Because of this, and my win conditions, my nearest allies were the incorruptible hero faction townies, and I unloaded all my information and notes to Captain Falcon before I went. I think that if he follows through and sticks to the plan, he will do nicely.
I knew you guys would have an itchy trigger finger when I was at work, so I told 4 people to tell you that I was at work and I knew you'd lynch me while I was away. Figures.
But anyway. Since I needed to get rid of Samus and Dark Samus, there was no real possibility of working with them, and that's why Dark Samus team backstabbed me immediately and why I couldn't trust Beskar when he wouldn't give up who Samus was. The only people I could have worked with were neutral or the corruptible townies. Well I suppose I could have worked with the mafia after I killed the Samuses, but why would they want to? I think that's what Beskar wanted to give me, but I find it less believable that there would have been follow-through.
I do not represent a faction, as far as I know. I would show up as different from "neutral" because I was a SK with an unusual vic, but I was not anti-town. I was anti-Samus, as you'll see after the game is done.
I think the fact that I directed Falcon to the defense of both Seon and God Emperor, and how quickly I gave up Beskar and how I pointed the finger at Renata based off of just an activity scan tells you what my intentions were. It doesn't really matter if you believe me here or not; I won't be contributing further as I know a bit too much.
I am currently rooting for Falcon and the town, as they are the only team so far that has impressed me. I am considerably less impressed by being lynched, that was a horrible decision. I could have withstood no less than 2 night attacks, sparing 2 additional townies at night, and I would have ramped up the pressure until they were forced to kill me, or I would have killed them. I also told Captain Falcon what ability I gained which would have guaranteed I destroyed them, but I can't say here.
You guys also could have stolen my abilities or copied them, that was silly that you didn't do that before I went. I even suggested it to Falcon and everyone I considered townie.
People whose opinions I ordinarily respect really bungled this game by advocating my lynch. :stare: Town was headed directly toward a win. Now Samus has breathing room, congrats on that.
However, I do want to give a shout-out to Pikachu, who is totally doomed. If town doesn't catch you, then you deserve the win. Underdog and all that. Besides, your team got shafted pretty hardcore by scans. It's only fitting.

Until my intervention, you were either working with the Bowser posse, or being played by them. After that, to accuse townies of bungling the game by lynching you is outrageous.

I protest the use of the term backstab. It is not possible to backstab someone that is actively trying to kill you; the proper term is acting in self-defense.

Your intervention? You hadn't put any pressure on Beskar whatsoever, while I had been saying the whole game that Beskar probably knew a Samus mafioso.
It was only until I pressured you that you put the question to Beskar why he had a killing power, and it wasn't until I pressured Beskar that anything happened with him.
You were sitting on information you were doing nothing with, likely waiting to be recruited.
I stand by my comments. It's only because you died before you got recruited that your actions could look positive; honestly it looked like you were wanting to go mafia.

True enough. That's why I bear no ill-will to you for doing what you felt was right.
Still, you only made me want to kill Dark Samus faster. And I did! :clown:

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
It's might be useful to have the recruit mechanic from rubicon as a reference*:
Quote:
(4) Adrogation (Recruit) - If there are no Caesarian Legates alive, you can anonymously recruit any living player who has elimination of the Optimates faction as an optional victory condition. If they accept, this will permanently change that player’s role into that of a Caesarian Legate. If they decline, this will permanently remove the option to eliminate the Optimates faction from that player’s victory conditions, thus forcing them to eliminate all Caesarians and Pompeians in order to win. This ability may not be used more than twice during the game, even if it is used by different Caesarian Dictators. If this ability is used on a player that does not have elimination of the Optimates faction as an optional victory condition, it will operate as a normal Veritas action, and will not count against the twice per game limit.
Quote:
Special Ability:
(1) Cursus Honorum (Promotion) – If at any point the Caesarian Dictator dies, your role will permanently change to that of Caesarian Dictator. If multiple Caesarian Legates are alive when this happens, the promotion will be determined randomly.
Pompei worked the same way. However, according to TinCow in this game anyone can be recruited and it happens against their will.
I hope though that there is no equivalent of the "cursus honorum" ability if that's the case, or that there is some other limitation on it. But it seems likely from a balance perspective that the pikachu team can no longer recruit. And that the samus team will not be able to recruit more than twice.
*Note, this isn't any kind of reply to...whatever it is that's going on in the thread now...

