Holy sweet lord! Caius, your mod is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! Honestly, you can compete with M2TW! Nay, you even beat them! I'm REALLY looking forward to your mod, Caius.
I'm so impressed that I read your story a couple of times and then closed my eyes, trying to imagine if I was there ...
Man this so goddly, we needs it! We needs!
If Caius had no limits in modding RTW he could probably make it better than M2 but after playing that demo I'd say it isn't as good as M2. It's definetly the best mod for RTW though.Quote:

Finally, which will be the meaning of the Holy Relics in the game?, will they attract more people to our cities? generate extra income?. thanx for the Patience!

Got no clue about the relics and traits... But concerning the economic system.... There won't be too many new buildings, and i doubt anything is going to change about that... But because of the map specifics and x turns per year script, every city, and every unit will matter, and thus a lot of economic and not only management will be required... To some extent it would be like in mtw 2. In some cities you would have to build economy only in others military...
And if you will be playing with garrison script...oh well.... God (s.w.t.) help you ))!
Here comes a small preview:2thumbsup: :
Muslim army vs Templars
Both armies are equal (same cost), though muslims got nearly twice as much troops on the field.
*Sorry for no description, i am really not good at "describing battles".

However, with the mmighty M2 looming on the horizon, will it be able to stand up to its inexorable onslaught? Only time will tell...
It is looking nice though..
Ai and player formations are already in the latest build. We are using the latest formations from the illustrious Darth Vader.
Arghh looks soooo good can't wait!
ROCK ON GUYS your mod is looking great keep it up guys:juggle2:
It looks like they're getting close on this mod.:coffeenews: I really like the crusader campaign setup.:charge: Beautiful artwork too! :2thumbsup:
I cant wait for this!! I like the campaign scripts Caius talked about, i think this mod is a real masterpiece.
I love th idea of a crusader mod and have been following this for a while as it's my fav. mod,
Great work Caius!
These are the best graphics I have ever seen..really.
I hope you use the latest latest of my formations (16.2)
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=62465
Yes we are using 16.2 and I must say they are fabulous!
Amazing unit-skins as always, Caius! As well the map-preview promises a lot of fun ~:thumb:
Do you intend to create a separate mod folder with the CA -mod function? Would be great, as i personally decided to install still only those mods, that do not overwrite vanilla, and overall, it is so much more userfriendly.
Sorry, if it was already mentioned in any posts ... what will be the victory conditions for the both factions, complete elemination or ...? And what is the end-date of the campaign, so how much turns have to (can) be played?
If you intend in future to extend the mod-design to also a realism/historical building/economy-model campaign (as i think i understood, it is rather planned to make a warefare mod-design), i will be there to help, if needed.
Caius, I would like to :help: with this mod too, whenever you call for betatesters. :director: ~D
Unfortunately we cannot use the -mod function when we are using the BI function. CA has informed use and testing has proven that using the -mod feature with BI doesn't work simply because its too much for the scan the mod folder, than the BI folder THAN the RTW folder. THis could be eleviated by including the entire BI folder in the my mod folder then running the RTW exe. Of course we can't do that (for legal reason and of course size issues).
The mod also edits several files in the RTW directory so that has to be taken into consideration as well. With all these issues we will be using the direct overwrite method. However nothing is stopping people from doing the necessary steps to have a mod folder.

Then the shortcut path must be, for example:
"E:\Games\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -show_err -nm -mod:bi/chivalry
This works ... and FRRE is as well a real BI mod, and is running with -mod.
But you might have indeed a problem in this relation as you say you have RTW mod files as well, although i'm not sure if there wouldn't be a workaround possible. However, i will then probably test out the mod-switch software, if this might work with 'Crusades'.
Sorry for the question, Caius :embarassed: ... but are you still planning to release the mod till the end of October?
Its already the end of october, october 30..i was expecting the release today..o well now i think its tommorow. Hope we get to play this a week or so before M2TW, because this is one of the greatest mods out there!

1) No new buildings. The keep, dome of the rock will be released at a later date.
2) No caravan mini-games. Because scripting has fallen behind with more essential scripts still being worked on this feature will be released at another time.
3) Crusades specific traits and relects - Traits are customized for the first release and made medieval-esque. However some of the traits have yet to be created such as the relects for muslims. Also not available are the "Crusades" title scripts such as our plan for Barons, Dukes, Amirs etc.
Other than those three things the crusades is essenitally done and ready for public consumption (apart from a few scripts still needing testing). The current campaign is not only very stable its also insanely hard. Rest assured that I am working as hard and as much as real life allows me to and I am trying my best to get the mod out sometime this week.
Sounds awesome Caius! :2thumbsup:
GIMME GIMME!! I can't wait!
Wow ive been waiting a while for this, may i congratulate you on all your hard work and hope that nothing comes up to push back the dead line. :)
YAY. Still need beta testers?
i wuold love to see all those scripts in game... especially the caravan mini games one.... take the time you need to finish those Caius i wont be moving on to MTW 2 soon im looking forward to the Crusades
Thanks for the answer, Caius!Quote:

I think that all those things, though important, aren't crucial... so may be included in the patch.
Sorry to sound noobish but what are caravan mini-games?
Good news btw!
the caravan mini game was a basic script that would generate an army and general and then tell it to move from it start point to a city with a port. In the crusader campaign you would have to destroy the army, and if you did you got extra gold. In the saracen campaign you had to escort it to the port. If it reached the destination you got extra gold. Its being left out not because of complexity (its a rather simple script) but because of time restraints.
Wow...from what i can see..its in the final stage of release...cant wait for it..but im calm, cool & patient for the full version (including new bulidings, mini games etc etc) of the crusade ... keep it up :2thumbsup:
Yea i cant wait..i would take a guess and say its gonna be released either later today or tommorow.
I just had to register to post another "thanks" comment, as annoying as they may be. I have to say i have given up on most mods for RTW and left the game and boards half a year ago, but i knew this mod would get released even with all the delays. I dont have much time for RTW these days but the timeframe and the attention to the mod is a sure sweet invitation for someone to play this.
It would be wise to spam this thing on multiple front pages to get as much publicity as possible.
Some screenshots from a battle while testing the Crusader Campaign.
In an attempt to develop a foot hold in Saracen lands I made a b-line for the strong holds. The screenshots below are from a battle where Phillipe II, fresh from talking Acre (who needs Richard the Lionheart :P) stormed the fortress at Safad. His infantry were able to take the gate house which allowed him to charge his cavalry into the fortress and eventually rest control from the saracen general.

I apologize for the continued delay. Aspects of the mod being created by other team members are taking longer than expected and their completion is out of my control. Please be patient.
@Caius - That Crusader General is my favorite. IMHO it's the best looking unit I've seen in any mod or any game.~;) The Saracen's look great too. Really cool! :2thumbsup:
Of all people, Caius, you´re actually the very last who needs to apologize, it´s not like you actually owe us something, rather the other way round. I mean, you dedicateyour spare time and energy for this project, it´s not like you´re our employee. The more I see this, the more I find the demanding attitude of fans disturbing and annoying. Don´t get me wrong, I´m as eager as the next man to play this mod, and I´ll download it as soon as I see the link.Quote:
