And no that isn't me it's my maid's barely underaged toyboy.
He is good he hit it tree times
I love it when I get inspiration for ambitious projects that I don't have the funding and often times the skill to pull off. I am generally a lot less excited when I think of something practical. :P
In one of the languages spoken in Rwanda, "chop" is something like 'tem-'
In Attic Greek, "cut" is something like 'temn-'
I know that doesn't indicate anything at all, but it's still interesting...
some recent random thoughts:
man, I'm so rolling in teh moniez now....
why do some people not accept that 63-47=/=9?
what should I do about that old friend of mine? she isn't accepting my invitation to be friends on Facebook, she won't reply to the letter in the invitation, and so far did not openly reject the invitation. maybe she's still angry about me not being able to give her my email when I last saw her; then again, she did leave the room when I told her I'd be back from doing a quick assignment (to which she agreed to stay for). If so that's a long time to hold a grudge.
Just forget about it. If she accepts the friend request sweet, if not then oh well.
I get this same kind of anxiety and lately I've been learning that I need to detach myself from the relationship and just let it go. I feel so much better when I do and the relationship I'm fretting over actually improves instead of falling apart like I used to fear. If the relationship does end then that's ok, it's not the end of the world. There's other girls out there for me to date and other people for me to get to know and I can't force someone to be in a relationship with me if they don't want to be.

When I saw the new Thief website and how they portrayed Basso (and the species of Jenivere) I almost cried. Why do I have to suffer through them doing this to one of my favorite games? Why?
All flies must die
we were never in a relationship: just friends.
but that was the conclusion I came to anyways: up to her to resume the friendship, or to not do so (as puzzled as I'd be). this is just a thought I had at the time.
anyways, more random thoughts I've had:
-I bet everything looks more epic with sacred war playing--especially war movies.
-maybe it is for the best not to sacrifice the sheep in honor of my first career job: too expensive to buy them.
-maybe I should just buy an Arabian to ride instead.
Got me a job interview tomorrow. It will be my first ever 'sit on my ass job' if I get it. :P Pretty excited.
thanks! though to be honest I got the job around the time I posted my first random thoughts (about slaughtering the sheep--really was thinking about it). it's not necessary, but sharing the bounty is good.
took a lot of legwork to find this one, but it pays well: this August I'm expected to rake in $5-6000. If I keep this up, I can pay off the personal school loans in about a year, And still have enough money to:
1-pay off my truck
2-save money (which I must invest, to keep the value of).
another year, and I'll have enough to fund graduate school on my own. see how many grad school departments will resist that offer...the only obstacle is making sure mom can pay her end of the bills safely. for this I must divert precious money, but it's worth it.
I'm still tearing up from State of the Game Episode 100. God damn do I love Starcraft and eSports.

The REAL bear-jew. Next week I am going to fight him
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps0c176e14.jpg
Wish me luck
Yeah absolutily. I am still going to fight him though. He is really though and he got the marks on his face to prove it, he got a black belt in judo. This will be a fun fight. I will probably lose very badly but that doesn't really matter. He's a nice guy and we don't do hostility here, just fights.
lol, good luck then, and don't get yourself killed. :P
Ever have days where you get distracted and never finish anyt
Meh. Thief 4, no. Just no. It's making the same mistakes Deus Ex: Human Revolution maked, illusion of choice on how to play.

Gimmickry. Not pleased, not at all. That interface, wtf. At least it makes sense for a cyborg but a Thief?
Yeah. Especially fixed points for rope arrows sucks harder than a black hole. Everything seems to resolve around how the developers want you to play, that sucks. I want huge levels I can aproach any way I want. And if they actually make blowing on the controler to put out torches I am going to grow a beard and join the Taliban. Seriously wtf? Graphics at least look ok, bit loud like all Unreal-tech based games but ok, nowhere near as good as the pics you posted earlier. I hate the word but this has consolitus written all over it. It goes way too fast, physics look off, AI looks poor.
D-d-d-d-d-damn, I love reduplication.
I was just thinking, it is funny that RTW and ETW are the two most complained about TW titles of all time, yet they (despite ETW's rocky start) are IMHO by far the best.
I've never been able to get into a TW game since M2. I hope R2 will change that.
I decided I don't like my school anymore. I went to the first day of my math class yesterday and the room was completely full, I had to sit on a chair by the wall without any desk. Then they want me pay $40 for a parking sticker. They're planning on building a clock tower that the school doesn't need and will cost thousands of dollars. It makes me mad that they want to take every cent off of me that they possibly can and then build useless stuff that won't enhance my education.
Having an attractive campus is important, but I think my school's priorities are in the wrong order.
They are all like that.
I want, no NEED a blowpipe. Damn that stuff shoots hard
Maybe later, found a nice short one for sale (90cm) and it has sharp and stun darts. Shooting bottles with stun darts is fun they almost explode. Haven't bought it yet by the way friend brought one. Fun fact, at the smartshop 2 minutes from here I can buy these frogs they use in the jungle. Tempting.
lol :P
I was really looking forward to R2 coming out. Too late, now hooked on MWO. Gotta run LRMs inc

