Nice pics!
Here's another one of mine, made of three pictures.. shame that my camera takes only 2 pics/sec

Absolutely beautiful pictures Azi. What kind of camera did you use? The clarity and colour are amazing.
The Mark, what do you mean when you say the picture was made from 3? Are you referring to the "three" birds?
Yes, two birds were photoshopped on top of one of the base pictures.
Thank you Gregoshi. Would you believe that I just used a (three years ago) Sony Cybershot 2.0 Megapixel camera. It was all of $200 back then.
And Viking, are you a kiwi? I had heard so often how beautiful NZ is. And it is true.
I daresay you could not even buy the little fella now. If you could, it might be $40 or $50. To be sure, I did increase the picture size, from my standard 640 x 480 to 1280 x 960, which helped. But beyond that...I think it was the beautiful country that helped my shots look good. Well that and the huge number of pictures I took. I had my laptop with me on that trip to NZ so I could take ~50 per day and then ship them to the computer and take 50 the next day too.
I used the digital camera for all but the mountain side, which was a disposable actually.
The following are more from my trip (and all with my little digital camera)
The outback of Australia after walking for a while

A so-called 'warm' glacier in NZ. The picture is little because I took a bunch that day

This is a shot over the back of the Nevis Bungee jump location. I highly recommend bungee jumping. Once. But hey, I did it ~:)

This shot is from N. Stradebroke Island (kind of a party island a ways away from Brisbane where I 'studied'). Are there any free programs I can use to get rid of the #*$@#*$ orange numbers on a variable surface? I had those on there becuase I did not realize that my camera automatically records the date too, but hidden as part of the camera file.
https://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a...k4thebeach.jpg
But I do know how to do it for numbers that on a constant surface (such as black or grass)

Thank you for the compliments guys. Enjoy.

re the mountain picture by azi: i did some work on this one per your enhancement request. i'll just post these and then comment.

in the first one, this one has two problems, the loss of detail a bit due to being in the shadows and your lower resolution camera, and, it changes the picture. the foreground being now in light draws attention away from the mountain top in the background, which in my opinion, is the biggest draw to this image.
in the 2nd one, i subdued the lighting a bit more than the first one and i think it's better. but it still has some of the same problems as the first one.
so, in the third, i changed things a bit. i re-cropped the picture to highlight the mountains in the background and did no lightening of the foreground.
and per your last request on the beach photo and the numbers, yes, you can remove these fairly easily with the clone tool in psp, or the rubber stamp/clone in photoshop. if you dont want to invest in either of those for now, try 'The Gimp' or 'Gimpshop'.
and again, nice pics!

No, I`m a Norwegian viking. It`s just that NZ(some parts of it at least) reminds me incredibly much of Norway; even though it`s on the opposite side of the world. That`s cool.Quote:

And I will have to check that out for the #*$ orange letters. Boy did I feel silly when I realized I did not need to have it on to date my pics....
You do great work. Thank you ~:)
Azi
thank you :) and you're welcome :)
K.
hey azi, i'm sure krae did a better job, but i had already done these last night, so what the heck.
i tried to 'enhance' two of your NZ pics above with gimpshop. like krae, i croped your mt. cook pic, but only a little. it's fairly simple and fun to do this minor stuff i'm doing with gimpshop, btw.

BJ,
on your first one, i think you got a better cast to the foreground than i did, but you missed one tiny edge on the right going up that foreground hill. trust me, that's nitpicking. it looks great.
and on the 2nd one, very well done! nice vibrant colors and contrasts!
K.
hey thanks krae! it's weird the first pic looked better to me before than it does now. i guess it was a lot brighter in my computer room earlier. now the foreground in that pic looks a little too bright to me, oh well. btw, could you point out the edge you are talking about, i can't see it. :embarassed:
thanks again. i'm still trying to figure out how to duplicate your retouch of that model pic.. dumb neat-image isn't free.
Souvenirs!
Just got back from an overnighter in Ottawa, Canada's capital. Gorgeous city. Worst and most expensive parking on Earth. Hit a few museums, had a great meal at a Scottish pub, and almost pissed my pants and broke down and cried when I came face to face with a Lancaster bomber at the National Aviation Museum. I got goose bumps and my knees went weak. If I was ever to come home to triplets, it would be nearly the same reaction.
What did I bring home?
These!

A bottle of Booker's Best. 126 proof straight keg bourbon. $80 a bottle and worth twice the price. The Axe is a Gransfors Small Forest Axe. Highest quality steel, razor sharp. can't wait to take this little sweetie to work tomorrow. ~D
Not sure when I'll open the whisky. Soon probably.
Try not to piss your pants, especially after drinking a shot and going to cut trees. ~D
BJ,
well, it's nitpicking at its highest. the line i'm talking about is a narrow whiteish line between the sky and the hill on the right, top half. most folks would look at it and think it was just a glow line. in fact, it may be, and i may be all wet :)
it's a nice job.
also, realize that in those two 'enhancements' of mine on the mountain scene, i was overdoing it on purpose to bring out the foreground. i think it looks better subdued and cropped a bit.
K.
I could get used to this guys...I provide the pics...you make them look as good as they do in my memories (:
And I do have 1100 from that trip... ~;)
Nah, I'll only post the best.
But what exactly do you do Beirut that you need whiskey and an axe? And is it fun? Sounds like it could be....

the following two pictures are not meant as corrections at all. they are simply different effects applied to an already gorgeous picture just for the sake of fun and having a different look at things.

Sorry nm
This is fun. I take good pictures. Kraellin makes them look even better. With your software Kraellin, is it hard to do this stuff?
Since we know he is an expert at enhancing what is already there...I wonder if he can get rid of a certain doofus ruining what should be a great picture...
https://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a...SeeIamhere.jpg
I think that would be tough. You've no clue what is behind me...err...the doofus...doh...
This one might be easier since the person ruining the shot is in the dark but...
https://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a...Walk5power.jpg
Maybe yes, maybe no.
Personally, I really like this one too...but is there anyway to increase the sharpness? I know it is little (taken at 640 x 480) but still...with the camera being confused, it seems to me it is a little fuzzy. It seems to me the rays should be, but I don't know about the rocks and trees.

This is cool. I knew I should have checked this thread out earlier...
Azi
well, i have no idea what to do with that last pic, but i tried my hand at the first two, just for skits and wiggles, so to speak.

BJ,
thanks :)
but dont put yourself down. i go on that retouchpro site and some of the folks there make me look like a stick figure creator :)
no, no watermark. it's a freebie if you only use it for non-commercial purposes. the pro version is the one they charge you for.
