Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
I wish to inform you that I do not agree with this result. I do not understand why they still make the circus so that everything appears to be normal parameters until sonnet saw his result Tonno, sonnet's official subber. A little late but that's right nothing, I thought still to waste a night for not taking the time of other players, but unfortunately it did not matter at all. Sonnet told us it will not play as Tonno will take place, and after seeing the result sonnet came with all sorts of arguments totally useless, where his time was running out for a while. Nobody sees rules of this HS , which is a special one, against time and look like sonnet is trying to break the rules. It bothers me very much that no one take into account the rules and let admins should vote because it has no value and analyze the situation in accordance with the rules of the game which unfortunately are violated. But this is the world where we live and the rules are made to be broken.
LoL, Loose, we posted in the same minute !
My vote is simple too, France is up !

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
It also bothers everyone else that you three keep delaying the HS despite the decision of BOTH admins that we continue from Invicta's save.Everyone would like to continue the HS but you keep delaying it because you don't like the amin's decision.Admin is the ultimate authority and his decision should be respected.

Myth and @
Nightbringer didn't notice, but on Friday I asked Dur3x to confirm whether he was playing or not within 12 hours,
because if he wasn't goint to play we needed to know that before his turn happened in order to fin a new player in time (which was very important, because Egypt had still good chances to survive, and if we kept subbing Egypt it could have been too late 1 or 2 turns later to find a replacement if the situation got worse)
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showt...post2053603551
He didn't show up within 12 hours despite being having connected to the forum and on TWC. And while I wasted hours in finding a new player, he didn't even took 5 seconds to write I'm in.
And he wasn't giving a reply (while he could) because he wanted first to see his turn first (and check if he had any chances, like Yuonyuon confirmed in his post):
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showt...post2053603558
And I told Yuonyuon that if Dur3x is waiting to see his turn to confirm whether he'l play or not, then he's out.
Because playing only when winning is not correct towards other players who play until the end, even when losing (as also because leaving just when your turn comes up is extremely impolite and leave me in the situation of halting the HS until a new replacement is found, because leaving Egypt AI would damage everyone else).
And since everybody talks about the rules..I made very clear when people joined that everyone was expected to play until the end and not leaving just because losing or at first difficulty. And to facilitate that, I made the "decisive battle" rule to facilitate the way out (since it is a all in or out)
Still,
I played that save before Tonno made his subbing (so I used less time than him) and my message to him and the time of the save can prove it.
Anyone can download Tonno's and my save and check it out.
I'm going to explain it to you in plain, simple English.
YOU DON'T HAVE ANY AUTHORITY HERE. YOU, (AND ONLY YOU) DISRUPTED THE GAME BY TRYING TO PUSH DUR3X OUT.You wanted moderator powers at TWC when you returned for your game. Poach, following the TOS turned you down so you ran crying over here. You accepted Myth & Nightbringer to be admins here. Instead of playing your turn you post bull crap about Dur3x quitting.
You were the first person to publicly claim to be quitting. Why are you still here? Did you find a replacement for yourself?? Tonno can take over the Turks when HRE is eliminated.
And Lord Luka the only person delaying the game is invicta. The admin's asked for a vote and we are voting now.

Maybe it would be good to calm down a little. Just an advice.

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
Looks like out debate is going on wrong side so i will propose a fair and honest option since is only turn 1
I PROPOSE A RESTART FROM TURN 1 !
but if we can t even deal with this problem i doubt we going to play clean the rematch . that leads me to think that we are done here .
-
Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
Maybe you didn't read well.
Admins decision is: "go and read".
Respect it or GTFO.
I might have problems with it, but do you see me complaing? No, cuz I won't change it.
Do I feel like leaving, yes. But I wont.
So maybe, just maybe. GO and play your turn.
-
Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
@yuonyuon will you keep playing? Simple yes or not.
Can you pls also ask Dur3x if he's leaving or not?
If not, can you ask when he intends to post his turn? (day and time).
@LooseCannon1 can you confirm whether you'll keep playing? Simple yes or not.

