I know what happened. It involves night one, actions, and Pizzaguy, just like every game.
Reputations, huh?
I think random.org might actually dislike you. :<
Swords and D20's 3 (twice on N1) Investigations
Seven Man Scrimmage V - Red Herring Mafia (N1) Death
Seven Man Scrimmage: C4 (N1) Death
Lord of the Rings @CFC (N1) Roleblock and Investigation
Noblesse (4 times on N1) Investigations and a roleblock
That Creeping Darkness (N1, N2) Planting false evidence of guilt. that's a new one at least
Blackadder Mafia (D1, actually) Lynch
Seven Man Scrimmage 1: C4 (N1) Murdered
Koopa Troop (converted N2, Killed N3?) Conversion N2, Vigilante'd N3
Omerta II (N1, which happened BEFORE D1, for extra giggles)
Downgradez: Teh Mini Mafia (N1) Investigation
Swords and D20's 2 (N1) Roleblocked
Zelda Mafia (N1) Either investigation or Roleblock, iirc
Hitman's Gambit (N1, before D1, for extra giggles) Investigated
Fillet Royale II (D1) Lynched
Council of Villains (D1) Lynch attempt. The game host made me lynch immune. I wonder why.
Swords in the Moon (D1) Lynch
The Mages Council- (N1, N2, N3...) Attacked every night of the game....
Night of the Werewolves XXVIII @CFC (N1) Scanned as having mafia victory conditions, iirc
Madness in Vault 42 @CFC (N1) Murdered
That's just off the top of my head. :idea2:
I've also been selected as mafia by other players twice, Inishmore and Prometheus.
Now that I think about it I am missing some games I died on N1... one of Taka's games. Also I was lynched on D1 in at least 2 others that escape me at the moment.
Yet you remain a glutton for punishment.
Victim of you own success perhaps...
for what its worth, except for the "Seven Man Scrimmage: C4 (N1) Death", i am not responsible for any of it...there too you had put a lot of pressure on my scum buddy Thermal and he wanted you offed :beam:
another point - when i first started playing (Swords in the moon was my first game and there was a gap before my second one), you were on a "Lynch Me" spree and offering your head up for lynch all the time and voting for yourself :book:
I'm skeptical. I don't consider my success rate to be at a level that warrants being lynch/murder/investigate/roleblock/framed on D1/N1 in roughly 50% of the games I've played to-date... and more recently, going for the record 7 games in a row. Here, I'm on another streak of 5 if I'm not mistaken.
Is it really that? :inquisitive: I'm curious.
Pizza, would you like some cheese with that wine? First 5 or 6 games i played I got ganked in N1 by mafia, I guess as a welcome present!
If only you knew how close I was to telling pizza to kill you last night Beskie, the pm was typed up and my pointer hovered over the send button...
I missed what was going on there.
Why did John have any reason to turn on Beskar in the first place?
Actually I went after you because you did an excellent job in previous Swords and D20's games, and I probably wouldn't have been able to out-knowledge you on the D20's lore. Also, we worked together in previous games well, and I was worried I'd get trapped in a lie if you tried to work with me again while I was still forging several role PMs. I had one where I was Gesundheit, the Archmage and one where I was Askandagar, the Conjurer, depending on the situation. Also I thought if you got an investigative role you'd check me out right away so that you might work with me again. Can't say if you would have or not, but it was something I was worried about.
End of Day 2:
The Men and women of the town argued fiercely for a time, but eventually they settled on their target. AVSM was the man everyone wanted to see dead.
The Commoner started sputtering, but strangely said not a word. People took his silence for confirmation of his guilt, which only increased when Alice popped out from the rabbit hole
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
whoops wrong Alice…….
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
She started Crying and pointed at AVSM, “He’s the man who killed my parents. You MUST believe me.”
Joooray looked moved by eh girl “Ok, I change my vote to AVSM!” Alice smiled and shook her head, happy as can be.
At the other end of the town square A orc was edging closer to Atpg. Once next to him he placed his hand lightly on the man elbow, and For a moment Atpg looked slack jawed.
“I change my own vote to Whiteyes. For the Glory of Gruumish.” The orc looked pleased, and walked away.
Atpg grinned when the orc walked away, red slits coming into his eyes. He hunted his target for a moment, and found him.
Gok was standing near the other orcs, looking bored and waiting patiently for the bloodshed to start. He took out his short sword and started running his callous finger down the blade, not really caring if he cut himself. When he heard the other orcs gasp however, he snapped to a fighting stance. Atpg had shed his mortal form, and charged forward towards the orcs, his eyes trained on Gok.
The orc let out a strangled cry and held his sword before him, and when Reenkis slammed into him the sword managed to skewer the demons abdomen. Gok Still landed heavily, Reenkis snarling and trying to bite the orc. Reenkis went into a frenzy, the sword in his stomach having stung him badly. Gok threw up his arms, trying to keep the slashing demon away from him. Reenkis Latched onto Gok’s arm with his jaw, biting down and causing the orc to scream in pain as his arm shattered. Reenkis Ripped his head viciously to the side, And Gok’s scream amplified to a level that many had never thought the orcs were capable of as his arm was torn off at the shoulder. Reenkis spit the arm to the side and lined up his clawed arm for a strike. The rest of the town looked in shock at the brutal and lightning fast assault, And deep in their ranks Gesundheit shocked himself to alertness, realizing his enemy had revealed himself.
Reenkis Punched down viciously at the Orc, snapping his neck and puncturing his windpipe. Gok died instantly.
Gok the Half Orc rogue has been Smote(Captain Blackadder)
Gesunheit raised his staff and strode forward, and chanted a short and brutal incantation. A bolt of force radiated outward, throwing the demon bodily back towards the squares edge. Reenkis laughed as he stood.
“Sooner than I expected my friend, but this fight has been in the making for years.” He reached down to the sword in his stomach, sliding it out with a wince and wheeze. Gesundheit did not respond, instead shouting another incantation and raising a dome of force in a 20ft circle around the two combatants, cutting them off from the rest of the town. The only one who had not managed to escape the circle was AVSM, who banged uselessly against the walls of the dome.
Only once this spell was done did Gesunheit turn his attention to Reenkis “ You should have lived with the boredom Reenkis, because you made me just as powerful as yourself. Your own idiocy will be your undoing. May you crawl back to whatever layer of the abyss you slithered out of!” His staff rammed into the ground, and he threw up a shield of energy around himself, this one to blunt any attack reenkis might throw at him.
Reenkis laughed, and threw himself into his own spell. The Demon flung a huge ball of flame at the arch mage, But it slid off Gesundheits shield. Reenkis looked irked, but readied another spell.
Gesundheit laughed as the second fireball was blunted and dispersed by his shield. “You never learned Reenkis, Not even after all this time have you changed. My master told you long ago to never use a spell which can be blocked by a simply Resist energy spell!” Gesunheit waved his hand and sent a small bead of force towards the demon, which expanded and blasted through the area. The Demon Exploded, small bits of gore flying everywhere.
Gesundheit smiled, Extremely glad he had chosen shape spell. If he had not his Forceball would have no doubt hit himself as well!
AVSM shuffled towards Gesunheit, relieved. The mage waved to him, “come my friend, no reason to lynch you now.” He started ending the wall of force surrounding the area. AVSM muttered something, To which Gesunheit cocked his head
“what was that?”
“I said, I would never be foolish enough to die by the same spell twice. Foolish mage.” Gesunheit’s eyes widened, and Reenkis dropped AVSM’s form his arm shooting across to strike the mage. Gesundheit frantically moved his Staff into place to block the hit, the ash wood shattering and cackling with lost energy. He threw himself to the side, trying to put distance between himself and the demon. Reenkis kept close, laughing.
“Some things have changed from then to know mage. Before I was not able to crush your masters skull with my bare hand!” He grasped Gesundheits Wrist, snapping it and causing him to howl “Sometimes raw strength can beat finesse.”
A very Common person had been Lynched (A very super market)
Gesunheit watched the blood flow from his wrist, the bone jutting through his skin. His eyes teared up, but he smiled grimly. “More than just finesse in magic. There is also Sacrifice. Blood has power, always has always will.” He chanted, and the blood flowing from his wrist glowed and started heating up. Reenkis raised a chitinous eyebrow and then cursed in understanding. “Banishment? BANISHMENT!” He raised a arm and punched out, but Gesundheit finished his incantation, and the demon became insubstantial, Howling as he was banished from the material plane.
Gesundheit grinned and dropped the shield down. Steve hustled forward to help him
“One down.” Gesundheit said.

Apologies for wasting your day phase/
Oh ATPG why did you simte me?
He thought you was Gesundheit, Capt. Blackadder.
I was successfully led to believe that was so, yes.
Nothing personal, I thought there was a good chance Gesundheit was you.
Cool now with the demon out of the way the elves will dominate!

I am extending the round for 24 hours. The game may be over, but I still want to see how things play out.... There are a few people who can still send in night actions.
Where did I go wrong?
Not including Drizzt.
Random.org placed Pizza as Reenkis, and you didn't re-randomise? :P
Wait... that's the problem.
You should have used a D20 - the TRUE god of gaming.
This.
Plus if that happens then what? Pizza is always a townie? every time his name comes up as mafia we re roll it and give him a regular role. If you plan on doing that then you pretty much make him innocent 100% of the time. Which would also be unfair.
(also AA, I actually DO use a D20 :beam: Just re roll if it lands on 18-20 or on a person already chosen.)
That is true, but in a game this small? Besides, Pizza has been requesting town roles of late, hasn't he? Surely then, it's not fair to give him said roles if he's just going to be killed so quickly. :3
It seems that Gesundheit immediately investigated Pizza in Night One, discovered him to Reenkis, and then used his Smite ability during Day Two to remove him from the game entirely and essentially neuter the mafia and call the game to an early end. I'd argue that Pizza didn't really get to do anything as Reenkis as a result. :3
I'm not saying that it should happen all the time... it's just that CDf asked "what went wrong?", and I gave an honest opinion. Ignore me, I'm just one of those on the "don't remove people like Pizza or Sasaki from games early" people. :3
I totally understand where you were coming from, I just think it would be awfully harsh on Atpg or Sasaki to lose a good role they gained fairly because they are so good at these games. I do think it is a debate we need to have though, they both get targeted excessively in games and it must be very frustrating.
I certainly don't mind being given a mafia role. And, I certainly don't mind being investigated round one. The only thing I particularly mind is long streaks of being stalked on the first day/night without relent. That's all... no big whoop. And because Methos did it, and it was only the second consecutive, concurrent game he did it in, it's no biggie either. Together with all the others, okay, it gets tiresome sometimes but what are you going to do? You guys think Sasaki Kojiro (or TinCow, or Sigurd, fill in the blanks) is an excellent mafioso, right? What if he was investigated/blocked/lynched round one of every game? You'd never be able to match wits with him ever again. And then what happens is he'd always be either dead mafia or live innocent townie, to be killed by the mafia around night 2 or so, and never survive past the first few rounds of any game. How can anyone continue to be an excellent, entertaining player under those circumstances? Moreover, how fair is it for that player who wishes to enjoy a game to constantly be the main target of the crowd?
Thank goodness for protector roles or I would have died very early on in the Lord of the Rings game were I was blocked/investigated round one. What a waste of those actions, if I were to then also promptly die the next night thereafter. Focusing all your energies on one player also removes the likelihood of you catching mafia on round one of the 80-90% of games where that player is not mafia. It also saps much of the fun out of the game where if you do it every game, eventually you will be right! But then the game is basically over. Wheee?
I'm not pointing any of this out to be a complainy-pants, I apologize if it comes off that way. All I am saying is, if it will happen for streaks of 7 and 5 games at a time, and add up to roughly 50% of all games, I might not bother forging a role PM when I become a mafioso... I might not bother creating a plan of action. I might not even bother voting. And then you haven't defeated me, you've defeated random.org who has chosen me to be proven guilty immediately and die instantly thereafter.
What does it say when the game host knows, before the game even started, that I'd be investigated round one, and told me so? And told me that the game would probably be over? What does it say that two investigators targeted me this game, and 3 did in a rather recent game, and several did in the lord of the rings game? Is it the same as saying I can't be defeated without having 100% proof of my guilt? Just lynch me round one and don't waste your powers, then. Wouldn't it be quicker? I hope it doesn't say that, because I would get a terribly massive ego in such a case.
You wouldn't want that, now wouldja? :eyebrows:
By all means investigate me round one, lynch me day one. Just.... try to make it a little bit more random that you'll do that, eh?
Hey Pizza, you use deductive reasoning right?
Uhm anyway, guys stop picking on Pizza N1 every game, it's impossible for him to play. I always give him the BFD till at the least N2 so he doesn't just stop playing mid game one day, and I know someone else is already investigating him, but that's not the point. It's just really tiring to hear him complaining so much.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I was happy to get a mafia role. I was also going to give you guys my best. I had two forged role PMs and a false quicktopic, and I was acting as creatively and aggressively as I could. I don't mind that random.org chooses me every so often, and when I do, what I am thinking isn't "how shall I win?", well ok I do, but I do think to myself, how can I be the most challenging opponent I can be, so these guys have a difficult and interesting game?
I don't want special treatment, really. I suppose requesting townie roles of late is an overreaction, and we should have had this conversation when I was getting tired of it 5 games ago.
All I ask is that the investigation, lynch, or block of Pizzaman on round one is given an appropriately random amount of instances. Two games in a row is fine. Several times in one game is fine. Not knowing that it happens to me a lot, and doing it (Methos) is fine. But some folks *(not naming names) know very well it's been happening to me a lot lately and suggested it anyway. That means it's not random, and it's playing me out of the game, not playing the game.
I don't mean to be harsh towards game hosts or anything like that... I just hate to see people who play the game so very, very well removed from matters so soon. When the Pizzas and the Sasakis of the Gameroom are removed, it feels as though... well it feels like games lose that je ne c'est quoi.
I guess my argument won't hold much water because I'm a newcomer, I've missed out on alot of games and such... but from the games I've played thus far at the .Org, I keep seeing these great players killed so quickly and it removes that sense of "I really need to watch what I say around that person" which I love.
I love the sense of danger and weariness I get around these players, the feeling that I don't know whether or not I can trust them. I love the entertainment factor of them, the sheer amounts of logic, bovine excrement and everything in-between that they throw behind every vote, every argument, every move.
And at the end of it, I would like to seem them flex their respective brain muscles a little bit longer than being a Night One kill. That's all.
PMT rant over... sorry if I ruffled any feathers. :<
Yeah even though Pizza killed me in SnD20's 2, I still had fun when i thought I was outwitting him anyway
And Pizza... regarding my investigation of you on Night Zero of Noblesse Oblige (my first game at the Org)... I actually alphabetised all names and then chose you and Andres.
There wasn't any real logic or metagaming behind that, it could just have easily been A Very Super Market or Beefy187. I just went with the first two names. :3
Hey, if you do select me randomly, then your conscience is clean. What about the other 2 mafia who did the same thing, and being roleblocked to boot? Was it my lucky day?
I should play the Florida lottery with my luck. I'd be a winner several times on every ticket!! :laugh4:
And if you don't you can always blitz them :tongue2:
Sometimes they decide to investigate me night one, instead of night two after you, then investigate you the 2nd night.
Remind me to change my name to Zenturion1.Quote:

I always investigate lurkers first cause they are less likely to make a mistake in thread. Seeing as they never post in thread. I only investigated Pizza in Noblesse because it was a last minute thing and I was sure he was playing (meaning, i didnt want to check the list for who was signed up :shame:)
He will using a web-translator and say it in pig-latin too along with "I tried to kill you last night".
I take Latin and have for 8 years. I never ever tried to say I was very good at speaking to it. I don't really even understand the concept of pig latin, said in reverse yes?Quote:

wait is this game over?
no, starting to write......
Having a very bad day. Can't really focus.
I am really sorry my life seems to continually get in the way of my games. Still not particularly good at hosting, so bear with me.
Besides...... As everyone has said repeatedly the game is mostly over. I am simply continuing to both allow a come from behind victory, Petty vengeance, and I still don't have a clear victor for the Orcs and Elfs.
Victory by lynch? I'm not sure that's possible, unless they guessed wrong on who we are.
Gesundheit planned to convert one of the mafia to a town/neutral role, thus the other could be lynched during the day and the game be over. Not sure how successful the convert would be though.
Either way, I will not be getting a perfect victory, since my victory conditions are basically impossible. The idea being, I have to successfully protect Gesundheit twice, but Gesundheit would never been attacked twice, since if you failed to kill Gesundheit during the night, you would just day-kill Gesundheit anyway.
Naughty Beskie likes to publicly announce town movements. :whip:
There are others besides the Demon that can kill, although they aren't mafia. (this is in the public writeups already)
Ain't I a stinker?
End of Night 2:
The Imp snickered as he flew around the inn’s main hall, A very disgruntled Gesundheit waving his staff and cursing as the imp stayed far out of his grasp.
“Come back here you little Cretin! I am trying to save you!” The mage yelled, trying to bring the small demon down with his (new) unenchanted staff. “Don’t make me tear you to pieces with magic!”
The Imp laughed and turned invisible, his tail swirling up and the point dripping with toxins. Gesundheit sighed and muttered a quick spell, and his eyes were flooded with a white light, allowing him to pierce any magic. He spotted the Imp flying above and then raised a finger “HAH! Got you!” He let go a wave of magical force, with the purpose of breaking the imps control over his own body. The Imp seized up and fell to the ground, unable to move.
“Now, lets have a look under the hood!” Gesundheit said and moved in, placing his hand on the imps small forehead. The imps eyes locked onto his own, and his mouth crept up into a smile, before its stinger punched into Gesundheits outstretched hand. Gesunheit sighed “Good bluff check. What was it a Natural 20 on your will save? Automatically broke my hold Person spell?”
The imp nodded, smiling still “yep. Well, I got to go tell Lilith I have you out of commission for the night. You are tough, but my poison is still going to put you to sleep. As well as give you a huge headache.” Gesundheit shuddered and fell unconscious. The imp flew hurriedly to tell Lilith about the nights development.
Gesundheit has been roleblocked!
Steve hurried forward, trying to find gesundheit once again. Honestly, if he is going to run off every 2 minutes how am I supposed to protect him? Steve thought. Steve finally reached the taverns main hall and found the mage flopped down on the floor, asleep.
“that can’t be good.” Steve rushed to the mage and checked his vitals, and when he was satisfied the mage was alive started casting a spell to awaken him. Lilith slipped into the hall, dropping her old disguises. She smiled and pulled a shortsword from behind her back, looking at the blade with disdain.
http://th06.deviantart.com/fs8/300W/...us_by_olei.jpg
“You know, if I was not in a hurry I could just kiss you to death. But I guess I have to get all medieval on your :daisy:”
Steve whirled from the mage to look at the Succubus who was now right behind him. His jaw dropped in surprise, but he got over the sight of the Succubus quickly, being a cleric and all.
“Foul demon! Your vile temptation have no hold on me! I shall smite you and rid your taint from this town!” Steve lifted his holy symbol and spoke a quick spell, a flash of holy light pushing Lilith away.
Lilith snarled, he teeth sharpening and elongating in rage, her features sharpening and filling with hate. “baby, you better just lay down and die now, cause you are starting to really tick me off.” She lunged into the light and started smoking slightly, but still managed to punch a wound into Steve’s right side. The cleric howled and took a mace from his side, bashing the sword away from him before it cut too deep.
Steve held his holy symbol aloft once more, belting more words and causing the light to intensify. Lilith Screamed as her face became less beautiful and more and more demonic, her womanly features bubbling and falling off, leaving behind simply a hungry maw and dark beady eyes.
She lunged once again, wobbling slightly. Steve parried the thrust this time, and smiled as the demon collapsed in pain, murmuring slightly some words. He walked over, mace held up for a last strike.
Lilith smirked dangerously. “Illusion Stupid.” The fallen demon melted away, and Steve cursed as the real Lilith Stabbed his back with the shortsword.
Steve collapsed, the sword punching out through his chest. Lilith smiled at him one last time, her face still as hideous as before. “Go meet your god you foolish wretch.”

Why, Steve? WHY!?
Because he thought he had the game solved.
Such thoughts are dangerous when they aren't true....
Eh, I'm dead, so it doesn't really matter to me.
Hmph.
While I think Beskie had it coming for boasting about the game being wrapped up, I'm calling major shenanigans on this and I'm massively unimpressed.
I did have the game solved, killing me did nothing, people know who the mafia are thus one gets lynched, while the other gets killed tonight or tomorrow. Eitherway, you cannot get through to Gesundheit.
Killing me was the bad move, it accomplished nothing, especially as I don't need to survive.
Also, protecting two people is near impossible, CDF.
Beskar's claims regarding the identity of the two demons were both correct; he had ascertained the races of all those remaining in game, simply not their abilities. Unfortunately for him, he got a little boastful and ended up eating cold steel. We can work around that.
Last night, Gesundheit attempted to convert White_Eyes:D, who we had uncovered as the imp via Beskar's snooping around. This attempt failed, as you can tell from the write-up; I have no idea how they ascertained Gesundheit's identity, and I'm not going to go into my beliefs as to how I think they did, but needless to say, the action failed. White_Eyes:D is the first mafia we are looking for.
Also last night, myself and the rest of the pro-town I have contacted established that the second mafia was one of two people; atheotes or Khazaar, though we were leaning strongly towards the latter. I chose to investigate Khazaar last night, and after waiting outside his room for a prolonged period of time, I saw a female demon return to his room, her visage burned and barely recognisable; I had found another demon. Khazaar is the second mafia we are looking for.
Based upon the fact that White_Eyes:D was simply role-blocking last night, he is arguably the lesser of the two evils compared to the succubus who killed Steve (a protector role, I hasten to add). During the next night phase, we can role-block White_Eyes and lynch him the following day. Considering we have seen him kill this evening, Khazaar has to be considered the greater threat, and as such, must be lynched.
Therefore, I vote: Khazaar.
Whitey and Khazaar may be the mafiosos you're looking for... but are they the droids you're looking for?
Vote: Khazaar
Secura is right.
If the Mafia was smart, they would have roleblocked me and killed Gesundheit. Foolish mistake.
Oh and Vote:Methos pretty clear who this lurker is....:brood:
