I thought Pizza dropped it when he realized the duels lasted until all of one trainer's pokemon fainted.
So when you guys say you're going after the "mafia", what exactly do you mean? I was under the impression that everyone here had the same goal: to win the tournament. So even if one or more people are capable of attacking others at night, they're still putting themselves at risk of being eliminated outside of sanctioned matches. So is there really any reason to worry about uncovering their identity?
Tally:
Saregona - 3 (ATPG, Blackadder, Zack)
Captain Blackadder - 3 (Double A, Chimpyang, Seon)
Seon - 2 (Jolt, khaan)
Yaseikhaan - 1 (Secura)
The duel is between Saregona and Captain Blackadder.
Activity was kind of slow today...
Yaseikhaan is my love bunny. Nobody touches him in that way but me.
Day 5
When the trainers had finished voting, the announcer piped up again, right on cue.
“Greetings, competitors. You have chosen as the participants for today’s battle: Red, the undefeated Champion of the Kanto Region, and Steven, the former Champion of the Hoenn Region! Both trainers are known for being incredible Pokemon masters, so this is sure to be a heated battle! Red should proceed to the red corner and Steven to the blue corner.”
As usual, Red never said a word during his matches – or ever, as it was presumed by many. Having only one Pokemon left, his choice was simple, and he impatiently tossed the ball up and down in his hand. Steven was a little more friendly, and tried in vain to make small talk before the match.
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...tion/Red-1.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...ion/Steven.png
“I’ve been looking forward to battling you for a long time, Red. I’ve heard about your exploits.”
“…”
“It’s been a pretty long time since I’ve had a truly challenging battle. I only wish your Pokemon were still at full strength, so that this would be a true test of our skills.”
“…”
“I know you don’t say much. That’s cool. Let’s just get this started, then. Good luck to you!”
“Will Red keep up his winning streak? Or has his strength been sapped enough for Steven to take the victory? Let the battle begin!”
“…”
“Alright then! Go, Aggron!”
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...3Snorlax-1.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/.../306Aggron.png
Red’s Snorlax looked just as huge and intimidating as it had the day before, but this time it appeared it would have a worthy match-up. On the other side of the arena stood what looked like a giant, living suit of armor. Aggron’s thick hide was covered in both rock and steel, and as powerful as it was Snorlax would have trouble penetrating it.
“Aggron, use Head Smash!”
Without waiting a moment longer, Aggron began charging forward with its head lowered. Its vicious-looking steel horns were pointed directly at Snorlax. Snorlax, believing it could withstand the blow, stood in place waiting. But when Aggron struck, the surprised Snorlax was knocked off its feet and landed with a heavy thud on the ground. It got back up and roared angrily.
“Didn’t expect that, did you?”
Snorlax reared back, then charged forward itself in a full-body tackle. The Giga Impact was only enough to push Aggron back a few feet, though. In fact, with its heavy metal coating, Aggron probably weighed more than even Red’s Snorlax.
“That’s what I love about Steel types! They’re so durable. Go after it again, Aggron!”
Aggron lowered its head and was about to start another charge, when suddenly Snorlax slammed its heavy feet against the ground, causing it to shake violently. Aggron toppled over and struggled to get back up quickly. By the time it rose to its feet, Snorlax was rushing forward with an Ice Punch attack.
“Protect yourself, Aggron!”
Aggron blocked Snorlax’s attack with its arms, and the Ice Punch bounced harmlessly off its metal coat.
“Clever move, Red, but two can play at that game! Aggron, create your own Earthquake!”
Aggron stamped its feet, creating another tremor which this time threw Snorlax off-balance.
“Now use Head Smash!”
As Aggron approached Snorlax with its deadly horns, Snorlax waited until the last minute and then grabbed Aggron’s face with both paws. Using all of its strength, Snorlax hurled Aggron backwards over its shoulder in a surprising Counter-attack. Aggron landed hard on its back, but its heavy armor prevented it from taking too much damage from the landing. It was tiring out, though, as it moved more slowly.
“That does it. Use Brick Break, Aggron!”
Aggron delivered a shattering punch straight into Snorlax’s massive gut. Although usually attacks tended to just bounce off of Snorlax’s belly, this time the huge Pokemon doubled over in pain, unable to respond.
“Earthquake!”
Aggron shook the ground, knocking Snorlax further off-balance.
“Now finish it with Head Smash!”
This time, Snorlax was unable to counter the attack, and it took the full brunt of Aggron’s iron horns. Snorlax was thrown to the floor and was unable to get back up. Eventually, getting frustrated and wearied, it just fell back asleep.
“Snorlax is unable to battle. Aggron is the winner! This means that the legendary Red has been defeated and eliminated, while Steven is victorious!”
“Thanks, Red. It was a good match. We should do this again sometime, preferably under less dangerous circumstances. Maybe I’ll visit you on Mt. Silver, or you could come to Meteor Falls in Hoenn.”
“…”
Red stared straight into Steven’s eyes, with a look that only Steven could understand. Then he turned around and left the arena, disappearing into Cerulean Cave. The rest of the trainers slowly followed after him.

Begin Night 5
If I have all night orders, I think I can get away with ending it at 10:00 PM tomorrow. Otherwise, it'll be 12:30 AM.
"..."
That's what I was talking about. No Mightyena.
It's a bad sign when you're paying more attention to the game than I am.
Who are you, Double A? Normally it troubles you to even vote. Now, you were right that Saregona wasn't who we were looking for because he lacked a Mightyena, but I have to be right that Seon isn't who we're looking for because he's down to his last one pokemon, so he can't be the person attacking us at night.
I brain farted because I didn't count up Saregona's mons, but you were on top of this the whole time and yet you're not backing up my reasons that Seon isn't a good target.
You're uncharacteristically keenly aware of what's going on, and it alarms me. You shoot down a bunch of my theories that you somehow know are wrong, but won't back me up when I accidentally say something that's correct. That tells me two things:
1. You know more than you're letting on
2. You don't really want to help
= Guilty Double A.
Pizza, if there's anything I know in life, it's Pokemon. I have played anywhere between 800 and 1000 hours of Pokemon, across the GB, GBA, DS, and even GC. I have played 12 Pokemon games, which includes Coliseum and XD for the GameCube. I truly have NO idea what's going on in this game, but I understand the battle mechanics perfectly.
I think tomorrow's the time we let my sweet pizzaman unwrap me. We need to get some sunshine out there in the spotlight to keep our natural beauty, neh?
I learned from the best.
I am Blue, of "Smell ya later!" fame. I didn't want to reveal that as I fear I would have become a target for the bad guys, whoever they may be.
Also, I found my Platinum and HeartGold in my backpack today! MWAHAHA, THE POKERUS IS MINE ONCE AGAIN!
Round over, still working on the write-up.
Night 5
As night fell again in the Cerulean Cave, the remaining competing trainers took up defensive positions, whether they were deeper inside the cave or near the arena rooms. The walls of the cavern would shake with the rumbling of Pokemon battles later that night.
Ruby was, once again, on the small island he had claimed for himself in the middle of the underground lake.
He was just lounging around, getting himself a nice rest before inevitably the mysterious trainer would stop by with new Pokemon for his Tentacruel to defeat. Sure enough, right on cue a shadowy figure appeared, and shouted across the lake at Ruby.
“YOU! Prepare yourself!”
“Back again? Tentacruel, let’s go!”
“Your overconfidence will be your downfall. This time, your fate is sealed! Go, Alakazam!”
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...Alakazam-1.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...Tentacruel.png
Alakazam stood at the lake’s edge, while Tentacruel floated in the waters some ten yards away. The two Pokemon stared at each other briefly before their trainers barked orders.
“Ice Beam!”
“Psychic attack!”
Tentacruel attempted to fire an Ice Beam, but it was quickly brought to a halt when Alakazam lifted up its spoons, glowing with Psychic power. Using telekinesis, Alakazam immobilized Tentacruel and lifted it out of the water. Then, with great force and precision, it hurled Tentacruel at a spike on the wall to the side. Tentacruel struck the spike and then fell to the solid ground below.
“BAHAHAHAHA! Now that I’ve got your Tentacruel out of the water, this will be child’s play!”
There was truth in the mysterious trainer’s words. Tentacruel tried to mount a defense, but on dry land it was only able to flounder about on its tentacles. It couldn’t move quickly enough to get to the water’s edge in time.
“Alakazam, use Shock Wave!”
Alakazam opened up a conduit of electricity from its spoons, and shot the thunderbolt straight at Tentacruel. Unable to dodge the attack, Tentacruel was struck head on and electrocuted viciously.
“No! Tentacruel!”
“Now, finish it off! Psychic!”
Alakazam lifted Tentacruel again, and proceeded to smash it up and down between the floor and the ceiling of the cave. When Alakazam was finished, Tentacruel had been knocked unconscious.
Ruby returned Tentacruel, and looked unsure of himself. Tentacruel had beaten five opponents before, but after this one loss, he would be forced to rely on only Manectric to protect him. Ruby threw the Pokeball over to the mysterious trainer’s side.
“Go, Manectric! Use Thunder Wave!”
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...Alakazam-1.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...0Manectric.png
As soon as it landed, Manectric unleashed an electromagnetic pulse that blasted Alakazam. Although Alakazam was not physically harmed by the electricity, it was paralyzed and its movements slowed.
“Discharge!”
“Match it with Shock Wave!”
Manectric and Alakazam both launched powerful electric attacks, but Manectric’s capacity for the creation of electricity was much greater than Alakazam’s. Manectric’s current canceled out Alakazam’s and still had enough strength left over to blast the Psychic Pokemon off its feet.
“I’ve had enough of this… use Hypnosis!”
Alakazam began staring into Manectric’s eyes and emitting Psychic waves into its brain. Manectric was immobilized, unable to look away, and it soon fell into a deep sleep as Ruby could only watch in frustration.
“Now use Dream Eater!”
Alakazam began draining the life energy from Manectric as it slept, and using it to heal the damage it had taken to its own frail body. In less than a minute, Manectric was completely drained of energy, and it did not wake back up.
“No! Manectric!”
Ruby returned his Pokemon, threw a Smoke Ball, and dove into the water. When the smoke cleared, the frustrated trainer could not find him anywhere nearby.
--------------------------------------------
Steven had found himself a wide-open space deep in the cave, which was glittering with glowing gemstones.
Among the more conventional jewels, Steven was sure he would find several evolution-inducing stones down here, such as a Moon Stone or a Water Stone. But more importantly, this deep into the ground Steven was certain to find fossils of ancient Pokemon. Both of these prospects interested the curious trainer deeply, and he was rather annoyed when an uninvited visitor dropped in to battle.
“Steven. Any last words before I destroy you?”
“You haven’t even battled me yet, and I’m at full strength! Go, Aggron!”
“Excellent. Just the move I was hoping for. Go, Machamp!”
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...068Machamp.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/.../306Aggron.png
Normally, Aggron’s thick hide of rock and steel was a huge asset, but it would severely impair it in this battle, and Steven quickly realized the mistake he made in sending out his Pokemon first. Machamp would have greater mobility, and besides that fact its four powerful arms were principally trained by smashing rocks and tearing apart iron.
“Machamp, use Earthquake!”
Slamming the ground with its powerful arms, Machamp created tremors in the ground. Several gemstones came dislodged from the walls and ceiling and fell to the ground.
“Aggron, Protect yourself!”
Aggron held up its guard and concentrated on standing its ground. It was totally unaffected by Machamp’s attack.
“Get in there and use Low Kick!”
While Aggron was withstanding the tremors, Machamp rushed forward and swept low with its foot, succeeding in tripping Aggron the manual way. The heavy Pokemon fell flat on its face and struggled to get back up.
“Cross Chop!”
Using its four arms, Machamp deliver four devastating karate chops to Aggron’s body, inflicting massive damage. The force of the blows was such that Aggron was barely able to stand.
“Now finish it with Seismic Toss!”
In an incredible display of strength, Machamp lifted Aggron and hurled it straight at Steven. Luckily, the master trainer ducked, but Aggron kept on flying into the wall, which it struck with a thud. Aggron did not regain consciousness.
“Well… you succeeded in tricking me there, but I hope you’ve got a good strategy for the rest, because it won’t be nearly that easy to defeat me! Go, Metagross!”
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...068Machamp.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...6Metagross.png
Metagross made a deep, metallic screeching sound, and then began approaching Machamp slowly.
“Cross Chop!”
Machamp rushed forward and tried to hit Metagross with the same tactic it used against Aggron, but it was stopped abruptly mid-charge. Metagross’s eyes glowed menacingly, and it lifted Machamp off the ground with Psychic power. Then Metagross proceeded to fling Machamp around the room like a rag doll, smashing it into the walls and ceiling, which were interspersed with sharp gemstones poking out. When Metagross finally released Machamp, it was in no shape to be battling.
The mysterious trainer grumbled and sent out another Pokemon.
“Go, Typhlosion!”
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...phlosion-1.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...6Metagross.png
The flame vents around Typhlosion’s neck flared up dangerously as it prepared itself to fight. Metagross remained stoic in its disposition.
“Use Flame Wheel!”
Typhlosion got a running start, then rolled up into a ball. It spun quickly enough that when it flared up its flame vents, the fire spread to cover its entire body. As Typhlosion picked up speed, it began zipping around the battlefield as a literal wheel of flame. Metagross, unable to turn around quickly enough to anticipate its attack, was struck directly in the back. It was hurt, but it knocked Typhlosion away with a Psychic pulse.
“Hit it with Meteor Mash!”
Metagross levitated itself into the air stretched out its legs, and then began spinning around. Its four taloned legs spun like a series of deadly fan blades. Metagross had a wide enough leg-span that Typhlosion was not able to easily leap around it, and it was struck by the attack.
“Now, Hammer Arm!”
Immediately, Metagross stopped spinning, and instead proceeded to batter Typhlosion with a heavy steel leg. Typhlosion was knocked to the ground and got up slowly.
“Metagross, finish it with Hyper Beam!”
“Dodge it!”
Just in time, Typhlosion leapt out of the way to dodge the powerful blast of energy that Metagross released. Typhlosion had a few free seconds to attack while Metagross regained its strength.
“Overheat, now!”
Typhlosion got up close to Metagross, and then began burning intensely. The air around the two Pokemon heated up dramatically, until it was hot enough that Metagross’s steel body could start to melt. The metal Pokemon roared in pain. When Typhlosion couldn’t hold up the heat blast any longer, Metagross fell to the ground, unable to fight.
“No way! How could you beat Metagross?”
Steven was worried now. Metagross was the one he always turned to when the situation became dire.
“Fine then. Go, Cradily!”
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...phlosion-1.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...346Cradily.png
“Do you really expect this one to even be a challenge?”
“Cradily, use Rock Slide!”
Cradily caused a stream of rocks and gemstones to fall from the ceiling. Typhlosion spun into a Flame Wheel and dodged around all of the stones before smashing into Cradily.
“Let’s finish this. Use Flare Blitz!”
Typhlosion coated itself in flame and then charged full-force into Cradily, engulfing it in an inferno. Cradily fell to the ground, scorched and knocked unconscious.
The mysterious trainer looked around for Steven, but he had seemingly disappeared. He was about to leave, frustrated, when a beam shot from Steven’s Pokeball near the single entrance to the gem cavern, returning Cradily to him. Before the trainer could give chase, Steven bolted and faded out of sight.
---------------------------------------------------
Lance was sitting outside the arena dormitories.
He intended to serve as protector to any who stayed there during the night, but in truth he probably derived just as much safety from the other trainers as they did from him. Perhaps, with the mindset of a Champion, he felt it his responsibility. He certainly felt it his responsibility when he heard roaring from the arena.
“Go, Charizard!”
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...Garchomp-1.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...6Charizard.png
Lance couldn’t see very well in the unlit arena, but there was no mistaking that roar. Lance looked at his opponent’s Pokemon, only to see:
“Garchomp?”
Garchomp raged, and began dueling with Charizard, the two dragons exchanging blows.
“It couldn’t be…”
Lance shrugged whatever doubts he had in his mind away and focused back on the battle. Garchomp was larger than Charizard and had greater reach, but Charizard had the advantage of speedy flight.
“Use Flamethrower!”
Charizard fired a long jet of flame from its mouth, which struck Garchomp all over its body as Charizard circled around it in the air. The attack did not look as if it damaged Garchomp terribly, but it left burn marks all over the dragon’s skin.
“Strike with Outrage!”
Garchomp began firing powerful energy beams at Charizard, but it was fast enough to see them coming and dodge them with swift aerial dives and swerves. After the fifth or so beam, Garchomp was starting to become tired and disoriented.
“Now’s your chance! Use Dragon Claw!”
Swooping by with great precision, Charizard stretched out both of its claws and slashed them along Garchomp’s side, scoring deep cuts. This, combined with Garchomp’s burns and fatigue, caused it to collapse to the ground.
“No matter. I have more. Go, Gallade!”
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...5Gallade-1.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...6Charizard.png
Gallade struck a fighting pose, but Charizard was already way ahead of it and soaring through the air. It fired bursts of flame from its mouth, hoping to burn Gallade as it had with Garchomp.
“Detect!”
Gallade was able to use its Psychic powers to easily predict, detect, and sidestep all of Charizard’s attacks. It continued to hold a defensive stance.
“Use Air Slash!”
Charizard whipped up an air current that ripped away at Gallade’s defenses, knocking it to the ground. Charizard flew in close for a melee attack.
“Catch it with a Charge Beam!”
Leaping to its feet, Gallade fired a beam of electrons that struck Charizard straight in the chest. The electric attack caught Charizard off-guard, and it plummeted out of the sky, sliding roughly into the ground.
“Psycho Cut!”
Using its arm blades, Gallade slashed at the air and fired blade-shaped Psychic blasts at Charizard which hurt it even more as it tried to get up and fight back.
“Finish it! Close Combat!”
Now Gallade rushed forward and actually began slashing Charizard with its blades. After only a few hits more, Charizard was in no shape to battle, and it fell to the ground, fainted.
Lance looked disappointed, but not worried.
“Return, Charizard. Go, Sceptile!"
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...5Gallade-1.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...54Sceptile.png
Sceptile and Gallade faced off, each practically beckoning the other to come by for a duel.
“Psycho Cut!”
“Leaf Blade!”
The two Pokemon locked blades. Each Pokemon began swiping, slashing, and dodging attacks, but neither was able to score a direct hit on the other.
“Go faster! Use your Agility!”
With enhanced speed, though, Sceptile could easily handle Gallade. It managed to slash the Pokemon about seven times before Gallade could escape to a safer part of the arena.
“Gallade, you have to hit it hard!”
“Leaf Storm, Sceptile!”
Sceptile reared back, and launched a veritable storm of razor-sharp leaves at Gallade, making it impossible for it to dodge them all. Gallade was caught by the force of the blow, and knocked several yards backwards. Gallade tried to get back to its feet, but fell midway and then fainted.
The hidden trainer cursed the luck that was given, and sped out of the room as quickly as possible. Something was still bothering Lance after the battle.
"That Garchomp... it couldn't have been... could it?"
----------------------------------------------------------
The next morning, the trainers returned as usual- minus two. The announcer spoke, in an almost apologetic voice.
“Greetings, trainers. It is unfortunate, but Ruby and Steven have no usable Pokemon left, and must be eliminated from the competition. Let the voting begin!”

Begin Day 6
Gonna make it like 36 hours to get us back on track. It ends 12:30 PM Saturday.
Anyone here have time to organize the information contained in the writeups so far into an easy-to-digest blurb?
If we are to vote intelligently today at all, that would be a valuable first step. I am extremely busy and I cannot do it. Any takers?
Find two people who have yet to battle, make them fight, we need to see their pokemon line ups. The mafia are exposing more and more of their own lineups, and it's about finding the right pokemon.
Vote: Yaseikhaan
I'll show you mine if you show me yours.
Hmmm...
vote: Pizza
Sorry, but it is becoming ridiculous that Seon is surviving this long.
Vote: Seon
Vote: Yaseikhaan
Let's see what pokemon you have.
Vote: Askthepizzaguy
You'd best stop stealing my other pokemon. Using my spare garchomp to attack me wasn't nice, not at all.
2 things:
I haven't stolen any pokemon or used any pokemon for anything so far all game. When I duel you, Yaseikhaan, you'll see fresh faces. If I lose my 3 pokemon, I will have no others to use, and I will be out of the game.
Also, why is Seon your big suspect, Jolt, if we know he's only got one pokemon left and everyone has been attacked by multiple pokemon? That means you know he's not responsible but want him eliminated anyway.
Why?
"..."
Why am I even hesitating on this.
Unvote
Seems Khaan has claimed to be the person who got attacked by, apparently, his own pokemon, and the attacker fled. So, I'm not sure why I would want to vote for him here, I'd rather vote for Khaan's attacker.
Meanwhile, Jolt is obsessed with destroying Seon when it's clear Seon cannot be responsible for these attacks.
Unless...
Seon could be responsible for the attacks if he's been using other people's pokemon somehow, as seeming to be indicated by certain writeups. That way he survives a duel with one pokemon and then never uses it again, but somehow commands other people's pokemon against them.
Hmmm. Hmm hmm hmm.
I'm not feeling the Khaan duel. We've already seen his pokemon in battle, mine have not. I'd be willing to battle a suspect, and I'd like some thoughts on the whole number of pokemon we carry versus number of pokemon used in attacks at night, let's discuss that.
HE LOST AND SURVIVED A DUEL GODDAMNIT.
We have 10 eliminated people so far and not one except Seon has actually lost a battle and continues in the game.
Are you telling me that is not strange? Are you telling me that because in the write-up his own character says that he has one Pokemon (e.g. It is not an impartial narrator which confirms this fact), he should get a pass to the last round of the game because he "Only has one Pokemon"?
Robbiecon had a unique ability to revive fallen pokemons. Was he guilty because we haven't found anyone who could do that?
Your logic does not make sense.
Kill Seon or whatever, just so we can all move on. Just make sure he fights someone we havn't seen yet.
Actually it makes more sense the more we hear from you.
Reviving other's pokemon's is a unique ability which, not only is it clearly connected to the character in question (That Nurse is from the Pokemon Centers), but it has a clear Pro-Town purpose, so it isn't really that strange.
Yours is surviving a duel, which (Since I'm not a Pokemon specialist), is it in any way connected with your character? And the purpose of it is...? Supposedly if it really is as you say, you only have one Pokemon left, so you become rather useless to help the town unless the mafiosi are also down to one pokemon as well, which means that that ability should give you a free ride to the end game, which is when there is a stronger chance of the mafiosi being down to such few probabilities of winning. Now, I doubt that is the purpose of your ability. What is your ability for then? Now ATPG made a pretty good theory which I hadn't thought about it. Since Mewtwo is somewhere involved in this game, I wouldn't put it past me that it could control other trainers Pokemons, and even if he/you had only one left (Which would be Mewtwo, obviously), he could still use other pokemons to night attack.
If we manage to put you in a duel and you turn out to be a townie, I'm more than willing to put myself in a duel against anyone the very next day.
Unvote, Vote: Jolt
Like him, you mean?
I've been keeping my eyes on you, Jolt... in another mafia game back in the CFC, a mafia tried to get past everyone's radars by keep on asking me of the reasons for not healing him despite the fact that I had explained the (kind of shaky) reasoning to him. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on mafioso scum.
I will only be appeased if you are my opponent for that duel, Jolt. Let's see who you truly are.
OK, I think its time to do a recap and some sorting, for the night attacks.
So far, pokemon we've seen for the attacker:
Night 1: Zangoose in one attack, Persian in another, and Blissey in a third. Nobody gone(silly normal types)
Night 2: Gyarados and claydol in first attack, then magnezone and charizard in separate attacks. Joy gone.
Day 3: Giovanni gone.
Night 3: Roserade, Walrein, Espeon in one attack. Charizard in another, and magnezone in a third. Gold and Maxi gone.
Day 4: Diamond out.
Night 4: Magnezone and Aerodactyl in one attack, Mightyena, Charizard, and Sceptile in another. Silver gone.
Day 5: Red out.
Night 5: Alakasam in one attack, Machamp and Typhlosion in another, and (my) garchomp and a gallade. Ruby and Steven out.
Something that's worth noting- the attacker at night seems to be very good about getting that first matchup well predicted, after the first night. The first night, a bunch of normal types got sent out on the attack and were trounced. The attacker(s) at night seem to have access to a large number of pokemon. A count of them shows: zangoose, persian, blissey, gyarados, claydol, magnezone, charizard, roserade, walrein, espeon, aerodactyl, mightyena, sceptile, alakazam, machamp, typhlosion, garchomp, and gallade. My guess is- the attacker has access to *all* of our pokemon at night. The normal types were thrown out on night 1 as test subjects- they had no idea who most people were, and so they sent feeble normal types, who have no type advantage, to their doom so better pokemon could be used later. Another possibility is that we're dealing with clones, ala the first pokemon movie, wherein Mewtwo cloned every trainer's pokemon. Another hint that this is a possibility is the craziness going on with the charizard and some of the other oddities at night. Trying to discern who is guilty through the duels might actually be pointless, insofar as trying to link pokemon up with the night attacks. It also would mean that Seon is hardly exonerated just for only having one pokemon left. Lastly, I'd point out that Mewtwo, being a powerful psychic, can probably brain control people, so determining guilt by role is probably pointless too.
That said, we need to get people in the ring and put pressure on them. This is going to have to come down to a good old fashioned scum hunt.
Okay! Seon and Jolt for the duel. I'm convinced that there could be something off about one of them.
By the way, my pokemon have never been used up by this pokemon cloner/thief. No one has seen my pokemon yet.
Theory: Could this trainer be using the pokemon that we did not use? Or is it confirmed they are stealing our active ones?
Edit- they haven't been using my unused pokemon either.
Unvote: pizzaguy
Vote: Secura
Secura's relative quiet concerns me more than Jolt.
I'll move my vote there, because pressure doesn't work unless it's actual pressure.
Vote: Secura
What would cause Secura to go suddenly quiet after being all over the thread at the beginning? In what way is that scummier than Jolt hanging on to Seon like a limpet whether or not it makes any sense to do so at the time?
The least Jolt could do is vote someone else once in a while.
What kind of argument is that?
Why would I do that if I believe that Seon is scum, whereas I have no idea about other people? If I been saying thus far that Seon being alive this far into the game is extremely silly town behaviour, what do you believe will make me vote for someone else?
Should I follow pack mentality and vote someone else just because you and others want me to, without there being no other arguments for it? Sorry, ever since I started playing Mafia, I was never the guy that votes with the rest of the folks just because it looks cool.
The fact is that the only person that has a reason to be suspected of being scum thus far is Seon (Not me, not you, not Secura, not ATPG), and the fact that the town doesn't acknowledge that is quite disturbing.
quick convo with Secura pushes me back onto my previous suspect Double A.
I am going to work. I am not going to whine if you make me duel today, because I have not given this game the time it deserves. However, I don't lurk as mafia and I don't not try as mafia. Ever.
unvote, vote: Double A
Having spoken to Pizza and re-read the writeup (particularly the Lance/Garchomp parts), I'm willing to give himself and 'khaan the benefit of the doubt for now; their claims make alot of sense.
I'm going to unvote, vote: Double A in the meantime.
OH MY GOD, THAT'S BRILLIANT! WHY DIDN'T I SEE IT BEFORE?
In the first Pokemon movie, what did Mewtwo do?
