1. Well, I'm a college student. Not much shame in that.
2. The shame (and that's arguable) is that I'm a Resident Advisor. That's right, go ahead and pelt me with garbage. I serve with the noble few whose job it is to break up parties, mediate roommate disputes, and make colorful door decorations out of construction paper. The last part is my favorite! [/sarcasm]
3. I play primarily as Catholics because I can't figure out a way to victory other than brute pummeling from heavy infantry.
4. I hate cavalry archers because of this. I hated the4m in the last game, and find them even more annoying in this one, thanks to their shooting circle.
5. I also never play online, and again, it's because I fear pwnage.
6. I'm a big nerd when it comes to the American Civil War, and have actually
7. I feel kind of bad about making $8.50/hr to sit at a desk and do nothing but watch movies and look at the internet all day, but my school is paying me to do it. I just feel bad because my friends work considerably-harder jobs with the Facilities department for the exact same pay.
8. I met the Timurids for the first time yesterday, and it, uh, didn't go so well.
9. I, too, describe my travails in Medieval to people who have no idea what the hell I'm talking about, and whether or not a particular offensive was successful can totally ruin my day. But my friends are amazing, and put up with me anyway.
10. I don't currently have a girlfriend, but there does seem to be a mutual interest with this girl, so we'll see where that goes. [Insert bad pun about "getting back in the saddle" here]
That's about it, I think.
Great post.
Say, would you like some tips on dealing with the Mongol/Timurid invasion?
I am regarded somewhat as one of the foremost experts of ultra-aggressive blitz style warfare on this forum, having captured 50 regions by turn 16 with the Holy Roman Empire, all 106 regions with France and England by turn 58, and victory Egypt by turn 35.
I even did a Russian blitz campaign. 50 regions by turn 45 (If you've ever played Russia, you know that is bordering on the impossible)
I can help you beat those annoying little pests, if you'd like some advice.
I can't believe this thread has 120 posts.

Don't sweat being an RA. You are the responsible adult that some of fools need in college. Insofar as not having as much work as some of your friends, don't sweat that either. Some people don't have the "wherewithall" to lay down the rules. Some people can't handle being the bad guy. Really, you are keeping things safe.
My nephew was an RA for a couple of years, and mostly it was putting up with the clowns who have no responsibility. The year after he left, some fool started a fire in the hallway. It was a six story dorm so you can imagine the safety concerns. Luckily, it was put out quickly.
I forgot to mention that no one listens to me about my game either before. I just shuffle into my own little world where I can either be Saint or Sinner.
I have had 4 kings in my last game that had the title of Saint (before my Vh/Vh victory. ) Anyone else try to do that regularly?

I have, but my accomplishment is tainted. I can get every single general "the saint" because I have the unmodified original version of the game. You simply join/leave/join a crusade until you have "the saint". Of course, anyone who is not an uber dread general can get the saint quite easily by doing a crusade, winning the crusade, and releasing prisoners the whole time.
For orthodox and Muslim factions, it's not so easy. You basically release until you are dead from old age.

I still haven't figured out how to modify posts. I don't know if you can.
i'll try for "life history"
1. I'm very radical, viewing IRL Muslin, Christian religion as equally stupid. However, when I play M2 I can't play Muslim factions and I always join crusades. For some reason the ideal of a chivalric Christian factions makes me happy.
2. I role play M2 when i'm bored. I like to imagine liberating a captured town, inspiring my troops to fight, and becoming the greatest brave commander.
3. I'm writing this from my work where I make a good $19 an hour.
4. I love using siege equipment because I think it's saving troops' lives.
5. I get so immersed in the game I'll send my general out as the rear guard to protect fleeing troops. When he dies, i'm stoked. I love the immersion
6. I hate knowing I grew up poor but things turned around, but I'd rather live making music and making myself happy than getting a big job that could potentially help others.
7. I pissed in a water bottle once while play M2 so I wouldn't have to go to the bathroom. Ack.

I will let it die when it is time for it to die... but not without some CPR
My threads are my children. When your children die, you make new ones.
(Apologies for the dark humor)
1. I'm far too old to be playing games (e.g. 52), or so I'm told.
2. I am a freelance government consultant, which basically means I only need to work 6 months a year. If I put myself out I could probably be rich, but I can't be bothered with the hassle.
3. I'd rather play games than work.
4. I frequently become so immersed in a game that I forget what time it is until I hear the morning bird song outside the window.
5. I spend most of my day on the computer and frequently forget what day it actually is. I neglected to collect my son for his weekend with me one Friday because I thought it was Wednesday.
6. My ex-wife cited my obsession with computer games as the main reason for the breakdown of our marriage. (It wasn't really...in fact escaping into computer games was the way I coped with the fact that I knew she didn't care about me anymore.)
7. As per 6 above I tend to use computer games as a means to distract me from reality.
8. I'm a bit of history nerd, and will happily bore the pants off of anyone willing to listen to my lifetime of accumulated historical trivia.
9. I'm also a control freak, and hate it when things become chaotic. I particularly hate not being able to find things and something not being where it is supposed to be is guarantee'd to drive me into a rage. This is a particular problem now I need reading glasses which are always going missing.
10. I live alone....probably because I found it impossible to choose between the two women I was closest to, though I suspect I have burned both my options in that respect now, although I still remain friends with both, and I can't be bothered to go through the emotional trauma of trying to sort it out, even though it costs me a fortune in birthday and christmas presents. One of these is my ex-wife who still manages to manipulate me when she wants to.
11. I honestly believe that playing strategy games is good experience for real life Project Managers and executives, and favour people with those hobbies when interviewing candidates for project roles.
12. My 14 year old son is better at MTW2 than I am, in fact he's better at most computer games than I am.
13. Its now 2pm and I'm sitting here writing this still in pajama's. I think the local postwoman assumes I am a nightworker because I always seem to answer my door in my dressing gown.
14. I get quite obsessive about relatively trivial issues particularly if they are history related and find it hard to walk away from a debate. My eldest son claims I'm a forum troll.
15. I don't particularly like myself, and never have done, and so I tend to assume that nobody else would be that stupid either which means I have quite a small circle of friends and naturally assume that all my relationships will not last very long.
16. I believe that caring too much about anything makes you vulnerable and so I try not to care too much about anything. I never clean my car and avoid becoming overly proud of anything. However, I was quite proud of my 20/20 vision (I used to be able to paint the iris in the eyes of my 30mm wargame figures and every button on their gaiters) which is probably why my eyesight is failing.
17. I play World of Warcraft, and my main character is a female warlock.

Looking at the bottom of the Citadels page, you can sort all the threads by this or that and I sorted them out from the beginning and ranked them by replys. There are some with more but I felt that this was the actual first thread worth counting because some were "Whats this going to be like when M2TW comes out" or I think Moderator created and possibly had a sticky at some time.

I'm the guy on the right that ISN'T falling asleep.
Yesterday my internet was off (Neighbors weren't home and their router went down.) and I was having major Guild Withdraws. After actually playing M2TW, I realized that I didn't mark any shames so here are the shames of my life.
My girlfriend cares deeply for me but I think she cares for her exhusband (yes, the ahole with the knife who is in prison right now) more and plans to go back to him when he gets home.
The reason I didn't go out with the girl at work thats hella hot is that I am a sucker to just stay and be committed. I will stay no matter how bad something gets instead of leaving and taking a "risk" in relationships. Not so much with anything else, just relationships.
Saying no to that girl in Vietnam was the hardest thing that I could ever do. (Please see #2) Like I said she has HIV and she just found out after I came back but I never in my whole life wanted a girl more to take to the room before. For the rest of the trip, when my girlfriend and I did something, my mind was elsewhere.
M2TW sometimes is too much work to play so I often just read threads here just to get my fix.
I believe that the "Full Multiplayer Campaign" mode would never be played because nobody plays online due to the fear of losing, so how is it better to lose an EMPIRE compared to just a battle?
The reason why I started to play as England is that they are the most "evil" of the factions. Throughout history they have had a foothold here or a conquest there. Now that I can play as the rebels, I have moved on to them. I am a good person throughout my life so in games, I want to be purely evil (Still don't randomly kill people in GTA due to a conscious.) IN this game though my conscious gets in the way but in a WWII shooter, I have to be the Nazis.
I often wonder if the archers in M2TW or any TW game in general are neutered down compared to real life. I feel they don't get the kills they deserve.
My biggest fear in life right now is that my girlfriends "blossoming" young 14 year old daughter will come to my room (Sometimes my girlfriend wants to sleep alone) and say Do this/me or I scream rape or something of that sorts. My girlfriends mom came on to me one day and that was just too much, I haven't talked to her since nor has she came to me. She did tell my girlfriend that she should leave me which upsets the hell out of me.
I truly believe NO MAN gets as much sex as he wants. Except for gays and thats why us breeders hate them. (Kidding, relax on that one.)
I am currently mad at my girlfriend because she was showing off the house to the skanky people she works with and she completely talked down to me. At work when she wasn't popular (People used to just ignore her, I though she was just the only black girl we had a work) I took her in and have her meet my friends, made her feel good. BUT, when my friends found new jobs and she became friends with EVERYONE at work due to me, she now ignores my ass half the time. Really pisses me off and I am thinking about that girl at work more and more because its too much right now.
I am being peer pressured by EVERYONE at work to go with the younger girl, its gotten so bad that I don't talk to anyone anymore and the sad thing is is that there is nobody my age anymore and I am being pushed by 40 year olds.

Re: The secret shames of askthepizzaguy
This thread just gets more and more interesting.
In this thread, people laying it all bare. Decidedly unnerving but brutally honest.
So my turn?
1. I mostly play on E/E. I hate losing troops and I am an average gamer so hey I can live with it if the AI can. I have tried a couple of times on M/M on RTW but usually as the Romans so it is not that much harder.
2. Play online? Yeah well that will never happen (see above). I have never used horse archers nor any Muslim or Orthodox faction and only played a couple of custom battles with Egypt to see what everyone (Mithrandir) was on about the camels. I lost but thankfully some camels escaped.
3. I played Grand Turismo 4 (my first car racing simulator) for hours and got more and more frustrated with not winning much until my mate who has finished all the GT's and Forza told me that I was pushing the handbreak button not the break to try and get around the corners. It you could have been a fly on the wall to see him laugh and my tantrum. :wall:
4. I have a girlfriend that I think the world of and should probably propose to but I am a big chicken. My parents split when I was seven and a few of my friends are now going through divorces and some of those are ugly.
5. I secretly like her (my gf)'s cat. It is a pain in the proverbial but man is has some personality (and personality goes a long way). I hate other cats. Am I catist?
6. I do not like Seinfeld. I never got the humour as they just seemed to discuss stuff that you just get over and would normally not sweat about. Cosmo Kramer was funny though.
7. I love Greys Anatomy and Desperate housewives as the better half sits down and watches them religioulsy and I can sneak off to a bit of world domination.
8. Playing San Andreas my fav thing to do was pick you the girlfriend then head over to the airport, take off and jump out. Now my guy had a parachutte - she did not.
9. I would never consider dothingthis to my gf. She is afraid of flying.

Gahh, I have a problem with commitment. I only post once or twice in any single thread, then I just lose interest... So I wonder what will happen when I finally leave for the outside world. I'm currently just a polytechnic student
More stuff about Chinese guy(me <--- see my avatar picture?) who is extremely different from most chinese(other chinese)
.I am a master horse archer user, thx to playing the Turks frequntly. I have beaten a full stack of Hungarian troops(feudal knights and all) with just 6 elite Turkomans. (thx to AI stupidity)
.I hate MP. I have never played a MTW2 or any other startegy game for that matter online.
.I have successfully modded new elephants for the Turks and pride myself over it though most may call it amateurish.
.I love to read topics that spark flame wars just to see people calling each other racist, gays and whatnot.
.I love medieval history yet I can't remember a darn thing about it.
.I think most chinese love tofu, I hate the stuff.
.I would like to see if there are any other Asians in this forums(not necessarily, I'm actually Malaysian born chinese..check the map if you dont know where Malaysia is:shame: )

Re: The secret shames of askthepizzaguy
More secret shames:
1. In spite of being nicknamed askthepizzaguy, I am ranked 1,438th in this forum alphabetically.
2. I cut my own hair because I am too poor to afford haircuts.
3. However, when I do get haircuts, I still tip the person doing the cutting, because I have worked for tips before and I know how much it sucks. I'm actually not ashamed of that, but I thought I would mention it, so any cheap bastards out there would read it and learn something.
4. I am currently between jobs.
5. My dream career is to become a teacher.
6. I used to have a blog where I discussed politics, as if anyone cared to hear my opinion. And religion. And philosophy.
7. I have an I.Q. of 144 but I was a C and D student because I don't pay attention and can't remember shit.
8. Since entering college, I have become an A student. I try really hard to pay attention and I prefer studying alone at my own pace.
9. Someday I hope to write a book. Pathetic, huh? As if there aren't enough books out there already.
10. I foolishly believe in not settling for anything less than true love.
11. I don't do well in crowds of people.
12. I actually care if people get my jokes.
13. As I am writing this, I am wearing nothing more than what I was born in, minus the goo.
14. Because it is comfortable, dangit. At least I stay indoors.
15. No jokes about how I would do better in crowds of people if I wore clothes. I wear clothes when I go outside. Now shaddup already.
16. And I wear clothes when playing M2TW. And other various tasks.
17. I haven't bought new clothes in over two years.
18. I'm a lumberjack and I'm ok. I sleep all night and I work all day.
19. I am Mork from Ork. Nanu Nanu.
20. I am mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore.
21. I am the champions, my friend.
22. I am eggman, I am the walrus.
23. I am what I am, and that's all that I am.
24. I am the only son of an only child of an only child. I am the last of my clan.
25. I am whatever you say I am. If I wasn't, then why would they say I am.
26. I am old enough to know better, but too young to care.
27. I have advanced delusional schizophrenia with involuntary narcissistic rage.
28. The last time I had a girlfriend was over a year and a half ago.
29. I haven't seen a dentist since 1990 because I am poor.
30. I wish someone would smash into my car so I would be able to use the insurance money to pay it off.
31. My credit rating is terrible
32. I once had the nickname "Can't get right" when I worked in construction, and later as a dishwasher.
33. That's from the movie "Life". I didn't pick it.
34. This list is padded.
35. See?
36. More blatant padding.
37. I don't have a middle name.
38. I skipped number 43.
39. I don't drink, smoke, do drugs, and apparently, I don't have sex either.
40. I am a fan of Star Trek.
41. I think Yeardley Smith has a sexy voice.
42. I couldn't care less about Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, or Lindsay Lohan.
44. I wish I could be an assistant moderator on this forum.
45. I prefer to let the woman make the first move because I am too shy.
46. But I'm still a big, tough, brutish bloodthirsty conqueror in this game. If you doubt it, I will feed you your own entrails and then impale you lengthwise upon a stake, while forcing you to listen to K-Fed's rap song. You will consider the immolation that follows to be a relief, and will welcome sweet, sweet death.
47. I am afflicted with the curse of the white male. If you don't know what that is, I'll get you a ruler.
48. I have the balls to make that public knowledge.
49. I'm running out of shames to share.
50. I couldn't think of a joke good enough to put here.
