Good idea on the tournament Braden. I have been thinking about doing one, seeing as my character is part of a Knightly Order and everything, but I won't have the time for it in the near future.

If you want to sponsor it In Character as Captain of the Order…i.e. a Tourny sponsored by the noble order itself…then I’ll be happy to do the writing up and organisation associated with it.
I will suggest that its not considered fully until this England/Crusade stuff is fully clear (i.e. we’ve either decided not to bother, been beaten by the Ai – yeah like! – or kicked the Brits out of France, taken London and handed it back)
Guess, as a Prince I can sponsor this IC anyway but I think as a Chivalric Order its best to come from us or the King.
Regarding the rushing of the AI, that's what Events are for IMO. They can be used to solve this problem in several ways. First, they can be used to buff up the AI to make it harder to exploit. Second, they can be used to encourage the players to attack in an unusual place or at a specific target that is far more challenging. Third, they can be used to encourge internal conflict, so that attention is focused more on internal issues than expansion.
Room for one more? :beam:
Elite... Yes, of course... We're looking for someone to take over Prince Charles which should be coming of age in about 2 years ( 3 turns ?)
Btw, I hope my lengthy post in the Conseil will have satisfied those who wished to hear more from their King...
I may not be on much next two days... So bear with me...
Tristan...you did pretty damn we as far as I'm concerned. :2thumbsup:
Indeed.
I think we have talked this through - Zim, when you are ready I suggest we follow the inimitable Duc of Bretagne:

Any objections to me starting a voting thread in a few hours?
I already have been keeping track of the legislation, and I haven't seen Zim around.
None here.
Time for the vote I think!
Is EF going to be my little brother? Gotta hire somebody to start watching my back...
Welcome back mate. :beam:
:egypt:
Poll is up, and it seems GH has immediately canceled out most of my votes. Democracy simply doesn't work.
Edit: Also, I'd like suggestions for any history worthy links from the Emergency Session.
Well, I do have a story coming that explains where Raynaud went after he left the Conseil. You might want to document the walkouts (even though they did happen before the session was called), and also the King's big posts.
Well, ahem, there were a lot of walkouts. :sweatdrop:
For your story, at the beginning you could post a link to Ray's walkout.
I spend n evening with my wife and then work one graeyard shift and voting polls are being posted without me, tsk, tsk... :clown:
Looks like a few new edicts were proposed while I was gone as well. Nice to see the emergency session was so productive.
THe younger Prince is available if you'd like him, EF.
Oh hey Zim, just trying to help out. . .:sweatdrop: I wasn't trying to usurp you or anything.
Curses, those knockout drops were supposed to have a longer duration. My diabolical plan to become Seneschal-for-life has been thwarted.
Voted!
I deliberately came up with 1.8to try and get us to have an IC reason to overstretch our resources and avatars. We stand to gain so much from this next phase that I thought a really significant challenge both financially and recruitment wise would be the best way to lengthen the game.
Besides a crusade against the Moors was being called for by some AND as no target has been given it can be as far away as you like!
When does the poll end ?
I set it to end two days from when it was posted. At the top of the poll it should say when it closes.
Prince Charles sounds good to me, those few turns will give me a chance to catch up :2thumbsup:
Could anyone give me a link to the rules for duels that we ended up using? There's nothing in the Rules Thread (hint, hint :clown:), and I don't want to take something from the pregame discussion without someone else confirming it for me.
The first post of the duelling brainstorming thread is what I consider to be the "final" version of the rules. TheFlax used a somewhat modified version of it for the tournament (e.g. introducing weapon variation). I've cut and paste them into the rules sticky - I think people understand that they are an optional mini-game rather than a part of the rules proper, but the sticky does seem to be the best place to house them.
Less than 2 hours for anyone who hasn't voted to decide how edicts 2 &3 make out. :snore:
Everyone feel free to check my math on the Election Results.
For influence I had the following:
Philippe: 5 (Authority from latest save)
Louis: 3 (1 plus 2 for being Prince)
Alain: 2 (1 plus 1 for completed Seneschal Term)
Hugues: 2 (1 plus 1 for having a Count, Bertin)
All other voters were at the minimum one influence.
E1.3 ended up tied, according to the rules it does not pass.
I will post a mini-report and then the save will be open.
I should have 2 influence since my new character married Constance, right?
I believe that changes whether a certain formerly tied edict passes or not...:smash:
I'd like to bring a point to your attention now that the Crusade is only a matter of turns.
I perfectly agree OOC that any avatar who wishes to join should be able to do so but IC, Philippe is not of the kind to fight with a full stack if there's noone to face him... Hence, I cannot see him assaulting London ith a eight or ten-strong avatar stack...
Tincow's solution seems the most sensible to me : have any avatar who wishes to join declare themselves and get the traits from the Successful Crsuade whether or not they've taken part in the final assault.
