They appear in almost everymod, for some reason. Oh, any chance we can expect a patch to fix the Black sea? Or at least, tell us to do it. Started a new game with the Sicilians, since it's hard to do much with the Kievans with the Black Sea all weird

In my Game as Egypt (like the mamlukes btw http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif ) England survived and managed to conquer France and parts of Germany http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif Strange since this is after a teutonic Crusade against Wessex comming from Scotland. Scotland have Northumbria but the Welsh are gone.
The Geogians declared war on The latins and captured Constantinople and now hold Greece (except East province), Serbia and Bulgaria.
The Turks and Byzantines have been slugging it out for about 20 years now but no changes in provinces.

BKB I think Order Of The Dragon is pretty much what Vlad said. Its members were high nobility and kings. It was present in central and eastern Erupoe in many countries.
Nomad So what you're saying is that serbians fought against serbians? Fair enough, but than that means that Rac horseman and Serbian gussars would be identical units but with a different name.

I also saw the wessex ship transport issue mentioned before (can't ship trops form wessex despite having ships in channel and a port, but can ship troops in), but it seemed to fix itself, maybe when the era changed, I can't remember
I've also got the black sea problem can't get ships in or out. I took trebizond with a crusade and built a ship to see if i could get it out and couldn't. I think that that the ai could get out though, the turks reappeared along the black sea coast and a few year later I'm sure I saw a turkish ship in the med, but the reappeared turks had never had a province on the med coast (I had matteosartori activated so I could see what the new factions were doing)
oh and the 'warden of the welsh marches title' is given when you build a royal estate (I think), but disappears when you upgrade it. If you build another esate elsewhere the title reappears. This must be because it's assigned to the building which as far as the game is concerned is dstroyed when it's upgraded?
A patch will be recitfying these problems.
Just on a side note, how to the new factions cope with the mongol invasions?
M8 see if you fix something with the almorids yesterday i had a civil war in early stages of the game in the same time i was atacked in 2 fronts

Some comments:
- Albanian warrior (150 to build, 22 upkeep) looks very overpowered for such a cheap unit. A 60-man unit with armor piercing, better attack than Varangian guard, and granted less defence and armor. But still, the Guard took 500 gold and 2 years to build.
- With the addition of Korean javelin and spear and the camel, the golden horde is less menacing now. In the old days you always wonder how you're going to counter the massive archeries from the mongol horse arches and warriors. Now 40% of the units are the koreans, 35% the heavy cavs and camels, and the rest horse archers and warriors.
- It's funny how the Latin States first move in the high age is always an all-out attack to Trebizond leaving Constantinople wide open for the taking. I've played with Bulgarians and Byz and both times the Latin did the same thing. Of course, I just sent everything that I had to Constantinople http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/bigthumb.gif .

Can't do much about the golden horde. The only way to put the cavalry back on top would be taking the koreans out. I do see that often with the latin states. I'll have a look into it. Albanian warriors will be reduced
Another thing, m8. The Sicilo-Norman knights walk/run while holding their swords by the tips. They fight fine, but it does look kinda funny.
How about mu idea to split up the Sahara desert? Maybe making 2 or 3 provinces from it? Maybe cutting Kazaar to (making one lesser kazzar) as well as the large provinces in the top corner of the map.

