You targeted edse and didn't get a result saying that you failed. Then you vote for him?
-
Re: Storm's End
You're right about night 4, I missed that. I protected/unconverted edse last night, which means he can't be a convert, but it doesn't mean he couldn't be the original. Since I missed that there wasn't a conversion night 4, I was using the lack of conversion night 2 as a lead.

N4 – Rickinator9
N5 – Ibn-Khaldun

You still haven't said what you do at night, BSmith, but I also think that White_eyes:D's deathtouch is something worth investigating. If a tied vote didn't mean no lynch, I'd vote for you just to keep you in the game. :stare:
-
Re: Storm's End
You're telling me both Ibn-Khaldun and BSmith are roleblockers?
I don't believe that could be true. Ibn-Khaldun, I'd like to hear your results last night. If BSmith's telling the truth, then your action should have been a failure.
-
Re: Storm's End
I blocked you (well, AA anyway) on N3... did you ask Visor if you got any results?
-
Re: Storm's End
It kinda can be true if there's one cult and one mafia. Otherwise the town would surely lose at least one member every night no matter what. But let's see about that result.
-

I asked him earlier, and he said I didn't receive any results.
But then, I don't have a night ability. So we shouldn't expect to see night results for roleblocked players who weren't using an ability anyway.

We could always have BSmith block a potential scummo next night while HopAlongBunny watch-tracks him.

My roleblocks:
N1 - El Barto
N2 - edse
N3 - B-Wing
N4 - autolycus
N5 - Forgot to send my orders.
I never received any results PM's. So, I guess all my actions succeeded.
-
Re: Storm's End
I didn't get any results at all N1 either, didn't know I was roleblocked.
-
Re: Storm's End
I think what has become clear is that if you do not perform a night action, you do not receive notification that you were prevented from performing a night action.
BSmith and Ibn-Khaldun, what specifically are your roles? When you say roleblocker do you prevent all actions, or just specific ones (like murder for instance)?

Once again the garrison could not make up their minds. Stannis clenched his teeth when he heard the news. He clenched his teeth at pretty much everything.

And so they did, the night was dark and full of terrors, but they all survived, to vote another day.

Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
End Day 7
Stannis decided on ceremony today. He had two blocks brought out. Today, the traitors would get their just desserts. Treason was treason, and the punishment was death. To the garrison's surprise both White_Eyes:D and SalmonSoil were brought to the blocks.
"You may be wondering why I brought both of them here. I hope to show the rest of you what happens to traitors. We have held Storm's End for far too long to give in to treason." he turned to look at the two men, one with a resigned look on his face, the other with a grimace. "Last words?"
SalmonSoil spoke up. "You kept me prisoner, if you didn't expect this you're as stupid as you are ugly." he spat at the ground as the headsman cracked his face with the butt of the axe.
White_Eyes:D however had a things of far bigger importance to say. "You may think that you have won today. Yes, we conspired against you. Not for your death, we never had a hand in it, but for the safety of the realm. The tyrells would be good for the storm lords and Storm's End. In any case, you will search our belongings and find nought but paper. We did not kill anyone. I do not own a crossbow, my weapons are my words. You still have real traitors left to catch, for I was never a traitor to my lord. There will be others who seek to destroy you, and only working together will allow you to be free of the traitors." He stared at a certain member of the audience. "I bid you good luck, I have said all I can, may my deeds speak louder then my words."
He bowed his head into the block, whilst the headman forced Salmon's into his. Stannis frowned. "No. There is no need to waste good meat. Throw them into the dungeon. These traitors may serve us yet."
Tally:
3 WE (El Barto, SalmonSoil, Chaotix)
6 SalmonSoil (edse, hab, gsc, ik, bsmith, auto)

Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
Based on the information we have here in this thread then
autolycus - Can't be the killer since he was blocked N4 by me. Don't know about the cult.
edse - The same.
El Barto - Can't be the killer and he can't be the original cult "leader" since he was blocked by me on N1.
Chaotix (Double A) - Was blocked by BSmith on N3 so the above applies here as well.
BSmith - Role blocker?
Gaius Scribonius Curio - Haven't been blocked.. so he could be part of cult or he could be the killer.
HopAlongBunny - Tracker ?
So, the most likely mafia/cult (is there any cult left?!) are GSC and autolycus ?!?
-
Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
Why're we always assuming that there's only one strating cultist? For starters, Chaotix/AA did a far scummier thing, namely, his absurd vote change trying to bring about a No Lynch scenario, which would've saved the two Cultists (hadn't Stannis decided to kill both). I'd place him as scummier than GSC and auto.

If you look at the first couple write-ups and this one, I'm pretty sure "The Rose" (White_Eyes) was the original cult "leader". I think we do have one cult member left,
I used my ability on edse on night 4, and there hasn't been a conversion since then, so he's not a cult convert.
Curio tried to cast a vote yesterday that would have lynched White_Eyes, so I'm 90% sure he's not cult.
Top suspects for cult for me at this point are El Barto and Chaotix, because they weren't on White_Eyes on Day 5 and aren't cleared by my ability. I'm dosing El Barto tonight, so unless I've misunderstood my role ability, he'll be non-cult by tomorrow if no one blocks me.
Priority now needs to be finding the killer. Top suspect for that seems to me to be GSC. Our roleblockers have proven their ability, HopAlong saw actions that we know were taken by a number of people, and edse, El Barto, and I have all been blocked. Unless the killer is able to ignore role-blocks or can kill and do something else, it seems to me like it has to be GSC.
-
Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
Unless I am very much mistaken HopAlongBunny scanned me doing nothing on the night Rickinator was killed (N5). Ditto El Barto with B-Wing (N4), so I'm not really sure.
Chaotix's action seems most incriminating to me, and the continued survival of the cult doesn't necessarily work against the 'killer'.
More thoughts later...
-
Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
HopAlongBunny scanned you not visiting anyone.. That doesn't mean you weren't killing anyone. HopAlongBunny may have the ability to track if someone uses their abilities on someone else but there is the possibility he does not track the killer. It seems that his role was to find out cult members not the killer.
You are still on my list of suspects..
-
Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
End Night 7
HopAlongBunny was fond of animals. He loved rabbits especially, the cute fluffy things with big ears. So when he saw one hopping along in the dark near the castle gardens, he couldnt resist. He could have a pet of his own, and he could hide it in his bunk, there was no-one to see it with the siege going on. He crept towards the bunny as stood up and sniffed the air. It bolted and the his face dropped. Not just from the bunny escaping, but from the crossbow bolt in the chest. He collapsed and breathed his last, as he wished his bunny to escape from his killer. He heard a curse as the thwang of the crossbow hit stone and smiled as his eyes closed for the final time.
Summary: HopAlongBunny was killed!

Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
Quick thought for the evening: someone is lying.
Autolycus - Anticult (Not Roleblocked)
Edse - Blocked N2 (I-K)
El Barto - Blocked N1 (I-K)
Chaotix - Blocked N3 (BSmith)
Ibn-Khaldun - Blocked N5 (Bsmith)
Bsmith -(Not Roleblocked)
Curio - Stannis
Intuitive suspect: Autolycus, but I'd like to hear from others before jumping to hasty conclusions: we have 48 hours after all, we should get this right...
-

I was blocked night 4, I think by I-K, but I could be wrong. Also, I was tracked on night 1 to Ishmael, who didn't die.

Lynching me now would be a mistake.
There's clearly at least one mafia killer, and I am not him. There are 7 people left and thus 3 lynches left if one mafia, 2 lynches left if two mafia.
You don't want to waste one of those lynches on me. I'm not a threat.
-
Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
Interestingly, you still do not deny the accusations, neither do you even bother to explain why you tried to bring about a no lynch.
Once again, J'accuse!
-
Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
Updated
El Barto - Blocked N1 (I-K); Tracked N4 (no action)
Edse - Blocked N2 (I-K)
Autolycus - Blocked N4 (I-K); Tracked N1 (visited Ishmael)
Curio - Blocked N7 (I-K); Tracked N5 (no action)
Chaotix - Blocked N3 (BSmith)
Ibn-Khaldun - Blocked N5 (Bsmith)
Bsmith -(Not Roleblocked)
Thoughts: we know that the killer has been present every evening, and has not missed a kill. Logically that would rule out everyone who has been roleblocked. However, that leaves us with one person: BSmith, one of those roleblockers. We have confirmation that Ibn-Khaldun's ability works: speaking of N4 Autolycus explictly said:

Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
Ah, you're admitting you're scum. You die, Monsieur Chatoix!
-
Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
There must be something wrong about the blocks. Either a block or two failed or one of the blockers is lying.
Ibn-Khaldun
N1 - El Barto
N2 - edse Tracked
N3 - B-Wing
N4 - autolycus Confirmed?
N5 - Forgot to send orders when blocked by BSmith
N7 - Curio
BSmith
N1 – B-Wing
N2 – Darth Feather
N3 – Chaotix Tracked
N4 – Rickinator9
N5 – Ibn-Khaldun
If BSmith is lying, he's only covering for Chaotix at the moment. He was, however, tracked visiting Chaotix. If we consider a failed block, this is the most likely one.
Ibn-Khaldun on the other hand give two (three) possible covers, El Barto, autolycus (and Curio that claims Stannis who at least I regarded to be an NPC, do you have anything to support your claim?). There is no proof for either blocks so a mafia consisting of Ibn-Khaldun as a blocker and El Barto or autolycus as the killer is very possible.
All this together with Chaotix trick yesterday makes me Vote: Chaotix.
-
Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
Not sure whether the rules stretch to quoting PMs, but I can make the point, who were the guards (Ishmael and Rickinator) guarding otherwise? If you examine the writeup for the missing night and the execution of White Eyes, you will find that Stannis is directly responsible for both...
-
Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
And a tally
2 Chaotix: El Barto, edse
5 No Vote: autolycus, Ibn-Khaldun, Chaotix, BSmith, Curio

