Re: HAIL New Members! (Introduction) v.III
Hello everyone!
After a long time of lurking I decided to sign up here. I like the friendly atmosphere at this forum. It is rare to see a board with so little trolling.
Other than that, there isn't much to tell. Labrats aren't very interesting creatures, anyway.
Cheers,
Labrat

Re: HAIL New Members! (Introduction) v.III
After reading the FAQ, because I was disappointed that I couldn't post anywherer I wanted to, I though I start off by saying Hello to everyone around here.
I'm a major lurker since the days on M:TW and the only reason I didn't play S:TW was because I couldn't beat the demo and figured that I would suck at the main game too.
I have recently joined during the recent M2TW mania to get some information over to the .org after posting different stuff at the .com and at twcenter.net.
Ituralde is also my username, so no coincidence there.
Well guess that's all!
Cheers!

Re: HAIL New Members! (Introduction) v.III
Hello everyone, I registered some time ago but haven't got around to posting..yet. I like the poster above was a bit put off by the registration process in that I couldn't post advice on the Colloseum!
I'm 29, live in deepest Warwickshire and am another Brit. I recently lost my job (booo!) but got a nice settlement (yay!). So I have plenty of time to get back into Total War and specifically Alexander with the excellent shouty BRIAN "BLESS-SED".
Did I mention I can't post on Colloseum eh? ;) I'll buy the mods dinner and everything honest, esp. froggy hor her sterling work on the RTW guide.
Hoping for some higher privileges...
Love and kisses
xx

Hi, I am a history geek from New Zealand. I have only just signed up though I have been cruising these forums for a while.
I have recently joined the modding crew for HesbolĂȘ es tĂȘn Hellada - Invasion of Hellas which is the first real mod I have ever worked on, I am probably going to be visiting the forums regularly from now on.
I also play trumpet in several bands and at the moment I am in the orchestra for the musical version of The Full Monty.

Re: HAIL New Members! (Introduction) v.III
Greetings to senior forum members from your new member Agathon.
At present I own almost all the CA titles from STW to RTW. I have the BI expansion, but have so far not had the time to install it. I think that I would enjoy the Alexander expansion, but I have not yet purchased it.
I have played my first campaign in vanilla RTW over the transition months of winter and spring with the Scipii faction. Victory after what seemed like almost two centuries of struggling in the medium/medium mode enabled me to play with the Seleucid Empire (such as it is in vanilla). As the human Seleucid player, I found myself in the aesthetically unpleasant position of running what practically appeared to be the diminished Seleucid kingdom of 149 B.C. in the very volitile and perilous world of 170. My remedy presented itself in the form of the Extended Greek Mod combined with the very well designed Mundus Magnus map.
Ironically, the mod proved so satisfactory for my personal style of gameplay (and my great admiration for Hellenic civilization), that I have so far failed to return to the Seleucid faction since installing the XGM at the end of May. I found the challenges presented in the mod to the Greek Cities and Macedon too engaging to justify playing with the Seleucids. Most of my saved games directory is dedicated to saves of my greek cities xgm campaigns which is only now entering the 240's B.C.. My Macedoniam campaign was last saved at the winter of 254. In both campaigns,
I prefer the medium strategy level with battles set to hard. Experience has shown me that every victory gained at the "extra hard" level is accompanied by unusually high casualties. This tends in my opinion to make the even "easy" strategy level difficult to manage for smaller playable factions like the Greek Cities and Macedon.
Another reason for my choice of these factions is my interest in the "exotic" units presented for the greek factions in the XGM. Hypaspists (the actual greek answer to hastati), look great dressing the flanks of an 8-cohort phalanx, and the Macedonian cavalry is superb. Sadly, units like the Greek heavy peltasts, picked Cretan archers, Athenian marine archers, Thessalian cavalry and Macedonian companion cavalry have spoiled me as a player of Roman factions.
I hope that this brief note introduces me to you and also informs you of my experience and preferences in RTW. I am open to receiving your advice, recommendations and even your criticism. Thankyou.

Re: HAIL New Members! (Introduction) v.III
Hey everyone, I've finally bothered to register again and stop lurking around. I had an account here about 3 years ago, but I stopped playing TW games for a while, and my old account has been forgotten. Not a whole lot to say about myself...I've just installed the beta Blue Lotus mod, so I'm about to start a campaign on that right after I post here. Look forward to seeing you all around.

Re: HAIL New Members! (Introduction) v.III
Greetings
I've been playing Total War for about 6 years now in its various incarnations
and have been a reasonably active player of Medieval online over the past year or 2. Have been playing Rome recently and found it great with one exception. The battle map radar. You can't change its size on the screen.
I found this invaluable especially in a large multiplayer game. I don't know if anyone else feels the same way but I'd sure like to discuss the issue.
Cheers to all the great posters
I've been reading for a while
time to contribute

Hello I am Lord_Chivalrous.
I started playing the TW series when I saw a commercial for Rome Total War. I did not know that there where other TW's at the time but haven't bought any of the old ones. I can't wait till MTW2 comes out; it looks fantastic.
