I wouldn’t allow such mocking towards no other member, and certainly not when it’s directed towards Spino, BKS and me. Don’t test my nerves, or we'll test who the actual kid here is.

When you spent two more years here and I get to know you, and add a smiley to your comment in just the right way, then I might consider it to be a joke. This way you just managed to annoy the hell out of me. Don’t do it again, please. I believe that someone listening to such refined music, which complete understanding demands quite an enlightened, intellectual and sensible spirit would hardly act in such an clumsy and unsophisticated way. I'm not much for 20th century classical music. I'm more Baroque Era to Impressionist.

how old are you? i'm wondering if it's a generational thing is why i ask (i'm 27). i like most 'classical' music (i.e. euro-american art music). the classical period (mozart, haydn, cpe bach, etc) is actually my least favorite. have you heard much bartók? if you the impressionists (speaking mainly of ravel), i'd think you'd dig the chromaticism of guys like bartók. if you haven't heard them, check out the wooden prince and bluebeard's castle from your local library.

I'm 17. I have heard Bartok, but his stuff just doesn't do it. My favourite composer of all time is Handel, but recently I've been studying the music of J.S. Bach's sons...pretty good stuff there :book: Haydn is good as well, only recently got into his stuff.

seriously though, not that this would happen to you, but i didn't like a lot of more modern music when i was younger (early teens). actually started with classical and moved my way up, chronologically. except when i fell backward into baroque and elizabethan a few years back.. hmm... and now my fav composer of all time, usually, is prokofiev. go figure.

never cared much for janáček. he strikes me as similar to rimsky-korsakov in the respect that when i listen to him, i'm always waiting for the music to achieve it's potential, and it never quite gets there for some reason (of course musically, there's little similarity). as compared to his near-contemporary czech composers, dvorak is obviously superior, and smetana's melodic sense engages me more. basically, janáček is one of those guys that is interesting and somewhat forward-looking, but not very memorable.

Lol, no worries m8 ... tongue-in-cheek techno extreme from the late 80s or so. Great samples of southern US preachers doing their thing, layered over a cacaphony of burbling synths and a driving techno beat. My favorite part is the twisted, screaming guitar that threatens apocalypse over it all. Thes guys put out a lot of extremely bizarre stuff, much of which is technically brilliant.
Surely you didn't think I was waxing religious??!! If so, shame on you. :furious3:

Re: what are you listening to right now.. yes RIGHT NOW!!
Whew ... need to balance that out a bit. How's this, an anthem of sorts since high school when it was fresh:
(This band needs no introduction):
Living easy, lovin' free
Season ticket on a one-way ride
Asking nothing, leave me be
Taking everything in my stride
Don't need reason, don't need rhyme
Ain't nothing I would rather do
Going down, party time
My friends are gonna be there too
I'm on the highway to hell
No stop signs, speed limit
Nobody's gonna slow me down
Like a wheel, gonna spin it
Nobody's gonna mess me round
Hey Satan, paid my dues
Playing in a rocking band
Hey Momma, look at me
I'm on my way to the promised land
I'm on the highway to hell
(Don't stop me)

Arch Enemy - We will rise.
Tear down the walls
Wake up the world
Ignorance is not bliss
So fed up with second best
Our time is here and now
I am the enemy
I am the antidote
Watch me closely
I will stand up - now
We will rise
Rise above
Stereotype Fools
Playing the game
Nothing unique
They all look the same
In this sea of mediocrity
I can be anything
Anything I want to be
We will rise

Harrison was an excellent guitarist, and underrated songwriter, but he doesn't really compare to Lennon, in my opinion, who was a bona fide musical genius...
I like Paul McCartney because he did so much to raise the profile of the bass guitar in rock music.

Yeah, but some of his stuff after the Beatles wasn't the best. Imagine was awesome, but his whole Yoko obsession was annoying. Don't get me wrong, I think John is awesome, I just like George more.

I'm more of a McCartney man, myself. Many a day i've put on 'yesterday' while sulking around the house and, for some odd reason, end up feeling better. ~:joker:

Tool
Sober
There's a shadow just behind me,
shrouding every breath I take,
making every promise empty,
pointing every finger at me.
Waiting like a stalking butler
who upon the finger rests.
Murder now the path called "must we"
just before the son has come.
Jesus, won't you f***ing whistle
something but the past and done?
Why can't we not be sober?
I just want to start this over.
Why can't we drink forever.
I just want to start things over.
I am just a worthless liar.
I am just an imbecile.
I will only complicate you.
Trust in me and fall as well.
I will find a center in you.
I will chew it up and leave,
I will work to elevate you
just enough to bring you down.
Trust me.
Mother Mary won't you whisper
something but what's past and done.
Trust me.
I want what I want.
Great song! ~D