Okay, I just felt the actions were too powerful for a player to have control of so assumed they were game mechanics.

Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]

I am the master at arms. I keep my targets busy by practicing with them for the coming Tyrell onslaught. That action also grants my vote. vote: Chaotix

Listen to me. I can't kill. I can't convert. I am the last of my kind.
You know I wasn't killing last night because apparently BSmith blocked me. Yet somebody still died.
Don't lynch me. There is a mafia family or a serial killer that is still alive. You have 3 lynches or less to catch him. Lynching me would be a waste, especially when you could force the mafia to kill me instead. I am nothing but a distraction, and you're playing into their hands.
Hell, you could even get autolycus to de-convert me or something, if he's really capable of that. I sure as hell ain't winning as a cultist.
For now, vote: Ibn-Khaldun. I was getting a scum vibe from him even before I was converted.

You do realise that we can't take it for granted that you can't convert, and that thus we get one roleblocker permanently assigned to you until you die?
Now, what's this about a scum vibe from Ibn-Khaldun who, strangely enough, is a roleblocker?

Nothing concrete. Just scum vibes from the way he's been playing. Very careful and not taking any risks, etc. At the same time there is already another roleblocker (BSmith) and I find it hard to believe there are two town-aligned roleblockers in this game.
If you won't believe that I can't convert, I don't know what else to tell you. You already killed "The Rose", he was the cult leader and the only one who could convert. If you de-convert me successfully, you won't even have to worry about it.
Regardless, I am arguing that it is a bad idea to lynch me today, because you still need to catch the mafia and you're running out of time. Let me live, and I am an extra meatshield that they'll have to get through first.
-
Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
I'm not willing to exchange the killing of an antitown player of no value except as 'meatshield' for the killing of a town power role on whom you have nothign but a 'vibe'. At best you might secure a no lynch, though how you'll do that is currently beyond me.

Unvote, Vote: El Barto
You're not this stupid, Barto. That means your being deliberately obtuse. Probably mafia.
I never said you had to lynch Ibn-Khaldun. He was merely the best I could come up with at the moment. I haven't done much analysis, and I don't plan on it.

I'm no longer addressing El Barto. I'm addressing the rest of the town.
If you believe what I told you, it's idiotic to think I'm a good lynch. If you lynch me and the town loses, you deserve it.
If you just don't believe me... well, that's your call.
But here's what I'm telling you:
-I can't hurt you. I have no night kill ability.
-I can't make the cult any stronger. I cannot convert.
-I am the last cultist.
You can lynch me at any time. Or you can try to de-convert me. I won't stop you. Point is, I am a known quantity.
I just don't understand why you would continue to vote for me when there is clearly another mafia faction that is infinitely more dangerous to you than I am. You only have three lynches left. You have to make them count, because the scum are going to keep killing. If you let me live, that is one more lynch you can use to try to catch scum, and one more person that the scum have to kill.
If you decide to let me live, the scum will probably realize they have to kill me, and they will try to do that. I'll be killed instead of townies.
Make your choice. I've lost this game as a cultist no matter what. That happened as soon as I made my move last phase and both of my teammates got lynched. My only hope for winning is that I get de-converted, if that's possible. autolycus says it is; otherwise I wouldn't have even bothered with this nonsense and just accepted my death. But if I can be a townie, I can still win. And I can be of use to the town. That's what I'm going for here.

Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
Vote: El Barto
I actually agree with Chaotix. Conversions have shown up in thread before, so I don't think he converted anyone last night. I'll hit him tonight, and we'll be good on the cult front.
Why El Barto?
One of our blockers is lying or failed. The only case that makes sense if they're lying is El Barto and I-K in collaboration, with night 1 being a lie to clear El Barto. If El Barto comes up clean, we know a block failed, and can work from there.

Re: Storm's End [IN PLAY]
Just to be clear, I'm not saying I-K is scum, just that the only two person team that makes sense as far as I can tell is those two, so lynching El Barto removes both that possibility and El Barto as an SK immune to blocks.
edse, El Barto, have either of you made claims to abilities that I'm forgetting?
