Yes it *is* a well known bug which came up in the internal EB builds once... but was squashed? Apparently Hax succesfully brought it back to life? Time to change his title to "necromancer" ?

I seem to be getting the same bug too. at the winter turn on VH/M. rtw.exe. no mods, and no fixes installed. pure EB %100. My system can more than handle it. perhaps I need to install the fixes?

that was my problem to. I did not install the fixes!!!! Sorry boys I wont have the time to test until friday or sat this weekend. Girlfriends birthday is coming up so I gotta do the duties. If ya know what I mean!!!!!:happybirthday3::date::Zzzz: wink wink nudge nudge. Again a thousand apologies master hax!!!!!!! Keep working diligently on the other factions so we can get your babies out and tested.
Hello fiends, I have not tried the Great Faction Swaps mod yet - I have next to no time for playing anything lately - so I do not know what changes it makes in the descr_strat.txt. But the possible interaction with my Spoils of Victory intrigues me. Especially given the fact that my expectation would be the exact opposite, i.e. CTD WITH SoV applied, as SoV contains modified descr_strat.txt as a temporary fix from the time when original EB file had the UnitSize part of the code wrong.
Anyway, make sure that mod like that (modifying descr_strat and swapping factions) has that UnitSize part of the code - which is very important for the whole trait system with or without SoV - adjusted properly. It attributes UnitSize traits to the faction leaders based on the garrison to popuation ratios. Make sure that this part of code corresponds to the chages in the mod, i.e. that you have the names of all faction leaders correct, that it includes the strating cities (for instance Pergamon) and that the ratios corresponds to the new strating conditons.
I do not know whether Hax have done that already or not and I do not know whether this is the cause of your troubles or not, but it is certainly worthwhile to double-check that. Just to make sure. :2cents:

I vaguely remember it; it haunted some Helix build.

You should no longer use that method; instead use the permanent Campaign Script fix (UnitSize triggers). The CampaignScript assigns those traits automatically.

Some of it is shocking, so beware... :scared:
:oops:Oh sorry, whenever I have said descr_strat in my post above, I have of course meant CAMPAIGN_SCRIPT.txt:wall::wall::wall: Sorry for the confusion:embarassed:
However my point remain valid - faction swapping mod should make sure that the leader“s names and garrison-to-population ratios are adjusted appropriatelly in CAMPAIGN_SCRIPT.txt - be it the officially fixed one or the SoV temporary one or whatever.
Which also means, Hax, you should calculate those ratio's for the 'new' faction and overwrite those of the 'old' faction.
Any word on whats causing the the CTD? I can't see anything that looks to be causing it, seems to crash randomly during the AI turn.
Could be that a few Eleutheroi towns are acting in a weird way.
Any news on progress? It would be a shame if this great minimod died:(
Conversation killer, a whiff of irony about it?
Hmm..
Well, I'm really unsure about the Eleutheroi turn CTD.
yeah cant figure out that ctd:inquisitive:
Well, I haven't had time to check out what it really was. I'll get to work on it soon enough though.
seven years in and have not had any bugs or ctds as the Kingdom of Cimmerian Bosphoros. And I have been enjoying myself greatly. Just a couple of questions for ya hax. I could of PM you but. Its been inactive here on this thread for a bit. Are you going to change their body guard to something else just wondering? And also I have noticed all the old greek cities Athens, Sparta, and Rhodes are all empty? I know it was because those cities dont start rebel but it makes the Maks way to strong and they are starting to steamroll the eperiotes (sp). I figure you will change that once you make it availiable to the eperiotes. One last thing could you send me a nother download of the Pergamon please? Since I have the first one that you sent me but it had that money bug??:laugh4::2thumbsup:
I will try and get a garrison in Sparte, Athenai and Rhodos. On second thought, I might give Rhodos to the Ptolemaioi, since they were a close ally of the city.
I'll send you a new file ASAP.
I am ten years in and I am thoroughly impressed. Very smooth action and turns (and I'm not a Greek-style player). Its early morn' over here but I'll post more detailed thoughts later. Regardless, great work on this new one Hax! Can't wait for Numidia.
Hehe. Thank you very much. Good to hear you're enjoying it.
CV, any update?
hey hax thanx for the Pergamon download again. Im gonna try to iron out some more bugs on it. otherwise the cimmerian campaign is going flawless with me. By the way you never said if you were going to keep the greek bodyguard. Its not a big deal if you dont!!! Its just that it seems they would use a horse unit since they were readily available in the crimean. with the scythians and the sarmatians close by. Thats my :2cents:.
PM me with any new downloads Hax, I'd really like to have another go at Pergamon if you have found a solution.
First post updated with the link to the beta version of the Bosphoran Kingdom!
Remember everyone, install it on a clean EB version 1.1.
Just bumping Hax's post:beam:
This is fantastic. Thank you very much! :balloon2:
Thank you very much.
I only have one request for you guys. Could you please post the faction progression in this thread?
EDIT: Also, if there are any people that are handy with 2D art willing to help me on faction symbols and the like, I would be most grateful
Thanks to Izanagi11, the save/load issue has been solved for Pergamon. All the spies work properly now as well. Three cheers!
I'll send the Pergamon file to my beta-testers now, so expect a release very soon!
