mon e scots. 3-1, night night sheva, you diving ****.
Slight inebriation, but I'll keep it brief. Excellent start. Utter pumpage first 10
minutes. Superb endeavour. McCulloch's strike of the highest possible quality,
shame he had to argue with the ref and be suspended. Two stonewall penalties
denied for us by the Dutch official. Near definite penalty for the Ukrainians also
denied. Dutch policy seemingly give nothing.
Cue many shots from distance for them, many long balls. Mostly ineffective. Fat
Pie Voronin, ineffective. So many Ukrainian dives in the box late on. No matter.
The LEGEND, he need not be named, kills the game. Excellent strike near post. I
am done. [Media bias to be ignored.]
It don't matter. He's Brazilian. Portuguese descent, same thing.
To all you dutchies:
IN YOUR FACE!!!!

ROMANIA - Holland
1 - 0
I just heard. Well done by your lot, edyz.
Notable Results:
Armenia 0-0 Serbia
[Looks to be over for Serbia now. Waiting for an update from our man over there.]
Belarus 0-1 Luxembourg
[Luxembourg win a competitive match for the first time in 12 years. 90th minute*
goal. How do they feel in Belarus now?]
Republic of Ireland 0-0 Germany
[Germany qualify for Euro 2008. I don't really think there was too much doubt
that they would, but congratulations all the same. Oh, and Lehmann was in goal,
at his erratic but reassuringly solid best.]
*[Make that 90 minutes + 5. Sickener.]
Faroer - France 0-6. Two more games, against Lithuania and the Ukraine. Ukraine away could be tough, but I still expect six points. That would suffice, since the crunch match in the group is Scotland - Italy next month. They can't both win, so whatever the result there, we qualify at the expense of either one if we win our matches. :2thumbsup:
That's three in the bag for you already then. I think you'll win against Georgia too. It's a fine team you've got, must be. You wouldn't still lead this group if you didn't.Quote:

France has a goal difference of 21-1 out of the other eight games, and 0-2 against Scotland. In fact, we lost only three qualifying games in all tournaments ever since 1994 combined, two of which against the Caledonians...
Anyway, we beat Italy 3-1 at home, which will ensure our qualification. If you think sheva is a diving ****, rdeče, wait till you meet the antics of the Azurri. How well Scotland can cope with that will most probably decide the outcome of this group...

A perfunctory win against Estonia for us, and the Scots juggernaut (crikey, that doesn't sound right) rolls on!
I was looking at the entry for McFadden on Wiki the other day, and noticed that his goals record for Everton is only 10 in 101 games. Yet he is banging in outrageous strikes for Scotland every match. Bizarre.
Edit:
Don't Scotland play him on the left?
Edit:
He was a lone striker against us, in a 4-5-1 system. (Wait, make that 7-2-1 :furious3: )
If we win against Georgia [by the way, it seems our plan may be to blind them
- we will wear our as yet unseen third kit. As we're usually unimaginative with
these things I'd put money on it being yellow or orange.] can you imagine the
atmosphere when the Italians arrive? And not only in terms of sound; there
was so much smoke on the pitch just prior to the kick-off today you could've
believed there'd been a few cannon barrages just to warm the crowd up.
The players looked possessed, perhaps trying to deal with the occasion
themselves, but they certainly hit the Ukrainians in the opening stages.
Nerves took over after the second goal, though.
I do still think that about him, Louis, although I will reiterate that I was stillQuote:

Kiev and we lost a player and a penalty for it. Perhaps he redeemed himself
somewhat in his post-match interview with Scottish television when he briefly
conceded in his own broken English that we actually "have good team", or
something like that.
And we all know what the Italians do best. If they're not killing a game off
with keep-ball they're rolling about like there's no tomorrow. I particularly like
the secondary bounce they achieve after the initial impact with the turf.
[I've probably said this before, yes.] It's good viewing from a comedic
perspective, though I may have to utter a few more unrepeatables if they
actually gain anything from it.
As for the Scotland performances. Well, I won't say it had been coming, because
I don't think anybody foresaw some of these results. Domenech has said some
disparaging things about Scotland's approach to the game of late [or so I've
heard] but I tend to think we have offered more, and at crucial times in games.
Lippi's contrasting comments now seem, surprisingly, to have been close to
the mark, although I still believe they were more likely his own passing
attempt at mindgames.
Players you might have been unaware of; Scott Brown in particular, are
capable of adding flair to the work-rate and commitment of this team.
McFadden has shown his ability for a good number of years now, and the
way he was running at defenders today, beating them easily for pace,
nutmegging them, and so on... it's refreshing to see that kind of confidence
spreading throughout a Scotland team. There is clear quality there, as belief
and a will to win can only carry you so far. Not this far into a campaign.

Well now for instance Rangers and Celtic have really good scottish players. With most of their first 11 being scottish. A few years ago their teams were filled with cheap foreign players. There are other really good players not playing for those two as well such as McFadden and Gordon.Quote:

Yes, that's the stock explanation. Thankfully not all of those crucial players areQuote:

Edit: Scott Brown and Alan Hutton are definitely out for the game in Tbilisi, which
is a terrible blow. It looks like Graeme Murty might be in, and I can't say I really rate
him that much.
Yeah meant Euro 2008.Quote:

But when you have the lure of managing a club in the premiership I guess managing Northern Ireland doesn't compete. He always said that he wanted to be a club manager again and I accept his decision (I would of chosen the same if I was in his position).
That's just it if we had beat latvia it would of been easier and we probably could of went on to beat Iceland. Confidence is everything in international football.
I was quite content on not mentioning that sorry excuse for a match at all.Quote:
