Only 2 of your 9 posts have occurred since actual play began. One informing us you read the opening post and the other saying there's been a lot of blather going on. The last one IS a fair comment, but this is shaping up into another lurk -- and I will not have it.
hey..... stop picking on me, nearly everyone (that played chicago and God father) knows that i find it more comfortable to play when there's less people. there's usually too much reading in the first 1/2 of the game. i try to keep up, and post when i can
i'm also trying to organise and host my first game... which is taking a lot of my time. fancy joining? :beam:
I hear I am tied with beefy to be lynched, I would rather not be lynched. So
Vote: Beefy
Any defense? Both Beefy and ATPG have sorta lifted the guilt, but this raises more suspicion than anything.
Vote: Ptolemists at least until he gives us more reason to not lynch him
edit,
nevermind
Its still a tie, you guys. I'm just making sure that Ptolemists won't slip by without an explanation.
Ok shows up at the last minute and votes for beefy as a self preservation vote.
There's a reason I'm not changing my vote.
3 hours remain.
Please recheck, I based it off of my own previous tallies.Quote:

After a long hard day in town, with much mindless chattering, but a lot less than expected, a name was put forward. Beefy187 had been chosen to be killed.
The method? Drinking.
A bulky man called Jai sat down at the bar next to Beefy and began egging him on to drink.
"Drink Beefy! Drink! Vodka is great! SKULL SKULL SKULL."
pevergreen saw what was happening and was amused. However, he couldn't leave his friend Beefy all alone.
"come on mate, lets get you into a bed."
So the great friend pevergreen took Beefy back to his house and made sure he was ok. As pevergreen walked upstairs to get a bed ready, Beefy died from alcohol poisoning.
A true story, except Beefy lived and we cooked lunch for my family.

It is now Night 1. Please have your orders in within 24 hours.
so what was he? a townie?
He didn't have an alternate name from the play itself, and so therefore was neither mafia nor one of the pro-town roles. Basic townie I'd expect.
Correct except it was whisky not vodka that we skulled :laugh4:
Now this is when I whip Pizza guys scumdar :whip:
Oh come on guys, I can't believe Beefy got lynched after this absolutely brilliant defense:
:laugh4:
So you are complaining because you acted suicidal and got lynched 3 games in a row? You wanted to get lynched and town obliged and now you are complaining?
:inquisitive:

Person A: YOU'RE SO CRUELl! WHY DID YOU DO THAT? :bigcry:
Why 4 times? Is it a magic number?
I still can't believe I'm the only one to have spotted the fairly obvious danger of the Gaelic Cowboy. He may not be making bombs in his basement.. but if he is.. and you're buying them from him, I'd be a little bit concerned for my own safety if I was you.. and if you're getting him in to do a loft extension...well - the less said the better.
I still can't believe I'm the only one to have spotted the fairly obvious danger of the Gaelic Cowboy.
TBH just going on names he's probably the one thats most obviously townie... alot of the rest of the names are english or foriegn... at least gaelic actually sounds like he should be living in ireland...
Though being the most irish i guess you could say he's the most likely to be a republican..
I was only joking. Assuming Gaelic Cowboy doesn't kill me, my votes now will be down to evidence rather than blind prejudice. Just don't get him to fit you a new boiler.
Beefy has died early now in both games! :furious3:
Tonight blood will be spilled...
*sighs*
I'm looking at everyone who isn't my friend right now...
As much as I favor a Reenk Roink lynch, purely because I never, ever can figure out which side he is on, no matter how he is behaving, I'd think we would need better reasons than that. I think he's bluffing, and if so, there are ways of determining his innocence. We could always put him in the comfy chair and poke him with the soft cushions.
And Beefy-
Sorry man, but I did question you privately and I defended you publicly because all your answers seemed to be legit, and even when they smelled funny, you offered good rebuttals. I will treasure our conversation for quite some time because of how hilarious it was. Plus your suicidalism and your blatant blatant WIFOM over and over both in public and in private warranted the nod from me. Your behavior warranted the scumdar blip, but I made a judgment call, and it was correct, wasn't it?
I was actually wanting to unvote him this morning, but it seems I was late already.
One thing that remains constant is the retaliation voting and killing, so be wise with your votes: don't vote for me or people I say not to vote for. :deal:
PreVote:Reenk Roink
Why does killing have to be a bad thing?
It's not, but the temptation to provoke you was irresitible
Sorry missed all the fun I was in Connolys Bar and Mcgarrigles of Sligo then we went to the Venue in Strandhill and the Strand Bar too and finally rounded off the night in Shennanigans. I am green I feel green and I promise I will do it again. ~
sorry its still bright here Unvote Reenk Roink
I will vote again later
Town have no shame do they? :shame: Lynching Reenk resembles lynching beefy, and look where that got us?
FoS: ATPG
Whilst I don't condone suicide votes when beefy unvoted you and took you out of the running, your claims of voting for yourself soon dispersed, I'm not telling you to kill yourself, but don't claim that you will if it turns out to be a lie. Not particularly noble considering my first impressions of you aswell as the fact you believed beefy to be innocent.
Beefy I thought was a poor lynch, but Polemists didn't contribute at all until the very end of the round. I know I am innocent, frankly I thought you would lynch him. I kept my vote on him and his explanation didn't satisfy me. I invited votes on me the entire first round, I unvoted myself under pressure from other townies, and at the time of the final tally, beefy had 6 votes and I had 3. It would have made no difference. If you really think I am guilty, so be it. But it would take stupidity beyond imagination to promise to cap myself with a tied vote, and then let the fate of the game hinge on whether or not townies would vote for Beefy or Polemists, and then be in a situation where I would have to back down on my word (instant lynch) or accept death (suicide).
Seriously, I had no control over whether or not I was going to die round one. I gave everyone in town that control and invited the votes. I accepted my fate when it was triple tied. It is not my fault people think I am innocent for being willing to die. And Ares, you voted Polemists too. FoS right back at ya buddy. You say you don't condone suicide votes, and then you get mad at me because I wasn't lynched, and even with my vote on myself, I still wouldn't have gotten lynched? You must think I have really big brass balls, buddy. I don't follow your logic at all. I said Beefy was a bad lynch and I didn't vote for him, so don't blame me.
Now let's have a fine brew, and think about round two. It's true because it rhymes. :medievalcheers:
Don't go revenging for my sake.
I chose to be lynched when I unvoted Pizza so I can only blame my self for the lynch.
Revenge is futile.. It does nothing more but increase more casualties.
You're a scholar and a gentleman, Beefy. Please continue to play until the end, my friend.
Beefy is our hero!
He shall rise up from the dead and strike down the dastardly limeys and the cunning terrorists!
May god have mercy on thier souls....
I hereby grant my official zombie powers to the Beefy one. The Mad Zombie Cow will gore all the mafia in this game.
:taurus:
Where is Ares to go crazy over that smiley?
No zombie cow is a match for us mafiosos...
*Gasp!
An Italian in our Irish village!

I'm surprised that I havent been jumped on yet for my last vote.
That didn't sound nervous at all.
Nervous? Why would I be nervous?
That sounded even more nervous....
Very suspicious very suspicious indeed Greyblades
FOS GREYBLADES
I was expecting to be accused of being a mafia, trying to get an extra kill. Im just surprised that didnt happen.
The statements in and of themselves seem fine to me. You may very well be just blurting out the first thing that comes to mind. It's just that your own vote seems to be the first thing on your mind, if that is the case. Why would your own vote make you nervous?
Withholding judgment for now...only the first night, yet a lot of people are active. Why? Night all....*drifts off*

Hmm... left while he was being questioned about it, and didn't answer my question. However, it would be dumb to just bandwagon him next round over this. I think he should answer a few questions at least. I tend to think that mafia wouldn't show up at night, say something self-incriminating, then flee. Perhaps I am being naive, but I really think you'd get a more graceful performance out of a mafioso than that. Or maybe I am expecting too much.
I did? Im pretty sure I had the web browser on in the background.
That doesnt make any sense, my last post was long after 19:25
Sorry, 19:25 my time.
It's 20:32 now by my watch.
Ok, so you're here. If you respond to my question, paraphrasing: "why would you be thinking about/nervous about your own vote" I'll probably drop it.
im surprised noone has jumped on the fact i called limeys dastardly whilst giving the ira a sly compliment...
I mean im not...
Not buying into the suspicion on greyblades much....
ATPG: In answer to your question; I was not nervous, just surprised. I was confused to why my scummy-ish* vote didnt even raise an eyebrow.
*I am a little tired so I could be wrong about that.
Probably because we don't know what "limeys" are...
Probably because we don't know what "limeys" are...
English people...
I have a vague idea of what "limeys" are, because I am a fan of some British humor. (In real life, in real life... settle down :laugh2:) However, I only know from context, I do not know what it actually means. I seem to remember it's something Brits call one another?
Your answers satisfy me for now, Greyblades. I liked the pressure on you; might have made you crack. But at the same time the eagerness to bandwagon you over basically nothing was something we need to watch out for. Mafia love nothing else than to sit back and just watch us self-destruct. I'm looking very intently at everyone who hasn't contributed much to the conversation, because that's where mafia love to hide. Those who contribute a lot will eventually be hung by their own words; it's the lurkers and semi-actives who avoid suspicion all game.
Limey is not Irish slang its strictly Aussie or even Kiwi in nature its to do with the fact sailors suffered scurvy on long ship voyages and lime juice was perscribed to stave it off so english sailors came to be limeys.
In Ireland the term would be Brit or Hun but unfortunately those words have a bit too much of a loaded meaning due to the terrorism problem in the North and would be discouraged.
Brit is obvious but Hun as far as I know comes from the fact the royal family are basically a german family come over from Saxe-Coburg if I remember correctly.
You could feasibly call them "boche"... Oh wait, Ireland.
"Tommy" is reserved for soldiers.
"Limey " is pretty universal, I must say, since I've heard it here in aboot-land. A bit like "Yankee"
Ha ha I didn't even realise that there was an "actual" Captain Blackadder in this game... magic
(welcome Captain Blackadder BTW).
I saw the vote for him ealier on in the game and though it was an attempt to "get an English infiltraitor". :clown: (note that I am the clown).
Ohh and to continue the inane babble, we (Kiwi's) do not really call the English "limeys".
English = POM's

Scots = Jocks
