That's what happens to most detectives :laugh4:

Excuse me, I think I have something in my eye.
What a turnout, one can only hope this game turns out as best it can. :bow:
I'm sure Tosa's awesome ninja abilities allow him to see what foolish mortal attempted to kill him, but I think he's too nice to use it.
:sweatdrop:
Damn, where is Sir Beanie, I would have challenged him to a duel!
In:bow:
You still exist? :inquisitive:
Welcome back :grin:
Am I in time to say in? I hope I am.
Ok, in.
Wow, 59 people. Note to self: do not murder all the newbies, we want them to keep playing mafia games.
I am amazed at the number of sign ups considering there's several large games running already. Let's hope you won't have to WoG a quarter of players here.
I guess I'm in.
Is it possible to be known as The Spartan for old sakes?
Gigantic turnout. Mafia will probably have some uber-powers like killing 3 persons per night. Each mafioso.
Andres I'm dissapointed in you, its clear 100 want to sign up, so accommodate for them ~;)
Looks like I'm too late ~:(. And with a personal invite and everything. Best luck keeping track of this mob, Andres, and a great game to all.
Ajax
If I can handle 60, then 61 shouldn't be a problem.
You're in :2thumbsup:
Sign-ups will remain open until 19.00 GMT +1 (that's roughly 10 hours from now on, after which they will inevitably close).
I can already tell you guys that, considering the extremely high number of participants, I'll toss in an extra faction and spice it up with some additional secret role(s).
Oh, but there are tons of background information for this one.
I got inspiration from:
- James Clavell's "Shogun";
- the marvelous mini-serie based on said book (the miniserie is also called "Shogun"), which is out on DVD nowadays;
- Eido Josjikawa's "Taiko" (I've been looking for a Dutch translation from "Mushashi", from the same author, literally for years now. If anyone would know where I could pick one up, I'd be very much obliged);
- several movies, most from Akira Kurosawa;
- tons of information on the internet, to name but a few:

* http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sengoku_period
* http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takeda_Shingen

I'm sure you'll find many more links on the time period and the most famous characters from that period in the Monastery.
116 posts and the sign in is not even complete... This will be a monster. :yes:
Yes, I also suggest that you make the first so and so many turns at least two days long because with so many participants the thread will be very, very big, a lot to read and coming to a somewhat sensible lynch conclusion can be hard in one day. You might want to keep the nights short though since there is usually less discussion and everybody just waits for the results. Just my two cents.
um... post-exam rush?Quote:
The mid-boss was encountered and slain, with the Final one's whereabouts unknown. Still have to dodge sleep-inducing profs, finger-biting hardcovers, and soul-sucking reports, with only a half-full skills set, and much of the secrets and collectibles still undiscovered. Plus the built-in game-guide continuously monitoring my progress and bothering me to check my equipment ever so often. It also demands that I get a hair-cut before chapter's end! The nerve?!
Not even fully rested, a man cloaked in black approaches you and beckons you to follow. No doubt a sidequest, and yet after some hesitation, found yourself approaching the shadows where the mysterious man disappeared into...
Oh, and the game still hasn't given you the option to save...
IN:bow: if you'll have me. A possible replacement if you need one.
Hmm!
Well, I do not want to play the pessimist role, but I can only hope that this mafia game does not follow the usual 58% lurker pattern.
But I don't think I have played any game where the entire sign-up list contributed thoughtfully to the day phase.
If we have an active player base as large as Capo II, this will be very fun... and exhaustive.
Thank you for hosting this, Andres.
