Re: Rules Discussion and Confirmation Thread
I dunno. It's not like anyone ever does it, and it would be a delightful historical crime to blow up Persepolis/Stonehenge/The Parthenon.
Re: Rules Discussion and Confirmation Thread
Yeah, I vote nay on that as well. We should be allowed to do that as much as we please. I don't see any reason why we shouldn't.
How about this rule now: if a player is to fight another player, they can fight an MP battle to decide it if they can get it done within 24 hours from when the save was put up. Currently people have that long to make their turns anyway, so it's not like this would raise the maximum hold-up for the game, and I think it's really worth the trade off. Some unit types (like, chariots, phalanxes and horse archers) aren't evaluated correctly in autoresolve. They have more/less impact than they should have. :shame:
Re: Rules Discussion and Confirmation Thread
i agree with viking on both topics.

Hax just do add_money -2700 so you get 3000mnai again.
Upload the save(you already did that)
Play on.
PS: I forget the CAMPAIGN_SCRIPT.TXT. Fixed that now so we can play on!
No, Skullheadhq im sorry but you have to retake your turn. Not just money scripts were edited in the CAMPAIGN_SCRIPT.txt. MANY MANY things were added and changed...most importantly region placement (Homeland, etc.)
If you dont retake your turn the game will be screwed up for the rest of us permanately. Ill give u another 24 hours.

Or would I be really too late ~:(
Not too late at all, let me just make a new genericScript.txt. Make sure you can commit some time to this also because I prefer live players. Also, make sure you live and breath my setup instructions. Dont download that genericScript yet as it is not edited for the Sweboz yet.

First off Id like to say I love the idea of fighting battles via MP. Actually, instead of MP you can make a historical battle at the exact location and the exact units, then script in the casualties manually to the game itself. I played a hotseat where such thing occured with great results.
Unfortunatley, even the 24 hour thing is hard to accomplish. Someone like me, who only gets on on the weekends or for an hour or two a night (school then wieght lifting and girls thrown in the mix :dizzy:) wouldn't be able to manage such a "feat". If you guys all want it, sure go ahead. I am just saying that I wont be able to partake in these battles about 90% of the time, and im sure im not the only one. Also, troops gain much less experience this way. Test it..autocalcing grants better troops.
Time is the biggest enemy to such an idea, and while a great one, I don't think it would work very well at all :no:
Re: Rules Discussion and Confirmation Thread
Yes I know, which is why I put in "if it can be played". If you don't have time then you don't have time, and that's it. My rule was purely meant to mean that if you do have the time and opportunity, you should be able to do it. (Currently it's just auto-resolve.)
Re: Rules Discussion and Confirmation Thread
hi I've been given this link by a fellow EB MP and was wondering if it wasn't to later to ask to join if not could I be the Sauromatae

I have followed all instructions up to step 16 - the genericScript.txt. Will finish it as soon as I get your green light.

Yes, just follow the setup instructions in the first post of this thread and tell me when you are ready.

Good. I will generate the script right before your turn or something. Right now I am focusing on an..issue..that is causing the whole game to lag behind.

You may still need to go check your EBBS_SCRTPT.TXT and put a ";" right before the "Section 2h: Sweboz Reform", so it looks like this below:
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
;Section 2h: Sweboz Reform
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
otherwise you may not run the EB background script in game
(PS: no space between the ";" i don't know how that happened)

Imma just gonna follow TruePraetorian's instructions since he's running the PBEM :yes:
In any case, I seriously doubt my poor Sweboz will ever get to their reforms, what with them nasty Gauls sitting right on my doorstep :hide:
Can't wait to get started though!
