Hungarian crusade has taken Rome. We hope the Vatican city will soon be returned to the church.

When ceasefire was made between HRE, France and Hungary it was made with the hopes of bringing lasting peace into central Europe so that commerce would start again and all would benefit from it. However the actions of the Emperor have proved that HRE has no desire to make a lasting peace. When the peace was signed the Emperor told us he wants free passage through French and Hungarian lands to Hamburg. Passage was given and the Emperor assured us that he will avoid the cities.
However through later actions Emperor’s intentions were truly shown. First the Emperor attacked Venetian crusading army despite the fact that it was no threat to him. Then another HRE army, which was supposed to be retreating from Hamburg to meet with the Emperor, has attacked and taken Frankfurt. Also a third HRE army was found near Rome where it settled a camp outside Rome’s walls.
In the meantime the Emperor remained in Austria near Salzburg and instead of advancing towards Hamburg he rather decided to strengthen his position there by setting another HRE army next to him and thus pretty much violating every part of the agreement made.
Emperors intentions were made clear: to prevent a Crusade from ever succeeding, even at the cost of war, and doing as much damage to France and Hungary with the remaining forces.
The French and Hungarian King have realised that there is no telling what the mad Emperor will do next so it can be said that the Emperor has succeeded in his attempt to start a war.
First a French expedition was send to take HRE’s island of Corsica and prevent any possible attacks from there into French lands in Italy. Then all the forces that were near Frankfurt have been gathered to besiege and trap the HRE army inside those walls.
In the meantime the Hungarian army on a holy quest to regain the capitol of Christianity – Rome, has landed in Italy and met with the army of Hungarian heir that was waiting. When scouts reported that Rome was being reinforced with the army of HRE a bold plan was made. In the cover of the night the 2 armies approached Rome from the side that was furthest from HRE army and stormed the gates of Rome. With the help of siege equipment the gates quickly fell and both armies stormed into the city, killing the Muslim infidels that were still trying to suit up for a fight. As soon as the defenders surrendered the armies marched through the city to the place where HRE camp was set. The HRE soldiers – unaware of what has happened – were caught in their sleep. Soldiers that were awaken by the screams of their dying countrymen quickly fled the field together with their cowardly general – HRE heir. Rome has been liberated from the enemies of Christianity but many good people have paid for it with their lives.
Now that Rome itself was secured it was time to also secure the surroundings. Another Moorish army was settled in the hills near Rome and had to be dealt with, since they presented an immediate threat. After a day of patching wounds, removing the corpses and regenerating their strength the armies moved out to meet the Moorish army. They found it in a fortification on one of the hills. The Hungarian generals stormed the fort from two sides. Moorish army, without any proper general, was disorganised and made little resistance. Soon the fort fell too and thus Roman province has been secured.
In the southern part of Italy near Naples the Hungarian King also joined the expedition against Moors with the burning desire to free Naples and remove the Moorish filth from Italy. He realised that would be a difficult task to take on by himself so he send an emmisary to Bari to request for reinforcements. In order to bring reinforcements to Naples, the fort that was guarding the passage to the city had to be taken first. With the help of spies inside the fort the gates were opened for our units to quickly take it. After fort was secured the army continued it’s march towards the city with the cavalry send forward to scout the surrounding of the city.
In the northern part of Naples the King’s army was crossing the hills towards the city when on their surprise they encountered the army of HRE heir that was still retreating from the defeat at Rome. The King took the initiative and quickly routed the army again before they had the time to organize. After that easy victory the troops were inspired and eager to defeat the Moors too so they continued to march over the night to meet up with the reinforcements that were already near Naples. Just as they were closing to the city in the morning they found the Moorish army that left the safety of the city walls in order to catch the skirmish cavalry forces. Such a simple trick lured out an entire Moorish army. The King saw the opportunity and so did his soldiers. They charged into the army. Moorish soldiers that were expecting an easy victory against the skirmish units were taken by surprise by the Hungarian army. In the heat of the battle the infantry part of the army from Bari finally reached the city too and flanked the Moorish army. The formation broke and Moorish soldiers retreated to the city. Many were killed during the retreat. The victory bolstered the morale of the King’s soldiers but the march through the night and the fight in the morning wore them out too much so the King decided that it would be better to rest before storming the city itself. Moorish soldiers that managed to retreat to the city now await the next move of our King with fear in their hearts.
The HRE armies in Austrian hills had to be dealt with too to ensure the safety of Hungarian people. Such an important task could only be trusted to the most experienced generals and no man was more suited for the job than Vata the Conqueror. In the cover of the night he approached the Emperor’s camp first and took out his soldiers in their sleep. Before the neighbouring camp realised what was happening they were stormed too. Both armies have been defeated with minimal loses. What was left of those armies retreated into the heart of Germany where French are waiting for them.
But major victories were not only achieved on land but on sea as well. The Moorish navy patrolling the sea near Ragusa was taken out by Hungarian navy. After that was done the navy sailed towards Italy to reinforce their brothers at sea in the fight against the HRE navy. A glorious victory has been achieved there too.
With such glorious victories all over Hungarian kingdom men have celebrated and named this year as the Year of Wonders.
PS. The defeated armies cannot be moved next turn, including the Moorish army in Naples.

The Sultan of Iran is upset about that happened to the King of Hungary, his old friend. Thing like this happens when war happens. The Sultan would be pleased if the rest of the world could stop killing each other.

Hey guys, it turns out I broke a rule with the spies. I posted the pic of them getting in last turn, but this turn their odds weren't 60% anymore, therefore I played my turn again and here's a fixed save (where Bari is still Hungarian, but Rome is Moorish)
