Maybe you can just dig a channel through it somewhere?
Apologies, there was an issue with my router's port forwarding. The server should be available again now.
Very nice. I can see my village outline. Need to plan out the bazaar.
I see I need a lot more torches to light up my island. Damn...
At least the base for my monastery looks good.
please add me to whitelist my minecraft name is tudor898 thx
Anyone having server issues? The maid hasn't struck in a while.
No prob.
Had some fun working on the new village last night. Working on my first sewer system. So far the manor house has a fully functioning washroom. Unfortunately the future village is around sea level and won't drain properly. Good news is that I found a good use for all that mossy cobblestone I've been stockpiling.
You have a new village? Or is it the same one? Don't worry, at this stage, I won't invade.
By the way, I have completed my monastery. All I need is a couple of stacks of wool for the walls. I guess I'll head back to my old house.
EDIT: How is sandstone as a building material? It's blast resistance is pathetic, and I don't want to use End Stone again.
I have mixed thoughts about this but ultimately support it because it's difficult to pass the night with other players on the server.
No worries. Check the desert. Use cave view to look at the sewers. I'm building upon what I learned in my first.
Also: Sandstone is an excellent building material, but expensive. Sewers and basements are ways I legitimately go about collecting it.
I weighed it for a while as well, but I eventually decided that creeper damage to blocks is just annoying. The server exists to allow people to build interesting things, and unintentional destruction of those things is just a pain in the butt and doesn't really contribute to anyone's enjoyment.
I am considering increasing the difficultly level though. We're currently set on easy, and I'm thinking that we could handle normal, which basically means that mobs would do a bit more damage and cave spiders would poison players.
I've seen a tutorial for a smooth stone generator as well, though it's not quite as useful because it requires a silk touch pickaxe... and stone isn't exactly hard to find. Still, an interesting contraption. I didn't know it was even possible to make smooth stone before I saw this.

I found a weird glitch. I can make a tower of diamond blocks. So in essence, I am an alchemist... Not really. I'll explain.
In my quest to find an infinite dirt source, I made a dirt generator (which, unsurprisingly, doesn't work.). So, I was curious, and decided to see if I could generate emerald blocks with this contraption. And it worked. Except the emeralds cannot be mined, only the original one. So a faux tower of diamonds can be made.
I could post a video to show how I did it, if you guys want me to.
I think I know what you're talking about. After 1.3, my 3x3 doors started to 'duplicate' the stone blocks that make up the door. However, the duplication is only visible, and the blocks do not drop anything when they are broken. I'm pretty sure it's yet another 1.3 glitch.
Whoa. My monastery looks bigger than I thought (that's what she said).
It's amazing what you can do when you focus on a specific task. Finished most of my wall today and I think it looks great. Working on towers now. Gates next. I love the bit of color in the bazaar.
Are placed leaf blocks supposed to disappear? It appears to have changed between different versions. I also thought that TreeAssist might be causing issues with leaves. I've noticed that sometimes birch and spruce leaves decay into oak saplings. Could that be an issue with TreeAssist?
No, placed leaves shouldn't disappear. It's probably TreeAssist at work, as there's a feature of it that accelerates leaf disappearance when trees are cut down, for convenience. I don't think it's supposed to impact placed leaves, but if that's happening that's almost certainly the cause. I'll investigate this evening and disable that part of the mod if it's the cause.
[edit] Under what circumstances are they disappearing? I just did some tests and none of the leaf blocks I placed disappeared.
