Well based on the write ups thus far everyone who has been lynched/murdered has obviously been scum, so I predict a town win in one more day.
I'll go with the odds and predict doom for the town.
Please don't be such a party pooper. I am an optimist, and it is clear that with a united plebian front we can squelch this internal threat.
As night falls over Rome once again we enter the house of Publius Egnatius Celer (BestcrfPlayer) a lone figure enters the room and finds Celer seemingly in a coma the man gives a gallic shrug before killing Celer in a way that would cause unimaginable pain slowly bleeding out over the next several days as no man seem to come to the house of Celer nore has Celer left it in some time.
Publius Egnatius Celer (BestcrfPlayer) is dead
We now move to another man's house but this house has a much better quality of person living in it Helvidius Priscus (ATPG) is his name and republicanism is his game. This is the man that fought constantly for the republic to be returned a man for who virtue was not some word to be thrown about in elections but was a way of life. The figures move into his house and unlike the other time Priscus is still awake he looks into the eyes of the men that now surround him. The first man begins and commands that Helvidius Priscus not to go into the senate, he replied, "It is in your power not to allow me to be a member of the senate, but so long as I am, I must go in." "Well, go in then," says the man, "but say nothing." "Do not ask my opinion, and I will be silent." "But I must ask your opinion." "And I must say what I think right." "But if you do, I shall put you to death." "When then did I tell you that I am immortal? You will do your part, and I will do mine: it is your part to kill; it is mine to die, but not in fear: yours to banish me; mine to depart without sorrow. I am a man who know the rightness of my beliefs my death shall not stop them nor shall the threat of it make me cower in my bed. Kill me and be done with it. The assassins nod to each other and with the Priscus is killed

So what's happening with that "catch up" of yours?

ATPG may have been killed by someone he knew or was in cahoots with.
I am going to be gone for the next week with no access to a computer
We all knew Helvidius, Prescus, senator. We were all (or should have all been) in cahoots with him. Most of us here are republicans, as was our departed friend. It is clear that certain traitorous elements in our midst are thinning our ranks, removing the most powerful or influential of us. No small-time upstart is behind these murders. No, it must be a man who in turn has great power and influence that is responsible. A man who seeks the imperial throne. I have my suspicion: Vespasian.Quote:

OOC: So which one of you is Vespasian?
...
For now, I can only recommend that each Senator invest in a larger personal guard for the coming nights.
Why would anyone want to kill a lurker? That is not a good strategy by the mafia.
vote:visorslash His vote to tie I find suspicious.
Is it me or is this game not seeing a lot of activity?
There are two night kills, so why are you so sure that the lurker kill is by the mafia?Quote:

Wait, what do you mean by this? I was under the assumption that there were 2 mafiosi who got 2 kills per night, regardless of numbers - that seems to be the most common rules in use at the Org, from what I gather. Also, Captain Blackadder said that if BestrfcPlayer didn't show up during the next day phase he would be WoGed, so his death can't have been because of that. To me, that suggests classical_hero is correct, and one of the mafiosi is inexperienced. Or pretending to be. Or maybe they want us to think that... WIFOM, my head hurts. Anybody, the only inexperienced player that fits the bill is Mortmorency, so for the interim I'll:
vote: Montmorency
I don't think so. Typically mafia get one kill for the team, in ATPG's game, 7 mafia (I think) and only two night kills. SO I'd say for a small game, one kill would be suffiicient, especially with a town vig or SK.Quote:

Or someone who wants to kill a lurker personally.
1 kill, 3 members seems the logical choice.
Khaan must die.
I think, from my memory of the previous games, the mafia had one kill per the entire team. In a small game with 17 players, three mafia is balanced I think, and with one nightkill at that. I think two members with two kills is slighlty unbalanced. A serial killer or protown vigilante along with 3 scums in a 17 player game seems okay to me. Maybe there are some other power roles.
Fair enough, I was mostly going off Mafia X, which is the only game I've really looked at here. My/Classical_hero's point about the inexperience of one of the killers still stands, though.
That's a one of a kind game.
I suppose you may have a point...

Incidentally folks, have a tally:
2 x GibonSg (johnhughtom, MRD)
2 x Montmorency (Ishmael, Visorslash)
1 x Populus Romanus (classical_hero)
1 x Visorslash (autolycus)
Thanks. You're doing really well for a first game in my opinion.
Thankyou. To be honest, I'm surprised I wasn't lynched as scum in the first day - my enthusiasm from this being my first mafia game is making me post way more than normal, which from what I gather can sometimes appear suspicious :beam:. As to the tallies, my brain craves order and statistics, so seeing as I'd be keeping them anyway I figure I may as well post them. I apologise in advance if my blindness to the identities of the mafiosi is the death of the town :laugh4:.
I end up having an abnormal post count lol. It's so bad. :P
:inquisitive:
As RPing in this one seems to be, ah...
We all have personal goals, but if there are 3 Mafia/special, the rest must be pro-Republic/town. Which, of course, I claim to be. Yesterday's lynch writeup was a bit unlike the 4 other deaths. Is that significant?
As my defense, I'll say that, for one, I'm not that inexperienced. I've read through 3 or 4 games here. :clown:
Remember that tomorrow (Day 4) there will be only 8, maybe 9, left. I don't suppose anyone here is a "legit best Mafia player, for realsies", but why risk a Mafia X repeat with frivolous lynches? Of course, there are no good candidates as of now and probably won't be until the endgame, so I'm probably as valid a choice as any.
I haven't said it for nearly 12 hours, so here it is.
Khaan must die.

It's worse than that: I want to sell your land to the barbarians, thereby disenfranchising you freemen while cementing my own position with hordes of loyal warriors! :D
