Hello everyone, glade to be here.
I suppose it'll be a good idea to brievly introduce myself:
First, I'm French, so my apologies for my bad english. I'll do my best.
As everyone here, I'm a fan of the TW games, and I would say that the EB mod il a true jewel, I'm completly addicted.
I'm curious, about the makers of a so excellent job.
I'm a little jealous in fact, being personnaly a nut in coding and about informatic in general.
In real life, I'm historian of religions, actually doing a Master about Mazdean system in Achaemenid and Seleucid empires.
If I could help, call me, it would be a pleasure.
Good day.

Hi there fans of Total War, I'm Equilibrium and just registered here. I guess I'm supposed to introduce myself so I'll do that. First, I'm not new to Total War and and am already registered at TWC and RTR.org; the reason why I registered is for one part because I thought about it for quite a while but mainly because I helped the EB team a little at TWC and was asked if I wanted to join their team, so here I am. I'm from Germany and of course English aint my native language so excuse me if my English is sometimes not as perfect as yours :). Also if you're form germany and like RTR you should take a look at the link in my sig, because me and a few others did a german translation for every part of the 6.x series of the mod and are currently working on the version for RTR6.3/Gold. For my real life, I'm a student, 19 years old, interested in history/soccer/pcgames and of course a great fan of the Total War series.
I'm not a theologian.
It's neither my job nor my purpose to depict a religious system as better than the others, or to classified...I'm also not of the evolutionnist school about religions ( shamanism -> polytheism -> monotheism ).
We walk on the dangerous path of historic criticism against all religions, giving a ruling place to none of them. We just try to understand the humans origins behind every religious system and to replace them in the context of history.
Now...personnaly, I trust in no gods or daemons, only in the incredible potential of mankind, for the best and the worse.
If I have to gave a personnal and subjective opinion after all, I think that I'll answer Christianism, but only because it gave _mixed with Greek philosophy_ our Occidental way of thinking, who's the first system of real Free Religion.
A true gift for humanity.
I'll be glad to speak of this furthermore but I don't think this thread is the good place, so in PM or on a special thread, why not ?
Please answer me by one of this ways, and not here, I know of experience that speaking about religion on internet conduct every time on Godwin point.
Hello everyone. I`am Asmodai (Asmo for friends) and...i just want to say hello~:)
Well hello to everyone, nice house. This is a great game and I look forward to learning from you all.
Welcome Wildkrd99! That was a pretty easy sign up process don't you think? I'll be happy to give you a tour now that you are in the Guild!Quote:

I'm here enough that I just like to check the threads. I might run into other information that is just as interesting or useful.
Glad to be here - There was a glitch with getting registered, but I suspect my e-mail was bouncing back the registration. Don't know why because it's worked fine in the past.
Anyway thanks to KukriKhan :2thumbsup: I'm online now.
Here's the reason for my registration. I've looked for the answer on this forum and another one, but no joy.
I got my son hooked on M:TW when he was home. He fired it up and tried it and liked it well enough to go out and buy it.
He has a new computer with a LCD screen. Dell 19" ultrasharp. The game runs fine, but when he goes to a battle, the screen is black. It looks like it is trying to draw in, but not able to do it. :wall:
From my nosing around on the internet, I suspect that the problem is something about the refresh rate. He has it set for 60, but I suspect the game is trying to set it higher.
Any answers for him out there? :idea2:
He is having fun with the strategy game and letting the game auto-calc the battles. But he actually bought a second copy thinking the first may have been defective. He gave the second copy to a friend, and he wants to go online against his friend.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Welcome, Kestrel!
The main technical problem I know of with M:TW is incompatibility with newer NVidia drivers, but I think that usually causes CTD's, so this is probably something else. The best place to ask would be the apothecary https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=15, where our resident techie nerds can share their vast expertise. You should be able to post there already.
Anyway, the campaign game is great, but it's the battles I really love, so hopefully you can get that up and running soon. Good luck!

