~ Hello everyone!
My name is Crian, I'm technically new here but I've been reading these forums for the past 2 years, and I felt that it's time I started posting. :2thumbsup:
I'm from the Philippines (and probably the ONLY one), and I'm a single player veteran of the Total War series. I've never played online before (high-speed internet in my hometown is expensive and we can't afford it so there...) I played Shogun for a year, then Medieval, and finally, Rome. I'm currently playing Rome: Total Realism because vanilla became so boring after a year. So hello again to everyone and I hope someday I could contribute something worthwhile to the community.
By the way, English is not my native language so kindly forgive any mistakes. :laugh4:
Hi Crian,
Welcome to the org.......Good on you for deciding to get involved.....hope you have a great time. :balloon2: :balloon2: :balloon2: :balloon2:
By the way....having played all 3 of the Total War games....do you have a favourite?
:hide: Arrgghhhh! What is it!? Make it go away!!Quote:

Thanks Matrixman! That's actually a very tough question... and I really can't give a simple answer. :sweatdrop:
In terms of the atmosphere, I feel that Shogun is the best as opposed to the other two (putting in consideration the time at which each game was released). The throne room, the excellent music and sound as well as the movies really immersed me in the game experience. In terms of gameplay... Medieval because of the huge variety! Overall though, it would be Rome (with RTR of course) because of all the features added through the lessons learned from the past two games... so there. :2thumbsup:
Hello everyone...
I have been reading this forum for a good while now and finally decided to register. My history with Total War games started years ago with Shogun, continued with Medieval & Viking Invasion and finally Rome Total War.
This game series is one of my all time favorites. This type of games have always been close to my heart... all the way from the ancient Sun Tzu's Art of War in the early 1980's.

well, to be sure, original picture is not my work. somebody else did it, i just use picture and with easy work with colour reduction and brightness get it darker(although im not darker) and red/black. for me it looks quite strong, girl on throne, nice position, and hood, with red eyes, that i believe u cannot see cuz its too small now.Quote:

Welcome to the Org Otomo, Tetsuo ~
Hey guys my name is Matthew and I've played Total War since the first release of Shogun Total War. I was the leader of the Silent Assassins and we won 3 CWCs and the first TWPL. I have been away from TW for about 5 months now and I plan on returning to gaming when MTW2 comes out. One of your moderators (Ichi) was a member of the Silent Assassins. I am not a part of a clan now and for now I am fine with just talking on the forums. :)
Hello and welcome to Manalainen, Nehesy, and Gigglisch.and Daman!......I'm a relative newbie as well. Hope you find the org to be as helpful and welcoming as I have.

hello!
i am stingerhs, and i hail from the state of South Carolina.
i enjoy a lot of different types of gaming genres, but my preference is in both FPS and RTS. right now, i've been doing a lot of experimentation with modding RTW. otherwise, you can catch me on the public BF2 servers whenever time permits.
outside of gaming, i'm currently attending a university for computer science, and i'm in my sophmore year.
Welcome to the .org stingerhs
Greetings!
I am Sir Garlon, named for the evil invisible knight from Le Morte D'Arthur. :knight: I hail from Massachusetts where I work as a software engineer.
I just dusted off my copy of MTW, which I could never get to run before. Thanks to you guys in this forum I have fixed my NVIDIA driver woes, and I now have another way to spend my bountiful free time. :laugh4:
Welcome Sir Garlon to the .org!!! And, congrats on getting your computer drive working again

Hello everybody!
I've been hanging around for a while and I must say I love this forum. After all great games such as TW series don't deserve anything less. Anyway, best regard to all the players and counting the days to see the latest edition, Medieval 2.
Aulus Paulinus
Hey, im new here, just saying hello
Another new member dropping in to salute the seasoned campaigners!
I'm bamff, from Queensland in Australia.
Still coming to grips with MTW, but enjoying it immensely (especially when my spies do identify a secret vice - some of those are hilarious!).
So far have tried out Byzantines, English, Danes, and HRE....I think I prefer either English or HRE of those 4...thought I'd have a go at the Italians or Poles next....any thoughts or suggestions?
Cheers & Beers
Hi, I`m a new member from Serbia
I only played RTW so far but I`ll try out other games in future.
Medievel II looks really good.

Howdy stingerhs, glad to have you here. ~ Sorry about the Panthers - I thought they had a chance.
Hail Sir Garlon of Massachusetts ~ Glad we got you on the road to Medieval goodness. LoL your "bountiful freetime"; try the Polish, I suggest; will early-on show you about diplomacy & the timing of invasions.
Dobre doshal Stephen Asen, welcome to the Org  What a good name you have chosen: steeped in controversy and mystery!
Ave, Aulus Paulinus, warm greetings from the Org ~ Always good to see a reader become a poster as well.
dude_138: dude, total grok the minimalist style. Props. ~
'ello bamff, right good to have you aboard. I bet you'd enjoy the Italians, sea-farers in MTW. The funniest (I think) vices revealed by spies come from the French generals/nobility. (No offense to actual Frenchmen intended).
Dobrodoshao - Добро дошао! Sarmatian, welcome to the Org ~ We have waited ages for more Serbs to join - yet, here are 2 in one month. The luck! :laugh4:
Yo im crop. Im new, I played shogun online yesterday but have forgotten the names of the people I played with. Sorry guys!

actualy this is something you have to thank duke, becouse he put link to .org on one of the most popular serbian forum about pc games. and fans of totalwar saw it, and here they are, and im one of them.
No offense... just embarrassment  so "Андрија is your name in Cyrillic font. I misunderstood Duke. Sorry for 'throwing your name around' town, mate. My ignorance is stunning sometimes.
Hi
I joined the org to post my appreciation for hoggy's blue lotus quite a long time ago, but my registration didn't work as it should have, so I didn't bother. But as hoggy's work progressed in therms of awesomness I tried again and it worked! I might as well post more often here. :2thumbsup:
Very cool community.
BTW: Hilarious smileys. :bounce:
:charge: :2thumbsup: Ave guys, Imperator Silas has arrived!
Hi boastj and Imperator Silas. Enjoy your time here.
Welcome back The_White_Knight!
Welcome everyone who joined since the 2nd September 2005 :juggle2: ~

Sorry I've been away so long!
Thanks for the tip KukriKhan - I will give the Italians a go....looks like a challenging position to start from on the map.
As for vices, yes the French seem to come up with some rippers. So do the Hungarians, but for some reason the Hungarian peasants seem less likely to get upset about it...just a curious thing I have noted so far - much harder to spark a revolt with them. Come to think of it, the few Hungarians that I have met were all pretty laid back and easy going ....
Another query for the experienced folks out there - I only have MTW. Is the "Viking Invasion" add on worth tracking down? It seems to be a little hard to locate here in Australia.
Cheers & Beers
Welcome to the ORG!!! Enjoy your time here, and don't be afraid to ask us questions.
-ZainDustin
I live in the UK, enjoy reading WOT and playing RTW, and am looking forward to MTW2 when it comes out.
Welcome to the .org.
The right place to visit.
Hello TW fans!
I have been playing TW games for a long time and decided it was time to join a forum to help you wait for MTW2.:laugh4:
I live in Green Bay, Wisconsin and I really enjoy computer strategy games!
TW GAMES RULE!!!
yo, hay sorry i havent been online in a long time, i've been busy:oops: , btw, welcome to the new year guys and to all new members lol:hippie:
Greetings and hallucinations from California! I'm Nick. I surf, study music, tend bar, and play Shogun, total war. I picked nepal for a name because I want to go there someday. Nice place you have here. Are there any rumors about a Shogun re-make?
Unfortunately the answer is no. The next Total War game is going to be a Medieval: Total War remake. However, there are Shogun mods for both M:TW (quite finished) and R:TW (still in progress), and no doubt someone will make a Shogun mod for M2:TW to. If you are interested in these mods, have a look at the Samurai Wars and Ran no Jidai fora.Quote:

Very glad to be here, because it seems like a great place for all TW lovers.
Looking forward to being part of this forum and cheers to you all!
I'm from Serbia too, I'm a fan of the Total War series ever since the old
and very little-known 1976 Creative Assembly game "Bigus Dickus: Totaw Waw".
Good day to you all,
I read in a recent post about giving your roman generals titles to improve their loyalty, such as Master of Infantry, Master of Cavalry or Master of Soldiers.
Does anyone know how this can be done.
Thanks
geoffrey
Ave! I'm new here and I look forward to.. well being here.

Greatings to DukeofSerbia for inviting me here, and to all other Srb members - make me proud :)
Greetings All,
Just joined the forum here a little bit ago.
I just recently purchased Medieval.
I have been a previous player of Rome and Shogun. Noth of which I loved.
Though frankly I found the challenge in Rome and Shogun to be lacking.
I am loving Medievel however.
I have already played one campaign as the French (Early Era) and another as the Welsh (Viking).
I am currently playing an early campaign of the Danes and having a good time with that. It has been a pretty exciting game.
I love the game and am looking forward to the mods and stuff.
I am very interested in the Barbarian mod for Rome but I do not want to install it and get sucked away from this game.
What is this XL mod for Medieval that I have read about, and where can I find it??
Welcome to the Org! Leave your shoes at the door, please.
But I am playing Medieval now, not Shogun anymore. So I think I will keep my armoured shoes on thank you very much 8-)Quote:
