Host note- I am not sure where Khaan is or when he will be back. His Mongolica game is already delayed. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't comment.

okay then... unvote, vote:khaan a duel it is...
Okay, the challengers are once again ordered to rock, scissors, paper for their lives. This time they can choose their own weapons, whatever they want. Ninja-related or not.
To make it easier on me, can you choose twice or even three times? That way if you draw I can move on to the next selection right away. Just make it clear which is the first selection, otherwise it will automatically be whichever comes first in your message.
EDIT: Just waiting on atheotes.
EDIT: All orders are in.
Day Phase
The remaining crew of the Canis Majoris stepped forward to vote. This time, the vote was tied once more. Command Officer Shinseikhaan had two votes on him, and Medical Officer atheotes had two votes on him as well. atheotes was so sure of his innocence that he was willing to volunteer to be thrown into the cold fuel suspension unit, but this did not sway his fellow officers. Speaking of which... they crew had decided to release Johnhughthom from the cold. Their duel could wait.
They gathered in the cold fuel suspension chamber. After entering in a series of commands, the Command Officer lowered the fuel intake port into the sphere, and lowered the pressure. Johnhughthom's frozen form got blown halfway through the intake, and the action was cancelled. Then the intake port was raised up and Johnhughthom was placed into a nearby Kolto tank to be reanimated. The process would take some time. Now, the Command officer would challenge the Medical officer. The Command officer chose the Pata, and the Medical officer chose the Morning Star.
Shinseikhaan: Another challenger. You must be very confident in your skill if you choose to challenge me, after what happened to your friend. :shame:
atheotes: I'm confident in my innocence, commander. There's something wrong with you... you didn't even seem to show remorse for your fallen comrade. :inquisitive:
Shinseikhaan: Neither shall I show mercy or remorse for you when I have split you into halves. Have you any last words before I turn you into kebab?
atheotes: After I tear your face apart with these protruding metal spikes, you might have better luck attracting women.
Shinseikhaan: .....prepare to die.
atheotes: LADIES FIRST!!! :furious3:
The battle began with Shinseikhaan swinging his Pata at atheotes and releasing it, causing it to fly towards atheotes' head with blinding speed, puncturing the coolant tank behind him. While atheotes was able to dodge the projectile, he did not see Khaan move across the room in a flash, with palm outstretched, knocking him squarely in the chest, knocking him on his backside. Khaan was immediately upon him, with one knee on the wrist of the hand holding the morning star, and his hand gripped firmly at his throat. Atheotes attempted to wrench Khaan's grip away from his windpipe, but the man was unnaturally strong. Khaan began pummeling atheotes in the face with his left hand, and there was no way for atheotes to block the blows. With rapid succession, each blow landed, and atheotes was already struggling to stay conscious. Meanwhile, the coolant was leaking all over the floor, some of it covering his face, and he was struggling to breathe. This couldn't possibly be... atheotes was too well-trained as an officer to simply go down like that.
The deck was now slick with the liquid coolant, and even the rough traction of their boots would have difficulty keeping their grip. With every bit of strength, atheotes reached up with his legs and hooked one around Khaan's neck, pulling him backward. Khaan attempted to resist but the floor was too slick to maintain his footing. Khaan crashed against the deck and rolled to his feet. atheotes pulled himself up and gripped his weapon tightly, and very carefully began to advance on Shinseikhaan, who began to circle the room, getting near his weapon. Atheotes cut him off before he could get there, and swung the morning star towards Khaan's waist. Khaan hopped back to dodge it, and another swing, and now another. Atheotes had now pinned him to the corner of the compartment, and prepared to unleash stinging **** upon Shinseikhaan. Atheotes delivered a quick thrusting kick which sent Khaan directly into the bulkhead, and swung the morning star as hard as he could towards Khaan's head. Khaan dropped down just in time, and the weapon hit nothing but air. Now atheotes swung lower, and Khaan had no more moves except to attempt to block the blow with his arms. The weapon struck Khaan in the forearm, digging in deep. But he was now almost in a sitting position, and he gripped the weapon with his other hand, and raised his feet to push atheotes off of him. The man wouldn't budge, and so Khaan delivered a swift thrust to the groin with his heel. Atheotes rolled onto the deck in pain, dropping the morning star. Khaan slowly stood up, and looked at the huge wound he had sustained to his left arm. Then he carefully pulled the spiked weapon out of his flesh, blood pouring from the gash, and threw it at atheotes, who was just getting up. The man was quick, but it still impacted him in the shoulder and sent him to the deck once again in pain.
Khaan went for the Pata, which was still protruding from the coolant tank. The gauntlet slid onto Shinseikhaan's right hand, and he tucked his wounded left arm behind his back. Now atheotes had removed the morning star from his shoulder, and had control of the weapon. The men were across the room from one another, separated by the ever-growing pool of slippery coolant. They advanced on one another, Khaan with his blade raised for battle, atheotes with his morning star at the ready. Khaan was the first to attack, thrusting the blade from a safe distance. Atheotes was unable to move out of the way in time, so he was stuck in the abdomen, just barely. He swung the star towards Khaan's head, and Khaan ducked the swing. Another swing, and Khaan met the weapon with his own gauntlet-covered hand. The clash of metal was fierce, almost knocking both men to the deck. Atheotes kept swinging, and Khaan continued to deflect the blows, until atheotes grabbed his wrist and twisted the blade back, and took a free swing at Khaan's face. Khaan had to try to deflect it with his free hand, but it was already weak from the earlier wound. The force of the blow was reduced, but the spiked weapon continued on towards his head, impaling him in the side of the face, one spike going right into his left eye. Khaan roared with pain and delivered a vicious kick to atheotes' knee, causing him to lose his footing. Atheotes fell, dragging Khaan down with him, and the two men struggled on the deck, rolling around in a mixture of coolant and their own blood, their metallic weapons clattering. They struggled to gain leverage over one another, but they were too evenly matched. Finally, Khaan managed to pin atheotes down and prevent him from swinging his weapon. Now, he lowered his pata against the man's throat, attempting to sever his neck. Atheotes could only hold the metal blade back with his own weapon, but Khaan had the advantage, and he was pushing his full weight down on atheotes' neck. Khaan's face was bleeding profusely, the blood getting into his opponent's eyes, making it difficult to see. Atheotes, in desperation, gripped the blade of the pata and tried to forcefully lift it off of his neck, but all that did was split his hand apart. In a few seconds, it would all be over. Gripping the blade as firmly as he could, he lifted it just enough to get his morning star free. With one brutal swing, he smashed Khaan in the side of the head, knocking the man off of him.
Khaan was on the deck, bleeding from both sides of his head... he looked unconscious. atheotes struggled to get up, but he was having trouble getting his footing. He gripped the nearby railing, and pulled himself up. He heard the sound of rapid footfalls behind him, and turned to see a bloodied and vengeful Khaan rushing him at full speed. With both hands he shoved atheotes over the railing, and the morning star went flying off into the darkness. Atheotes gripped the railing and slammed into the side of the overhang, his hands slick with blood and coolant. Khaan grabbed the Pata and swung it at his opponent's hands, and atheotes let go to avoid the loss of his fingers. He fell into the darkness below.
Commander Shinseikhaan entered a series of commands into the nearby control panel. An alarm sounded, indicating that the cold fuel suspension unit was losing anti-grav cohesion. Very shortly, the sphere of supercooled liquid would turn into a lake, covering the entire lower decks with enough cold fuel to freeze anyone that happened to be standing on that level. Even if they didn't touch it directly, the air temperature nearby would drop to levels far below freezing in an instant.
Atheotes had been knocked out by the fall; he had hit his head on a cargo container. But the loud warning alarm caused him to stir. When he realized what was going on, he knew he would have to get off of the service deck and back up to the main level. There was no ladder, and the nearest access port was down a long, dark corridor. Even worse, he heard the sound of one of the military-issue plasma rifles being charged up. He had to move.
Khaan was on the upper deck, and he began firing plasma bolts at his foe. Atheotes ran as fast as he could across the room, and he could hear the sounds of exploding containers and fire suppression systems going off behind him. Bolts of plasma streaked towards the medical officer, and he dove out of the way. The room was filling with smoke and suppression gas, and there was little time left before the cold fuel was released. The sphere hung ominously in mid-air, the smooth surface now rippling... the sphere began to descend towards the deck. Atheotes saw his morning star in the corner of the dimly lit room, and he ran to grab it, again dodging plasma bolts fired from above. Khaan had to move in order to get a better shot. Atheotes grabbed some fiber optic cable that was protruding from the bulkhead, and tied it around the weapon as quickly as he could. He snuck quietly around the room while Khaan was still trying to locate him, and he swung the morning star towards the railing above. It swung around the railing and got tangled up with the fiber optic cable. Khaan finally spotted him and aimed his plasma rifle directly at atheotes.
The medical officer dove out of the way of the projectile, just in time. The bulkhead behind him exploded, and things were looking grim. The cold fuel sphere finally touched the deck, and the fuel was released, spilling everywhere. The medical officer got on his feet and ran back towards the hanging fiber optic cable and propelled himself off of a nearby cargo container to grab the cable in mid-air. Khaan prepared to fire the plasma rifle again, but it needed a moment to heat up more plasma bolts. Atheotes gripped the cable and pulled himself up, hand over hand. When he finally got up to the main deck, Khaan was ready to fire again, and he was circling the room to get a clean shot. The medical officer grabbed a twisted bit of pipe, quickly opened a nearby hatch and sprinted down the corridor. Khaan followed.
Atheotes ducked into one of the crew's quarters. He was appalled at what he saw. The bed was covered in blood, and the place had been ripped apart. Wasn't this A Very Super Market's quarters? But there wasn't time to figure out what was going on. Khaan was firing plasma bolts down the corridor to illuminate it. Atheotes entered a couple security commands into a wall panel, and the doors slid shut. The quarters across the hall, however, slid open. Atheotes waited in the darkness.
Listening carefully, the medical officer heard Khaan walk toward the quarters across the corridor, and begin firing into the darkness. Now was atheotes' chance... he opened the door and prepared to swing the metal pipe against Khaan's head. Khaan heard the noise behind him and turned to defend himself, pushing the rifle between him and the pipe. The metal pipe bent the rifle, and sparks flew into both men's faces as it shorted out. They both fell to the deck. Khaan had remembered to bring his Pata, sheathed and hanging off his utility belt, and he drew the weapon. Atheotes stood quickly and wielded the metal pipe with grim determination. Now he had to finish Khaan. He rushed his commanding officer, pipe raised, and prepared to smash his skull to pieces while he lay prone on the deck. With a sudden movement, Khaan outstretched his arm, and the Pata skewered his opponent through the stomach. The sudden impalement caused atheotes to drop the pipe, and it clattered harmlessly to the deck. Khaan raised his foot, and as atheotes fell forward, Khaan flipped him over his head and onto the deck behind him. The Pata slid out of atheotes, causing his stomach to gush dark red blood.
Atheotes was curled up in pain, but he still tried to get to his feet. Perhaps there was still a way he could get to the medical bay... he pushed himself to his knees and looked up to see Khaan thrusting the Pata into his neck. Blood spurt from his mouth and neck, and the sensation of metal sticking through his throat was uncomfortable beyond belief, and it was suffocating him.
"Good-bye" said Shinseikhaan. He then twisted the Pata, cutting atheotes' head from his body like a pair of scissors through paper.

The crew would now attempt to get some sleep.
Night phase begins now.
what an epic duel :duel:
great write up :applause:
Why am I getting "Golden rule" vibes from this game ATPG??:inquisitive:
Could it be the lack of murders?
what's up with the blood in AVSM's quarters? i am not sure what to make from the write-up...
Khaan was doing some damage to the ship...
DIY talked me into the duel...which could be scummy...
AVSM never responded to my qn...:dizzy2:
And the fact that people dieing=Ship is going to go *Kaboom*:smash:
Ninja duels are cool.
Why there is blood in my room? I dunno. Botched donation? Wampire? Menstruating? Death?
ok..now that you are here, why did you vote for me?
Because you're kosher.
Night phase
The four remaining crewmen did not have a restful night. Every single one of them suffered massive headaches and terrible, terrible nightmares. Johnhughthom, AVSM, and Death is Yonder started coughing up blood. The internal scanners went offline that night and the life support system failed, and backup systems were running at 20% of standard. The ship was filling with noxious gasses, and the temperature was rising.
The crew staggered to their feet, and they began the process of voting once more. Their time was about to expire.

Begin the final day.
Frankly, this is either an amazingly bad slip-up, or a purposeful trick. We don't have much to go on besides "John is innocent", so.....
Vote: Khaan
While they were discussing, Death is Yonder, the sub-light drive engineer, keeled over and started convulsing.
Death is Yonder: Ohhh... the pain... the pain..... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
As he tried to get up, his head exploded, and thousands of tiny little insect-like creatures came swarming out of the cavity.

:dizzy2: whats happening? looks like the people who got headaches and coughed up blood will die soon...Voting for Khaan seems to be the only option...although AVSM could be the traitor as well...It would nice if Khaan could come in and make any kind of defense... his behavior has been scummy all game :wall:
Vote: A Very Super Market
I'm innocent.
While they continued discussing in a more panicky fashion, A Very Super Market started complaining about pain in his temples. Blood started pouring out of his nose, and he dropped to his knees.
A Very Super Market: What is HAPPENING TO ME??? HELP ME, SOMEONE, PLEASE!!!!
The Chief Executive Officer AVSM held his head in pain, until it exploded all over the deck, releasing another swarm of the diabolical creatures.

IT WILL BE DECIDED BY NINJA DUEL AGAIN!

Johnhughthom looked nervously at Shinseikhaan....
Johnhughthom: It was you? It was YOU??? It was YOU ALL ALONG???? You're a traitor! You've killed us all! My brains!!! MY BRAINS!!!!
John doubled over in pain, and the last thing that went through his mind was a swarm of a thousand miniature alien creatures.

Shinseikhaan: Good.... good... you've done well, my puppet... and now, the great honor of feeding the next generation of an entire species goes to you. It is a much greater purpose for you than the task of spreading your filthy human seed across the galaxy. I shall release you from my control, and allow my offspring to devour you while you are still alive.
Just then, Shinseikhaan doubled over and began coughing up blood... and the mother creature emerged from his neck. He was finally released from his control... now if he could only get to the medical bay, and adjust the environmental controls back down to a near-freezing temperature... but they were all around him. The Swarm came from all directions, and the creatures began tearing his skin apart piece by piece. But Commander Shinseikhaan was a genetically advanced and enhanced human. He sprinted down the corridor, even as the creatures fed upon his open wounds, his non-functional eyes, and the blood pouring down his body. They swarmed inside his ears and his nose, but he continued to run down the corridor. The creatures were inside his blood stream now... if he could just keep going a little farther... the environmental control unit was just a few meters away...
He lost consciousness, and fell to the deck. When his head hit the solid metal deck plating, his skull exploded, and a thousand more creatures were released from his brain cavity. The Swarm feasted on his flesh, which was the tastiest of them all, and they also ate the corpses of the rest of the crew. When they were finished, the Mother creature activated a distress beacon, and the entire hive lay in wait... hoping their next meal would come... until then, the entire colony lay dormant. With the power systems still functioning, and a fusion-powered source of ultraviolet radiation coming from the lights in the corridors, and the temperature set to the same conditions as the volcanic environment outside the pod, they could remain in hibernation for millions of years. It was only a matter of time before another group of outsiders ventured too close to their home world.

End of game notes
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Hopefully the game was enjoyable for all, and thank you so much for playing. Thanks also to all of you who showed interest in the game! I really am very appreciative towards all you players who signed up so enthusiastically.
I hope some of you come play down at Total War Center's Mafia section, which is located in the Coliseum. I host and moderate down there. And of course I'll still be here. Thanks again!
Good game... i had absolutely no clue that this would happen...
i did think that if i win the duel with Khaan the town would win but that was because i was convinced he was mafia... i am sorry i lost the game for the town in the duel :shame:
Chaotix tried to get me to vote for John, but it was too late... i had left my vote on Khaan till 1 minute before deadline and changed it to chaotix to get the tie... he asked me to change 4 minutes after deadline :sad:Quote:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I am glad you enjoyed yourself, atheotes. I think you did an excellent job.
First round, you voted for me.
Second round, you voted for me.
Final round, you voted for me.
In the duel, you nearly killed me.
I think that should earn you a townie MVP award. There were others who did very well too... Khaan and Chaotix just so nailed me on the first round. :wall:
you are being too generous... except for the final round vote on Khaan i never thought i was voting correctly...
I also have to commend White_Eyes for correctly deducing that this was similar to the Golden Rule game, in some ways. That's quite a leap to be making, and I'd figure you'd only make that leap unless you had a few stones along the path which would logically lead you there. I'd be interested to hear his thoughts on that.
Interesting game, pizza.
On a side note- this, folks, is why self preservation votes in the first round are scummy. No one has proper reason to protest a random first round bandwagon unless they've got something to hide.