Time really flies.
In the future Belgian beer will be produced everywhere in the world but will still be called "Belgian"... it won't be made from hops or grains, but instead from the faeces of special GM cockroaches which live on human sewage and crap out pellets of malty/hoppy goodness...
From your local licenced InBev global outlet in about 2150 something-or-other...
Or... I might have it backwards, it might have been mutant cockroaches making beer out of fermented Belgians...
Is it me, or is lately there a weird trend in academic philosophy toward a "practical", "common-sense" realism in which, Oh no guys, we had it right all along, everything is exactly as it seems, or in other words it is exactly as it seems to me and the subsistence-farmer minds of ancient times.
That is a bad thing?
That is just a consequence of prolonged criticism from the public at large towards notions of being purposely obfuscating with jargon and being removed from reality in Ivory Towers.
That being said, I do believe there is value in things said by the ancients. I like the Epicureans and the Stoics and the ancient Skeptics I have read. What i don't like, is the very beginning of the "modern" philosophy and traditions with people like Descarte talking about demons tricking your eyes or whatever the garbage he spews to justify God's existence.
I'm not talking about the Classical or Late Antique philosophers - who aren't interesting anyway - but notions like "we may take as data for philosophical inquiry many of the things we ordinarily think we know", or that philosophers need not "deny what we all know to be true".
Ahh, I see what you are talking about. Leaving aside that this was published in 1959........I need a few days to fully read and understand what this dude is saying. I don't want to comment in the positive or negative towards "common sense" philosophy without some grounding of what that actually entails.
EDIT: Whoops got the year wrong.
So sue me.
But there are other, contemporary, offenders, of which I will regrettably not divulge any details.
All too easily "common sense" is abused to force one's opinion through another one's throat.
I'm going to make a bold statement: common sense is an obstacle in philosophy and therefore has no place in it. It imposes a limit and as such becomes a roadblock to innovative and new ideas. Common sense stands in the way. And not only in philosophy.
I understand @asai about Descartes and some philosophers living in Ivory Towers, and to a certain degree, I concur, but Descartes' was groundbreaking in the sense that his ideas force you to be skeptical about everything, even about things you observe. He takes it to the extreme, which becomes a bit silly, but there is merit in it.
Perhaps it is nothing more than an impression, but I have the impression that in our modern day Western societies, people are not sceptical enough. Everything mainstream media throws at them, is accepted as fact and truth. Sure, you can say some of his ideas are silly, but we need more Descartes who learns us to distrust everything we observe to balance out the lack of scepticism and critical thinking in our societies.
We need more people arguing that perhaps oranges aren't orange to counterbalance the majority which questions nothing.
EDIT: it was ACIN who mentioned asai, which only shows Descartes was right: I shouldn't trust my senses.
If I had more time I would make more of an effort to discuss everything you said. But I am way to tired, so I will just ask one quick question.
If you believe that common sense has no place in philosophy, do you believe that our moral intuitions should be completely disregarded in the philosophy of ethics?
I have been using common sense has a substitute for asserting what appears to be obvious on a basic level of observation.
Common Sense is often abused as a description for "my opinion". Asserting that we all see the clock and can read the same time from it, is a common sense standpoint imo. There is a place for this kind of assertion and I feel it has its merits as well as the more subjective and skeptical views.
Common sense is a rather vague notion and in a lot of instances, people use it as denominator of what they think is the mainstream opinion of society or simply what they think is correct.
If you say that the clock shows that time, then it is not "common sense" to say that it's now x hours late. It's just that late. Besides, there are arguments contra. The clock could be inexact, in another part of the world, the time is not the same etc. Now, one could argue that it is "common sense" not to start a discussion about how late it is, since we all see the clock, but in a way, it's not common sense, but your opinion. You just say it's common sense to accept that what the clock says is the right time, because you're not interested in a discussion about time zones or about flaws in clock mechanisms that make them inexact. By using the notion "common sense", you avoid the dicussion and attempt to finish it. You stiffle the debate and make it impossible to have a discussion about better clock mechanisms or about time zones.
In the clock example, it can be defended that it would be silly to constantly doubt the time the clock is showing, but where do you draw the line? When is a discussion worth having and not worth having?
The most common answer to that last question, would probably be: use common sense.
If you go far enough however, you'll find out that everyone has a different opinion on what common sense is. If nobody fully agrees on what common sense is in all circumstances, than perhaps it's not so common.
Common sense doesn't exist and thus cannot be used as an argument.
^
According to Descartes the only thing you can be sure about is your own existance, cogito ergo sum, I think therefore I am
The point is that thing you just missed ACIN. Heck, I don't even like philosophy. Descartes is kinda a rebel.
There is nohing more satisfying than hearing these :daisy: flies having a slow slow and horrible death on the sticky straps I hung up for them, it's like a christmas tree, but with flies. No mercy if you keep harrasing me. I hate flies. They keep comming for my nose and eyes, and the rest of whatever pieces of my body they can, and when they don't they are just doing nothing but flying. HATE flies
-God, Red Orchestra 2 kicks my bum down to the bone!
-I wish faster than light travel was possible within the decade. too bad it won't happen, but I so want to see another Earth-like planet.
-maybe I should have gotten a degree in physics--I could be the guy who makes the Alcubierre drive possible :clown:
HA! I'm still waiting on my Back to the Future hoverboard.
Sunday in my beautifull little town, having a hangover soothed by the jazz-band playing the saxophone a few meters away. Living here just bleeds pure class, I really like living here

Did a spur of the moment trip this weekend to visit a friend. Managed to get through a party where I literally did not know anybody. Probably was the most social I had ever been for about a year or two.
For some reason though, after the party I ended up not sleeping the entire night and barely got an hour and 30 min nap before I drove all the way back to my place. I'm still not sleepy or hungry. I think my brain doesn't know how to cope with large groups.
Looks like I have a new stern dad. Friend of mine cut open his fist for whatever reason and I asked my neighbour if he had some jodium. I had some antibiotics laying around and they were brutily confiscated by my new stern dad. No I couldn't get them back, as I am no doctor. I pointed out that I might need them in the case of a zombie-apocalypse, it didn't work. I just got beaten at survival
? Care to explain?
Volunteering to run around with grannies. Giving them a nice day out, me and my friends can provide them with the most fun they had since ever, no, not like that you pervert. Tagging them along on the waters & barbecue on empty islands, that should be a welcome change of pace for these oldies
Who knows, you may be able to find a sugar momma! ~;)
