do you have it in, say 1280x960 ? (1024x768 will do nicely too) :beam:Quote:

When it comes to fires, I always thought this picture was amazing
It's a picture of a wildfire in Bitterroot National Forest, Montana. I had to use Google images to find the photo- maybe if you poke around, you'll be able to find a larger version.Quote:

The weather was appropriately rainy- but it made outside photos inconvenient and much of the inside of the prison was also leaky with puddles everywhere. It's completely delapidated- you have to sign a waiver before they even let you explore it. I took alot more photos, but many of them ended up being pretty under-exposed. :shame:
hmm I want one of these now:

95mhW green laser. Can melt plastic, pop balloons, light cigarettes, and has a rang of 38 miles. Amazing.
Ok this is a pretty cool photograph I guess:

BTW Xiahou, my daughter and I were looking at going to the Eastern State Penitentiary around Halloween for their "haunted house" tours. The place looks really creepy - especially in the gloomy rain of your pictures. Halloween aside, it is famous as a haunted site. Is the prison as large as it seems to be?
If you get a chance, check out hugin sometime. It's an open-source panorama maker that I use. I love it, but have no basis for comparison either.
Thanks for the tip. I downloaded and installed hugin. I'll give it a whirl one of these days.
A sampling of the shots I took at Niagara Falls this summer. Great oppurtunity not to look like an amateur, since there are so many great shots available there.

Good shots GH
Nice shots GH.
EDIT: There's a flying seagull in the third.
Never even heard of this breed before. It would be hilarious to see what would happen if you'd place one next to a tiny, yapping whihuahua or a poodle :laugh4:Quote:

Xiahou, you have wonderfull waterfalls where you live.
There certainly seems to be no shortage of waterfalls around here. :beam:
The above photo was taken in Rickett's Glen State Park. In that park alone, there are 24 named waterfalls- all of which can be seen within about a 7 mile hike. Beautiful place.
56kb death there Edyz.
Nice shots, how I do miss Europe.
edyz, I really like that cloud/sunray picture. :2thumbsup:
A couple of evenings ago, our sunset featured a phenomenon known as a sun pillar, which is a column of light the width of the sun standing up from the horizon. I saw it a couple of minutes before arriving home from a movie. The "pillar" was absolutely brilliant. Alas, in the 3-4 minutes it took to get home and grab the camera, the pillar had faded quite a bit. I took the picture below. The pillar is there but hard to see. It is better seen by standing 2-3 paces back away from the monitor. The brightest part of the pillar is a segment in the center a little above the very bright yellow streak just above the horizon. As far as I can tell, the pillar extends up to nearly the top of the picture, about the same height as the tree branches on the right edge of the picture.

As I've said, the one is basically just a lens protector and I think the warming filter and probably most color enhancing type filters can probably be duplicated fairly easy in the editing phase. However, the circular polarizer was very interesting to me, so I decided to test it out on a walk at Trough Creek State Park.
Here are 2 photos- all camera settings are identical in both, the only difference being that I rotated the filter 90 degrees from one shot to the next. Notice the reflections on the water:
https://img377.imageshack.us/img377/...6023be0.th.jpg
https://img108.imageshack.us/img108/...6022ie7.th.jpg
In the first, the water is almost mirror-like while in the second, almost all reflection is gone and you can see straight to the bottom.
Old news for sure to someone who uses filters regularly- but to me, it was fascinating. :2thumbsup:
