Re: Basileus' and Chancellors Reports
Done, continuing training march/ patrol.
As for the public order issue in my Capitol, I have found that the most inexpensive solution would be to build a simple drainage (1000 m'nai) to alleviate squalor. To temporarily curb the situation, I have moved a syntagma of infantry from my army to the city to keep order until the situation is resolved. I also have reports of sizable devastation near my southeastern border, my patrol will investigate the situation next season and take any action necessary. This may reduce unrest in the city. (see SOT build queue.)

Re: Basileus' and Chancellors Reports
I would ask that the Chancellor move the First Lydian army, along with myself, to Ipsos for retraining. I would do it myself, but I've been very busy lately with schoolwork and I have barely any spare time on my hands. Thank you.

Sure, I'll do this, as far as our treasury allows.
(I take it as giving the control to Sarpedon, and squeeze it through the rules that way. If it's still not allowed, please stop me I-K. :sweatdrop:)
Edit: Oh, and sorry for posting that here. I... forgot, and anyway, he started it! ~;)

Polyxenidos Lykikos have got a very good start. The Babylonian have some good scouts with him and thus they lead the 'Race to Jerusalem'. He is the first one to enter Tadmor. Arrhenides Gedrosianos is not very far behind though. He and his Galatians forced others to march more than usual and are just few miles from the Lykikos Army. Alexandros Syriakos and the combined forces of Attalos Pergamou Mysiakes and Timarchos Anaias Mysiakes are almost next to each other. There is some distance between them and the two in lead but it's not that impossible to catch them in the next season. The most unlucky one is Bithys Nisaias Parthiakes. Having stayed too long to admire the old ruins in Babylon he missed the leave of the others. Now he is far behind and looks like it will take some time before he catches the others.
OOC: TCV could you also add 8902 mnai to the treasure when you take the save. Forgot to add the upkeep cost.
------
Moved the Syrian Army units from Tarsos towards and Aratos with his units to Antiocheia.
I moved some units(3 phalangitai, thureophoroi, peltastai) from the Lydian Army to Ipsos. It would be nice if Chancellor could retrain them.

Chancellor report, Summer 269 BCE
Raised taxes even further.
Simple Drainage has been constructed in Hecatompylos as advised by Phanias Lydikes. The construction of Basic Farming in Ipsos and roads in Side has also been started.
The units from the Lydian army sent into Ipsos by Antiochos has been retrained.* I moved my own Royal Army to Sardis, and the AH to Side.
On another note, despite being allies, a sizeable Pontic army has entered my satrapy, and it looks like it's moving towards Ipsos.
In foreign affairs, the SPQR has signed a peace treaty with Epeiros.

I have moved the Lydian army, as well as Strategos Ankyrikos, as he has requested to travel with the army, towards the city of Halikarnassos. Please note that the city of Ipsos is now without a garrison, and if it doesn't revolt, it may be taken by Pontos. The Satrap's army is nearby in Sardis.

Done, engaged a force of bandits (see battle reports). Set up a fortified winter camp so that we may pass the winter in as much comfort as possible, as the army will not be able to return to the city before the winter begins.

Alexandros Syriakos have been the fastest this season. He forced his men to march faster and his army is camped next to Polyxenidos Lykikos' army. The combined forces of Timarchos Anaias Mysiakes and Attalos Pergamou Mysiakes have passed the others and are moving fast over the vast desert towards the target. Bithys Nisaias Parthiakes is almost catching up Arrhenides Gedrosianos. Parthiakes managed to borrow some horses from the locals and advanced towards Hierosolyma almost as fast as Syriakos. Gedrosianos however was not so lucky. Many of his men became ill after drinking water from an old well and thus he had to make a camp and wait till his men get better.
Added 8902 mnai to the treasure.
-------
Moved Prodromoi unit to the fort north of Hekatompylos.
Also moved the remaining units of Syrian Army to Antiocheia. If possible, then I ask that the Chancellor would retrain them.
Sarpedon can also move Asiatikoi Hippakontistai unit from Side to his Satrapy.