He CLONED all the trainers Pokemon! Mewtwo's minions must be using either cloned versions of the Pokemon we have, or the more likely situation, clones of the Pokemon we deposited in the machine!
Guys, Seon is not guilty, or at least I don't think so. He has an extra Pokemon. So what? If he was out to get us, why would he have just not deposited ONE Pokemon in the machine? If he truly wanted to win at all costs, he'd have left 3 empty Pokeballs, not one. Furthermore, you can't do much with one Pokemon. If it faints due to an unlucky matchup, you're gone. Finished. Kaput. I think every attacker lost at least one Pokemon, which would mean Seon can't be them.
And furthermore... Pizza, every single one of my Pokemon on my original team of six is from either the first or second generation. I'm Blue, a Kanto gym leader. Why would I use a foreign pokemon from Hoenn or Sinnoh? I've been training with these Pokemon since I started out on my journey. Well, smell ya later, I got stuff to do.
Not my point, really, it's more that you seem to have stuck with Seon (and only Seon) through all different possible interpretations of his extra Pokeman; I've never really seen you waver or look at anyone else, or anything. You get to go on the "we MUST lynch Seon again" crusade and never need talk about anything else.
Seon probably should have gone up for a second "lynch" long since if only because unrevealed lynch survival is so incredibly anti-town a mechanism in the first place. (Follow through on the second lynch every single time, and maybe GMs will stop using it for town players. A girl can hope. Because I hate it. But anyway.) But again that's not really the point. Correct me if I'm wrong in my description of you; I can't swear I've been paying the closest of attention.
Fair enough that you're busy, but it doesn't mean your innocent. Just because you've got a totally legitimate reason for activity doesn't mean you're innocent. That said, Unvote: Secura, Vote: Double A I'm not sure how the clone idea exonerates Seon. It pretty much means that anyone can be the mafia with any number of pokemon- they've got the huge number of "backups" which they can use for night attacks only.
I do agree with that, and also don't get that Secura says that your claim and Pizza's look solid. What does that have to do with anything?
Also --
I think living players should name their unchosen Pokemon.
I'd like to point out that anyone could go on Bulbapedia and check the trainer's most recent line-up to figure out what the trainer still has.
And that I also have a mini bandwagon for some reason.
As far as what they night attacks are using- I've seen sceptile and multiple charizards, both of which I have active. The garchomp was left on the bench, and is the one that triggered this whole discussion. Granted charizard and sceptile are both starters and thus might be common, but I think its probably safe to say that the attacker can use all of the pokemon we could choose from.
I'm going to say that I have seen Pokemon that I didn't pick. It's odd, since there are hundereds of Pokemon, even when you take into account that all the ones here are fully evolved.
I am perfectly comfortable revealing which pokemon I have, especially if I get attacked at night. Until then I feel I stand a better chance of surviving the hit if they do not know which pokemon I have lined up.
And yes, I'm aware of how flagrantly scummy it sounds. But seriously, and I will claim if I absolutely have to, it is a wiser policy not to. I actually stand a chance of surviving since I am at full health. Let's not jinx it.
Also, no pun intended.

I was waiting for an opportunity to use the image. xD
Apologies, the round should have ended an hour ago, but my house had no power.
The last votes counted will be before 12:30 PM. Tallying now.
I applaud you, good sir!
Tally:
Double A - 3 (ATPG, Secura, khaan)
Jolt - 2 (Zack, Seon)
Seon - 1 (Jolt)
The duel is between Double A and Jolt. I'll try to have the write-up done ASAP.
Observe this post of Pizza's; in it, he states that 'khaan claimed to be attacked last night, and by one of his own Pokémon no less.
I spoke to Pizza about this, he explained himself further, elaborating on the stolen Pokémon theory and 'khaan's likely innocence; the claims made sense, particularly those regarding Lance/Garchomp, and thus I opted to look elsewhere, following Pizza's suggestion of Double A since my own suspects were pretty much Pizza/Yaseikhaan.
So, in response to "what does that have to do with anything?", I would have to say "everything"; if I believe the claims, then I see them as innocent... if I see them as innocent, then they do not merit my vote.
Day 6
The seven remaining competitors all took their votes. When they were done, the announcer spoke.
“Greetings, trainers! Things seem to be getting down to the wire here, as less than half of the original seventeen trainers are still able to compete in the tournament. Some have defended their titles admirably, while others have yet to face a single battle. Today, you have chosen as the participants of the duel: Blue, the former Champion of Kanto and Gym Leader of Viridian City, and Emerald, a powerful master trainer from Hoenn! As is only natural, Blue should proceed to the blue corner. I wish there was a green corner for you, Emerald, but for now you will have to take the red corner.”
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...ion/Blue-1.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...on/Emerald.png
Each trainer took his position. Blue was confident, and especially so since, with Red eliminated, he imagined himself the most powerful trainer left in the competition. Emerald was noticeably nervous, but still had a burning desire to win, and would not go down easily.
“Alright, kid, you ready to get this over with?”
“The name’s Emerald. I’m ready to go… but only if you want to lose!”
“If both trainers are ready, then let the battle begin!”
Both trainers let loose their first Pokemon at the same time.
“Go, Pidgeot!”
“Magnezone, I choose you!”
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...018Pidgeot.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...2Magnezone.png
The match-up looked bad for Blue and Pidgeot, as Magnezone’s electric attacks would be able to blast it out of the sky. Despite this, Blue did not look worried.
“Alright, Pidgeot. Make sure you’ve got a Tailwind!”
Pidgeot flapped its great wings vigorously, then spun and soared through the air in a wide arc. Effectively, Pidgeot had created an air current that circled the battlefield, so that as long as it flew in a certain direction, it would move even faster than usual.
“Magnezone, use Zap Cannon!”
Magnezone launched a huge ball of electricity at Pidgeot, but the bird Pokemon easily avoided it. It fired several more blasts, but Pidgeot was too fast to be hit.
“Now, use Brave Bird!”
Suddenly, Pidgeot dove out of the air current and began picking up incredible speed, heading straight for Magnezone. Magnezone, unable to move quickly enough to dodged out of the way, was struck by the impact. Due to its hard steel shell, though, Magnezone was knocked around, but not incredibly harmed. Pidgeot, dazed, steadied itself as it flew away.
“Hit it with Flash Cannon!”
A beam of light flashed and shot from Magnezone striking Pidgeot in the back. Pidgeot began losing altitude and was about to crash into the ground.
“Now use Thunderbolt!”
“Roost, Pidgeot!”
Pidgeot turned its tailspin into a graceful landing, and began to rest and regain its strength. Magnezone launched a powerful electric attack at Pidgeot, and it was a direct hit, but since Pidgeot was grounded it managed to avoid being completely electrocuted.
“Mirror Move, Pidgeot!”
Pidgeot was somehow able to reverse the current of the Thunderbolt and send it all straight back at Magnezone. Magnezone bristled with static electricity and was confused by the sudden shock. Pidgeot took the opportunity to get back to the air.
“Lock on to it, Magnezone!”
Magnezone began observing Pidgeot’s electrical and magnetic signature intensely, and acquired a lock on it. Blue observed what was going on, and looked worried.
“Pidgeot, hit it with Brave Bird again!”
“Now, Zap Cannon!”
As Pidgeot began to dive-bomb Magnezone again, it began charging up for an electrical attack. Just before Pidgeot made contact. Magnezone released the Zap Cannon, hitting Pidgeot at point-blank range. Pidgeot was blasted back to its side of the arena and landed with an ungraceful thud.
“Pidgeot is unable to battle! Magnezone is the winner!”
“Return, Pidgeot. Hey, you’re not too bad, kid. But there’s no way you can beat Arcanine!”
Blue threw in a second Pokeball, releasing a large, furry Pokemon that looked like a cross between a large dog and a tiger.
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...Arcanine-1.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...2Magnezone.png
“Now, Arcanine, use Extreme Speed!”
Arcanine began to run incredibly fast, almost so that it was barely visible to the naked eye. It ran around Magnezone, who was unable to track it and spun around fruitlessly in the effort. Finally, Arcanine took the opportunity to ram into Magnezone and continued to move at high speed around the arena.
“Magnezone, Lock On!”
Magnezone tried to lock on to Arcanine, but it was taking longer to do so than it had for Pidgeot.
“Finish this, Arcanine. Use Flamethrower!”
Arcanine zipped up to Magnezone and stopped short. Then it unleashed a torrent of white-hot flame from its mouth, bathing Magnezone in it. Magnezone was engulfed in the inferno, and as its circuits began to fry it fell to the floor, shutting down.
“Magnezone is unable to battle. Arcanine is the winner!”
“Go, Altaria!”
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...Arcanine-1.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...334Altaria.png
Emerald’s Pokemon looked conspicuously like a large, flying ball of cotton. Blue was unsure whether or not to laugh.
“Arcanine, use Flamethrower!”
The flames engulfed Altaria, but it was not devastated by the attack. Instead, with a flap of its fluffy wings, it beat back the flames and floated away.
“Dragon Pulse, Altaria!”
Altaria now launched a powerful blast of energy from its mouth that struck Arcanine and knocked it off its feet.
“That thing is a Dragon?”
“Altaria, Earthquake!”
As it floated by, Altaria’s eyes glowed, and the ground began to shake. A spike of earth shot up from underneath Arcanine, sending it flying into the air as it yelped in pain.
“Arcanine, use Thunder Fang!”
While still in the air, Arcanine maneuvered itself so that its jaws snapped onto Altaria’s neck, flooding the dragon with electric current. The weight of Arcanine drove both of them into the ground, and pinned Altaria underneath it.
“No! Altaria! Hmm… use Perish Song.”
What sounded less like a song and more like a mournful, wailing screech was released from Altaria’s throat. Both Pokemon winced from the sound, but Arcanine kept biting with Thunder Fang.
“Dragon Pulse! Get it off you!”
Altaria gathered up its strength, and blasted Arcanine with an outward pulse of energy. Arcanine was knocked off of it, and struggled to get back up.
“Sky Attack!”
As fast as it could, Altaria charged into Arcanine, knocking it to the ground again. This time, the tired Pokemon did not get back up.
“Arcanine is unable to battle! Altaria is the winner!”
“Fine then! Go, Exeggutor!”
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...xeggutor-1.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...334Altaria.png
Now it was Emerald’s turn to be amused at the appearance of Blue’ Exeggutor, which looked almost like a walking palm tree.
“Laugh all you want! Exeggutor, use Psychic!”
Exeggutor’s six eyes glowed with Psychic energy, and it threw the airborne Altaria back into the ground.
“Sky Attack!”
Altaria got back up, and was about to take to the air again, but a pained, tired look suddenly crossed its face. Altaria fell down and fainted.
“Oh no! The Perish Song… I forgot.”
“Too bad. You could’ve gone without it.”
“Altaria is unable to battle. Exeggutor is the winner!”
Emerald took out his last Pokeball. He gripped it tight, built up his confidence, and then hurled it into the arena.
“Go, Gardevoir!”
https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...xeggutor-1.png VS https://i709.photobucket.com/albums/...2Gardevoir.png
Gardevoir glided gracefully a few inches off the ground when it moved. It seemed determined to protect its trainer from the possible loss.
