Since this is the chatty thread, something I've noticed in the screenshots to date: more skin. By which I mean there seems to be a lot more detail in the M2:TW graphical engine of naked flesh (like musculature), and thusly there seems to be more units taking advantage of that. Even where it's just bare arms and legs. Is that conscious decision on the part of the team to take advantage of it?
I can see what you are getting at but it's simpler than that. Even from the outset, EB 1 was clearly developed with some technical limits in mind. For instance almost none of the EB 1 skins use the full resolution that RTW is capable of because early on in the design of EB 1 it was considered too heavy for graphics hardware to handle. Also, in EB 1 units were often portrayed on the decidedly higher end of the spectrum, compared to EB 2.
Additionally, the M2TW further increases resolution over RTW, allows for unit variation, has a much improved lighting system and contains provisions for other visual goodness. Taking these all into account it is small wonder why the skins of a mod that always was about painstaking attention to detail now look even more a visual celebration of little touches and details and quirks.
So in short: it's a whole range of graphics upgrades combined to create something awesome in every respect, rather than a central decision by the team to focus on particular details.

Finished two spearman units for the sweboz, their late period counterparts. ~Tux
I think Asterix is a great homage to the Gauls, they had magic potion, he had magic potion, they had a solider called Obelix, Asterix had a friend called Obelix, 100% historical accuracy...Quote:
Action Comics #579 published in 1986 featuring Superman is a fun homage to Asterix and his wacky Gauls. - abou
I meant that tongue in cheek  :-P

Very nice screen... It looks almost to realistic :D
boii vs. dacii?
Are those the old horses? Just asking because their legs appear very short in the pic, more like a steppe pony.
My thanks to the team for my new Wallpaper :D
Wow, does that mean we'll see a 3rd Boii preview soon? :beam:
I'm still waiting for that Arabian Preview (and Minaean faction confirmation...).
EXCELLENT screenshot!
I'll have to dissapoint yu but the Ma'in aren't in. To loose a federation and with relatively little militaristic action and force. Mostly seems to have been an economic force. Also we don't exactly know that much about them (yet).
won't happen. of course, Moros beat me to it.
whether there will be a new Arabian faction? I can't tell you.
but in the (unlikely) event that there is anew Arabian faction, it will more likely be a northern one, not a southern one. mostly because they are well documented (comparatively), and were later hellenized. my money, in that event, would be on the Nabateans.
Beyond cool.Quote:
this really does look like a sweboz preview is comeing up
Some of those crazy buggers aren't even wearing tunics, never mind cloaks. Must be freezing out there.
Is it possible to get frostbite on your bits?
Yes. Put your computer in the middle of the Antarctic during winter, then come back in summer and see what frostbite did to your bits.
Haha.~:)

Seems stupid imageshack resized the pics so I'll post two more to make things equal(pixel wise):

Hahaha Tux, don´t spoil them! :beam:
They haven´t done anything to earn those images.
ummm - we're here, awaiting your :smash:ing work. Nice shots!
I want to see the Sweboz guys with the clubs! They embody the true Sweboz spirit. Why wound your enemy with a sword when you can smash his head to pieces and splatter his brains all over the place? Keep up the hard work!