I'm finding out why HRE always disappear. I'm playing as a German ruler and it's almost the hardest game I've ever played. First 5 year was easy, then Genoa, Bohemia and Croatia attacked me (the same year). I spent 5 years to regain my provinces, defeat their armies, and take their provinces. Pope supported only Genoa so I light fire in their capital...
Then I had 40 years of peace and prosper. I spent it well. But about 1150 attacked me Danes (reappeared in Denmark). I defeated them, but Kievians from Sweden (yes - they reappeared in Sweden) attacked them in their back. So Denmark was over, but huge (3000) army start to fight with my small forces (they defeat 2500 soldiers last year) and took Saxony. And the show started: Venetian took Tirol, English attacked Burgundy and Provence, Hungarian King conquered my Croatia, Polish - Bohemia. After 5 years France and Navarra started to cut into pieces HRE like a cake. Fortunately I had stone upgreaded keeps with balistas so every assault was bloody. I built also inns, and now it was a good time to spent all my money for mercenaries. But first I had to cut my borders - I destroyed all infrastructure in Brandenburg and Frisia. And then I started to fight and burn, fight and burn... I destroyed Hungary, Poland and 6 provinces in France. King of France proposed her daughter as a guarantee of peace (France had only Aquitaine on the continent after 20 years of war). Poland is very week after war and waiting for last attack of my army - I want them in empty province.
Now is time to crush Navarra and Venice with their nice infantry...

In late and high, when the cumans have been defeated and weren't much of a faction anymore, a lot of cumans settled down in central and eastern europe. I know for a fact that a lot of them have settled in Hungary and pretty much became hungarians. They were widely used as cavalry, mainly mounted archers. Hungarians actually became quite fond of them, they were used even in the late 16th century
Perhaps they could be considered as an extra unit for the region. I suppose it wouldn't require much of an effort since their units already exist, you could just reassign them to certain factions for later periods.
i played with english in early, expert. thank God for those norman knights and saxon huscarles. i wiped out welsh in 3rd turn than i start build up my economy. than i was attacked by the navaresse and i lost gascony after a fierce battle.considerind my great defend they didnt attack anjou.and after a few turns we made peace. than scots attacked me but thanks to a great earl , norman knight ( 100 men unit ) i beat them like hell. they lost almost entire army and i captured wallace.now everything is going alright , i have fair commerce and i build up my provinces preparing myself for a great crusade in Antioch. almost all factions are up and running except of Amlohads wiped out by the egyptians and almoravids. genovese reappear venitians kicked out sicilians out of continental italy.byz ar powerful as well as then germans.
problem is that in 1156 when i attack Ireland ( completly neutral , no allies ) the game crash .it crashed twice , first in 1155 when i pointed ok on some message and then crashed after the battle in 1156 also when i pointed an ok to an message. anyclue?

No but it might help me determine why it crashed. What was the message? Was it the same on both occassions?
The Cumans really need that King in High. Are you sure he was 9 stars when the game began? Perhaps he built himself up.

well it was after i defeat the irish king .he was trapped in a castel .i cant remnember exactly but i think it is the first message that appear after the battle.unfortunatley i didnt save , i started another campaign and i think the autosave is lost.but i'll start again the game with english

Again, great job. I did have one suggestion, could you tune down the Norse economy in Super Early? With easy access to Sweden and already holding Iceland, you can pretty quickly get 2 provinces with well over 1K of annual income each with a minimum investment, not to mention 800+ from Norway. It seems that once they get Sweden, they become the power in the North, especially with Iceland and Sweden both with Iron.
I will have to say, it is fun to play as the Norse, it is an easy early game with them, you have almost unlimited income from the beginning, especially if you build ships and trade for the first few years, and the units are strong for the price. So far, I have Norway, Sweden, iceland, northumbria, Ireland, Denmark, Livonia, Lithuania and Finland and am about to take Scotland and York before turning southward.

No it doesn't. Thanks for all your observations by the way - I'm taking them all into account.
Something I noticed, the nomad warriors unit has an upkeep of 90 (on default size), which is very high for a 60 man unit. Seeing as they are not that good a unit(powerful I mean) and that the steppe factions are ofen quite poor, I reckon this should be lower. Unless you have some other factor in mind. Some of the other new units have costs that seem improbably low or high, as others have noted. However,
I'm now getting CTD after 1275 as the Kievans when pressing the esc key to bring up the menu. I let the game run without trying to access the menu but got as far as 1278 when it CTD on its own. Apart from that it's worked well up untill now.
