Spart, yep that's right.
Uk siu, that is weird. The mongol invasion is weird sometimes it is weak but sometimes really strong. What faction are you by the way?

BKB,
I saw that HRE was often defeated by all neigbours. So I decided to play as a German Kaiser :)
Late at first will be a separate release first but combined a little later if you follow me.
I know the germans get it tough but i have helped them no end. I'm going to have agame or two later and see what the hell is going on http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...icons/wave.gif
Damnhttp://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/gc-wall.gif Oh well not to worry. Thanks for clearing that up mate.Quote:

how long after late's release will they be put together to form the bkb super medieval pack with early,High and late in one.
At this time it could be any, i have no idea yet mate
the mod is brilliant already what will super late offer new to this wicked mod
BkB,,,
I noticed Kiev and the HRE. Kiev was the strong power in the East. An interesting situation,,hehe they attacked me (Norse) with a strong army so i retreated, then came back with a much stronger army and they retreated. On the next turn they again attacked me. It was a grand large battle,,some 1500 troops on my side vs 1100 Kieveians.. My leader was a 5 star,,my king, and theirs was a 4. I thought for sure it would be an easy victory for me..alas they cleaned my clock so to speak on two replays. Their cav was in the quality range of 5 and 6 and their infantry was only 2's. I had four units of cav quality 2 and all my infantry was the same.. sheesh i couldn't stop their cav However i let the computer decide the game http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/gc-blush.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/gc-blush.gif and beat them hands down.. They are pretty tough.
The HRE seems to hold its own in my one campaign. They held central europe and France the normal french provinces and the french coast and pursued their aims in spain. England just didn't seem to have what it takes on the continent or in England . The English couldn't take the island, and had been put down rather severly by the irish, but at one point france invaded the english isles, subdued it and the english returned via rebellion, and were finally able to hold all but Scotland and keep it up to the time i had to quit,,bleary eyed and seeing only large monitors dancing in me eyes

Last question if you installed early and high will late be an add-on so you can have all 3 at once.
The final add on will include all super periods in one big auto install hopefully
I've just started a new campaign with the French and I am finding it extremely difficult to even get started.
The English invaded me almost straightaway and with their starting armies filled with Norman Knights, I lost Flanders and could have lost Toulouse had it not been for a quick employment of some mercenary troops.
Flanders wasn't immediately lost. It was under siege for several years and although I poured troops in (poured perhaps not being the right word for a mere 60 archers and 60 militiamen per turn) I was finding it very hard to wrestle it back again. Although there was a rebellion they were bloody rebels and not loyalist French. Another battle was lost in Flanders and I had to pay a ransom to bring my general back.
Through sheer luck the English let one of my princes marry one of their princesses and I was let off the hook.
However, a year after that the bloody Aragonese attacks Toulouse I autocalced the battle and won but the Aragonese have a number of Royal Knight prince bodyguards in Aragon and could easily smash my arse all the province if they wanted to.
I was eager to find out but when I pressed escape to save the damn thing crashed
Not a happy experience.

I am beginning to think that perhaps the French need to have a better starting army, perhaps a few Feudal men-at-arm units scattered about the place? I always remember the Aragonese causing trouble in the south in the original game.
It's amazing how things can change (thankfully I could continue after the ctd). I took advantage of the fact that I knew Aragon would invade Toulouse so instead of hiring some mercenaries to invade Aquitaine I used them to bolster the Toulouse army. This in turn made the Aragonese attack Valencia instead of me and only a few years later the English are at war with just about everyone. Now the Navaresse are besieging Gascony and the Welsh doing the same in Wessex. I think the English were weakened quite a bit attacking not only myself but also the HRE. Had it not been for the English ceasefire and the ctd my faction would probably be down to just two or three provinces
At least i can add-on late to early and high, i'm enjoying reading these stories of campiagns http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/bigthumb.gif
I have 2 questions:
1) When playing as the Cumans is there any way to change your leaders icon on the strategic map so it looks like the Khan one as i have noticed it only turns different when you move the khan somewhere is there awy to keep it looking this way instead of the cathlic leader.
2)I would like to be able to change a factions music on the strategic map (if its ok with u BKB) i would like to give the Cumans say Viking music or muslim music.
Thank you
P.S The best mod i have played for VI EVER
1) I will fix that Vincenzo for the final release if I can. I only just noticed it today.
2) Go into 'Campmap/Startpos' and then the period in question. Look for 'SetFactionMusic'. 0 is Arab, 1 is Christian and 2 is Viking. I'm considering adding in the Mongol music from the Mongol invasion for the final release.
And thanks for the kind words Makes it all worthwhile.
Oh and I bring disappointing news from Glorious Achievement investigation. It seems that the homelands are in a table listed in provincial order. You cannot specify these provinces. I have different provinces in each period, therefore I can only do GA's for ONE period or not bother at all. What would you people rather I do and what period for? It wouldn't have been proper GA's by the way - just homelands for the new faction. I have to admit the mod will be finished a lot quicker if I don't do them, but the ball is in your court.
Entirely up to you mate of course. I personally would like to see a bug free GA campaign where you could at least attempt to complete them if you choose one of the original factions. That's what I liked about the Medmod where you could go for the glory goals as normal but only so long as you weren't one of the new factions otherwise it would always crash to the desktop. Would it be possible for you to release the Super Late edition anyway and then leave the GA project for a later date? Or isn't it that simple? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...gc-curtain.gif
I'll release Super Late as it is and then decide on it for the final release. Perhaps then you could decide what campaign it would feature best in.
Only do it when everything else is done. I don't care much for GA's (never discovered 'em until I after I started getting into mods), but I understand why other people would like them. But get all the vital stuff out of the way, then hammer out the details. Just my opinon. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/bigthumb.gif
i agree, i, mainly play conquest anyway, http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ons/tongue.gif
how soon can we see super late? ohh this is gonna be sweetness :)
Probably next week now - not much left just ironing out a lot of flaws and adding the final units.
GA for super High I think this would be better than super early, because it is shorter to finish a high game rather than an early
I normaly play with GA's because the AI plays less stupid rampage then in total conquest. At least it looks to me that way.
I can live without them, would be nice to have them for the major powers but...ah well
Maybe I should justify my post a bit more, I think Super High would be better because it is less work for BKB, also there is a more varied conflict sphere - (Teutons vs Poland/novogord, latin vs Byzantium vs Turkish, Crusader states vs Egypt, Battle for the Iberian Penninsular, Mainland Britian and England vs France, battle for the Italian penninsular and battle for the Balkans). This would make for a very interesting GA game, and I think it would be a bit of a shame to have such an interesting and active map not realised to its full potential. It is also more historically accurate having GA rather than coquering half the world with Aragon or the scots (which is still possible if you want to do it with GA, but is not necessary to win). I think not having a GA mode is only really taking something away without actually giving anything in return, you can still win by conquest if you want to but dont have to. My only request if GA is included is that the single province homeland factions get high points count for that one province (such as 10 or so) and also high conquest rewards so you dont have to conquer half the map to win (and thus go against the point of GA). But anyway its up to you BKB, I am already VERY happy with your mod so far, its almost like another new game and is the only thing holding me over until RTW and HL2 get released (winter hols over here in Aus, so no beach :(
hi bkb i've started a game with the english in early, in expert, and man, what a ride completely surrounded by enemies (not a faction near me would ally), was the most battle-intense campaign i've ever played. no wonder the ai has a hard time, with those pesky navarrese down south, the french breathing on your neck and the tough welsh, scots and irish next door... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/gc-help.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/gc-help.gif i finally got through (don't ask how, i don't even know) and those damn ungrateful germans attacked after a 50 year alliance, after i releived french sieges in their provinces (3 times) and with the poles rampaging their eastern front... o well, i had a couple of questions:
-the Templar foot kinghts, they have a support cost of 25, a bargain for such a unit. perhaps it should be a little higher... and maybe 2 turns to build, this is a personal opinion, but getting one of this per turn, when the varangian guard, that has similar stats costs 500 and takes 2 turns seems weird... i propose every unit of heavy foot knight to require 2 turns to build, don't know what you think...
-i noticed that frydmen have the same stats than feudal seargeants. maybe you could delete them to make room for new units.
-crusades, they now create only fanatics when launched... dunno if this is on purpose or not. first time i sent a crusade (and paying 1000 to the pope for his blessing) i felt like invading the papacy to demand a refund no templar, hospitaller, nada maybe you did it on purpose, i just wanted to check
-another thing i'm quite sure its a design feature, when you conquer scotland and ireland with the english, you can't build highland clansmen or gallowglass/kern (early)
-perhaps for late you could delete finland and add another province that has more relevance, in all the games i've ever played its always a barren, useless wasteland. just an idea
great work again really looking foward to super late
cheers
Dire, i will look at the templar and frydmen problems. Also the crusades thing sounds weird, being looking into it.
If i enabled england to train those celtic units, scotland and ireland couldn't train them anywhere else, and they need those exclusive units so badly at times.
Not sure about finland, maybe. I have been thinking about removing the sahara in late but not sure what to add. I'll look into it
AA, Sorry about the ga problem but you can see the score and to be honest i have to start work on eastern promise or it won't be out before rome and doing those GA's will hold me back even further. If some nice person would like to do it for the mod(only for one period though) they are most welcome to. But it would be tough work http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif
GAs for the High Period gets my vote too. And you can remove Finland if you like because in all my time playing MTW I've probably only conquered a couple of times. The Sahara as a province is of much more use in my humble opinion.
By the way BKB is it possible to train Norman Foot Knights in the Mod? I hope I'm not being dim but it looks like only the mounted types are available.
for me you choose m8,i want to play http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif .
One more week to late released http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/wacko.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/wacko.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/wacko.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/wacko.gif

was usual the mod is nice
Yes. You need a ARMOURER2 and a SWORDSMITH2 as the English. They can only be trained in Early however.
