The Tsar is not pleased with Sweden putting troops near our border..
Build a fort don't get it set-up like an invasion....I may need to militarize near there now:inquisitive:
@greyblades, i know :wink:
really a good move on your part to be honest not like you really need anymore land.....
I understand France has an objective to get the hexes I just got from Spain. I can't realistically hold these territories so I am amenable to giving them to France for next to nothing, presuming it keeps me on good terms with France.
Switzerland wants land so we aren't a tiny dot, but we don't seek war.
That and the only place I can take without fighting someone I dont want to fight will probably get me excomunicated.
Yeah, really. ATPG is gonna go Blitzmaster on us if we're not careful. :laugh4:
Oh, and I am in agreement with Russia. Sweden's troops are getting a little too close to foreign borders... :brood:
dont think the pope factors into this game.......
and pizza, dont give the lands up for nothing.....
White_eyes, I would like to ask you to trust my armies on your southern border, I will infringe none on your land, and if our troops should happen to attempt to acquire the same spot, I would like to ask that we talk it out before doing battle
Pope's been powerless for years. You all know it, even Spain.
England has little to comment on at this time, this has been a good year! A wonderful time for all nations.
we offer a hardy cheer to Bohemia in its fight for independence!
King James
Ah right, Greyblades, you are Spain, correct? Perhaps you can quell those moslems that keep bothering you instead.
No one expects the Spanish Inquistition!
Ha! I can bribe the inquisitors!

All PM's have been sent.
Btw, I will add links to all Chapters to the first post.
No, Pope is not in game.Quote:
Seeing as this is mainly a war over religion I dont think attacking the grand poobah is a good idea.

No, Pope is not in game.
Oh, well, something to work at I guess.
Ibn, would I be able to get a copy of my economic and PO maps? I'd like to see where I stand after all my construction last turn.
im sort of surprised savoy didnt try to expand at all......
Maybe they did, but Pizza blocked them off before they could try.
And seriously, if you put your port 1 hex NE you could have traded with 2 regions. FAILURE.
I am stinking Rich now..:toff:
And me and Sweden have an agreement..:shakehands:
Portugal now has trade agreements with England, Spain, Denmark, Poland-Lithuania and Austria and we have sent emissarys to Savoy requesting trade.
If France, The Ottomans, Sweden, The Netherlands or Saxony are planning on building ports we would also like to discuss trade with you. All involved in these trade agreements look set to become quite rich.
You have to border sea regions before you can trade with anyone. The only region you touch has Spain to both sides.
That's a no-go, unless you pull a "vanilla" and invade Ireland.
Trade doesn't give much money I notice....:juggle2:
My land mass and city's give me way more cash....I think for someone like Portugal trade is really good.....but I would hate to be next to Spain:sweatdrop:
Oh didn't know that
I'm bordering tons of sea regions, so I can trade with everyone?
Sure, just build a port and I'll be happy to trade...
Bohemia is landlocked, but mark my words, we will find a way to get to the sea! We will invent rivers, most likely!
Otherwise, we will force a path through Austria unless they give us our independence!
Since you are landlocked. Conquer some hexes bordering the sea and build port. Then you will see that trade is really worth it.
I'll send them soon.Quote:

EDIT: Could someone tell me were those last turn report PM's easy to read? Or were they too complicated?
I want to make them as simple as I can so that you, players, could enjoy the diplomatic side of the game and not get overwhelmed by the information you receive with each report.
saxony understands ports but we had more important things to do. We notice the stinking moslems made no ports or cities
As far as I know you made no public claim to the land, and it wasn't owned by anyone. If you didn't want to negotiate with me over the land, sign a peace accord, a trade agreement, or even stake a claim, it doesn't make much sense to me that you'd use this as an excuse to raise a big army. No one would see any aggression here as legitimate, so perhaps instead of threats (tactful and understated though they may be ) we could discuss what is troubling you. I do have grounds to be there as it was unclaimed territory, first come first served. And I didn't expand all the way south to get a port like I wanted to do, I expanded radially and in all directions, as you can see. It wasn't intended to slight you.
If you are concerned with the unit of Swiss armed forces that is presently on your border, that is simply a result of their staking a land claim and it so happens that is the final hex they captured. I can offer my guarantee here publicly and to all nations that I give my word, they are not there to create hostilities.
Call me silly but I put my port and city where they were historically. If everybody else wants to do things like have English ports in the Faroes, or having Switzerland go off on a random landgrab that's up to them, simply not how I enjoy playing games like this.
edit: just realised how this sounds, not having a go at you CDF or Atpg, I genuinely have no issues with what you have done so far, simply saying it's not how I play games like this.
The Duchy of Savoy asks the Swiss government why they have reacted so if they feel we have no reason to be offended by their expansion? Our statement made no mention of you, and the very fact you have answered shows you are aware you have no legitimacy on Italian soil.
Few things I have to explain. People asked about these.....
1. Can I sell my units as mercs?
Yes, you can sell both your land and naval units. This requires confirmation PM from both players(add it to your orders) and unit you want to sell must already exist. You can't sell a unit you don't have.
Also, this deal will only make those units change their flag. I will not "teleport" them from one side of the map to another.
This deal automatically gives Military Access to the side who bought units until they move their new army out of sellers country.
2. Transport ships. Loading/unloading units?
There are two ships that can carry units: Transport and Fluyte.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
How many units ship can carry is determined by the size of the ships hull. So, that means Transport can carry 5 units and Fluyte 3 units.
Loading/unloading units uses one movement of transport ship.
For example, You want to board your army and move it across the sea. The distance between two lands is 3 hexes.
Your order should look like this then:
So, you just successfully transported your army from one region to another using all the movement point of Fluyte.Quote:
3. Load 1st Army on to 1st Fleet. Move the fleet 3 hexes north next to Whatever region. Unload Army there.
3. Can I move the same army in multiple order points? And the Ottomans were free to move into Wallachia without any announcement?
Yes you can. Yes, since that region was not controlled by the player.
4. Do you require me to openly designate a figure leading my army before it moves, and can it include the leader?
Yes, you must have General leading your army(militia and mercs are exceptions). Just PM me which general you want to lead your army. And, Yes, your ruler/leader/king can lead armies. They start automatically with 2 commands stars.
However, there can't be more than one general per army.
Charles Emmanuel I, Duke of Savoy died in his sleep suddenly last night leaving no natural heir to the Duchy. The Duke's will leaves his throne to the King of France, who inherits all posessions and dominions of the recently deceased Duke. As of now the Duchy of Savoy ceases to be a sovereign nation and is part of the Kingdom of France.
Woa....
Not that it isnt a shame your leaving but, why France?
I had arranged an alliance so they seemed the obvious choice. I won't be playing anymore but I have offered to help Ibn-Khaldun run the game.
 I put my cities where I think they are historically as well. My port in Scotland was going to be Wick, but the Faroes were a better position. Heck if you know what I have been doing this whole game you would understand I have a very similar mindset to you. :sweatdrop: But when it comes between a very minor, historical discrepancy and a very concrete benefit for putting the port there, I decided to chose the port.
Sorry to see you go, John.
I wish to announce now that I would like to claim territory in the italian peninsula region. It is really the only place for me to still peacefully expand, as the north has been claimed already. Many of the other nations in the region are still larger than me and I'm ceding territory to France as did the Savoy.
If there are no objections that's where I'm expanding. I call dibs.
I am also placing a claim on Italy.
I am placing a claim on Southern Netherlands.
I place a claim on everything west of Baghdad.
...
Make claims? How does that work? Austria, as Emperor, you should do something about a rogue force attacking states of the Empire.
By placing a claim we are simply telling everyone else "we want that land".
Perhaps the king of Spain and I could negotiate our mutual claims on Italy and determine where our borders will be.
I only want the Central Italy region so I'll let you have the venice and milan regions.
If there are no other claims on Italy then it's a done deal.
Oh, and I'd claim the 2 hexes which comprise Corsica, as Spain has already claimed Sardinia.
Only if it doesn't count as part of the central italy region.
They shouldn't... that region is already massive by comparison to milan and venice. You'd think the host would have left room for Savoy to expand.
Then go for it just dont expect me to care what happens when the two of you collide.
Ok I won't. I can handle myself in those kind of situations. I'm a big boy now!
saxony is awesome
that is all
5 hexes + doing nothing = awesome?
yeah we will see, heretic
Sooner than you think, Infidel.
Deadline: Sunday, November 1st, 10:00 GMT.
Please send your orders before that.
Also, if Subotan don't submit orders for France this turn too then we need someone to replace him.
He's back now, he answered one of my PM's a few hours ago.
Sorry guys, I've been away in London for a few days.
I warned the Swiss Confederation in a previous message that I would not be able to support them, should they decide to to expand in the direction of Italy. Not only did they do that, but they also secured the Franche-Comte from Spain! Both of these seem like moves to aggravate and annoy the King of France.
I am filled with sorrow to learn of the passing of my dear friend, the Duke of Savoy. It is to my understanding that along with the title of "Duke of Savoy", I will inherit a claim to the Kingdom of Italy. Therefore, I shall now be referred to as King of France, Italy and Navarre, Duke of Savoy and Heir of Charlemagne, a new title which I have just created in order to reflect the glory of the French Empire.
Whereas the King of Spain has forged his claim to that throne out of the wispy mists of brute force and greed, I have a legit and God-given claim to the rule of Italy. If you wish to continue to contest that claim, then it's war.
The same goes to you. Withdraw your forces both from Burgundy and from Northern Italy, or it's war.
EDIT:Could people put in their sigs what state they are, since it's confusing/annoying having to go back to the map on page 5 to work out who is who.

Good to have you back.
Shouldnt you be playing catchup instead of threatening your fellow Catholics France?
So much for handing France the land I just got from Spain.
Way to treat your friends, France. I'll not be bullied by you or anyone else. Consider our alliance and trade rights terminated.
How exactly is attacking peaceful member states supposed to endear you to the world? The Swiss have finally gone to far. This is what years of whoring yourselves out to anyone with the money does to you.

Hey guys I'm going to be helping Ibn-Khaldun with the game now. If you could send all your diplomatic deals (alliances, trade deals, loans etc) to me I can forward a summary which will cut his workload and let the game flow more smoothly. You should send your orders (movement, recruitment, building etc) to I-K as usual and send me your diplomatic deals.
If you all could send me a list of your current deals as well as any new deals agreed for this phase I can make sure I-K has the correct set up for everybody. Cheers. :beam:
