Nice story, Warman.
I've kind of over-estimated the amount of work I would be getting this month so sorry for resigning in the first place. Can I please join as the Takeda again?

Is this IH dead? We have No Chapters, No Sign Of Kage (last post on 9-5-08), and not even update (which only takes 2 minutes to post).
I'm trying to be patient and I understand he must have RL problems,we all do at one point, but how many chapters had we have since March....? :sweatdrop:
About 2 or 3? with 3 months breaks in between? Maybe Someone should do the IH for Kage until he beats the evil enemy named Real Life :clown:
Because there is no sense trying to do a IH if it will take 3 months for a chapter.
Guess it's time to wipe the dust off of my copy of Nobunaga's Ambition: Rise to Power...
That was a good game :-)
Has Kagemusha done this before? If so, I can wait.
Anyway, for all you Sengoku era enthusiasts, I highly recommend NA: Rise to Power as it is the best strategy game based on samurai history. I'm currently playing a Takeda campaign and it is almost 1560, an alliance has been formed between me and the Imagawa (marriage) and the Hojo. Now that I have a secure southside, I can set my sights to the north towards the Uesugi army and its vassals.
Uesugi Kenshin has the highest intelligence stat in the game! It's going to be hard to defeat him, especially since Kawanakajima is coming...
The last long delay was because Kage had internet connection problems - it could well be the same problem. I, for one, would wait to hear from Kage before we read the last rites.

kage san is not the person to let a story like that this way.
I am sure he is working on a big bang to end it - or to go on.
While waiting for him - we could play something else!
Well. He not posting, not responding people's PM's. I mean, if you don't have time to make one simple post, then, that is not good. And If he has internet problems, why didn't he say so in the first place?
I believe Kage is owed some patience from us all, the quality so far has made this the greatest IH i've ever seen/been a part of.
We owe it to kage to wait for him to respond and let us know what is happening, and for people to stop clutching at straws as to the reasons and show some patience
This IH is in a coma. I think we shall prey to the Gods for his recovery...
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
As i said, Kage has been patient with some of us (myself included), so lets be patient for him, he hasnt failed us yet, and when he delivers.. he delivers in style.
Because unlike you warman... for people like myself and kage this forum isn't our life. We have stuff to do outside this forum, and cannot dedicate such time to like you.
Kage has alot of commitments inside and outside the community, as i do (outside, not inside the community)
This game isn't my life. It's just sad that people who always hold up the game (when it is active) are defending the host who is not posting. But it is not a suprise to me.
When I come here, I expect things to be running smoothly. I give it time. It seems like your eyesight is impaired, because I do not have much time as I used to spend on these fourms. I do not have time to always have to check this thread and put up with months long waits and delayers defending a host who can't make a 2 setance long post saying what is going on.
When he was posting here ,He had time for his Mod Ravie, and his little KOTR game or whatever the hell it was, but he didn't have time to post here.....
But Oh Wait Ravie, just like you, he has things outside of this game to do, and unlike a nerd like me, I apparently don't.
I am done checking this thread and wasting my time posting (and getting into a childish debate with you). I will post again once I get word this IH is back up.... Or Dead.
Meh! To be honest these waits do not disturb me greatly, simply because I know that once Kage gets back in the groove it will be worth the wait. Also the greater the wait, the more intricate stratagems I can devise.
Argeed. I don't mean to be a asshole about this, and I really don't got a lot of time Ravie, maybe a little bit more then you, but not much.
I just wish Kage would come back and post update. Maybe someone like to write this chapter for him, then have him write the chapter after, just we have something to talk about?
Kage was dealing with personal issues the last time I talked with him in the chat. So, once he deals with those he'll probably be back.
He's Alive :clown:
Going though RL Problems he is. Hopefully they clear up soon for him
Everyone in this IH still alive? I know I am, Kage is, and me brother is, along with Stephen Asen. :clown:
Is this *gulp* dead? :frown:
Hmm I hope not for you guys, but maybe some other people could give it a shot to formulate a story?
Hojo Ujiyasu is completely drunk and demands that father time advance the flow of time.
Yamana Toyosada wishes to know how much longer this Kagemusha will take. I can not remain drunk forever :clown:
Hojo Ujiyasu apologizes for his dishonorable conduct while drunk and offers to force all 43 of his useless sons to commit seppuku as amends. For his heir, he will adopt the stalwart general Tsunashige Hojo.
The Kanrei thinks even great men make mistakes and as such Hojo Ujiyasu should not harm his sons. Furthermore, he could use the long pause to make (and raise) a few more.
Sign,
Miyoshi Chokei, Kanrei
P.S. Irony aside, Kage... Take your time but just keep us in touch with what is happening with the story... One sentence is more than enough...
How about giving us an update as Christmas gift Kage? We're aching for a battle or two.
Fate of a Daughter
The first rays of the rising sun reached the chamber of the foreign lady. She was having another sleepless night playing go with a maid of hers. Hachiko, the maid, was like her sister as they had been together since childhood. She remembered the happy days in the old Tokushima castle in Awa and how they were playing together. Later, the games slowly stepped back and the responsibilities of the mature life came into place. Their friendship became also more mature and stronger with the years. This was a blessing in the hard times she was destinied to live. For she was Lady Miyoshi Masako, the daughter of the Kanrei Miyoshi Chokei.
She was used to live in her own world behind the massive walls of the Tokushima castle. The maids, her mother, the favourite concubine of Chokei, her half-brother and her sister. This was what she knew. She heard there was a turmoil in Kinai and that his father was fighting for the welfare of their clan and for their own survival. However, three years ago she was called by His Highness the Shogun Ashikaga Yoshiteru in the capital where to witness the nomination of her father as Kanrei. On her way to her new home in Yamashiro she crossed many lands that still bore the chaos that the Hosokawa had left after them. Villagers were extremely poor, there were many brigands in the countryside. Then she clashed with the reality during the war against the Hatakeyama when the Tsutsui laid siege on Kyoto. She saw people dying with the name of the clan on their lips. She saw the hope in the faces of many common people, she also saw skepticism in many others. Then she swore to do her best in order to help her father in his cause. She started reading books about warfare and administrating lands. She also tried to learn more from his brother Yoshioki who always tried to help her. But she never forgot this was not her supposed role in the world of men. She was a woman and she was expected to marry for a suitable party and then to serve her new home loyally. There were many candidates: both from other daimyos and from the retainers of the clan. Yet she little expected to be married exactly to Asakura Yoshikage.
The rumours about the young Asakura daimyo were varying from portraying him as a brave hero and defender of the customs of Nippon to a vicious villain who enjoyed boiling men in cauldrons. In addition she had heard the stories of his family fate that was slaughtered by the traitorous Asai and Oda. Yet she obeyed her father and left for the Mino province by ship. The travel was long and exhausting and the poverty in Owari shocked her even more. She was tired and sick but she was determined to bear her destiny with honour as a real samurai. She also knew that the enemy was already on his way and time mattered. She arrived in the Inabayama castle half-dead of exhaustion and once again her strong will won a victory over her gentle female body. As Kanrei daughter and guest of Saito she did all the ceremonial that was required for the case. She also rejected the polite offer of the Saito daimyo to stay away for the conflict and to leave Inabayama. And finally, she met almost all of the notable Asakura generals and mainly Asakura Kagetaka, the man who captured Owari and killed Shibata Katsuie. She knew he had to do that as a wife of Asakura Yoshikage in these hard times. The biggest surprise was Asakura Yoshikage himself. For her greatest amusement he did not waited for her. Instead he had marched to fight his enemies. The concubines of the Asakura daimyo portrayed him as a gentle lover in bed and real samurai in manners. She also heard the story how the appeasing of the Kaga province and the battles against the Oda had strengthened his will. Of course, rumours could not compensate a personal meeting with the Asakura daimyo. She was used to testing the people around her personally.
“Masako-sama, “ her maid said silently. “ Are you well? Maybe you should go to bed”
“Thank you, Hachiko, I am well” She lied. “It is your turn, “she said as she put the small stone on the board of go . Her maid stared at the go board considering her next move. After a while she stretched her hand that was holding the black stone still hesitating where to put it. Suddenly the silence broke into the roar of hundreds of war drums. Hachiko-san dropped her piece that fell on the board and pushing aside a few white stones. The maid put her hand on her mouth hiding the terror on his face. Masako forced herself to stay calm as nothing was happening. This could have been the moment when her fate was determined but honour mattered more than her life.
The door slightly slid and a samurai entered. Masako immediately recognized Sogo Yoshimichi, the commander of the Miyoshi troops in Inabayama. This mysterious young man seldom appeared in the court but his remarkable skills as warrior were proven in the last battle against the Hatakeyama. She hoped his experience would be useful in this critical moment. He rapidly bowed and Masako nodded at him as a reply. He explained with a voice loud enough to be heard in the noisy drum beats that the situation was unclear but at this moment there was no danger for her life. However, it might be good idea that she went into the secret room for bigger safety. Her nod showed understanding and Sogo Yoshimichi quickly left in order to monitor the situation. Hachiko-san slightly rose but she just realized her mistress was still sitting on the soft cushion before the board of go. The short eye contact between them showed she had a different intention than hiding in the castle. Masako rose and slightly opened the window. She stared at the massive walls of Inabayama and the Saito, Asakura and Miyoshi men preparing to defend the castle if needed. She stared at the horizon and saw black squares maneuvering in the plain around the fortress. Somewhere there behind his samurai and ashigaru was the enemy led by Oda Nobunaga. She was sure his eyes were focused on the donjon. She felt his presence. The daughter of Miyoshi Chokei nervously smiled accepting the challenge of wills. Then she closed the window and retreated into her chamber.
This story is about manouvres of the Oda army and the immediate reaction of the allied garrison forces ready to defend the castle. And of course about Masako... she deserves a line. :pleased:
Waiting (little patience left) for the next chapter! I hope it is already written... :medievalcheers:
