Bah haven't killed zombies in a whole week...i'm fiending....
Give me a holler on steam when you start, always happy to join you, day or night.
The holiday rush of scrubs has already begun. Was in a Versus game earlier today where both teams were absolutely terrible with the infected. It was awful. When someone with two braincells to rub together finally joined, i was ecstatic. :help:
First rage-quit I've done since my early days of L4D, and the very first I've ever done over the idiocy of my own team. I mean there's bad, where you just got the game and you're learning.. and then there's what in the world are you doing? bad.
man, i neeeeed to buy this game! I hate being broke :(
Doesn't look like I will be playing again until mid next week. It's funny, my work keeps me so busy I haven't set foot in my home for 3 weeks, but I'm more pissed at not having time to play LFD
Managed to play a few hours last night. Great game! I seriously doubt I'll have the time and energy to get good at it anytime soon, though. So I'll happily splash in the shallow end of the pool, you know, "normal" campaign mode and whatnot.
Hey pever, good to see you in the game last night even if only for a bit - my mate and I were quite drunk as our respective partners were at work do's and we had the evening free for once.
Hope to see you online (and more sober) soon!
Incidentally, we unlocked a couple of the mustachio acheivements last night, any tips on getting the gnome out?
We'll also be up for a bit of versus - though I pity the guys on the same team as me as I'm a right n00b on that bit.
To get te gnome out you have to score high on the little shooter game. Then the party has to carry it into aevery safe room and to the chopper. You should get the badge in the finale even if u die, as long as someone gets it to the chopper. I recommend dropping it by the stage in the center so you can and run to either side the chopper lands on
Note, it acts as a sole melee weapon. You can keep a gun on you, but if u equip the gun u drop the gnome, so the guy who carries it is pretty much a melee monkey
Yeah...and you don't have to be there the entire time. As long as you are in the finale when the gnome is taken out, you get the achievement.
I love that little fella, the wack a mole and strength minigames were good fun too. Second best campaign after hard rain imo.
I like the finale of The Parish as well, good ol' fashioned zerging.
Except for when you get charged off (or smoked, or jocky'd)
It was good to see you ingame pever, I can't quite remember if you left after the first failed attempt over the bridge, but we made it on the second -er, after you and another guy left. :beam: :embarassed: We made more of a run for it than the zombie death crawler approach we'd followed before.
I'm still very new to L4D2 and I've spent most of my time playing the Parish (as the first 2 levels were in the Demo). But that last level really is tricky, it seems mostly down to an attrition factor. You have to strike a (fine) balance between advancing methodicaly and keeping some forward momentum. Were there a health drop half way it would be a lot easier, too easy probably!
The fickle drops of randomness rarely provide when you need it.
I've had two healthpacks drop at the military jeep at a high point when we didnt need them, and none drop when we do.
As always guys, hit me up if you need an extra player. Always happy to play with orgahs.
Edit: If theres a way im playing you'd like to have changed (eg im going too fast, not exploring enough, too slow etc etc) let me know and I'll change. I'd rather I changed so you could have fun, than me ruin your fun.
LOL me and pever played scavenge with a 12 year old girl who shouted orders and had some jacked up strategy of getting the farthest gas can first !!!!! and when it didn't work out she chided us WHY DID YOU GUYS NOT FOLLOW MY COMMANDS? In a very authoritative manner
Actually, unless I'm playing Versus, I find the Parish finale easy. Too easy, in fact. As long as I don't get pounced by a Hunter, Jockey, or Smoker in the first thirty seconds, I can zergrush my way to the helicopter in under three minutes (required for one achievement) solo. And by solo, I mean I kill every other survivor and then run alone. The trick is to completely avoid the Tanks. Don't even stop to shoot at them, just run past them. The level is laid out so that they aren't even going to catch up by the time you get to da choppah.
Probably singleplayer. It's surprisingly effective if you're a sure-shot. It's all about avoiding the one unlucky pounce.
I've yet to complete it on Versus. The tank dodge method is effective in Campaign mode, but in Versus a good tank can deal with that too easily. :no:Quote:

My friend just bought this when it came out(360 version).....I played the first but didn't get into mutiplayer too much....:juggle2:
I must say...my favorite infected to play as is...."The Jockey":grin2:
I have ruined a few team efforts with that guy....but "The Jockey" is more like a Vulture, which made me hate it at first.
But after that crazed laugh and stopping a player from reaching the exit chopper on "Dark Carnival"...making a narrow win for my team.....I must say I was hooked:clown:
I hate the "Charger" though....I feel it's a bit cheap to charge people off the dock/bridge/rooftop areas....and I always miss when it matters most:shame:
Well, I just finished a movie and don't have to be up early tomorrow...
CR
And hes offline already.
Quitter. :grin2:
Everything is nicely balanced. I like how the game feels, but I yearn for Francis, Bill, Zoey and pills here!
just played a game where all 4 of us got the the chopper in the finale of the parish, me with about 6 health - screaming at myself rochelle all the way to go faster to the chopper and avoiding the tank, get in then one of my team mates friendly fires just before the last team mate gets on the chopper - leaving me dead and the rest safe.
Unsurprisingly I had to go and have a lie down after that.:furious3:
Bummer..
I hate ff incaps.
After you left we found a good server and had some fun. All kiwi's/Aussies though.
Adrenaline deals with any tank easily enough
You get excited when you see the tank? Not me. The female boomer's and the spitter's floppy tits makes my adrenaline spike.
How so? Is that adrenaline + melee mayhem or adrenaline + automatic shotgun (to the face)?
I had an unpleasant christmas shopping experience at the weekend, where the mall was completely packed. I'm afraid I did mention to my girlfriend that things would be much easier if one were to go shopping with a semi-auto shotgun as per Dead-center.
Perhaps it's just as well the Uk has strict gun controls...:sweatdrop:
