I'm not gonna ask makaikhaan to confirm your ability, but I must say that is a pretty slick ability (and most unexpected).
Unfortunately, lynching CR isn't in my best interest.

Sorry, but I don't think a serial killer can win if the mafia are left alive. This is, sadly, the only prudent path.

Your vote, if true, makes a tie, I think, invoking Makaikhaan's rule:

Re: Spirit Mafia (In Play)
Makaikhaan held the council once more, now feeling much more desperate than the previous night. The killing had not stopped, and in fact, had kept pace. It was not looking good now, with only a sparse chamber now remaining from his original entourage of servants and guards. Amongst the small group, some made grand proclamations about the imminent conquest of the castle by the spirit realm. Others simply looked stunned. However, when the day ended, KukriKhan was selected to be killled. When his name was announced, KukriKhan simply smiled sadly, but not bitterly. He knelt down before Makaikhaan with no forceful measures being needed from the guards. Makaikhaan
held the sword carefully to the neck, pulled it back, and with great force, struck it through. Though the blade struck through cleanly, no blood came, and the head did not come free. Rather, KukriKhan's body simply vanished into thin air...

Everyone alive knows who's going to try and kill who. Everyone knows the inevitable outcome, but we're going through the motions anyway.
It's been a fun ride and I don't regret letting my enemies live; it helped kill the town. Though if I was completely sure Sigurd was lying, I might have acted differently. But the end will be the same.
The one absolute surety is that the town has lost. Now we just need to see who wins.

Re: Spirit Mafia (In Play)
Alrighty, I'm starting the writeup. No more orders(not that I anticipate any) will be taken.
Edit: it might be a bit longer wait than usual. This is kinda unusual...
-
Re: Spirit Mafia (In Play)
First of all; like everything else in this world, reading this writeup will be made far better if done whilst listening to this.
T'was the dead of night, in the castle of Makaikhaan. A half-moon hid behind a blanket of clouds, leaving a seemingly suffocating darkness over the land. A strong gust blew, bringing with it the chill of fall. However, inside the castle, the torches and oil lamps ensured that neither the darkness, nor the chill, could penetrate its walls.
However, inside a cozy hallway in the eastern wing, far up on the fourth floor, neither the torches nor the lamps were in need. For a powerful biped was strolling through its walls, its skin emanating purple sparks and shocks ever eternally. No matter where the being went, it never needed any other source of light than its own. Unfortunately, however, this made the being rather inadequate at sneaking, be it the light that gave it away, or if its quarry heard it approach due to the constant chatter of electricity which roved its skin. The being stopped at a sudden, extending its gait straight up. It turned its head behind. It thought it heard something; nothing loud. It was almost as though someone had quietly chuckled behind him. However, t'was clear that there was, in fact, nothing hehind it. Slightly puzzed, it nonetheless continued back to its stroll through the hall. However, two seconds later, it once again stood straight up. There was no peer behind, this time. The being shook its head violently for an instant. Upon finishing this momentary excercise, the being immediately headed back from whence it came. However, there was not even an attempt this time at secrecy; rather, it bounded as quickly as possible, back to the stairs. It literally leaped down the case. Within a second, it was back to the third floor. Not content with its position, it continued its mad escapade downwards, to the second floor. Upon reaching its new elavation, it sprinted down the new hall upon the second floor. It took a left upon reaching a T-corner, to a dead end. At the end of the hallway, a red-skinned being stood in a doorway, its back to the hall.
The sparking creature raised a hand, palm facing Red. Red turned around, having heard the sparks, as well as noticing the new shadow which had been created on the comatose body of GH in front of him. Red held a book in its left hand, as well as a brush in its right. The sparking being gathered the faintly purple electricity into a ball, then delivered it with all its might. In the narrow hall, it seemed it would be impossible to avoid. But Red, it seemed, had tricks up his own sleeve. Red raised a hand of his own. Seemingly by magic, boards in the siding of the hallway splintered out of place; they formed in an instant in front of Red, forming a non-conductive shield. The electric blast hit the shield, gave off a sharp blast, and died in a moment. Red held up the book, a bored look upon his face. He held up the brush. The sparking being rushed quickly straight to Red, knocking the floating shield away, before leaping forwrd. Red looked mildly suprised, but simply sidestepped into a vacant hole where a piece of wall used to be. The sparking creature caught its balance, turned 270 degrees, and with his left hand, shot a bolt once more towards Red. Red leaped backwards, into the night, seeming to glide through the air.
The bolt shot errantly into the night. The sparking being leapt after Red into the night. It landed in the courtyards. It could see nothing beyond five yards, the extent to which his own light extended. The sparking being quickly realized this was very bad for it; he could be seen, but could not see Red in this environment, something that would have to be fixed if he was to survive. The sparking creature raised its hands into the air, stretching his gaze upwards to the clouded night. Its mouth opened up a gutteral roar to the night sky, while electric bolts shot from both hands, creating a fantastic display of sight and sound, if only for a moment. The clouds began to reciprocate the being; they rumbled loudly, before shooting off a bolt of their own. The sound grew louder, into mighty thunderclaps, whle the bolts became more impressive in their own right. The fall wind continued to blow, creating the effect of a perfect storm brewing. And then, in an act of natural providence, the shadow of what could only be Red was silhouttted against a spectacular lightning shower, high up in the sky. The sparking creature roared once more to nature, and a dark cloud appeared from under him, lifting him high to the sky. With a gust, it rushed him to his opponent, who could be seen attempting once more at brush strokes in its book.
The sparking creature raised a hand once more, then brought it down in a diagonal pattern, like a composer. Still copying his movements, the storm shot a spectacular stream of purple particles at Red. Red stuffed the book into its sash, gliding through the air. The sparking being raised both hand, bringing them down in the direction of Red once more. Two tremendous shots outreached towards their target, only to be dodged once more. The movements became more frantic, quicker and quicker, but still no bolt struck its target. The game continued onwards longer than either could count; Red could do no more than dodge the strikes, whilst the sparking being remained unable to deliver a kill shot.
However, the solution, in an instant, became apparent to the sparking being. As it brought two more shots of nature's wrath down, it began charging charging its own strike, one that didn't require use of his arms. From deep inside its gut, it began storing up as much charge as it could wield. As Red continued to glide through the air, the sparked creature kicked its cloud into high speed, then using more thunderous bolts to gently "guide" Red closer to him. He neared within 15 yards. Red glided just out of the way of two previous bolts, when the sparking creature open its mouth, and let loose a fantastic shot if its own, directly in the path Red was traveling. Red simply had no chance to avoid it; the blast struck direct and true.
Glyphz could not believe it. It felt like a tremendous high. Sparks ran through his body at a million miles per hour. However, he knew this wasn't good. His skin was turning from Red to a dark brown as it fried. His arms went limp, beyond his control. He soon lost his ability to defy gravity, and he felt himself begin plummeting to the ground. The last thing he was aware of was the dull "thud" his body made when it contacted the soil.
Chaotix stepped towards Glyphz' unmoving body. He stooped down, and plucked the brush and book from the sash. Amazingly, both appeared to be in perfect condition, untouched. As he stalked back to the castle, he did an about face. Bringing both hands downward, for one more time, two magificent bolts struck Glyphz and blowing apart a small crater where the body had layed.
With an impressive leap, Chaotix returned to the hole where he had left the castle. He stood in the hallway, the only sound that of his own semi-controlled powers. He peered back into the room where Red had been standing. GH's body still lay comatose. Chaotix opened the book he had taken from Glyphz. On the most recent page, was his name, half-written. Picking up the brush, and taking a small amount of oil from a nearby lamp, Chaotix finished it. With the last stroke complete, Chaotix immediately slumped to the ground. The book fell from a limp hand, as did the brush. And with an impressive flash, Chaotix' body dissolved into nothing, with an impressive electrical charge bursting down the hall, blasting yet one more hole into the unfortunate siding. As the charges dispersed, a faint titter could be heard echoing through the room...

Many thanks to FactionHeir for that inspiration for this move.
Before a general hub-bub erupts over this, let me say: IANAL, but (heehee; how many 'net conversations start with that phrase?) it is clear to me, from a close reading of the game rules and my own role-assigning PM, that this is legal, and allowed, if unconventional.
Re-animation of a single player is assigned to me as a power. So I clearly cannot raise Sigurd or CountArach, for example, having already raised YLC once. But nothing in the rules or my role PM state explicitly that I can only use the power once, or that I, a spirit-being, cannot send such an order in from the grave of my corporeal being, now sadly lynched by scum.
Following the American legal paradigm of "That which is not prohibited - is allowed", I assert my privilege of resurrecting YLC again.
p.s. in my opinion, YLC, although murdered most foully a second time, should have been given investigative results on the night of his 2nd snuff. Just saying.

It sounds good, but unfortunately, there are a couple of flaws:
- First of all, you are correct in saying it is not prohibited - yet. khaan has yet to even attempt to make judgment on the matter.
- Second of all, I don't think YLC gets instantly resurrected - he may be good to go at the start of next round even if this were allowed, but by then it's the end of the game.
Nice try, smartypants. :laugh4:

Re: Spirit Mafia (In Play)
Makaikhaan walked back into the main hall, hoping to find that the killing had stopped. Upon entering the room, however, he deadpanned. There were but two people; GeneralHankerchief and CrazedRabbit. Upon witnessing the lord's entrance, both immediately pointed at the other, and yelling in synchronization, "HE'S THE KILLER. I'M INNOCENT!"
Makaikhaan was stumped. This wasn't supposed to happen. However, he himself was clueless on who to kill. He stated to the two men, "One of you MUST be a killer. Hence, I will send you both off to bed for the night; whomever remains alive MUST be the killer!"
Hoping he hadn't made a terrible mistake, Makaikhaan sent the two off, hoping this would resolve itself.
No one was lynched!

so, since I am
I gracefully surrender, and bid all adieu.
I've enjoyed the time here. Really. And wish you all happiness and good luck.
My apologies if I came across as aggressive, Kukri. You've been nothing short of exemplary throughout this game. By all means, feel free to continue contributions. I was merely pointing that, as far as the game is concerned, your character is in fact, deceased. I would be nothing short of elated for you to join in any of my future games.

Your role was simple-minded and easy to manipulate?

Re: Spirit Mafia (In Play)
Crazed Rabbit strolled through down a hallway, carrying a large bag over his shoulder. An indescribable form clearly lay captive inside the bag, though it did not move. Crazed Rabbit was seemed to be in a rather unconcerned mood; indeed, he was whistling quite loudly, as though he cared not whether anything or anyone heard him. As he turned a corner, his unnaturally dark skin tingled, as though he had just stepped into an invisible mist. An almost silent laughing could be heard, though it seeemed to emanate from nothing.
No longer feeling quite as jolly as before, he picked up his pace. He reached a staircase, taking it quickly up to the second floor. His quickened pace gradually transformed into a sort of light trot, then into a near sprint. However, no matter fast he went, the tingling would not abate. He pulled a sharp left and a t-corner, and stared down to the dead end. There was a large hole in the right side of the wall, evidence of some kind of previous engagement. Without warning, the tingling suddenly vanished. Feeling jaunty again, he took a calm pace towards the end room. Not one for subtlety, Crazed Rabbit simply battered down the rice-paper door with one swing of his hand.
Inside, all that lay beyond was what appeared to be a comatose person. GeneralHankerchief's body seemed to be completely immobile; it was clearly evident that it was barely breathing. Crazed Rabbit opened the bag, and hastily dumped the contents on the floor. The corpse of Makaikhaan fell out, along with a few possessions. Crazed Rabbit picked up a scabbard, and pulled out Makaikhaan's most prized sword. He raised it above GeneralHankerchief, preparing to strike the body down. As the sword began its descent, Crazed Rabbit once again felt the same chill on his skin. Without warning, GeneralHankerchief's body quicky raised itself, and began scrambling away madly from his armed opponent. In the confused withdrawal, GeneralHankerchief accidentally slammed into a wall. Taking advantage, CR leaped forward and jammed the sword forwards much like a madly oversized dagger. The blade rammed right through GeneralHankerchief's gut. Crazed Rabbit promptly ripped it straight upwards, splitting the body literally in half; bone, muscle, and tendon alike. With the body's death, a terrible shriek rang out through the otherwise silent castle. And as suddenly as it rang, so it disappeared; no fading, no hesitation. Just gone.
T'was the night before Kanro, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. However, leaving the courtyards, a Crazed Rabbit would whistle; leaving the lights, and into the thistle...

Re: Spirit Mafia (In Play)
If I had to guess, I'd say random.org. Same way I was able to take out both you and glyphz the other night. This time, it just didn't go in my favor.
Anyway...

This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, protecting you, spying on someone else, killing someone else, killing themselves, etc... Note, however, that some players may be harder to overshadow than others. Additionally, there may be a failure rate when it comes to certain people attempting to kill others. A lowly human may have great trouble trying to kill a great spirit.
You are on your own this game, you have no allegiance but to yourself.
Have fun!
