That's what it says in the files, maybe someone else can confirm that this is indeed the correct spelling.

(I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the Dosidataskeli in the collection.)
Strange, when I print them they are exactly the right size. Make sure you download them and then open them in a paint program rather than printing them directly from the net. That might help.

Check the new COMPLETE Western Greek cards.

Eheh. In any case, beautiful work on the unit cards, I'm very much looking forward to the recruitment zone card backs! The moment I get my hands on a halfway decent colour printer, oooh..
Oh, and on another note, the Ptolemaic cards seem to be lacking the required MIC level indicators..

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Arkatreides, AS can't build Pantodapoi Phalangitai in Memphis. Just wanted to tell you this, because I have just conqueredit in my campaign. Did you conquer everything from Baktria to Egypt or why did you think baktria can recruit them there?

AS cannot, Baktria can. This is in all likelihood a mistake in the EDB. I just assumed all factions had the same recruitment regions.
And yes, I conquered everything that is on that map, but that map is very much Work in Progess.

Not any more ~;), check out the complete Eastern Greek set!

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Arkatreides. Did you know that the Ptolemies share all their different african elephant types, the Aithiopian Agema and Nubian spearmen with the Sabyn? They also share the Galatikoi Kleruchoi and if I remember correctly the Iudaoi Taxeis.
Atleast the Ethiopian units and the elephants are recruitable trough the Sabyn factional MIC so why is their faction icon missing from the cards.

Because the Sabyn are not an Eastern Greek faction. They will get their own cards once I do the African set.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Thanks for the info. Great job on the unit cards. Any idea when you will add recruitment zones to the cards. It gets annoying using cheats just to find out what you can recruit in what province. Trying to work it out from the EDB is next to impossible.
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Recruitment zones will be done soon. One of the issues is that some borders between regions are to be redrawn and as such any major project that involves the map would be invalidated fairly quickly. We are currently looking at the best way to present the map, but for the time being I will have to wait for the map to be finalized in order to do any major work on the recruitment zones.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Passing on a few typos and other questions pezhetairoi has, being stuck in camp with a set of unit cards.. xD
- 'Thureophoroi' spelt as 'Theurophoroi' in the unit description
- '..they can still be usefull in any battle line.' Typo in Hoplitai description.
- Shouldn't Spendonetai have 80 per unit instead of 60?
Yup. :beam:

Re: The EB:Collectible Unit Card Project
There`s a mistake with the Hoplite unit, in the Western Greek zone:
https://img182.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wg2zs3.jpg
That unit may be trained by Makedonia, Epeiros and KH, but they have only got the KH banner in the backgroud.
Other than that, it`s a great and useful work!!!
Cheers!

You are correct, but not in a native/factional MIC. It only appears as a factional unit for KH, for Epeiros and Makedonia it is a regional unit (as indicated by the 'R' in the lower left corner). Since it is impossible to list every faction that can recruit regional units (Hoplitai are recruitable by every single faction), this is the system I settled on.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
So the question remains, how do we see at a glance all the factions that can recruit a unit, either in a regional OR a native MIC? The answer is here:
https://img185.imageshack.us/img185/...apview2zk4.jpg
In the new format, the back of the cards will contain all that information.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
I drool at that very appealing shade of green. Very nice system you have, Arka! Wonderful stuff. And thanks Karielle for helping me pass on the typos! XD I've started memorising the unit card stats, I am so fascinated by them (and bored in camp). So far Western Greek, KH and Makedonia done, Qarthadastim WIP! Are you currently doing the recruitment zones?
-

I am doing both the recruitment zones and finishing off the missing cards. So far all the units for Western and Eastern Greek factions are complete. The African factions (Qarthadast and Sabyn) are almost complete, as is Rome.
The next one to be completed is the Celtic (Casse, Arverni, Aedui) lot - that should be complete next week.
The recruitment zones will take a little longer but you should start seeing some of them crop up soon. I will probably start with the most commonly asked about units (e.g. Akontistai, Spendonetai, Toxotai) and do the more obvious ones later.
As for the typos, thanks for pointing those out. I am merely copying and pasting the short description that is in-game so these typos are even more fundamental.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Don't forget the Lusotana!
Just a suggestion, but perhaps it would be a nice idea if you were to add another set of MIC dots, in a different colour at the bottom of the picture perhaps, to denote the regional MIC level needed to build it for non-factional units? Unless they differ from faction to faction... *ponders*
And, keep up the good work! I'm rooting for you! And i seriously wish I could help, if only I didn't have to be in the army wasting two years of my life...

In 99% of the cases if a unit can be recruited from a factional MIC at level X it also can be recruited from a regional MIC at the same level. E.g. check the Hoplitai, they can be recruited from a tier 3 factional MIC for the HK. Every other faction can recruit them from a tier 3 regional MIC.
There are a few exceptions, e.g. the Peltastai who seem to wary between MIC 2 and MIC 3 depending on the faction. If you look closely at the Eastern Greek Peltastai unit, you will see that one of the MIC icons is greyed out. This represents exactly that phenomenon, i.e. for some factions it is a MIC 2 unit, for others MIC 3. Unfortunately there just isn't enought real estate on the cards to elaborate which factions correspond to which MIC, but as I said, this happens VERY rarely anyway.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Wow, you really consider everything, don't you? Long live you! Okay I'm reassured now. :D
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Ok, here is the deal for recruitment regions. I really want to focus on getting the fronts for all the units done first, but I also appreciate the need for the recruitment regions. So for the time being I will be making those on demand only. If someone really really absolutely needs a recruitment region, I will try to get that done. But please try not to overwhelm me with requests that aren't totally necessary. Also just to keep this sensible, I will restrict this to 3 requests per user for the time being with a right to veto them if I think the region is too obvious (If you ask for the Spartan Hoplite recruitment map, you will get a :smash: !)
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Well, I second that, then. No hurry about the recruitment regions, go all out on the units! I can't wait to see the barbarian ones :D I just bought a hundred blank name cards to prepare backing up the next lot of cards you come up with...
[EDIT] You haven't corrected the Camillan Equites Romani saying they are Polybian cavalry yet... Just a reminder in case you forget about it...

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Recruitment regions of kleruchikoi Phalangitai would be very nice, but I strangely think Seleucids can recruit them in more regions than the Ptolemies...
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Galatikoi Kleruchoi recruitment zones would be nice. Playing against the Ptolies in 0.80 had them crawling all over the place. Egypt, Asia Minor, the Levant. Just how darn big is their recruitment zone?

A quick glance at the Ammonion region proves you wrong.