Oh nice... I wasn't planing to go join TWC ever again, but now I am really considering it.

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
3 solutions:
1-We find new players.
2-We cut the map (Kwarezm-Cumans area gone, possibly Egypt too. Considering it's only AR battles, the AI will still pose a considerable
threat to Russian and Turks)
3- we start again with 10 players (same save) cutting the whole russian/kwarezm area, removing so TO, Kiev and Kwarezm. We can choose factions again as long as we can fit it in a reasonable time-scale
-
Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
:D
For me number 3 sounds good enough. But we got to wait for other to see this.

Tonno, you are always welcome at TWC. No one has any problems with you and you've improved over the years as a player. Remember how you tried to give me all your lands in one of the first games I was in? That's what led to the creation of the "faction suicide" rule.
But you're missing something important. Look at all the major arguments over there. Most of them consist of invicta vs Vasilefs, or invicta vs mordorru, or invicta vs. Mithridate, invicta vs. stouff, invicta vs me, and so on Now there have been other conflicts but do you see the one constant? After abandoning two games he set up last summer, invicta came back, replaced a player in an important medal game (Tyrants) and got in an agrument with Mithridate and Dr Mac claiming they were the same person (a TOS violation). He has since abandoned that game. Do you see the one constant?
Now, invicta, I turn my attention back to you. You tell me to post a one word answer to your "wall of text":laugh4: Sorry, but you are not a moderator in this forum. You, also, don't seem to understand that you are not an admin of this game. You had no right to demand anything of Dur3x . (Nightbringer edited his comment and he apologized). It is not your place to look for new players. it is not your place to "demand" that people reply to you and only you. You stroke the fires of discontent. Yes, I have told yuonyuon, dur3x, and others that I will quit this game. I'm quitting if the admins and moderators fail in their duties.

I was invited to play. If this thing is still going on, i'd like to take Castile.

You keep making things up..the HS you're referring (about Tonno), it was Hurin who wanted to give up all his lands (to Desley, and you asked a share of it btw..), not Tonno (who was playing as Norway). You keep launching accusations without caring to check your facts straight.
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...=1#post9608640
Same goes for the rest of your post. But it won't bring anywhere.
@Auran :thanks, remember your turn will usually fall on wednesday and Saturday between 10:00-19:00 during which you're expect to play (within 19:00 pm, time in London, you'll have to translate that to your timezone)

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
My vote also goes for a full restart of the HS (from turn 44) with a mandatory faction change for everyone so that the diplomacy would reset too.I would suggest cutting out the Kwazies and Cumans from the map and deleting TO as a playable faction unless maybe @Myth would join too.He said at the start he would join the next HS.I would like to se how he would preform :). That way we would have 12 playes with each one having his own subber and Nightbringer could still be the admin.
-
Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
It's fundamental to know, if we're going to restart, which players want to keep their factions at any cost (because it's your favorite or something of that sort).
I'm available to swapping and take whatever is left.
I'm ure Core-i7 wants to keep Venice.
I believe we need at least 3-4 more player available to swap factions (counting Auran is new anyway) to give a change to the game.

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
I vote for 2. This game is still good IMO. (and i want my kievan rus :P )

Of course, I don't see a problem in that. Even I had a huge argument with him, where I was really innocent, and cuz of my ignorance I lost a stack of pretty good units. I was rageing like hell since my punishment was over the top, and I repeat I was innocent. ---> You see there's nothing wrong with arguments if something is done wrongly.
I don't support all his moves, or his leaving... most of the times I came to him and asked that he stays (it's not fair to join the game and leave it mid game- yes I am aware that admins can do wrong on anyone and then the only option is to leave). But when someone is right, well he is right.
Three persons you mentioned are KNOW cheaters and exploiters, if a new guy came to the HSing, and he said something against those three, I tell you now, I would side with him (that is before any arguments are made).
I really don't have much to add, it is simple for me: Everyone makes mistakes, that's where to real value of community comes out, is it a civilized democratic society, theocratic dictatorship or ego state.
EDIT
Thanks for the praise, but I didn't improve that much, I only reload like hell since it's allowed.

