Yeah, I made a slight adjustment to my writing.
The tendrils were just a way to stop the fighting so we don't kill each other before
you guys know what the actual threat is.

Wow, this game has really taken off. Much as I hate to admit it, I really don't think I'm going to be able to keep up with everyone's characters. Not at this pace, at least. I'm going to focus on those in my own character's company and on TLD's posts (since his are obviously going to be relavent to everyone). If any very important developments happen with the other groups, it might be a good idea to post a brief summary in this thread. Even though it's got a lot more posts, they're a lot quicker to read.

BTW, I'm not a big fan of putting words into other characters' mouths, but I've already done so at this point. :P If anyone would like me to edit any of my posts to make them fit their character better, feel free to PM me.

B_Ray, it's fine. He is quite drunk at the moment. And what you said is probably what I would say.

Just a note: In 6 days I will be gone for 5-6 days, I'll be back for a few, then gone for another 4, so my activity will be zero over that period.

THat's fine, we'll find ways to figure it out. We can drag characters along. Also about the "Putting words into other character's mouth: We will have to do that to keep the story moving.. if aynthing happens during this and the creator of the characte doesn'T agree that his character would say that it will just have to be changed later.

Also Visor, you could give simple orders to me or whoever your character is travelling with so we can move on while you're gone

Before I leave, I'll give orders depending on the situation.

So since Visor and B_Ray did some heavy assuming stuff on Greyblades chars I went with it and assume you guys are pretty much out of the capital right now... if you don't agree with that I can change my post a bit to reflect that but as far as I'm concerned you made your way to the exit and are out, right?

Yeah, I think we'd have gone out of the capital. What Greyblades decides to do next is up to him.

It does... When I went to bed yesterday the story was at post 35ish and when I woke up it aws 60something...

Ok... a little time-framing here... The group around Drax and Alain has now travelled underground to the shores of Lake Birun which should have taken about a day at least and they'll probably be there a bit so Drax, we can keep talking there etc. but we'll have to let the others catch up a bit...

I don't know where Greyblades/Visor/B_Ray wanna move but if you advance towards Lake Birun too you could also skip a day and arrive near us...

DE, DIY if you want to move southward I'd be careful. As mentioned in one of my posts the army will take that route, trying to seize Leon, Vintom and then Anaba so of course your characters wouldn't know but I'm sure they'd soon notice ;)

I'll change the waiting period from "a few hours" to a whole day, more than enough time for the others to catch up if they want to :)

@Amsel: I think it's pretty much correct only thatthe Glungurd, Rugus, Thomas, Gilford group is already outside the city.
Peasnat Phill (NUalla hasn'T posted yet so I'd say it's a better idea for him to start somewhere else other than in the capital.
Guantano and Alyssa are somewhere on the road leading south from Lassara if I understood that correctly and the group with the princess is on the southwestern shore of Lake Birun

So, humans mostly. They can be fooled and reasoned with. Perhaps they'll even take on a couple of sellswords if it gets to that.

Your forgot that Serak and Alastor are going with the army. I wouldn't count on the generosity of them, esp. Alastor would simply use his words to make the two of you part of the army ;)
WHich brings me to the question I haven't really brought up and that's if players can actually join the anatgonists in this story...

Yeah but There's been alot of white flashes, I would expect to be seeable from outside of the city, like on the bank of the lake or other places. Guantano and alyssa probably was close enough to see some of it as well.

They might have been able to but the thing is the princesse's party was probably underground at that time... we did a little fast forward, we actually walked the whole way to the lake through underground tunnels.

Alyssa and Guantano might have been able to see it but they probably had other things to worry about... or they didn't mention it, those two don't seem like the chatty type...

Well hmm my current idea of the situation is that the two have formed an uneasy companionship, recognizing the necessity of the other but I would suppose one wouldn't talk much if they were fleeing a horde of evil and mind controlled humans at their feet chasing a princess who headed along this way.

