If you insist on provoking don't cry if it works. The only thing that could make it even more beautiful would be the ambulance ariving too late because of more of these useless hippies organising a flashmob a street further. Driver should be charged for attempted manslaughter of course but I am pretty hehe.

Is that Fritzl before his arrest? Wait, it's the Helvetian brotherhood. Bichsli shuld have taken a left and a right turn, then he wouldn't be in jail now. Sheehs what a jerk. :laugh4:

In case anyone cares, the voice is swiss. :sweatdrop:
This appears to be it (in German).

Heh, thanks.
It appears they wanted to stop him and he didn't agree with them in a rather...extreme way. One of the protesters got hurt quite badly because he was dragged along with the car for 150m. You have to say though, those guys usually gather on the streets to engage in violence and in a way they got what they wanted. :dizzy2:

Is that true?
Here we also pay fees for public TV and I don't because I have one. Although the choice was partly removed when they put some streams online and wanted the same fees for computers with internet access. Then they decided to just charge the radio fees for that(private households only pay once no matter how many TVs/radios they have) after a lot of people complained. To be honest, there are worse things you hardly have a choice in like my heating costs. :sweatdrop:
Well, not to derive the thread, here is a nice video of uncle Putin supposedly being nasty and you get some nice footage from the receiving end of a russian air-to-air missile. ~D

You're not given the choice to pay your taxes either.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be hostile. It just baffles me that people would mention tax money when describing who driving through a crowd of people with your car is wrong. That shouldn't have anything to do with it.

No worries. No offense taken. Frag started with tax payers money and I simple retorted with the fact that either way my tax money would be spent pointlessly - either on stopping those good-for-nothing youths or the imprisonment of the lunatic in car.

I'm not ashamed to say that I certainly felt a little emotional watching this, especially from 3:00 onwards.

Stop complaining about it. Don't start something you can't finish. If they'd held out a year longer this is what they would get. Don't forget that the bomb was designed to counter Germany, not Japan.

Stop complaining about what? I don't recall having complained at all, just feeling a little emotional and proud of the history of my country. The song talks about national identity, and nothing else.

Funny thing this, the nuclear bombings of Japan. Instead of letting soldiers, who have volunteered for the cause, die, lets finish off a 220,000 civilians. Was it the libertarianism that shone through? :2thumbsup:

Re: backroom video thread
I think in WW2 the US also had conscripts and the estimated death toll for an invasion of Japan was 1 million soldiers on the US side only, so you could add to that all the dead japanese soldiers and all the civilians who would have died in the fighting. In that light nuking two cities might have actually been the better option, at least concerning overall dead humans.

Hell yeah let's kill the other guys to save our troops. Isn't that the point of war? :dizzy2:
To get this thread back on track, let's see a video about a man who spent four days in jail and $400 in fines for an OVI in Ohio - operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Thing is, he was walking his bike on his front lawn and an officer smelled beer on his breath - after they came to fine him for not having a headlight on his bike. Oh, he also got his license suspended for six months.

That's just pure speculation anyhow; would an invasion necessarily be necessary in the end? And how about starting with military installations rather than going straight for civillians?

Ah, so deliberatly mass murdering civilians is suddenly ok now, huh?

There're no easy answers to the Hiroshima issue. And the point was the shock value more than the destruction. IIRC the firebombing of Tokyo killed more people than the nuke dropped on Hiroshima, and it was performed with conventional weapons and was aimed at the Tokyo industrial center, a military target of sorts. One way or another, however, this thread is not the place to discuss it.

Re: backroom video thread
You could always try posting in the appropriate forum, like the Monastery for example. Just a thought.

Yes, but from experience, this kind of spin-off can go on for pages. The post below yours is a good one.

Spin-off discussions allowed? Absolutely yes.
Spin-off discussions should take place in the backroom video thread? Absolutely no.
Start a new thread on the topic, either in the backroom or the monastery. Leave this one for vids.
