Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
I've got 1.1 and 1.2, and it works fine. I made sure to install the 1.2 trivial script in a different location than the 1.1 ts. If you didn't do this the EB shortcut would probably just go to the most recently installed version. If you can reinstall the 1.1 shortcuts, you should be good.

I have them installed in completely different paths. That is, I have one RTW install for 1.2 (actually, I have 2) and one for 1.1 (actually, that's two as well :sweatdrop:). That works flawlessly (but it takes some space as well).

yeah i reinstalled R;TW to install 1.2, I think it's got something to do with there only being one trivial script

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Okay, okay, okay.
I finally managed to get WotB working again, so I'm back. TCV, prepare for some arguments in the Council Room >: |
Also, you might want to reset the faction heir, as it now shows me. Not that I'm complaining.

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Hax, I hope you know that you lost your Satrapy?
It was IC decision and not OOC one so I hope you don't be that upset and will discuss over it in the Council.

I saw it, I can't say I'm too surprised though :P Actually, I never read an IC discussion concerning why I should lose it in the first place, but I can guess the reasons.
EDIT: Never mind, I found the post.

Thanks for telling me, but I already know. I left the save before I announced the heir and since I could not remove the choice of heir completely, so I just left it at whomever was automatically "chosen". It should be considered that no one is as of yet assigned in game. IC it of course is.

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Alright then! No problem.

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Finally I had time to work with the next Event.
Perhaps I must explain why I created this Event. There are many avatars who have all of their 8 ancillary slots already taken and this Event will help them get some open slots. I know I had this problem with Antiochos.

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Hey, I-K, that's a great idea  . Quick question, can the "slave trader" be used to "buy and sell" ancillaries to other characters? 'Cause if so, I have a turncoat Eleutheroi that Phormion (IIRC), could probably use on his anti-rebel patrol.

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
:wall:
I forgot to add that part! Stupid me! :wall::beam:
I will add this to the Event Rules as well. Thank you Merlinus:bow:

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
hey all, just wanted to let everyone know that if they have freetime while there not playing WoTB, they should come and join up with BtSH as well. Its my own rpg based of this game only with Roma but it will be familiar and easy to get a hold of. Were in our 2nd year and are expanding to Rhegion and could use some more people to make things creative! Thanks for anyone who signs up.

They will arrive as fast as they can. How long that is I don't know, but I can check when I take the save.

Of course.

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Great idea, I-K, I've just picked up a command star when I face the rebels.:laugh4:

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Thank you.
Since in RTW we can't actually remove ancillaries like we can do in M2TW then this Event was necessary.
This Event should help us to fulfill Rule 2.3 that we couldn't do it before.
Quote:
2.3 Retinue
At any time, a Player may give any retinue item/member they possess to another Player or remove it from their avatar without giving it to anyone else.
If a retinue item/member cannot be transferred or removed due to game coding or distance between avatars, console commands may be used to allow the transfer or removal.

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Hey guys, is there anyway to install the WotB on EB 1.1 whilst still being able to play the original campain so the Selucids don't have the RGB? If not then I will just play as the Arche.
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
If you download the WotB mod then original edu and edb files are included. So what you must do is to replace the WotB edu and edb files with EB edu and edb files.
edu - export_descr_units.txt
edb - export_descr_buildings.txt
-
Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Cool, thanks, like in EB 1.0 where you had to chnage EDU's to get the custom battle units properly.

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
This may have been answered before, and if it has I'm sorry
I downloaded EB 1.1 recently-- what an amazing mod! Anyways, I added on a special minimod pack yesterday which includes these updates:
Quote:
# AI Battle Formation Mods* ; by --Darth Vader ---Marcus Camillus from RTR Platinum ---Snake_IV from the old RTR forums for the Battle Formation Buttons for the user interface. And special thanks to Lysander13 for the compilation
# Spoils of Victory for EB 1.1; by V.T. Marvin
# Some trait changes (command stars & cursus honorum) by konny and special thanks to Medical Toaster for making a 1.1 version.
# Win Conditions; originally by JRMC and special thanks to konny for making a new 1.1 version
# Roman Allied Legions; by konny
# City mod version a ; by MarcusAureliusAntonius
# Fanatic’s First Cohort/Phalanx/Elephant/Chariot minimod; by TW fanatic
# Aquilifer unit; by lt1956, creator of the SPQR mod
# Force Diplomacy Minimod; by DimeBagHo , update byJarardo
# Darth Stalin's 1.1 Romani Fix with "corrected" Gallic Helm
Is there a way for me to join WotB with this? Can I get rid of the minimod pack, or place the wotb modpack over this one? I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this, so all the help I can get is greatly appreciated!

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
No, unfortunatelly you can't. The best way to play WotB is to just download another EB and then download WotB mod into the new EB folder.

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Thanks for the answer! I'll do that shortly

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
Sorry for the double post:
I realized I messed up on one of the other backup files so I'm wondering-- can I just go to control panel > add/remove programs and just erase all traces of EB and then re-install EB over the same folder?

Yes, that should work fine.

Re: OOC Thread and Chatroom
A few more questions:
What does the WotB minimod add on to the original EB? This won't dramatically change the game so that it's less fun if I want to start my own campaign, right?
Also, when you say the players have 24 hours to make their turns-- does this mean each player will take the save file one by one and do their thing or does everybody take the original save file and it somehow comes together after everybody has re-submitted it and the chancellor advances. I'm new to this whole pbm thing so bear with these questions :)

Besides the fixes and giving the possibility to recruit generals, I don't quite remember. In any case, you can play EB vanilla even after installing WotB. You do this by, before installing WotB, copying the whole Rome - Total War folder so that you've got two installations of EB. Then you install WotB on one of them, and you've got both a clean EB setup and one for WotB.
It's the easiest and best way, but it takes some space.

This is a common question from new players and I've answere it before, but I'm happy to do it again.
Imagine that there's a group of people sitting in a ring on the floor. One of them has a sheath of paper and a pencil. He is called the Chancellor, and he writes his name on the paper, and sends it around to the guy to his left, who writes his name on it and then sends it to the guy on his left, and so on until the paper is back with the Chancellor again. He then puts away that paper, takes a new one, writes his name on it and the whole thing starts all over again.
That's basically how it works here. When the Chancellor (currently, that's me) hands out a save, someone else - let's call this guy Il_Duce - takes it, and lets everyone else know that he has it by announcing it in the Basileus' and Chancellors Reports thread. When he has done what he wanted to do, he saves the game, packs it in .rar and uploads it. He makes a new post giving the link to his save, and says what he did. Then the next guy takes the save that Il_Duce uploaded, does his things, then uploads the save in the same way. This goes on until the Chancellor takes the save again, does his things and finally ends the turn. He then saves the game, writes up a Chancellor Report and hands out the new save and it starts over from the beginning.

Thanks for the explanations... that's kind of what I figured.
One final noob question: How in the heck do you edit your posts here? I'm so used to twcenter and I can't find the button.

You have to be a member before you can edit your posts.