Probably will grab a horse first, I'll leave it to DE to post that scene if he wants to. Makes the idea of running away faster a bit more sensible.

Although it'll make more sense to head to Leon, to "find out more" which is the characters' current plan, maybe you can provide some gamelore over there at the visit to the learned professor, either that or just pass along information which you are okay with giving out and then me/DE can post it.

From there who knows, perhaps a meet up with the happy tree friends or a boat ride to Birun followed by a short track to Lake Birun itself.

Hmm, another way for the Capital Crew to get together is to get either the Princess' group or the Potato Thing group to fall into/foil the trap set by DiY/DE. I don't really mind - any ideas?

Of course, that would mean we would have to get to Leon quickly....

I'm not so sure, seeing as my character is now lucid he's going to want to find his father, there's probably a family home in the city where he left most of his equipment so there's that too... Realy I dont think my character is likely to leave the city yet unless something drastic happens.

OK, I'm a little confused at the moment. Once the Capital group makes it to Lake Birun, what are we supposed to do there? And Greyblades, what just happened to Thomas Targryn with the light and sword? I haven't figured out what the deal with the angel and the multiple magical swords was all about. Perhaps I need to refresh myself on the history of Lassara.

Actually the history won't help very much there as it was something that came from GB ;) - well, I think it would be good to get all characters together for a "meeting" of some sort, it makes sense to split up from there but at least they should be able to exchange what they know and then kind of get to a point where they actually decide what to do... Since the group around Thomas is on its way to Lake Birun they could meet the group of the princess there... Also GB don't worry there'll be reasons to stick with us...

don't know about the Happy Treefriends... remember the army is on its way to seize Leon so maybe Alyssa and Guantano could decide the risk is too high to get caught up in that and they stay outside of the town, meeting you guys in the woods.

Hrm... I guess I wasn't realy very good at explaining it.

Cantus was a holy warrior and I assumed that he joined the gods in the afterlife, when he saw his old enemy (Vayne) was back he would try to interviene so he used the one link he had to the real world: his holy sword. He came back by using the shard in the sword as his vessel and planned to protect his people and especially his successors I.E. the royal family, thats what the "where is my heir" was about, but ran into vayne before he found her.

When he was beaten he had to make sure such a powerful artifact like the sword, even a small part of it, wouldnt be taken by his enemies so his last act was to return it to the sword's current owner: Thomas.

Just to make this clear, the roal guard will have guards during the night so when the group around Thomas arrives at Lake Birun you can't just stumble over the little hiding place. The guards will probably lead you there though as soon as they see you and recognize you as a member of House Targryn. they might make you hand over your weapons though ;)

The head of house targryn has probably already fled with his household guard, I think we would meet them up long before we catch up with the princess.

The question is how would you know where they have gone, or if they're still alive?

Here's and idea: a call to arms. My character's father being the most powerful noble left will send out messangers to tell all the other lords to accumilate troops and sail to Tar Cantun or march to some other place, the other characters could join or follow the numerous armies and all end up in one place with a huge army.

the problem is there is no huge army... and it would kinds beat the game if we suddenly have a grand army... but a call to some place is not a bad idea... and someone who has already been in touch with nobles, like thomas' father would be great for that I guess. Well since this is a story and there's always "destiny" involved, you could find your father and then together with him come to Lake Birun where all there agree to make this call, subtly of course, only to those people of whom theys know they are still loyal... the happy tree friends group could somehow hear of it and make their way there too... voila! ^^ just there'd be no armies... a few nobles with knights, a few royal guardsmen and our chars...

Well that's odd, we have a perfect idea to give fluffy the oppertunity to raise an undead army and your going to waste it? What are we going to do when a whole flying castle full of demons attacks us? And what happened to the world in 800 years to prevent armies being raised?

I don't get the thing about the world in 800 years... the army has been raised and was in Lassara. It is now under control of Ovyn...
We'll have to find ways to deal with it but our characters will surely find a way, the thing is they really should find out what exactly the situation is and that's hard bein scattered about everywhere.

the thing is that basically the army is in control of Ovyn, marching towards Leon and the cities beyond to take them with little there to resist them. Vron (one of Vayne's guys) is on his way to bring the eastern part of the kingdom under Ovyn's control and the flying fortress will shortly be on its way to Tar Cantun.
So there's not really going to be much help coming from these places...

Your seriously telling me they pulled out all thier levies, thier mercenaries, all thier conscripts and borderguards, all thier troops save for a smattering of home guard units and brought the all into one city for a coronation?... Thats just... Wow... I take back what I said, let my dad rot I hope all the nobles were slaughtered if they were that incompetent.

sure there are still levies and guardsmen that could be called but as I explained, the enemy is pretty much attacking every direction right now so whatever these cities can muster they will need to defend themselves and it is rather questionable that they will succeed.

I would post, but I think Fluffy has a better lead-in to your last one. Frijyk would wind up thinking the "creature" Kyran mentioned is the tiger. And that wouldn't be good.

...Ok, guys new plan.
We gotta get a way to restore fluffy's necromancy and get an army together, I propose happy tree friends go to lassaria and go after rashid, group potato will grab the princess then try to call the still loyal bannermen into action, Guantano & alissa (now known as group grabass) follow the army and shank alastor at the earliest oppertunity, the rest of you go looking for shard pieces and maybe try to get any hedge wizards, knights, magic items, artifacts whatever you can find.

That's the thing... we have heavily discussed this ooc and it's not even a bad plan but the characters have no motivation to do just that. That's why I think they'd need to come together and talk about thing. Most of the characters wouldn't know that shards of something could help. Most won't even know wtf just happened. Of our chars only Thomas and Gilford were present in the throne room when the guys from the Void showed up. Only fluffy's char seems to have a decent grasp on what they could actually be, etc... we need to make this work ingame not ooc... see it more as a story than as a game you try to win as fast as possible...

I was kinda joking with the last post.

...I dont suppose Oglocks have telepathy or rufus is an esper in disguise?

Edit: oh dear I seem to have misread b_ray's character sheet, I've been assuming he was a 10 foot troll instead of a 4 foot thing... kinda makes the whole carrying thomas around thing funnier now that I think about it.

I reckon the Princess/Captain would have enough political knowledge to know where to rally their supporters. In my story post I suggested that the southern colonies are very loyal and we know there are several elf tribes there. There is also a huge mountain range/forest splitting the continent nearly into half, so quite defensible if we secure various alliances Dragon Age-style (which incidentally would be awesome!)

Edit: Yikes, went to get a cup of tea whilst writing and got crossposted so many times...

I think it's safe to assume that it would have been discussed while traveling. I suppose Visor's character probably doesn't much care about either side anyway, and mine won't be that concerned either. Rufus is just looking for fun and excitement, and Glungurd is basically along for the ride.

That's alright; I thought the description in your last story post was pretty humorous. :laugh4: He's somewhat stronger than most men even with his short stature, just very unbalanced.

So after assessing the situation, it seems that several characters are going to be headed for Leon, which is not far from where our party currently is. Amsel's character, whose posts are very entertaining but completely isolated, is in nearby Birun. I think we should find a way to meet up with her by the lake and then work our way to Leon.

also I love the recurring theme with the sheep. I can picture the final battle with Ovyn facing whoever he'll be facing and all of a sudden Glungurd walks up to the consul "I lost my sheep, have you seen them?"

I just had a thought: As long as we don't go around saying "we're after the villians blood" and I hide my holy sword we might be able to run around the world unmolested, I dont think the villians even know we are good guys yet and while they arent bothered about casualties none of the real bad guys are actually killing randomly, as long as we dont run into the alistair guy we could be running around under the villians noses allmost indefinitely.