I'm shocked by how little you know me if you think I actually wanted to be converted, and by how poorly you understood my actions if you thought that could possibly be their goal.

To those that don't read the frontroom. Its likely I will have to evacuate due to biggest floods in 200 years or something.
If I do, and possibly even if I dont, internet access may be sporadic.

Wait, wasn't it my vote that caused you to be lynched?
But I'm guessing you weren't talking about me when you said "people whose opinions I ordinarily respect", hmmm?

It was simple enough. You lied through your rear-end in an attempt to get me lynched and get Pizza to turn on me, by suggesting I was Samus. Unfortunately, if Pizza didn't believe your lie about the 'Plasma Cannon', I would still be alive.

Technically every vote that landed on me caused my lynch. No more one person than another. But yeah, mostly referring to peeps who were more concerned with bringing me down than Samus, even though that isn't their victory conditon.

Except it wasn't a lie. And I never suggested you were Samus.

Except it is a lie, as I didn't have that ability. Why would I even make up something like that, or even continue it, when it has no bearing on how the game plays out. So there is absolutely no advantage or disadvantage to admitting you came up with a lie in an attempt to take me down.
As for the Samus thing, only Samus or a Samus-like character would ever have an ability like that. We all know that I am not that.

I was talking to pizza in private before he was lynched.
I don't know how much you all trust me, but I think he was telling the truth.

If people want to disagree with my opinion that I'd be useful (I honestly think I would have been.... seriously) and with the fact that I could have won with the town and nearly did (will be indisputable after the game) that's their business. It ultimately doesn't matter; I merely am stating my position for the record, and that's done now.
As I said I know too much about this game now so I am bowing out. Will watch with enthusiasm and root for my champions.
Never give up, trust your instincts, and all that good stuff. Keep your eyes on the prize, don't be distracted.
I'm going to cease being a distraction right..... now.

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
Night 5
That night, the crew of the GFS Olympus was tired after a long lynching. Most of them went to sleep, but there were always some who remained awake during the night hours.
One such crew member was K. G. Misawa, the Recon Scout for the GF’s 07th Platoon.
Misawa knew that he would have a distinct tactical advantage if he moved quickly and silently and stuck to the shadows- and being a scout, that was something Misawa tended to be good at doing.
What Misawa didn’t realize was that he was heading dangerously close towards the Docking Bay in his corridor choice. He didn’t realize this, of course, until it was already too late. He entered through a doorway that led into a large, wide-open space. There was no back wall to the room; it was open space, blocked by a force field. And in the center of the floor was a large, orange gunship. It unmistakably belonged to the Hunter.
Misawa, noticing he was in a rather dangerous section of the ship, turned around to quickly head back where he came from. In doing so, he bumped into a being in orange armor.
Misawa panicked and stumbled backwards, and began to plead for his life.
“Wait, Samus! Don’t you remember, it’s me, K. G.! We were friends in the Academy!”
The Hunter paid his words no attention and began to step menacingly forward, with her gun pointed at the trooper’s chest.
“Please! We can work something out! You can’t do this!”
The Hunter continued to walk forward as Misawa continued to back away. Suddenly, the trooper panicked and started firing his gun wildly. The rounds were no doubt chipping away at her energy, but they were largely insignificant the Hunter paid them no mind, beginning to charge up a swirling mass of dark energy in her arm cannon.
With a sudden lunge, the Hunter wrenched the gun out of Misawa’s grip and pushed him to the ground. Pointing her arm cannon straight at him, she fired at point-blank range. Misawa screamed as he was swallowed up by the dark vortex.
-----------------------------------
A figure in jet-black armor, with a faceplate that glowed bright red, strode down the halls of the Crew’s Quarters. It stopped when he had reached his destination: a half-open doorway. The figure powerfully kicked the door so that it slammed into the wall.
Inside, the hero Link had been sleeping quite peacefully, but was jolted awake by this rude gesture.
It was dark in the room, and his eyes were still unaccustomed to the light. Frustrated, he got up and tried to figure out where his enemy was, then yelled when he saw the red glow.
“HYAH!”
The dark figure chuckled.
“Oh, I wouldn’t worry too much. I’ll be the last thing you see… before I erase you from existence!”
The armored warrior fired a blast of charged light energy from his gun directly at Link, but to its surprise, it was reflected directly back at it and struck it in the chest. Link held up his trusty Mirror Shield and grinned. Then he pulled the Master Sword out of its sheathe and began advancing on the dark figure.
Realizing this was a mismatch, the dark-armored warrior turned around and beat a quick retreat down the corridor. Link was about to chase after him, but he was still kind of sleepy, so he lay back down on the bed and passed out.
--------------------------------------------------
Knuckles the Echidna was out at night doing what he did best: hunting for treasure.
It didn’t matter that there probably wasn’t a whole lot of treasure to be found on this ship; Knuckles was just sick of not being able to fight his enemy on even terms. Perhaps the “treasure” he would find would come in the form of finding a secret passageway leading directly to the Hunter herself. For some reason, though, he couldn’t shake the feeling that everyone else on the ship was watching him.
Eventually, Knuckles came to a small doorway. He might have missed it entirely if he weren’t purposefully looking for something- it seemed to just blend into the wall. Taking a peek into the alcove, he was taken aback by the large, glowing orb he found inside it.
Before he could touch the orb, though, it floated up and into the corridor. The Echidna was mesmerized; it reminded him of his Master Emerald back home.
Suddenly, a large, humanoid body began to form around the orb, leaving it exposed at the center. The creature growled at Knuckles in a booming voice, and he was surprised and jolted by it. Then he readied his fists.
The creature looked slow and lumbering, but it actually moved quickly. Knuckles was barely able to jump out of the way as a massive appendage slammed down in front of him, threatening to crush him.
No matter what maneuvering he used, Knuckles could not get at the creature, for it always had a spare appendage to defend itself with- and with his short arms, Knuckles needed to get in really close to attack.
The creature slammed the ground with both of its attacking appendages, and Knuckles leaped into the air in between them. Diving forward, he struck the exposed glowing orb with his spiked fist. The creature roared in rage, and released a pulse of energy that knocked Knuckles away from it. Then the orb began glowing so brightly that it was hard for Knuckles to see. The creature released a massive amount of energy, engulfing the entire corridor.
Knuckles was completely obliterated; there weren’t even ashes left over.

Okay, really? I'm mafia-killed AGAIN? Just after dying in Seon's NOTW?

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
I am back from my second vacation, which was somewhat tied to the first.
I think for my sake and that of the fora, I should remain within the Main Hall and venture out only to post in the Gameroom...
Now I am very behind and I have no idea of what the titles of those who have been killed mean, and I am very surprised that I haven't been WOGed.
Nonetheless, I enrolled in the game, I'm still in it, so I will do everything in my power to ensure my side wins.
Which is not very much at all.
I'm going to sit back and read instead of voting for now - if anyone values my vote enough and has the time, I would appreciate very much a summary of who is thought to be who and why.
----
Question: Why isn't pevergreen dead yet? That is very strange (No, no intentional offense pever - you just don't usually survive so long...)
Maybe the mafia are being nice to him since he lives in a flooded city (Good luck pever).
