Here are some pictures I've taken in the past couple of weeks from 3 different levels of American football:

In the next day or two I'm post some pictures of things happening off the field at these games.
Sasaki Kojiro: old on ytmnd, but that "universal" comparison is still extremely pwnage, isn't it?

This is Pont Cyntefin, near Sennybridge. The bridge was widened in 2002 and still is only wide enough for one vehicle. I painted this while enjoying a late summer picnic with my wife. We were treated to a mink fishing in front of the first arch for about 10 minutes

Wow, Orda. I'm impressed. Very nice painting. Is that water colour?
Thanks Gregoshi, yes it's watercolourQuote:

Great pics, Greg - I especially like the picture of the father (I guess) and his son sitting on the grass ~:)

Ser, you certainly have an eye for finding great camera angles and framing. The picture of the statue of Dante is particularly striking to me with the white marble of the statue and the building contrasting with a beautiful deep blue sky. Palazzo Pitti - awesome. Campo Santo - great image. The steet shots are beautifu too. :2thumbsup:
@ Gregoshi:
Is that that PSU football? I'll be at beaver stadium in a couple of weeks to watch Michigan Whomp them. :2thumbsup:
Ser:
This pictures are absoultely breathtaking. Good job. ~
just messing around with Picture It, don't have PS which is a real pity.

Maine Coon kitties for the win :) I'll have to get my hands on a digital camera and post some of my cat for your edification.
On Monday I had a few hours to do as I pleased in downtown Philadelphia. So me and my camera explored the city.
The first few images feature reflections.

The famous "Love" sculpture. Some time during the morning hours, the pink colour was added to the fountain water. My guess is that it was done because October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Lastly, while walking around the city, I couldn't help but notice unusual activity in the skies. A pair of helicopters where engaged in some rather close maneuvers amongst the skyscrapers. Later in a different part of the city I finally saw the mysterious black chopper close enough to see the markings on it...note the person sitting out the side with a gun(!!):
https://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h...iaOct06_88.jpg
A few moments after finally getting an ID on the chopper, I looked across the street and saw several FBI agents with black helmets, body armour and M16s! Something was afoot and I was alarmingly close to it. After a few moments of gathering visual clues and then walking up and asking someone associated with the activity, I learned that I was witnessing filming for the movie Shooter (aka Shooters) starring Mark Wahlberg. Alas I saw neither Mark or any other celebrity I knew. All in all great end to an interesting day.
Wow ... great pics - I absolutely love the first one, Greg !
What kind of lense and resolution were you using for the pic of the helicopter?
Thanks Ser. Of the pictures I took that day, the first one is my favourite too. I first saw that image while crossing a street and I nearly stopped dead in my tracks. Fortunately I found the same angle safely on the sidewalk on the other side of the intersection.
About the helicopter, I have a 12x optical zoom on my digital camera and I was shooting at 2560x1920 resolution, so it was a big image to begin with. Even after cropping out a lot of the original, I still had a decent sized image with just the helicopter.
@Ice: Yes that is Penn State football. Enjoy your visit to Happy Valley on the 14th. The atmosphere should be electric. Alas, I could go to the game too, but my kids are performing in a concert that night, so I must do the family thing instead. It is a shame that I can't be there because my seats are in the same part of the stadium that the visitors sit and we could have met for at least a few minutes.
'Tis concert season once again and the teenagers from the Philadelphia area rockin' and a rollin' with talent that has to be heard to be believed.

God do I love concerts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice pics Gregoshi
Nice pictures again Greg. Yours as well ser.
I've done quite a few concertpictures myself lately, I'm starting to love it as well ~D.
The School of Rock also had their "Best of Season" concert this past weekend which showcases the two best songs from each show put on by the 5 Philadephia area branches of the school. As part of the show they get celebrity rock stars to play some songs with the kids. In the past they got Peter Frampton to play with the young rockers. For this past weekend they had two celebrities.
(BTW, the main spotlights were yellowish-orange, hence the odd coloration on many of the pictures)
Brad Roberts, lead singer of The Crash Test Dummies:

George Lynch, former lead guitarist and "uber schredder" from the group Dokken. George did a long guitar solo which was absolutely amazing and then performed Pink Floyd's Time with the kids - utter amazing!
