Manitou Lake in Manitoulin Island in the Huron Lake??
@Favius : This place is of course real, otherwise I wouldn't ask it
@Somebody Else : Nope, that's wrong
@Favius again : Not really, at least not what I'm looking for, try to re-read and examine the question closely
I'll give a hint later, by weekend possibly if no one can answer
Crater lake? (wild guess, although Im pretty sure I might have the listed requirements......)
Nope...I've never even heard of it...
Ok, so it is a tricky question... umm.., problem is, my mind translate it literally...Quote:

@Favius Argentum and everyone else:
At first I planned to add clear-lead hint later this weekend, but it turned out to me I must make 'enlightening' hints instead ~;) (and not adding any detail), so here, be ready to read my 'essay':
- When I said re-read and examine I don't mean that this question is like one of those Lord Motep's question in History Quiz put (father and son which turned out to be country) I really mean lakes and islands, therefore it's not Lagos, Favius
- Again, it seemed people failed (except Favius, you're doing the best job so far ~:thumb: ) to describe and answer what the question's is precisely asking. I want the name of these islands and lakes that surrounded them, not just the name of the lake or just name of the island, therefore no matter whether your answer is right or wrong, unless you put it like Favius:
orQuote:

~;)Quote:
Lagos in Nigeria?
your answer will be wrong
- And again, I'm looking for (I'll put it more clear):
1. An island, located within
2. A lake, inside
3. An island, which is in
4. A lake
and not the other way around, Favius is close (again, good job ~:thumb: ) but his answer is not right, while Somebody Else gave answer that's not what exactly the question's asking (he gives a lake inside an island...etc) and not even (you lazy boy! ~;p ) try to provide the answer the way Favius' did.
That's it...I guess that's my "hints" now...that's a lot you know, I'll give real "hints" or "clues" as Favius said it next weekend, when still nobody can answer the question.
:charge:
Edit: Made my essay more 'beautiful'
(:laugh4: ) Bulla island, Caspian sea, Asia, the oceans....(:laugh4: )
Nah...when I wrote lake, I really mean lake not some oceans and your wild imagination ~;p
This must be even harder than your deceitful History Quiz question, Motep :rolleyes5: ~:joker:
I'm sure it's not the place you're looking for, but is most probable than the Bulla Island anyway.:laugh4:
Rahui Island in the Lake Waikareiti in the North Island of New Zealand?:wall:
Man-made islands or lakes count?
Has this quiz died?
Two weeks and no one managed to get the true answer! What a masterpiece! ~;p
No Favius, you're looking too far. Look no further than one of your previous answers ~;)Quote:

Since nobody got the correct answer, I'll throw a few hints:
- This unique place is not located in the country with most lakes and not within the continent where this country is located
- This unique place is not located in the country with most islands and not within the continent where this country is located
- Favius, I already gave another one ~;)
Taal Volcano, phillipines.
now my turn.
1)Where in my house is my remote control RIGHT NOW? Answer literally and in terms of latitude and longitude.
Basically, you want the latitude and longitude of Long Island?
TuffStuffMcGruff your answer is wrong. And how come you suddenly take over my turn when nobody even answered it correctly...READ the RULES! :furious3:Quote:

A number of people have already answered your question. The Taal volcano, located on the island of Luzon in the Philippines is AN answer. Maybe not the exact thing you were thinking of, but the question was answered.
Either way, your question/riddle is answered and the game will not be ruined for another 2 weeks. YOUR question is void because you didn't answer any question in the first place.
INTERNET ARGUING!
Peoples peoples please no arguing, just ask everyone else!
Who thinks it should still be Tran's go?
ANd who thinks it should be TuffStuffMcGruff's go?
Better idea. Warluster decides since it is his thread. Now let's get on with it.Quote:

Now make them Capital Cities,Countries, MAIN CITIES. But no small cities, only like, for example
Berlin,Frankfut,Hamburg. You can ask where that is but no small town around where you live or something, they can only be BIG CITIES. New York,Hong Kong, that sort of thing
So Tran be good and tell us the name of the island, please.:book:
Yep, this is getting boring. At first I was glad that Tran didn't ask an easy question, but this is getting out of hand. Ok, nobody knows what that is, tell us the answer and ask another one, since nobody got this one.
I think that is a fair rule. If nobody answers correctly in one week, the person who asked the question tells the answer and ask another one. Otherwise it could go on for weeks. If that's ok with the OP and other "quizers", of course...
A reasonable amount of time seems fair, to keep this game progressing. A week or so is good. I think by now we're all done googling for the island within a lake etc etc.
But let's be nice to Tran. I suggest we simply concede our loss, compliment him for his tough question, ask for the proper answer, and move this game on.
:balloon2:
Within the answer format is it. Taal Volcano in Crater Lake in Volcano Island in Taal Lake in Luzon which is next to the Philiphines Sea
At first I wanted to argue back and bash at Tuff's respond, but after reading the respond from some others people, then I think I will just reveal the answer. I hold the question and answer previously because there are no time-limit in the rules and the rules are clear enough to me. Therefore if anyone suggest "time-limit" to the game's rules then it might be considered. I really don't mind, but as long as it is stated clearly and no one attempt to break it.
I didn't expect that I have to get into this sort of argument and hope that nobody attempt to turn this thread into debate. That's it, perhaps Tuff has considered to end this arguing too?Quote:

Manitou Lake in Manitoulin Island in the Huron Lake??
Ryan Island in Siskiwit Lake on Isle Royale in Lake Superior
Which is the largest island in a lake on an island in a lake
Now I know some of you will undoubtfully label my answer as false, but I will just let you read the sources and perhaps you might reconsider.
Here are the sources:
Source no.1: http://www.isle.royale.national-park.com/info.htm#his (read the last paragraph in Island History section)
Source no.2: http://www.geocities.com/statesaz2/Michigan.html (read the "I is for Industries, Insects, & Islands" section)
Source no.3: http://www.nps.gov/isro/faqs.htm (read the first question in Trivia part, near the end of page)
And finally source no.4 the famous Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isle_Ro...ist_of_islands
(In my opinion) For the person who ask the next question should be Favius because he did the best job by giving answers to what I required (specific and detailed answers) and had been trying for few times, one of them is close ~:thumb: Or it could be anyone who ask another question after this post, I have a bit objection if it continues from Tuff's question...~:)
I'm not good doing questions so the turn is for the next poster :)
Alright then. This question isn't that difficult, so we should get this game going again.
Question:
What or where is this?

OK. In honor of the recent agreement to get devolution back on track, name each of the Six Counties.
Only Finland has 6 counties only so I'll be naming them.
Southern Finland, Western Finland, Eastern Finland, Oulu, Lapland, Aland
Tyrone, Derry, Antrim, Armagh
that's all i can name without looking it up
I would like to retract my earlier answer and instead give the 6 counties of northern ireland:
Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Londonderry, and Tyrone.
Close but no cigar, though you get points for using Derry's proper name.Quote:

Tuff, no the position of the mountain is much more important than how high the mountain actually is above sea level
It's a mountain in Ecuador...
Hawaii
Nope
Chimborazo in the Andes
Yep, I bet you did a wiki search right? Your question
No actually, googled 'Highest mountain' and got a lucky hit.
:2thumbsup:
Highest capital in South America.
Easy.
La Paz?
i was so close with my mountain
Miles is correct.
What's the alternate name for Guatemala's second largest city?
Xelajú, the capital of the Maya's?
Close enough. Actually, modern day, it's just Xela, a.k.a. Quetzaltenango.Quote:

Arc de Triomphe
oh wait. That isn't Paris!
Now I have no idea....
It's in France. Verdun?
No, it's not Verdun, nor the arc the triomphe in Paris. Though of course I was hoping to get a gazillion indignified replies saying it was, with a "how can you think the arc the triomphe is not a well known monument" . ~;)
Alesia? Tours? gaaaaaaaaaa
Found it!
Not going to tell you guys but....
Notice the structure, and the difference from other arches.
The foliage.
Where it is situated.
Don't mind the flag.
Arcul de Triumf?
They look like dodgy Eastern European cars anyway...
And it certainly isn't the triumphal arch in Paris, well, not in Paris. Dacia maybe, who knows...
Yes, it is the Arcul de Triumf in Bucharest, where it ends the Unirii boulevard. Which - for such is the nature of petty dictatorships - is exactly one meter longer than the Champs-Elysées that leads up to the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile.

Somebody Else, where ya at?
Or should, er, somebody else ask aquestion?
I think somebody else should ask, I'm particularly lazy...
However, in keeping with the game,
Er...
Somewhere that, having declared war on Germany, was not on paper as having declared peace. A shifty river was involved, or something.
That question is kinda vague

Argh! godamnit! silly double posting mess up!
Not Wellington.
Want a Hint?
yeah ok, but i also said Darwin.
Oki, its not the city of Wellington in New Zelland.
Duke of Wellington is not a last name it is a Title.
And its not the City of Darwin in Australia either.
Oki I am going to give the Hint by restating the question:
What is the city that was named after a 19th century explorer and is located near one of the world's greatest natural wonders?
Alice Springs?
Albequerque, New Mexico, located near the Grand Canyon in the US. That's the only one I know of.
Livingstone, Zambia, near Vic falls.
Yes Sir that is it!Quote:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
7400 kilometers from Cape Town
7700 kilometers from San Francisico (Edit: not correct, it's 12000 kilometers)
16300 kilometers from Wellington
Which city?
Brisbane?
Brisbane? 16300 kilometers from Wellington? Maybe if you travel eastwards from New Zealand, but I've taken the shortest possible distances.
Are these distances overland? Or straight through..?
There seems to be flaw here, 7400 + 7700 = 15100 kilometers, while the shortest possible route (straight through) between Cape Town and San Francisco is 16500 km and nowhere near 15100 km...(I checked it on map)Quote:

Sorry 'bout that. The correct question is:
7400 kilometers from Cape Town
12000 kilometers from San Francisico
16300 kilometers from Wellington
Which city?
Distances are as the crow flies. I verified through a second source, and their distances varied a little bit, but not by more than a few hundred kilometers.
