Does RTW support widescreen resolutions? I just got a new monitor (haven't opened the box yet) and wonder if I'll have to deal with distortions due to improper resolutions for the monitor.

edit: re: Obama. I cannot see how someone can attend services and listen to sermons from a preacher for twenty years and a. not understand that preacher's position b. not agree with said preacher. I cannot vote for Obama because I cannot vote for a man who hates me because I am not black. I have an historical argument for why I am voting for McCain and why McCain should be elected, but I'll not continue to talk about politics in a seemingly non-political post (at least originally).

I've no problem with people voting for McCain at all; everyone is entitled to their opinion, but don't talk rubbish.

I don't want us to fall out over this Dhampir, but I refuse to accept that this is as cut and dried as Fox and their like would have people believe. If it's not idiots accusing him of being a Muslim one week, it's something else.

I'm not a right-winger and I don't care that Obama is black, only that he's the disciple of a virulent racist and he affirms his discipleship.

Eh. I don't allow political arguments to bleed off into any other discourses. They're in separate spheres as far as I am concerned.

I don't recall anyone credible inferring that he was Muslim, only reporting that someone else said it.

In Singapore at least, there are people going to a church just because 'it's the church I've always gone to.' Sad but true. 'Nuff said on my part.

On widescreen, in the advanced video options there IS a widescreen option. But based on my own experience (I have a widescreen laptop) it just stretches the 1024x768 picture into a 1200x768 picture. Not very creative, I'm afraid...

Thanks. I wasn't expecting true widescreen support from a game that is almost four years old. RTW is awesome, but its capabilities are showing their age.

BF 2142? I get kicked from games like that way too easy due to high latency. I pay for a 5 mbps cable line from Roadrunner but seldom achieve speeds faster than a 56k modem. Roadrunner says it's because every stupid little kid in the city is playing WoW and downloading pirated music and sucking up all the bandwidth--not their words, but it was the gist of it.

You really don't know the story behind the 'Skye Boat Song?' I've come to note that those of Scot decent are often given to the annoying habit of putting every little event to verse or song. Then they tend to want to venerate it forever. The boat in the song carries Prince Charlie, the lad born to be king, after leaving so many to die at Culloden. From Skye he fled to France to become a useless old drunk, yet many for generations continued to pin all hope on him. I figured it pointedly apropos to apply this little homily, given the current state of affairs.

Not that I've a horse in this particular race; as I certainly do not, yet I've been predicting correctly the out come, line by line, of the current preliminary election of our new 1st citizen for about a year. Now, my bloody friends are coming up to me and asking what will happen next. As if I actually know. Well in a sense I do, but thats another story altogether.

I simply stick to the story line, no mater how remote it seems, and each time somehow I'm proven right. Sometimes I even ask myself how the hell a given event could ever come to pass. I could tell you how the story goes, but not here, as I'm sure there are many, that won't want to hear it told. And... I really don't want to spoil the ending for you. I can tell you this, 'She'll win states where paper votes, while he'd take those that run the Caucus.' There is a reason for this, but you have to have a proper understanding of American Politics and its political history.

Isn't it great that there are so many new voters? I love it when I'm told this wee tip of an iceburg just doesn't exist. I'm pragmatic, not what one would want for the vote, but with such as those that run for office; how it is, how it was, and how it will always be. Indeed all politics are full of bull, but its for the comic or tragic story, thats why I pay to see the flicker show.

I don't know what you people are arguing all about. To me, as an outsider, it's obvious that this is a circus and the winner of the elections has already been decided. The campaign is only there to „steer” the public into voting the „right” person and make the people think it's for real. As for my evaluation of your 3 „leading” candidates, here it is: Hillary - a Clinton, life long friends with the Bushes => the presidency stays in the „family”; McCain - a nazi in disguise (though not a good disguise); Obama - either he's bought or he'll be powerless => he might be a release valve so the public doesn't get too suspicious. Your only good shot is Ron Paul (even if I'm what would be a Democrat in your country, aka Social Liberal)

As for that preacher, it's no wonder he said AIDS was man made, the have been accidentally declassified documents that suggest AIDS was man-made, but escaped confinement (probably helped by some people with interest, but population control rather than racism). Still, to me religion involves a whole lot of crap, and using it to further a political agenda is even crappier.

I can't see how McCain is a nazi. McCain is rather centrist compared to some right-wing nutjobs professing to be politicians in America. At least he's not a God-botherer like some of them.

First off, all Americans are nuts. Now that I´ve incured the wrath of some 300million people let´s get down to bussines.
In Sweden both Clinton, Obama and the entire Democratic party would be considered right-wingers, and the entire Republican party extreme right-wingers, the kind that you are a bit ashamed and shocked actually exists in your country.
This isn´t intended as a pun or offense to anyone, just goes to show how different things can be in different nations. For me, a true Swede who knows a bit about politics, it´s actaully rather worrying that the mightiest nation on Earth is going to be led by Clinton, Obama or Mcain. None of the other candidates would have made me happy either, but anyway.
The problem is I believe, that Americans are nuts beyond redemption.
Also, just about every damn country in the world is nuts, and Sweden is starting to become one of them, but I think we are still savable.
The only problem with my theory is that all those other nuts countries probably thinks I´m nuts, but they´re always wrong anyway, so who cares?
