Re: Broken Crescent 2: RoPG (Game thread)
I can get you started...
take each fix seperately, do them in order, one at a time. They are very simple.
If you encounter a step involving map.rwm or something, and you cannot find it, ignore it because you haven't created that file automatically yet.
You are just making minor changes or adding files or overwriting files in your bc folder. Nothing needing an engineering degree, so dont sweat it.

Re: Broken Crescent 2: RoPG (Game thread)
Any idea what the actual official running order for each faction is?
@Askthepizzaguy - I'll pm you my password and my sub preference as soon I play my first turn.

Re: Broken Crescent 2: RoPG (Game thread)
I have absolutely no idea what the turn order is.
I couldn't find where it was to fiddle around with it, and frankly if I did so it would be unfair to whomever has to go last. Watch, it's gonna be me.

Re: Broken Crescent 2: RoPG (Game thread)
At least for vanilla hotseats it's the same order the factions are shown in on the faction selection screen (for player factions, AI factions are tacked onto the end). Adding a player faction after the game starts doesn't seem to change their place in the order, though. They get stuck wherever the AI faction had ended up.

Re: Broken Crescent 2: RoPG (Game thread)
Its odd though, because in this game the Turks went first, and in the last, Rome went first. And Rome is before Turkey on the faction selection list.
-
Re: Broken Crescent 2: RoPG (Game thread)
The Turks were added in after the game started in the other game.
In the GCH2 and other hotseats the order matches election screen, but apparently not in this mod, at least. Maybe it depends on which vanilla factions were converted into the BC ones?

Re: Broken Crescent 2: RoPG (Game thread)
Yes, that is a most logical supposition.
In multiplayer, I've tested it out, and consistently, certain factions appear to play their turns before others. Jerusalem for example, always moves before the Ayyubids, Turkey moves first, Rome moves second, etc.
Sindh in this game was AI, so how do I change that for you Zim?

Re: Broken Crescent 2: RoPG (Game thread)
The sample command seems to have been removed from the sticky thread and Tosa'z wiki on the subject mentions how to change a faction to ai control but not the other way around. :sweatdrop:
I pmed Phonics on the issue. Unlike me he's actually had to do it before, so he should know how.

Re: Broken Crescent 2: RoPG (Game thread)
Phonics says the same command that can turn a player faction to AI does the opposite if entered for an AI faction.
control [faction]

Re: Broken Crescent 2: RoPG (Game thread)
I'll be away for three days (wednesday, thursday & friday) for family stuff, so if anyone pms me, I'm not deliberately ignoring any of you. (i've pm'd my sub, in case my turn comes around.)
Just thought I'd share that with all you good folk. Carry on!

Re: Broken Crescent 2: RoPG (Game thread)
Where do i upload the saves to after my turn has come and gone??
-
Re: Broken Crescent 2: RoPG (Game thread)
This is the link.
http://www.totalwar.org/Downloads/Up.../pbmupload.php
Don't forget to zip the save file or rar it before you upload it.
An easy way to get the link to the file is just to simply copy/paste the previous link and change the faction number (eg. the next upload would be from BC2-01-09 to BC2-01-10).

In case the above uploader fails, use this one.
Right click on the link and choose copy shortcut after hitting view archive... then paste it here and in pm to the next feller.

Re: Broken Crescent 2: RoPG (Game thread)
Ooops... forgot Tristan's on vacation.
He didn't designate anyone as a sub, to my knowledge, so I'm forced to play for him.
Anyone else got a message from him?
Now I have to pick his password too...

Guess what? Had to sub for Elite Ferret too.
I played what I consider the strongest possible opening moves for these two factions, barring anything too risky. I think both will be happy with the options I've left them.
Pm'ing each to report.
Makurians are up, Prince of Troy!
Pm'ing him too.

Re: Broken Crescent 2: RoPG (Game thread)
You've done well, ATPG...
I came back Monday from that too short vacation (Nice Brittany sunshine, though...) but work came back with a vengeance... :furious3:
I will check the save as soon as possible...
