Megas Logothetes' Report for 1095
1093 was a year of recruitment, building and integration.
Domestic Affairs:
The three priests in Anatolia have boarded ship to be moved to Antioch. Two priests are active in the Balkans and will be joined by a third. Six churches have been completed this year, so further missionaries will be available for Anatolia.
The remaining three flotillas of Dromons have docked at the port of the capital for repairs.
Zagreb has finished building roads. I urge that roads be finished as soon as possible around Belgrade so our western frontier is connected to the rest of the Empire.
Construction continues in all settlements. I have also recruited heavily to bring garrisons up to muster and in as many places as possible to relieve bodyguards from directly guarding the walls. Two regiments of militia from Constantinople have been dispatched to Bucharest for garrison duty and replacements recruited. The same has been done in Nicaea to garrison Sinop.
Comes Savvas ek Militou is now officially Despot of Arta.
Foreign Affairs:
A diplomat from the Order of the Knights Templar approached us at Belgrade. In exchange for 1000 florins we have granted them an exchange of maps and trade rights.
Princess Anna nears the capital after her productive trip north.
Military Affairs:
Imperial Army:
I am garrisoning Bucharest until the militia contingent from Constantinople arrives.
Order of St. John:
The Order remains in Antioch. A force of Templars lingers on the border to the south.
The Asteri:
No action.
The Komnenodoukai:
Senator Pavlos Chrysovergos has taken Sinop. The Turks have retreated east after we claimed it.
Senator Ioannis Kantakouzinos continues to monitor the Polish siege of Iasi.
The Tagamata:
No action.
The Tepaki:
No action.
Unaligned:
Senator Methodios Tagaris moved west to build a watchtower, he has returned to Zagreb. The Hungarian army remains in the vicinity.
Comes Markianos Ampelas has turned around and is retracing his steps, heading toward Thessalonica.
Here's the save for 1095 (SS turns are 1.5 years): http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/pbm/LOTR-1095-0.zip
Feel free to download the save to familiarize yourself with the state of the Empire heading into the Senate Session, but do not do anything with it until the Session is over and a new Megas Logothetes declares the save open.
Here is the newest save game with the avatar retinue title corrections and the added rebel armies for Event 2. Large rebel armies have been created outside of Zagreb, Budapest, Bucharest, Sinop, and Antioch. I have checked and taking control of the rebel faction works perfectly fine. So, I will be controlling them personally for a short while to ensure that they attack where I want them to attack. Please be aware of a few things.
1) The rebel armies are not final. When it rolls around to the rebels' turn, I will be able to disband units in their armies. This is a significant improvement over the system I used in the Cataclysm and it will allow me to adjust the armies to be exactly the way I want them to be. The current setup approximates the level of difficulty that they will be, but some units may be added and removed after the rebels' next turn. This will be done to make the armies slightly more balanced and 'natural.'
2) The first rebel move will occur after the coming turn. Any army that has not been destroyed in the coming turn will besiege their target city immediately after the next turn and begin building siege equipment for an assault. Any avatar that does not want to risk death during an assault defeat is highly advised to flee the town during this turn. I cannot guarantee the safety of anyone who remains inside a threatened city. Again, the cities concerned are: Zagreb, Budapest, Bucharest, Sinop, and Antioch. If you do not think you can defeat the stack and do not want to die, I urge you to clear out immediately.

Both the main and backup Org file uploaders are down at the moment. Accordingly, I have put the save game file on RapidShare. I will upload it to the usual Org system when it comes back up.

The next term hasn't started yet. You have to wait until the voting period is over and the next Megas declares the game open.
Ok. Though your posting meant just that!
Yeah, I realized that after you posted. I apologize for the confusion, I should have made it clear.
The Megas Logothetes will be making his moves for 1095 after the Senators' 24 hour period, which starts
Now
With the current save: http://rapidshare.com/files/12619365...95-1a.zip.html
Everyone is responsible for the defense against the revolts in their own settlements. Make your decision to run or fight. If your decision hinges on how long it will take for reinforcements to arrive, and if that is not clear from the save (e.g. depends on recruitment), I will be glad to provide estimates.

Left Sinop. Travelled East.
Here would be the save, if the PBM uploaders weren't both down...

Report for 1095
Large revolts have occurred in all frontier regions of the Empire, which include Zagreb, Belgrade, Bucharest, Sinop, and Antioch. Each one is in need of reinforcements, and assembling those reinforcements was the focus during this year.
Military Affairs
Since this term will focus on consolidation, and to encourage cooperation between the houses, I will deliver my military reports split by region, not by house. Let me define the following regions:
Α. Interior - Constantinople, Thessalonike, Athens, Arta, Corinth
Β. Danubian Frontier - Zagreb, Belgrade, Bucharest
Γ. Western Frontier - Dyrrakhion, Scopia
Δ. Eastern Frontier - Dardanellia, Smyrna, Rhodes
Ε. Pontic Frontier - Nicaea, Sinop
Η. Syria - Antioch, Nicosia
Ζ. Sea - Black, Aegean, Ionian, Eastern Med
If a region is not reported on, no noteworthy action occurred.
Danubian Frontier
The Danubian frontier was the most affected by the revolts, which happened at Zagreb, Belgrade, and Bucharest. In total, about 4500 rebels were split about evenly between those cities, with the total Imperial forces totaling about 550 at Bucharest, 130 at Belgrade, and 24 at Zagreb.
Bucharest was in best shape, being outnumbered only by about 3 to 1, and Basileus Alexios attacked the rebel army gathered near Bucharest. He inflicted significant casualties and retreated to the city. Apionnas Vringas will bring reinforcements from the capital, and Ioannis Kantakouzions will come from the north with mercenaries.
I have not heard anything from Anastasios Neokaisareitis who commands a weak garrison at Belgrade. I fear he may have been besieged without a chance to escape. I will be arriving from the south, and most of the western resources will be put into quickly converging on Belgrade if Neokaisareitis does indeed remain in the city. Savvas ek Militou also comes from the south with 630 men, but is a great distance away.
Zagreb has been abandoned by Methodios Tagaris.
Pontic Frontier
An army roughly 1500 in strength has gathered near Sinop, which was defended by Pavlos Chrysovergos with 370 men. He has withdrawn from the city to east, though I don't know what he expects to find there except Turks, for it is not possible to pass to Trebizond by the coast, and no ships are deployed in the Black Sea.
Caesar Ioannis comes from Nicaea with a total of 380 men after mercenaries were added to his army.
Syria
Syria has also experienced a revolt also of about 1500 men. The army in Antioch is under command of Makedonios Ksanthopoulos with 870 men, which is the largest army behind the strongest walls that we have. The other generals have encamped outside of the city.
Interior
Recruitment was started in the west to provide later reinforcements, while all standing troops (except minimum garrisons) have been scrambled to the north to provide immediate relief. Mercenaries were added this year only to ek Militou's and the Caesar's army, but more will be recruited next turn. The funds were more than sufficient for recruitment, and the bottleneck was the speed with which men could be trained.
Civilian Affairs
With permission of Methodios Tagaris, Zagreb has been sold to the Hungarians. The agreed price was 10,000 florins, which was delivered immediately. The Megas Logothetes thanks our good Hungarian allies for their cooperation in our time of need.
Construction was started in each idle settlement.
The finances are in good shape, and the Empire looks to profit by about 3000 florins thanks to the Hungarians, despite heavy recruitment and construction.
Save will be made available by TinCow after he has commanded the rebel AI at the end of the turn. The 24 hour period will start at that time.
I will be taking the save sometime around 5pm EST today. As noted by FLYdude, The Lemongate is free to take the save until I grab it.

Rebels have besieged Zagreb (Hungarian), Belgrade, Bucharest, and Antioch.
Rebels have captured the undefended Sinop.
Anastasios Neokaisareitis (The Lemongate) was evacuated out of Belgrade before the siege began. He is located at the nearby ford. As TLG has been AWOL this entire time and was unaware of his predicament, I did not want to leave him in a situation that was essentially guaranteed death. If he really wants to stay in Belgrade and fight, he can walk back to the walls and fight with the garrison when the assault comes.
The 'Unwatched by King' trait was removed from Aleksios ek Ikoniou at Northnovas' request.
A Horse Breeder's Guild was offered in Constantinople. I accepted it. If this was the wrong thing to do, OverKnight and FLYdude have my authority to knock it down and refund 1000 florins to the treasury via console.
New avatars have been spawned for Ibn-Khaldun and TheFlax. This will be dealt with in the Signup Thread.
A Mission was given (ironically) to take Sinop.
Armatos ek Naksou gained a Pagan Magician.