“Psychic attack, Gardevoir!”
“Do the same, Exeggutor!”
Both Pokemon, having Psychic tendencies, would have trouble using them against each other. Both Pokemon’s eyes began glowing with otherworldly energy, and they were each still and unmoving. Although it looked as if nothing were happening, in reality their minds had formed a connection and were dueling for dominance. Both Exeggutor and Gardevoir looked under incredible stress.
“I know you can do it, Gardevoir!”
Eventually, Gardevoir switched its strategy and began firing Psychic waves of energy at its opponent as well. Exeggutor was struck by the first of them, and tried to dodge the attacks.
“Come on, Exeggutor! Use Light Screen and retaliate against it!”
A bubble of Psychic energy appeared around Exeggutor, shielding it from Gardevoir’s energy blasts. It began to fire its own Psychic wave blasts.
“Defend yourself, Gardevoir!”
Gardevoir threw up a Light Screen bubble as well, blocking Exeggutor’s attacks as it continued its own. Now each Pokemon was under incredible strain, simultaneously dueling with their minds, firing energy blasts, and holding up a defensive wall of energy.
“Now you’ve got it, Gardevoir! Imprison it!”
Gardevoir accessed the parts of Exeggutor’s mind that it could navigate easily- that is, the memories that the two Pokemon shared. Then it shut down and blocked those parts of its mind. Suddenly, Exeggutor’s attacks stopped and its Light Screen dropped. It was unable to perform any move that Gardevoir also knew how to do.
“Gardevoir, attack!”
Exeggutor was blasted by the Psychic waves, lifted into the air, and thrown backwards. It landed with a heavy thud. However, Exeggutor managed to get back up, albeit wearily. It was a resilient Pokemon.
“Good save, Exeggutor. Unfortunately for you, kid, we don’t need Psychic attacks to beat you. Use Leaf Storm!”
Exeggutor launched a massive storm of razor leaves at Gardevoir. All of the leaves were blocked by Gardevoir’s Light Screen, but it had to expend extra energy to keep the shield up and was forced on the defensive.
“Now, use Wood Hammer!”
With its great tree-trunk legs, Exeggutor began to charge forward, straight at Gardevoir. All the while the leaves from the storm were still holding Gardevoir back, preventing it from attacking. Exeggutor ran straight into Gardevoir’s shield, shattering it and continuing onward to smash it with a heavy headbutt. The frail Gardevoir was knocked to the ground, and fainted from the concussive blow.
“No! Gardevoir!”
“Gardevoir is unable to battle. Exeggutor is the winner! This means that Blue is victorious, and unfortunately, Emerald has been eliminated from the competition.”
Emerald ran up to his Pokemon and made sure it was ok before returning it to its ball. He regarded the ball fondly, then put it away before walking up to Blue.
“That was a good battle, Blue. I’ve learned a lot, even if I didn’t win.”
“Hey, you put up a good fight. I was worried when you came out with that Imprison attack.”
The two trainers shook hands, and turned around to go their separate ways. Before Emerald was out of earshot, however, Blue called to him.
“Hey! Smell you later, Emerald!”

Begin Night 6
It ends 5:00 PM tomorrow.
Your sig line appears a bit dated, Chaotix.
Now that we know that I am a townie, let's finally lynch Seon?
I believe you all owe me a bit of an apology.
Or a couple of max revives. Either would be nice. I fully expect to be attacked due to not having any "flagged" Pokemon, as well as only having one I can use.
Okay, what's Zack's defense?
Systematic pressure and virtual elimination has moved me past candidates Secura, Double A, Yaseikhaan.
Before I say good-bye to Seon, I want to know all about Zack. Does he have an alibi?
Also, I expect I'll need to provide one in the AM if I am not attacked. I'm prepared for that.
This is where I am getting red flags from. I basically said the same thing before we came up with theories as to how Seon could still be guilty.
What exactly do I need to defend myself from?
While we're at it -- how would you like it done? Rare, medium, well-done, somewhere in between? Any sides? Beverage?
Before we get to that, though, I need you to tell me one thing. What would you like for the main course?
 This is not a good defense.
There is a person or persons attacking us at night-
I just remembered there are 6 of us left. Should two of us die tonight, that likely means you've won, haven't you? You're quite cocky in your non-response to my pressure.
Well, my friend, if I survive the night, it will be your head on the platter tomorrow. I just fear I am too late now.
I would play the *I've only ever been town on the org* card, but that never goes over well.
Or the *You've never nailed me as scum, except when basing it off my behavior from before I was recruited to the mafia faction, I've been town all the other times you've brought out the big guns*, but I fear that would go over even worse than the previous card. Besides, I'm not even sure if that's completely true.
Frankly, I'm terrible at cards, Mr. Pizza Man.
(:laugh4:)
I'll go to battle tomorrow, I guess. Although I would prefer mafia battling each other, maybe I can take one down.
Hey, all!
I have just been informed that I'm going out to dinner for my birthday about an hour before the night is set to end (which means about 2 hours from now).
I'm not going to have time to finish and post the write-up before that time. However, I realize I have been perpetually late with these things and it's probably annoying you all. So, if you guys would like the day phase to begin at 4 PM today, then I can post a summary of what the write-up would have said at that time, and then when I get back fill it in with the true write-up.
This will probably destroy any sense of suspense that the write-up might have had.
So, let me know if you guys want to start early/on-time with a barebones write-up, or a few hours later with a full write-up. Thanks!
I can be patient. Have fun, Chaotix.
Hello.
Both happy birthday.
What?
Wow, how come you never mentioned it was your birthday?
