Nah, definitely kidnapped by Canadians, like Takhisis said. It's the only explanation that makes any logical sense.
Guys, I found Pizza on the floor of Pizzahut, gave him CPR and revived him, he is doing okay now.
(really I just called him and he fine, just overworked since they just lost yet another assistant manager suddenly, and he has had to fill in every night).
He will get on here himself as soon as he can.
I am not sure how many people understand the level of stress and long hours that people doing his (RL) job have to deal with. I did something similar for a few years, and it was literally exhausting and frustrating and probably aged me 10 years.
I have pleaded with him to quit his job and open a pizza joint with me in the Philippines, but I think he is scared of beautiful women
Maybe cookies are enabled on this site so we can send him some?
Probably the Canadians have bought enough shares in his employers' company that they can force him to give up on this game. The only solution is to use a nukular bombardementz on teh Canada.
'Other'?
Philippines.
No, but I've been to the Outer Banks of NC, and those are also islands. They must be pretty much the same thing, then, because America.
Hello everyone.
Okay, so here's what's been going down in pizzaland.
After a holiday season where many of my days off were gobbled up, our latest bungee boss left for greener pastures, making my request to work only 4 days a week a joke, and limiting my days off to once in a while, and by themselves.
Worse, this status change doesn't appear to be going away anytime soon, and I've had neither the energy nor the time to update squat, forcing me to contemplate the future of the game in progress, progress being nonexistent of course.
Delays like this can't keep happening because we'll be at this game all year long. Nobody signed up for that, not even me.
On the one hand, after all the prep work and assembling of a large crew of gamers, letting the game die would probably mean that I'll never try something like this again. Which I don't like to think about.
On the other hand, the last time I did this, I had the necessary 30+ hours a week to host it. Sure we'd have delays but not for weeks.
Anyway- I'm all right, but my time on here or really anywhere is fairly curtailed. I might have a couple hours before I fall asleep each night but that's nowhere near enough to keep any kind of schedule.
So, the decision I'm forced to make is this:
If you guys want to keep going, you will get a standard number of days to get your orders in, and then, the hosting will commence. Depending on what's going on, it may be a few days or a week to get a turn done. I'll also probably be forced to ask my co-hosts for additional help, and if they're not available, I'll get it done.
If you don't want to continue, with a schedule like that, fire me off a PM letting me know you're dropping due to the schedule change. I'm fine with that. We'll make do as best we can.
You should also know that the game was on hiatus during the holidays, I didn't expect to work on it until close to January, and that's when the issues at work snowballed. There will be no such thing as a month-long delay in the future.

I'll just use the insta-win ability, I wanted to try playing it but I'd better remove one obnoxious player from the game.
I may want to keep playing this game, but if you're so overworked you're collapsing on the floor, maybe continuing to host isn't such a great idea.
I'm in for the long haul, but I don't want you to feel obligated to do it. I'm in as long as you are but don't blame you if you want to stop or even put it on pause for a while.
Similarly I would like to continue and am happy to meet any deadlines you impose, ATPG. However, please don't feel bad if you want to drop the game due to your sudden change in circumstances...
I don't expect to die in the game or in real life so I can continue
I'm still in and I'll be ready when the zombie start shambling again.
I'm willing to keep playing, but if it's going to sap away all your free time ATPG I'd prefer to leave it for now to be honest - as ihcjay said, you could absolutely put this on pause if you don't want to drop all the work you've put into this. You could make a note of who everyone is, where they are and what they have, put it in storage, and bring it back once it's less of a :ballchain: for you; replace all returning players to their prior positions and recruit new guys to take on the roles of anyone who doesn't come back.
But if you're still going then I'll stay on :candle:
I'm willing to continue but like others said if it takes too much of your free time then put the game on pause or something. I know very well how personal life can ruin hosting a game.
While I could certainly keep going, 30+ hrs a week is clearly too much to ask of anyone. What's a more realistic time frame given your work commitments, pizza? With you working 6 days a week (maybe longer than 8 hrs days, too,) an altered timeline is an important thing to come up with. :)
Wishing you the best! Don't exhaust yourself. :)
I agree with the others, it is up to you what you want to do Pizza.
My opinion hasn't chanced since I sent you that PM when I found out you were hosting this. I thought you are certifiably crazy to even consider hosting this. Half of me wants to to take advantage of that and to continue to enjoy this game. The other half implores you to consider what little is left of your sanity.
Fine by me. Just make sure to give a several day phase again.
Outsource to Asia next time
My activity level will not sink regardless of the outcome.
still good to go.
Still in.
We should all write to congress to give Pizza shorter workweeks so he can update this without also having a hernia.
I'm still in if you are.
I agree with what has been said before. It seems like you have more than enough on your plate already. If this is a burden, then please, don't feel like you have an obligation to host this game, if hosting is something you absolutely love, then go ahead. It's all fine by me. Regardless of what you do, I love you.
Please rest even if you feel you can do it in these hard times.
When you are fully ready to host again, I'll be back
I know how to smell. I just don't know the when. :shame:
I know how to ruin the joke.
Alright.
Plenty of folks have shown a lot of support and are willing to be flexible about the time, even willing to adjourn the game and come back when it's possible to continue. That's good news.
The issue is that we're approaching Super Bowl week, and not just that one day, but the days leading up to it and even afterward are much busier than usual. Every day is like two days worth of business. And I'll be working long days, most of the week.
So nothing can possibly be done until after that's done. After that, I'll request again to my boss that my schedule get restored to what it was prior to Christmas, so it will leave me at least a day or two a week to devote purely to this game.
If you guys can humor me until then, we'll give this one more shot. If I can't make it happen then, it will be a real pity, but I think we all knew I was crazy to try this while holding down a full time job anyway, so at least it wasn't a total surprise.
Fingers crossed this gets resolved soon.
You heard the guy. Humor him :whip:
Take your best jester suit and be funny !
It must be more than seven years since I last ordered a pizza. I can't be blamed for this.
I must also point out that Americans are enormous, lazy buttholes and like to order pizza in foul -- especially cold -- weather. And of course not tip. And right now it is cold in the USA
And how is it in Okrahoma?
It's cold there, too, but I am not there nor will I ever be. Here on the island it is a brisk 72F with medium gusts of wind and mild precipitation..... weekend forecast Partly drunk with a chance of horny
I want to play but I don't want you killing yourself to host it :)
I do understand short staffed and too much work.
Pizza: I'll be ready when you are.
You won't get rid of our bromance that easily, Pizza!
~
just checkin in, pm me when we move forward
Me too PM me on 2+2 please
^^
co-signed, would prefer a 2+2 PM.
Greetings everyone. :shame:
UPDATE and conclusion:
With each passing week I held out some kind of hope that things would improve.
After assistant manager lady quit around Super Bowl time, we lost a ton of drivers, followed by another manager, followed by a third manager, and we're about to lose a fourth manager at the beginning of April. All of these managers were replacements from out of town, and simply could not hack it. As a result of the massive lack of help at work, and the fact that I'm one of the few who seems to continue to show up to work, my off days have been rare and I've usually been too exhausted to do a damned thing when I get home.
The bad news is that this is only going to get worse.
It is now a distinct possibility that I am about to get a promotion at work. One which will move me from hourly to salary, and force me to take on a minimum number of hours and days at work.
This means that I either turn down the promotion (which, tbh, I am considering. I'm exhausted) or I accept, and if I do, that pretty much ends my ability to host games of any kind... ever.
My days will be 10-11 hours long, and I'll be even more exhausted than I already am.
It will never again be possible for me to host a game of this type, and hosting even regular, ordinary mafia game will be pretty much out of the question, unless I'm on vacation. And I can't run a game in 7 days.
Unless the winds of fate change rather dramatically in the next few weeks, I will need to retire completely from being a game host, and also cut back radically on mafia gaming in general.
With a heavy heart, I must give this long-delayed game its resolution. I did not anticipate any of this, I've worked at this place for several years and I've never seen the sort of business we've been getting, or the horrendous staffing and management problems.
Even if I decline the promotion, my hours aren't going to drop. There's just no way out for me.
I regret very much that I am unable to put this game back in gear. Fortunately we didn't get too far in, and its been on pause for a while, so I doubt very many of you will have missed out on too much, except what might have been. This game was supposed to be something grand and it just cannot be.
I'm sorry for all of this, but I want to end on a positive note.
Thank you all, my many friends, most of you have been players in games of mine (and vice versa) for several years, and to the newcomers as well. Thank you for signing up and thank you for participating, and chewing through all those rules and getting those orders in. Thank you to my co-hosts who volunteered to give me some help with gathering stuff together and getting it ready for me, and so on and so forth.
If, and this is a big if, my situation drastically changes, I have all of the game information, map, story, and so forth, all that data is saved. If it is ever possible for me to actually host this thing, I will absolutely invite back everyone who is interested in playing it out. I don't know when that will be, if at all. But it will always be a thing at the back of my mind that I wanted to see played out.
I realize this is just a game but it's rather heartbreaking for me to have to do this. I'm sorry if I haven't responded to PMs about the game. It's been frankly depressing that I couldn't do anything about this game I worked so hard on, and contemplating its early death has been quite saddening to me.
That's all I can really say about that. Thanks for everything, my friends.
Well, it was good while it lasted. Good luck on your real life ATPG. ;)
Thanks for everything pizza. I hope that whatever the outcome is at work, it will turn out best for you.
Oh, and don't be a stranger around here.
Go not gentle into that good night...
:candle:
I DECLARE MYSELF THE WINNER
Understandable Pizza, and thanks for letting us know.
Best of luck with your RL issues, I hope things improve at work for you soon. I know you'll make the best decision for yourself in this matter. :2thumbsup:
Please don't rule out at least joining some games in the near future (and hopefully hosting again, 'cause you are an awesome host), because the org. (as well as many other forums) would not be the same without you. :kiss2: ~:thumb:
Please don't decline a promotion to a salaried position to host this game. Your career and livelihood are far more important.
Well, we'll miss you, señor Pizzaguy. Don't sacrifice your real life for forum games.
Solution:
1. Invent Device that allows you to control time.
2. Get Infinite Time.
3. Use Time to Host Game.
4. ???
5. Profit
Your level of dedication to your job is admirable and also highly depressing.
If you managed my pizzeria in the Philippines, you wouldn't be working nearly as much. Death to America
At least I got to kill a zombie
Therefore I win.
I was the only person who chose 1 HP, you're all weak.
Thanks for running this Pizza, hope things work out for you, do what is best for yourself.
I chose 10 Strength, thinking I could break down the lab's door, gather everything quickly and leave before the hordes of players started making their way there. I get there, and can't break the gate down regardless of Strength. So I was stuck with a horrible build. I'm glad this game ended right now, it allows me to continue being one of the few survivors in Resident Evil game.
It's like choosing Narg in Fallout II and then finding out there's powered armour so you have needlessly allocated a few points to his Strength stat.
Hey, it means I survived the RE game after all. Does this mean we can discuss who we are/were?
let's play this when you have more time, ATPG.

Host request:
If you would like to discuss this game, I would request that we establish the following ground rules (so as to make it even a possibility this game can be played some day)
1. If you were given a role which is not a Town Survivor role, please do not discuss any of your mission objectives or even identify your team or its purpose. Why? If the game starts again, and you're available to play it, I'd prefer you play out your original team's roles, since you've already been spoiled as to what they need to do or who they are.
2. Please don't discuss the kinds of weapons, items, or clues you've found at any location, because that information will unbalance the game if it starts again.
3. If you have knowledge of upcoming pieces of the story, please don't reveal them.
4. If you were a town survivor and had special powers or non-standard mission objectives please don't discuss those.
Uh....
I honestly don't feel like there's that much that is going to be interesting to reveal or talk about which doesn't spoil the game or unbalance it. But I can't really stop people from wanting to.
Just know that if these specific things are discussed too much, it will guarantee I'll have to rewrite, rebalance, or even re-randomize the game.
Both I and the Cæsarist scum thank you for this post of yours, Pizzamandude, but why can't I discuss my PG of killing him?
Actually, you were at the time being mind-controlled by Visorslash the Great. In His Wisdom, He taught us and gave us some of His gaming glory.
