Red Orchestra is the best WW2 shooter ever made by far. Somehow I doubt the new Medal of Honor will outshine it. Any other WW2 shooters coming out.. i know Call of Duty went modern. :shame:
WHAT!!!! Call of DUty went modern!??!? NO!!!!!!!!!!
Right now I am playing Call of Duty 2, a bit of MTWII and Rise of Nations.
COD2 and MOH is trash compared to RO.
AGEOD's American Civil War.
I enjoy the strategic AI. I'm not confident enough or committed enough to start a PBEM, but I hope to soon. The AI is still giving me problems, and I'm progressing with the learning curve with regards to terrain, leadership, supply and other modifiers.
It's not an easy game as far as the strategy goes, but t there isn't much micromanaging to do, so most of your thinking is at the strategic level.
Quite enjoyable, and the developers are very active, patches and AI tweaks occur quite regularly.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
I managed to unlock all gamer achievements tonight.
what are the perks of unlocking gamer achievements? (my friend has a 360 not me)
Currently playing World of Warcraf (must stop getting addicted...)
And yesterday I played a bit of Warcraft 3, all those old memories came back...
Played some WoW last night, but Didn't even gain 1 exp since I'm level 40 I can't grind worth crap, one of the reasons I want to quit but my friend wont let me lol...
Also been playing a bit of Earth 2160, its kinda fun game.
I ordered an older game called "Act of War": Direct Action plus its expansion for 25 bucks that looks like CnC:Generals, but the expansion includes naval combat, and one of the greatest things to ever be placed into an RTS... the lethality modifier, which can make battles last longer. It has good reviews and the peeps at another forum I frequent said it rocks so I said, why not and ordered it.

Prey and Arx Fatalis.
Prey: servicable shooter with very good graphics and cool weapons. Not being able to die was a mistake, makes the game way too easy. Spirit walking is fun, and having a pet hawk is fun.
Arx Fatalis: OLD SCHOOL RPG BABY. Tough as nails, very moody. Great stuff.
just got off RO and played as maching-gunner (allies) on Danzig. i went to a great position (think of shooting down a lane at a pretty elevated level), its where the Axis route to get to the Command Centre. (pretty much the only one) and I slaughtered so many of them with my DP28. so much fun..
I've started Final Fantasy VI on my gameboy micro. While I've played other FFs more than once, this is the first time I've tried VI. Its reputation preceededs it - as do some fat spoilers I didn't want. Oh well, so far so excellent.
Act of War:Direct action and Eve online atm.
When I can, I'm playing Super Metroid and Earthbound.
I played some Ratchet and Clank last week, seems like a decent game, though 3D platformers will probably never be as good as their 2D equivalents.
Well, since the 1.02 patch I'm totally into M2:TW again.
Continued my French short campaign yesterday, right after work. Just a couple of turns before I go out sporting...
10.00 pm: still playing, no working out, feeling a bit hungry, my wife watching television, a bit grumbling and a tiny bit upset :shame:
Great game :2thumbsup:
Dungeon Keeper 2.. I'd rather be playing the first, but alas it doesn't seem to work. :embarassed:
Red Pixel (http://www.allegro.cc/depot/RedPixel/). A very cool free action game. It's just about collecting weapons, ammo, and shooting the other and nothing else.
Puzzle Quest demo. Compulsively.
HoI II : Doomsday, as Nationalist Spain. Annexed all of Portugal's territories now.

Medal of Honour Airborne
which are both coming out in July. Already released I'm considering:
Company of Heroes
Call of Duty 2
C&C Tiberium Wars
Playing:
BF 2 (Special Forces)
Patrician 3
Considering:
Company of Heroes
C&C The First Decade (or C&C 3)
Just Cause. PS2.
Pro Evo 6
Just got Super Mario Strikers, it's simply fantastic. Gorgeous graphics, easily the best looking Wii-game, and the gameplay is simple but oh so very fun and addictive.
9/10 :2thumbsup:
I was playing Oblivion before a power cut rudely turned it off. Gah!
Picked up Dragon Quest VIII again, and spent some time sorting my party out with better gear and a few more levels. I'll start forging on through the plot again next session.
FFVI remains fun, and my Byzantine campaign in vanilla M2TW is presently interesting in the most Chinese of senses, i.e. doom and death are but a step away unless the vastly outnumbered armies of frogdom continue to perform near-miracles. :sigh: So many full stacks to kill, so little time.
I got a loan of Obvlivion off a friend for about 2 days. I managed to complete the main quest and then tried to grab gamerpoints. It was fun and interesting although the story was like something I had seen before. Actually it reminded me of Final Fantasy X.
Also play unranked Gears of War nearly every night with some friends I met online. Very sociable game, fun too.
Also play COD 3 online ranked. I am ok with Axis but excel with the Allies. Allied Rifleman M1 Garand makes most other weapons obsolete at long range except snipers on some maps. Heavy Assault BAR is just like the Garand but with 20 in a clip and can be reloaded at any time (trick is to use it as a rifle rather than holding in the fire button which makes it inaccurate and difficult to see with). I love switching between those if I find them lying around.
RTW and FFVII...again...
Recently, I've been playing X-Com: Ufo Defense. The game has a fairly large number of niggling little issues, but the core concept and gameplay is still very solid, despite the game's age.
Total Annihilation
I finished VII...again....and picked up FFX...again....honestly, I need new games!
Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven
Anyone play this game? You sneak up and stealth kill people, it's a more realistic simulation of ninjas, quite the contrary to Ninja Gaiden.
Started playing some Dawn of War again, the original campaign for the first time and a little bit of dark Crusade (campaigning as Chaos).
I sense that Firaxis and Sid Meier might be making a remake of this in the near future.Quote:

Overall I just thought the skirmish game offered in the demo was less fun than a DoW skirmish.Quote:

Little bit of Mortal Wombat for the Wii. Pretty cool, but making special moves got a little bit too easy imvho, and to make up for that they made the AI hidiously hard to beat. Still fun playing with a friend, but while the moves are easy to pull of, the learning curve for doing so is very steep; people find it unresponsive at first (it isn't, just takes a while before get it) and go for the classic controller, which gives the wiimote holder an unfair advantage because he doesn't have to move to do special moves, like in scorpio's spear for example, you can throw it while moving forward if you use the wiimote. Still a good fighting game, but way too hard, to play and to get into. For hardcore gamers only.

I just decided to stop playing WoW (for the 21.367th time), and re-installed Heroes of Might and Magic 5, with the Hammer of Fate addon. Since I've never finished vanilla game, I'm doing the campaigns once again before having a look at HoF.
If you are addicted to WoW, a terrible sin, I know the remedy. Guaranteed to work 100% or your money back.
Step 1. Turn on Computer.
Step 2. Log in.
Step 3. Open up Control Panel.
4. Double left click Add and Remove programs.
5. Scroll down to World of Warcraft.
6. Breathe deeply.
7. Click Remove.
8. Confirm Yes.
9. Go wash your hands (by now they will be sweaty).
10. Find World of Warcraft cd.
11. Place thumbs about 3 inches apart on CD, with the rest of your fingers on the other side.
12. Apply 1KG force with fingers upwards, and 1KG force downwards with thumbs, twisting the CD until it shatters into several hundred pieces.
13. Enjoy the rest of your life.
Finally installed Anachronox, and have got Curse of Monkey Island to work under ScummVM on OSX. Should keep me occupied between rowing.

Other than that, started palying Wesnoth and still playing DoW.
Exams be damned !
Lovin Battlefield 2142 Online at the moment,
Always pop into Eve Online
Just starting Greek campaign in RTW
and I've just bought FEAR for the weekend.
So many games so little time. Damn having to work.
I would damn having my girlfriend too, but she's too lovely.
Sims 2 Deluxe, just noticed how good it is.
Still play RO of course.
Trying out KOTOR2. Loved the first one, no idea why I never bothered to pick this up. I was watching Episode 3 with my 8 year old nephew the other day, and that was enough to make me wanna try out the Dark Side in another CRPG. So far, it's really enjoyable.
I'm also playing MTW2 again after a month or two hiatus, the 1.2 patch and the mod Stainless Steel have breathed incredible new life into that game for me.
Lots of Battlefield 2, with the occassional small binge on Sim City 4. Lots of tasty mods make it much better. Shame Rush Hour is so unstable and every now and then CTD's.
Picked up Hitman Contracts for 5 €.
Finished the 2nd mission yesterday evening (the mission where you need to kill the "Meat King" and his lawyer):
Silent Assasin rating :2thumbsup:
I was afraid my assasin skills would have become rusty, since it's been several years since I finished Hitman 2. Apparantly I still got the touch.
Can't wait to eliminate my next target...
Hardly playing games but if I do it is usually in the Org's Arcade and any game I find there for personal amusement purposes. Their simplicity is relieving.
Uplink and I hate to say it but WoW`
C&C:Renegade (again!)
I just noticed that when I came into the server I was all the time in, I was 600 in the rank, now Im 114!
God of War :2thumbsup:
Whoohoo! I've finished Dragon Quest VIII! 68:47 hours! Months of playing! Finished!
It's probably the JRPG I enjoyed the most since ... I don't remember when. I liked the way it played to its classic, almost cliched theme and plot, turning it into a joke. Yet when it counted it was still touching. The gameplay side of things was as good. The random battles were rarely too frequent and there were many means to cut down on them, as well as a flee command which actually worked (gasp!) and the ability to intimidate low level enemies into running away.
I saw both endings, but didn't do everything. I couldn't see the point in spending hours in the casino gambling to get the best equipment, or grinding to boost my characters another 20 levels to take on the completely pointless extra bosses. Much as I enjoyed the game, after 68 hours enough is quite enough.
Still working my way through FFVI.
Pretty long game, though it still doesn't beat my initial run through FFVIII of more than 100 hours (nearly 120 iirc). God I hated that game in the end :laugh4:Quote:

Also picked up God of War on the recommendation of a few people here and in the land of real world. So far its ok, not bad but not especially good either. I'm only 20 minutes in, too early to judge.
Dark Age of Camelot, the best MMORPG out on the market if you enjoy actual TACTICS in PvP.
Yeah I think I understand you and agree with you. I don't own a 360 and GOW, but playing at friends house, it feels so repetitive. I don't feel like playing all the time. (After RO I can't stop!)Quote:

It seems terribly easy to just repeat the same move and 'lock' your opponent so they can't do anything, but we're probably missing something about escaping such situations.
Depends on the player. It's quite easy, which I find makes it relaxing to play. It's not a pretty game if you care about that. There are some bugs and oddities left in which won't be patched; nothing game breaking or devastating. While many of the standard features are there, including the abysmal military side of things, it's not a standard city builder, so if you want a Caesar clone this isn't what you are looking for.Quote:

It has some different ideas, and it's these which make the game for me. Firstly citizens will go and get goods they require - the walker system of the old Impressions games is gone and dead, and I'm not sad to see it go. Instead each house has a radius in which it will travel to get goods. Place something providing the desired service inside that radius and off the home owner will go when he's got a spare minute after work. Better houses have more needs, and a larger radius accordingly. They also pick up extra characters to go gather resources: wife, child, slave. Walkers don't need roads either; you can build the entire city without a single tile of road if you wish. That wouldn't be a good idea, as roads speed up travel.
Secondly housing will need to be moved twice to upgrade to the maximum level; the mid-level and high class housing both have different footprints to the standard poor housing you lay out plots for. Insulae can be placed above most of the shop types, and I find myself very appreciative of that. It looks very neat when you have a street of insulae with shop signs, stalls and busy shoppers bustling along it. You can move any house at any time, whether it needs to upgrade or not, which can be handy on occasion.
Thirdly there's research. It's not a massive change to the formula, more a different flavour. It allows you to boost areas of your city to suit your needs and gives you options. Want more meat to support your growing population? Build more goat farms and butchers - or spend money and time to research animal husbandry for a 50% boost to production. Your choice.
Many of the reviews I've seen felt overly harsh to me. Like the reviewer didn't get the game, didn't want to, and didn't care. I wouldn't claim it to be a great title, however. It's merely good and enjoyable, and presently it's available very cheaply.
Don't city builders usually score quite badly anyway? I remember fuming at more than a few reviews back in the hayday of the genre.
Started playing Magical Starsign on the DS. Me like.
Romance of the three kingdoms VII and XI-for games apart but both are very good games focused on strategy. Focused on the fictional story of the fall of the Han dynasty in China.
Kessen III-the third installment in a great series that foucuses of the sengoku jidai perios of Japan. Innovative combat sysytem. Story focuses of Oda Nobunaga.
And a great classic..
Suikoden II-considered by some to be the best RPG of the all time. 108 different characters in this great story line based RPG. Despite it being a ps1 game it still has great replay value. If you doubt me, on ebay the cheepest price i found was 100 us dollars, 350 at its highest.
I prefer the original Kessen dont you agree?Quote:

I wish i could say but i cant get my hands on a copy of the orginal or nthe second one. I alwayd get outbid at least moment and my local gamestop only carries III:sweatdrop:
Medieval - Total War, after a long-long-long hiatus I'm modding/alpha-testing again.
I agree. Of all the old CB's only Zeus got any overwhelmingly positive critical response, and it's probably because it's the simplest among the lot (no multiple food requirements, fewer service buildings, etc. Man the Greeks are a pretty happy-go-lucky bunch).Quote:

Right now I'm playing Caesar IV and getting worked up over it. It's so...paradoxical. On one hand it's pretty and the new service system is awesome, sayonara roadblocks! It also feels very much Impression-like which is a point Children of the Nile fails miserably on. On the other hand the service radius is so ridiculously low it's pissing me off. What Pluto-cursed Roman city needs more than one Colosseum anyway? Food production is inadequate half the time and playing "governor" with Caesar sending you all over the place feels like a step back story-wise from Zeus and Emperor.
I can't decide whether it's fun or annoying.
That's what got me. No matter how many farms and food distribution buildings I slapped down my city was always starving. Half the map was covered in farms and still it wasn't enough for a tiny population. My granaries were empty, my food shops were empty, and my plebs where whining like merry hell. No where could I find an equivolent to the old report which told you how much food you were producing, leaving me more frustrated. That report had been in every game since Caesar III! Why cut it now?Quote:

I always found CC:R to be by far the more enjoyable of the pair.
In CC:R there is no need to have 6 of each high-end entertainment building; people will walk to them, so unless you plan badly there is never need for a second of each. That was one thing I hated about the old Impressions games. If it's a one of a kind semi wonder of the ancient world why the devil should you need more than one? Just make them really expensive to build and give them map-wide coverage or something.Quote:
