Re: Best thing you ate today
Nice one, Hosa. Two things I typically don't go an entire week without consuming; blue cheese and Stella. yummy
Best thing I had today was prolly the Chicken Caesar Salad for late lunch. Taking it real easy on the diet this week so I can cut loose in Vegas this weekend, and still show myself in public in poolside attire.

Sitting on the grass at a client's house eating leftover chicken risotto with leftover Greek salad thrown on top for lunch. Really good.

Re: Best thing you ate today
Hot and humid today so a cold plate. Home made potato salad with wasabi mayo for a kick, smoked tuna salad, dollop of cold leftover baked beans on a bed of green leaf lettuce from the garden, garnished with home grown cherry tomatoes, garden cucumber slices, radishes, carrot & celery sticks washed down with iced tea.
Like Beirut, we sat in the grass under a shade tree and enjoyed a comfortable breeze, and the wonderful scent of the roses in the garden. :daisy:

I'm enjoying some Ciao Bella Blackberry Cabernet Sorbetto right now, for the first time. The slight wine flavor is really nice, actually. I was a bit skeptical, but figured I'd try it. Glad I did.

Re: Best thing you ate today
I found maybe 2 lbs. of semi-sweet chocolate my mom had in the fridge. I melted some down added lightly salted peanuts. Wow, that was the greatest ***** I've ever had in my life. :laugh4:

Not actually today, but on Sunday night I was in LA's Chinatown and had the best Hot and Sour soup I've ever had. The Peking Duck was excellent as well.

Re: Best thing you ate today
Bacon-wrapped, Hebrew National hotdogs, grilled/smoked over mesquite charcoal.
4 July = hotdogs
Who knew they could be made actually tasty?

Re: Best thing you ate today
Hah, that reminds me of another stop in LA. These hotdogs were fantastic, but I still prefer the east coast classic Nathan's. Are you a Nathan's Hotdogs man, Kukri?

Yuppers, if for no other reason than Milton Berle's famous

when honoring Coney Island's fabulous frankfurter (and by extension, america).
I enjoy the hint of garlic aftertaste Nathan's has. Plus they have thicker casings/skins, making them more grill-friendly, therefore less likely to blister/burn when cooked by beer-soaked klutzes like me.

Yanno, I never gave it a second thought, 'til now. I guess I've sealed my fate then - what is this handbasket I seem to be riding in?
But I gotta say: for hotdogs, they were devilishly delicious.

Re: Best thing you ate today
You guys just rock...
The doctor told me yesterday - no more red meat for you.
So I took the salad bar for lunch today.
Ok, I am going to be specific. I put this in my bowl:
Lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, Tuna, Chicken, peanuts, cooked egg, pasta, pineapple, corn, crabsticks and cheese. On top I poured over some white dressing – probably some sour cream based with chives.
With it I had two glasses of water and a rye roll with healthy butter.
Yep I am definitely loosing weight. I am probably going to look like BKS if this continues.

My youngest nieces (Livy twin 1, Natalie the elder, Emmy twin 1A) are out from Boston Mass. for a visit. So I whipped up some homemade chocolate chip waffles with butter pecan syrup topped with whip cream for breakfast. Yeah, they don't need the sugar buzz, but I got a feeling I will.gotta practice that grampa thing for next years arrival

Vegetarian pityil [pe-chill] which is basically some vegetables and peanut sambal (which is a brown spicy one with "peanut taste" having little pieces of peanut and such in it). Tasty and very spicy. My tongue was burning hotter than the fires of hell. And let me tell you, hell is hot.

Re: Best thing you ate today
Avocado mashed, spread on wholegrain with a slice of cheese then put into a sandwich toaster... Babywaio eats it too.

Re: Best thing you ate today
I don't remember eating an actual meal today.

Re: Best thing you ate today
A couple O' Lagers and Some Extremely Good Fish and Chips found at a little stand down at the wharf. The Only other place I've ever had better was another little place when I strayed into Manchester.
...Maxwell's was the name of the place I believe.

Yummy.

Re: Best thing you ate today
Alright... I bet this will get your mouths watering.
This weekend I had freshly cooked crab claws with homemade waldorf salad and crispy white bread.
It was actually a buffet with other seafood... but I stuck with the claws and lots of them.

Pandan rice, chicken and fresh garlic.