Re: Basileus' and Chancellors Reports
Chancellor Report, Autumn 269 BCE
I have ordered the construction of quite a few buildings. In Antiocheia-Margiane, the governor will be pleased to know that his house is being expanded, and for the people in Alexandreia-Ariana there will be a bigger temple to Seleukos (which, besides improving pulbic order, should bring in some more taxes). Prophthasia will be getting homes for military settlers and last, but not least, Babylon will see some improved farming in a not too distant future - something they've been bugging me about for some time. The building of roads in Side has been finished.
In other news am pleased to report that the Pontic army that entered our lands last season has now also left it, moving towards Nikaia. In other words, Antiochos' decision proved wise, and no engagement had to be made.
As it has been brought to my attention that there must be enemy spies operating within Asaak, I have begun the creation of a network of spies there to flush them out.
I, myself, has taken my Royal Army and left Sardis, and am currently besieging Pergamon. My Asiatikoi Hippakontistai are halfway to Sardis.

I'm making this brief today.
Arrhenides Gedrosianos forced his men march and in the end it payed off. They are currently in the second place. Alexandros Syriakos have advanced pretty well. He is currently in the lead. The Mysiakes duo, like the men call their Commanders, are a bit ahead of Polyxenidos Lykikos who after some wrong turns, those damn arab scouts, found the right path again and managed to be a little bit better than Bithys Parthiakes, who is just couple of miles behind Lykikos.
Added 8902 to the treasure. It is the upkeep of the Event units.
Also, I'm open for sabotage attempts for the next turn. Just send me PM where you mention who you want to sabotage. Just remember, this might come out!

Re: Basileus' and Chancellors Reports
Chancellor report, Winter 269 BCE
Not much Chancellor work to talk about here. Populations quiet, builders working, but no spent mnai. The world has become wiser, though, and now call us the most advanced faction in the world.
Spies were uncovered in Sidon, but unfortunately they escaped our blades. At least they're no longer there to spread unrest any more.
In other news, the garrison of Pergamon decided to sally, but were defeated by Sarpedon Syriakos, who, for the sake of public order, were forced to enslave the population. The victory came at a heavy cost though, and the Asiatikoi Hippakontistai came too late for the battle, but have finally joined the remnants of the Royal Army. A report from the battle will come tomorrow.

Re: Basileus' and Chancellors Reports
This seasons most interesting news is the alliance of Arrhenides Gedrosianos and Alexandros Syriakos. They have decided to head towards Hierosolyma together. However, the merger of armies took too long and they did not advanced much this season. They still are ahead of the others though. Polyxenidos Lykikos marched long. For a second it seemed that they are in lead but founding a abandoned camp site they realized they are still behind the others. The Mysiakes duo took a wrong turn and are passing the Palmyra from north. The last one is Bithys Parthiakes. The Gods have not been kind to him. They did not managed to repeat the last seasons fast movement and are the last. If he wishes to get to Palestine before the others he really needs the Favour of the Gods.

Moved the last Cavalry units for the Parthavan Satrap Army south of Hekatompylos.

Re: Basileus' and Chancellors Reports
Chancellor Report, Spring 268 BCE
A little more (non-violent) action this season than the last. New buildings in construction is a temple to Atargatis in Side, a greater governor's mansion in Ekbatana and a wooden palisade in Hekatompylos. The MIC for foreigners is also being expanded in Mazaka. In Ipsos, the construction of basic farming has completed, and the city prospers and grows once again. A new government has been successfully installed in Salamis, and a temporary military government is in place in Pergamon.
The Syrian army in Antiocheia has been retrained, as were the Peltastai and Toxotai from my own Royal Army. The rest, including myself, got improvements to their equipment.
In foreign affairs, the Pontic army that was seen moving towards Nikaia has taken a beating and retreated back into our lands. There should be no reason to fret, as they're most likely to leave our lands as quickly as they came. Pontos has also gone to war against Epeiros.
But there is some bad news too: we only held on to the title as the most advanced nation for one season! The new name on everyone's lips are now the Karthadastim.