I don't like the idea of switching factions, but if some new players come, and the rest agree, I am ok with it.

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
Auran takes Castille, we only need 1 player for Egypt if we cut Kwarezm. Id say its better than restart the hotseat.

Would anyone be fine if Tonno takes Egypt and keeps playing HRE until one faction between the 2 dies?
If everyone agrees, and has nothing against it, we can keep moving.
Most important answers are from @Jiub @Gaius Octavius Caesar and @Core-i7-inside as they're the ones at war with HRE.
This way no one gets free meal and at the same time you'll keep fighting the same guy.

Indeed what I mostly needed to know was if Jiub Gaius and Core-i7 planned to finish the job. @Gaius Octavius Caesar : you're right
I came up with a better idea (maybe): Emproment may inherit the HRE empire (so he'll manage 2 factions).
This is good because:
1- The 2 factions are already in the same war.
2-The 2 factions comes one after the other (so no problem of playing 4 times a week).
3-The 2 factions right now are not very strong, so even owning 2 shouldn't be much of a problem.
But if we go that way, we should let him free (if he has the chance) to eventually make peace deals (for instance if at one point the coalition against him offers him to let him keep England in exchange for the Imperial lands would you object?) as he sees fit.
It'll be really like him owning 2 factions, and not just subbing one. Unless you want to opt for him just subbing HRE

This sounds better. Lets see what @Jiub thinks about it because he s in the 1st line against HRE - England.

Well the deal would be: we should consider letting extrmination as a option for every war but the Holy war, that would put a lot of real pacts and propostions, and put a bit of fear into ppls minds.
Lame jokes asaid.

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
I've been reading some of the rules, I don't very much agree with them, at all. They seem to be based on one or a few people's sense of justice, and some of them certainly don't agree with me. For example, one says that if I have an NAP with a faction, and he attacks my ally, I can't directly break and and consider it an act of aggression. But is it not?
He attacks my ally, that is an aggression towards me, directly or indirectly depending on how close I am to that ally. Maybe that ally is keeping me alive by defending me, but in any case such thing are clear, and too many rules cause confusion.
In any case I agree with the time schedules. So i'll wait for my save.

@Auran the rules are only the ones in the 1 post of the thread. The situation you're referring to, is about the reputation's rules.
They're not really rules (as they do not have any effects other than seeing your name written in the list). So you don't have too respect them.
And when you make a deal , as long as your clear on your terms and you make it official (the side-terms can remain secret or not public),
you won't have problem with it. For instance in the case you mentioned: you can sign a NAP with a faction, specifying that if one of your allied
is attacked, you'll feel released by any obligations of respecting the NAP immediately (France did that with the Turks).
If you don't specify that, than you'll need to (to not end up in the unreliable player's list )give the other faction a warning of 3 turns to 'honorably' break the nap.
But all in all, as said you don't have to necessarily respect those 'rules', as there's no direct consequence for it.
Venice broke it first, and its allies still stayed on his side.

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
It seems most people here didn't indend to play a hotseat. They intended to bicker and bring in old drama from the TWC. I have asked several times for players to ignore their ego and continue playing a Med 2 hotseat, but I have been ignored.
I asked for everyone to keep it to PM and yet more drama sprung up in this thread.
I owe you guys an explanation to my haphazard posting: I have been away on "vacation" meaning I had work outside of work. It culminated with a two day move to a new flat whcih I had to do all on my own. For this reason I could only reed PMs and the thread and I tried taking people at their word which was not the right thing to as an admin to the game.
I however, didn't agree to do investigative work every day to just to be able to reply to the thread when I took on the role as game admin. For example, investingating now if Invicta indeed is right or wrong about Dur3x and about his save times. I see replies here about who posted what on the TWC, timetables, secreenshots of PMs. And this game is only a few turns in.
I asked for a focus on the Med 2 hotseat, instead the drama continued. And before any of you think that the "other guys" are at fault - no. Both parties are.
I've fudged the .org rules here in the Throne Room to keep people cool headed and try and make this into an acutal hotsetat. Believe me, in other sections the infractions would have started flying long ago.
So now half of the players are quitting because Invicta got extra time and played a "perfect turn"? Choosing to ignore my ruling? Even though you actually know my ruling meant to simply speed up the game and bury the drama so far? Nightbringer's idea for a vote worked too, except that this can't ever be a democracy, because we have two factions of posters who basically hate each other. I can't actually wrap my head around why people try to play a game together if they dislike each other so much.
Here are my proposals:
I will continue to admin this game for you under the condition that NO previous drama unrelated to the game is broguht up and that my decisions are respected.
In fact, If I see more off-topic arguments I will just delete them. And this time I'm serious.
Replay the game from Invicta's turn but everyone will get a flat amount of time to finish their turn. Perhaps even a day or more. So yes, this will slow the game down, but you guys wasted several days in arguments anyway, and this will allow for everyone to get a "perfect turn" as described.
If you want you can simply restart from the first save.
From now on however, I don't want to be involved in old TWC drama. I don't want people trying to mislead me or Nightbringer via PMs. And no one will be doing backseat moderating. We go by the .org rules now.
Oh, and the next time I have to edit a curse word out, I'm giving an infraction. I've been far too leneint with you guys and it got us nowhere.
Oh, and welcome @Auran

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
No one is right. Not even me, since I didn't do a 4 hour investigation from comparing post times and PMs from my phone and instead chose to sleep after moving furniture for a whole day. The lack of said investigation lead to a mess because people think I'm playing favorites.
Dur3x didn't pop up in the thread to dispute the claims that he is leaving the game. This almost lead me to give Nightbringer the go-ahead to clear the save. This would have made an entire different mess. Invicta was waiting for the cleared saves. This delayed his turn. Obviously NOBODY likes to be subbed if they can post their actual save.
As I explained in PMs - I want people to play their own turns. I would always prefer a save from the original owner rather than a subbed turn, even if this means a delay or bending the rules.
Invicta has behaved very autocratically in this thread and I understand that both parties have some serious drama from the past. He did however accept both my decisions to restore Egypt's stack as well as not penalize Spain for attacking the Moors. He didn't like it for sure, but he accepted it.
But now the other 3 players don't like my decision and leave because I want to give everyone an equal chance to play their turn themselves even if we have a temporary slowing of the game. This is also what Nightbriner said - let's pull the game out of this muck and from then on we go by the rules of posting times and subbing and hopefully no more mishaps will occur.
-
Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
I believe my turn will expire in 2 hours. I will need an extension of a few more hours after that. I am really busy this day, but I will try to find some time for my turn.
Thanks.

Mate, I don't think you're getting how this HS works.:inquisitive:
This hs has no such thing as extensions, else the whole schedule will not work.

He has anyway 4 more hours (I gave him wrong hours as I made a bit of confusion).
I'll modify the timetable anyway, cutting 2 hours from my turn (so 06:00-10:00, @Tonno could get 10:00-15:00, and @Auran will get 15:00-23:00, which should facilitate him in having his turns done -the hours are referred to the time in London).
I'm still hoping to find a replacement for Kwarezm. If anyone knows someone available let me know. Hours to play are 00:00-06:00.

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
In order to let @Auran set his diplomacy, would anyone mind if we give him one day extra? Just for this time.

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
He can do it on the fly, there's nothing urgent that needs settling.
He has like 2 neighbors only and he's safe.
Or was it something else in different words ?
Anyways, we've lost enough time on bull already haven't we ?

I think only Auran has right now the password for Castille (I asked Yuonyuon to pass him and he kindly did).
I sent him a message 1 hour ago, warning about time expiration. Hope he connects.

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
Alright, i'm starting my the second half of my turn now, and should be done in one or two hours max.
If anyone has any deals with me, i'd like to know them now. Otherwise i'll consider them null and void. I consider my NAP with France null, and I will renew it to 5 turns, to be increased hopefully when I understand what's going on, cause I don't want to be caught in an endless NAP :)
I consider my NAP with Moors completely NULL, since he has provinces in Spain and refuses to give them up. This is not a declaration of war, but just letting him know that I won't sit until I have my Spain. He can still do it the peaceful way...
Thanks.

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
Very sorry. I had to leave suddenly to go with family and drop them off at the airport. I came back very late and had to go sleep.
I'll do my best to play my turn soon.
Thanks for your patience.

So far I got 6 votes (out of 10 votes, since I won't vote):
Option A - @Jiub @Makrell @Gaius Octavius Caesar
Option B- @Tonno @Auran @ebs @Lord Luka @Emproment
I'm waiting for the votes of: @Vipman @Core-i7-inside

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
By the looks of it the HS will be open by me.
You won't mind if I add a small twist to it. :quiet:
I feel sorry for Jiub, he had this one going.

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
If we're restarting I'll clear the FoW and we can at least judge who was on the road to a secure faction and who was about to get his arse handed to him. Will the guys who quit come back for a restart? This will be also a chance for me to redeem my admining skills. To be honest we never had so many issues in .org games and even if we did people are pretty chill about most things. Except blatant idiotic cheating on the scale of "I gave myself 30,000 florins hur-dur". So i've never been pressed so hard as an admin.
@LooseCannon1 @dur3x @yuonyuon so, ready to forgive and forget?
I'd even run a new save to wipe the slate clean. Oh, and this time I'm disbanding the armies myself so we get no issues with the units.

So far I got all the votes (out of 10 votes, since I won't vote):
Option A - @Jiub @Makrell @Gaius Octavius Caesar @Core-i7-inside
@Vipman
NB:Vipman won't keep playing if we restart, so I'd take this as if he voted A
Option B- @Tonno @Auran @ebs @Lord Luka @Emproment
Without a clear majority I guess we should keep moving.
@Emproment your turn is due tonight and we should get in the schedule again

Don't worry guys, I'll still make a new one. In time. :)

That would be a very interesting HS

France is up @Jiub.
I will post pics later if anyone cares. It's basically the same thing as last time but a few different troops here and there.

Edit:No need to vote on cutting the map, Dr Mac will be the player for Kwarezm.
So we keep playing on the whole map.

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
No need to cut the map anymore. @Dr Mac will be joining as Kwarezm.
If anyone had a deal or want to make a deal with Kwarezm pls contact Dr Mac asap
@Emproment pls give Dr Mac Kwarezm password.
I remixed the official subber list.
-
Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
Yeah, I've asked admin for a cleared save. Message me if you have any deals :)

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
Oh well, I was hoping for a restart to salvage the relations between players. We'll see, maybe I'll run another game but not on a tight schedule. Unfortunately it's Friday which means I'm driving away after work. @Nightbringer will have to clear the save for you Dr Mac.

I'll do my best to make a reboot of Rex HS once started by me, I'll just rethink some of the game related stuff to make it even more war hungry HS. So in that way you can join in peace.

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
I don't want to mess anything up, so can I get a clear list of exactly which factions need their password reset please. I should be able to get to it today if I get that info.
thanks :)

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
This replay with only minor changes ? Not minor at all. Anything from the sinking of a full stack not far from Genoa to defeating a stack east of Cologne to capturing the Minor city of Exeter and others. From a total of 34 screenshots and a towering pillar of awesomeness to a drably "whatever" 12 screens.
Oh well, things like this happen when ppl get to replay their turn. :mean:
The uploader is playing games with me, don't know why I keep uploading and nothing appears.

Re: Restless crowns: forging empires [Late era -Skip a few]
I only replayed England's turn. I was forced to play HRE, for the good of the HS it seems..
Tell me France, did you also take Winchester last save?

OK It seems HRE and England is now a client kingdom.
Salzburg, Vienna, and Zagreb are under siege.

Peaceful season in the north.
I was not happy to wait for spring but we cant advance in these harsh conditions. Its winter.
