It´s just a fact that germans are the people who travels most. But it was supposed to be like "watch where you are traveling to, if you dont wanna meet some Plattenbaupeople", not like "we are superior to j00 all n00bz".
And if I want to swim in a contaminated, dead sea, I dont need to travel to the baltic area. North sea is also fine.

Ah, but this is the problem with American multi-culturalism, McDonalds, cheap Hyundai cars, plastics and other synthetics, and terrible pop-culture music.

There be just not enough Johansen Wurtenfreists, Bruce Cunninghams, Earnest Livingshires, Louis DuFontes, Leonardo Papricis and other stereotypes in the world.
While they might be used by others for purposes of insulting, it is the greatest and most important closure, the feeling of a loyal and respected nation, unique throughout the world, that I cannot ever feel here in the run-down servant continent of Australia.
I envy it above all things, I wish it was not still in decline, but all cultures are retreating, and Australia's was destroyed after the second-half of the previous century, before it even began.

New to the EB forum, figured I'd post in here.

My real name is Patrick, I'm in the United States Army. I work as a crewman in an MLRS (multiple launch rocket system). I've been deployed to Iraq once already and spent aprox 13 months there (and as a result became the first kid on the block with a confirmed kill!), there are rumors we may go again for 15 months. I live in Oklahoma, where I am stationed, with my wife and our new puppy.

Might I welcome you, though a recent member myself, to this forum Stumpff of America, but might I also suggest that you keep your tellings of the Iraqi war to a minimum.
This is not a silence a soldier of a war from his opinion, nor to become offensive, but because I think that you have not come here as a soldier, but as a civilian, and that there are many people divided over the war you have served in. I for one am, at times openly, negatively inclined to both America and their wars.
But I don't wish to see fighting in such a handsome place as the tavern.
I simply felt a pang of anger, and also saw Maior's reply.

At the very least, I would suggest you do not mention killing in such a glorified, competitive light again..

Hi to ya all! I'm sorry to be so late in responding but I had to run in full gear for 20 km yesterday... Oh, the army fun! I have my laptop hiding in my car in the camp's parking lot, so eveytime I use it it's kind of an adventure. Plus, I'm gonna get my ass seriously wooped if I ever get caught. But still... Bootsiuv, army service is still mandatory, even though for 12 months only. Once you're over 18 you'll get drafted, unless you're studying, in which case they'll wait patiently for you to get a degree. Than, you're in! The fun fact is that I'll get posted in the Army's special forces as a doctor in 30 days, and have to follow their training course. Why? Just damn luck. The first thing you learn in the greek army is that common sense no longer applies... OK, now I have to stop ranting, thank you all for your patience!

A neighbor of me asked me if I could help her out with a problem with the computer normally she would ask her son but he was out of the country so I said ok and went inside her house ... no no no sex in this story

But she had a problem with MSN she couldn't get connected and she wanted to talk to ...because... and ... blablabla

so I said ok try to log in and I will see what you're doing wrong so she did that while she was doing that she told me that there was probably something wrong with her password look she said normally I only have to click here and then I can chat but the password field is empty so I fill it in and then it said wrong password I tried everything she said 1* 5* 10* but I'm 100% sure there were 8******** all the time:oops: :wall: :embarassed: :embarassed: :embarassed: :embarassed:

She is around 50 years old so not very handy with computers

I was referring to fire fights in Iraq, oh which I reserve the right to be proud of, as they were victories. Just mere conisidence that I dropped in on 9/11.

Now, now, now....real world politics have no place in the EB TAVERN (as much as that "no one likes america anymore" crack hurts).

Your a soldier, you did your duty, that I can respect.

You just should realize that there are people from all countries and cultures, and many people don't agree with American involvement in Iraq. Hell, even most americans don't agree with the war (and never did, really, Bush just used our patriotic emotion to finish a personal family grudge).

Now, have a round on me, and let us speak of the politics of 272 BCE, not those of today, which I enjoy forgetting when I come here.

Definitely not alcoholics . A car bomb is combo a light colored lager with a clear hard liquor . A dirty car bomb is instead a dark lager .

Gee, I don't approve of Bush's Iraq debacle either, but it's hardly stumpff's fault, is it? You're thrown in there and told to follow orders. So we do. I feel for him, being in the Singapore army myself (and forced to be here, gah). Don't let some of the patrons get you down, stumpff, they're just drunk and they're like that when they are. *takes you to a seat* Here, a round of whatever you want, on me!

But really, killing and all that aside, I'm just curious about what you hit. Fair enough, it's kill or be killed in ol' Babylonia, so I am not going to fall into the no-win trap the others have fallen into of making value judgements.

But if this topic is making everyone else uncomfortable except those who are currently in armies (Greek, American, Singaporean, wow this is like some low-level defence summit!), then perhaps it would be wiser to switch to more inconsequential topics like what would be the best song to play next on that antiquated jukebox in the corner... *shifts over and starts selecting songs*

I agree partially....he's a soldier who did his duty.

That being said, he really shouldn't be coming in here talking of confirmed kills. I could have told him that was going to create a lot of harsh feelings from the get-go. It's not like this is an american only forum....even if it was, he would still get chewed out because so many of us are against that war.

You really have no idea how much I hate Bush. I can't even stand to look at him on the tv screen anymore.

Various "technicals" but I will leave it at that so as not to make anyone uncomfortable. It was, initially, a bad attempt at sarcasm on my part. Was not ment to offend anyone.

Don't worry Stumpff.

Who are we to judge? Everyone does things which others may view as distasteful, to say the least.

Now pull up a stool and have a brewski with us, and let us talk of things other than war (which is kind of weird for a total war site, I know).

maybe this could be the start of a new thing, almost impossible to accomplish, full of bugs, and always having to be patched, and which will take another eternity to achieve... the next Total Conversion mod, Europa Barbarorum: Total Peace! Now THAT would be a challenge. Now, you have to PREVENT war from happening, even if you have got the coolest unit roster with really flashy skins and are BURNING to use them for what they were meant to be used for. Yeah, that could be cool. Then we could change the 'see city on battle map' option to 'drill army', so the only time you'd see your army in battle mode would be on the parade ground...