I am headed for the apothecary, but thought I might as well throw the issue on the table here while I was waiting for privileges.
See you around the Guild!
Um, did you know Kestrel one?
Thx for warm welcome.
I have question, if i may...
How many post i must write to become member?
As a junior member, i cannot post in most threads. Only entrance hall, and guides are available to me...~:mecry:

Hi,I too am new on this forum. I've played Total War(Shogun and Medieval) for two years now and I must say that they are excellent games. I'm looking forward to discuss about Medieval here with you :2thumbsup: .
Hey everybody! I saw a link to a strategy guide here, looked around, and thought I could contribute some, so I joined; hence, I am here (obv).
So, I have RTW and BI. Hope to enjoy it here.
Welcom Random Dude. We look forward to seeing you in great convos about the greatest game series of all time.:balloon2:
Welcome Random Dude. Enjoy your stay at the .org~
Hi to everyone!!:2thumbsup:

Im looking forward to playing Crusade total war and the Arthurian version too! As a side note i saw a sig i would like ( the crusade sig from his sub forum) however i dont knwo how to get it? :help: please?
Hi Everybody!
I'm Zoltán from Hungary, my age is 17 and it can be a bit surprising but I am a devoted Total War fan. ;-)
I'm interested in military history, middle ages and pc games, so TWs are my favourite games of all time. I was almost small child when the first tw experience (Shogun) broke in my life, and I'm stil playing with this classic.
On the other hand I not only play, I do the fight i.e. I pursue karate for 5 years. This is my primary hobby, besides I play and love football, listen to music (mainly german industrial metal) and read novels (Ken Follett is the best!).
Total War sorrunds us!
Heh. German industrial rocks, just as that`s said(though my experience with that sort of music limits itself to Rammstein). :2thumbsup: Welcome indeed.Quote:

Thanks very much Cheers guys ~;)
Hey brother Lion! :medievalcheers:
Hi, just signed up after getting back into MTW VI. Just browsing through the forums I see some technical issues of members getting back into the game and encountering the same problem with CTD. I think I found a simple solution with the antialsing settings on the VGC. Nothing is more frustrating then having a game work before and a couple hardware upgrades resulting in CTD.
Just wanted to put my two cents in to help out.
Welcome, please enjoy your stay.
Welcome to all new members!!
Well hi to you all in the .org!:embarassed: Just a few introductory notes: I'm from Greece and currently in my obligatory rural practice as a medical doctor on a really small Aegean island! As you can understand there's not much to do here. I've played all games of the Total War series for several years (since 2000) but not on MP. Every time I tried to face a human general I got obliterated!:sweatdrop: So I'm sticking to the good old AI. I've enjoyed the .org threads for quite some time now and I finally got to posting myself. That's all for now. Again, hi to you all!
PS: Six Total War games later and still I can't get over the naginata samurai. By the far the best unit on the series!
Welcome spanakoryzo. I have been to Greece many times and I love the place. My father lives on the other side on Corfu.:2thumbsup:
My personal favourite though is Skiathos, nice and quiet when you get out of the town.
This is without doubt the best site for the TW series, I have played all of them from vanilla shoggy to BI. Enjoy your stay.~
Thanks for the warm welcome IndianApache! I must say that I agree about Skiathos, you have a good taste on vacation islands. As for Corfu, well your father is lucky to reside in such a beautiful place. Are you English? I've lived in England (Oxford) for 3 years as a child. My father used to be a "roaming" academic! That's all for now, I'm off to prescribing some more antibiotics. Such fun...:juggle2:
I apologise for getting your user name wrong InsaneApache! When you try to do 3 different things at the same time mistakes will happen!
LOL, no problem. Yes I am English, and so is my father. It does indeed snow in Greece, a lot. Those bloody mountains I'll wager. :laugh4:
Well yasus (:embarassed: ) and calanita :inquisitive:
I am so sure that was wrong:laugh4:
Welcome to the Org. spanakoryzo.
Hello all. this is my first post to the forums though I have read and lurked on these forums for a little while now. I finnally got off my duff and signed up. So I can acctually contribute instead of mooching. :sweatdrop:
Im new here too. Be gentle with me,I bruise easily! ;)
Though but a Junior Member myself, let me be the first to welcome you, Vincent - Son of Lurker and you as well blazer-glory - spawn of Gentleman and Easily Bruised. May your stay be an eventful one.

Thanks.
Welcome to the Org then! May your posts be wise and plentiful.
hey yall. i signed up a while ago cause i was interested in moding a few things for MTW. but because of breaks and work i wasnt able to come back for a while. but this site/forum is awesome it has been a world of help to me. congrats to the people who made and maintain it.
hey, im new here and this forum looks nice since i enjoy Total War games.
My favorite is Medieval and I've been playing it for a year and a half and still addicted to the campaigns.:jumping:
I'm back from a trip to Athens and it was just about time to check out the forum. Thanks for the warm welcome Zalmoxis! I'd like to welcome all the newbies out there - just like me - too! Hi to you all. By the way, it's "ja su" (hallo) and "kalinihta" (good night) InsaneApache. It was a good try though!:2thumbsup:
Doesn't ja su also mean goodbye? Also is it not the case that Ja sus would be a more formal/respectful way to say hello/goodbye?Quote:

Thx for welcome guys...funny thing I had link to totalwar.org on mine clan website for over 3 months.Just never click on it :-)
After a crazy day (or two) I'm back - again - in the forums. That sounded like a disco song! Anyway, I hope that the moderators forgive me if I go a bit off topic here. InsaneApache "ja su" comes from "ijia su" (health to you) and is used as hallo, goodbye and a cheerful greeting - when drinking wine for instance. It's a useful little phrase! It's good to know that you're trying to remember modern greek, not so many foreigners do so. As for calimari, when we want to make a joke on somebody's birthday instead of wishing "polihroNos ki eFtihismenos" (many-years and happy) we say "polihroMos ki eNtihismenos" (colourful and in-the-wall)! You've "discovered" the greek fun spirit all by yourself mate! Hi to all the newer-than-me members in here.
Yamas to all new members...~ ~ ~:grouphug: and for spanakoryzo ~;)
Good Evening all ..well it is evening here is the UK.
47 year old male.
Playing RTW V1.5 which I got for Christmas 2005. Like to understand and exploit vanilla version of games, dont mod. Like researching. Dont multiplay and own style of play is micromanage/pause/micromanage some more.
Last year Played Locomotion and year before that Tropico2. Whilst a moderator of a Locomotion site I organised competitions one of which had an interforum dimension.
Hi. I'm cool.
What else can I say? :P
Good afternoon yall. I'm 17 male and stumbold across this forum while looking up EB.
I'm from.. Nevermind that yall know that.
Hi, I'm stson.
Long-time reader of both totalwar.com and the ORG, I've posted a moderate amount of times on the COM. Looking to have the same privileges here.
37 year old sailor, I tend to play (and post) on a feast-or-famine basis based on whether my ship is inport or not.
Welcome aboard, you scurvy dog! I feel a little ashamed being an Army gal and all and not having a readied anti-Navy quip at hand, so I'll have to owe you one.Quote:

I play RTW & BI, but I am intrigued by this thing you call MTW. However, as a busy grad student, I must postpone my Crusade in favor of my Empire. Somehow, I think the timing is all wrong anyway.
Welcome. Well, I'm gonna go to another forum now... bye.
Hello, all, Guillaume here to say, erm, hello... to the esteemed members of the .org! I have been a big fan of the Total War series since first casting my incredulous eyes on the STW box in my local game store years ago.
I'm 34, married, and live in the States. I enjoy military history a good bit, and prefer historically accurate games over fanatsy, but have always been happy to play vanilla versions of the TW series. Haven't ventured online to chance a MP match as of yet, as I'm pretty attached to the "P" key!
Looking forward to MTW2; curious to see what changes to interface, etc. are forthcoming.
Great site and forum here, particularly the rather thorough froggbeastegg guides. Job well done!
Toodles,
Mick aka Guillaume l.B.
