Re: Capo di Tutti Capi IV
Wow, I switched from 40 per page to 80, and the next use of the "go to next unread" feature skipped over a bunch of stuff and started me on the top of the next page. :inquisitive: Hope it doesn't do that again.
The analysis on Visorslash is intriguing. Words and actions that don't match up can be a pretty good indicator there is something amiss. I think I'll add to the heat a little and see what cooks up.
Vote: Visorslash
If I'm understanding it correctly, the Director can't be lynched or night killed, but is also blocked from night actions. The latter would be quite annoying for someone with a significant active role. I guess for now I can be satisfied to Select: GH.

Re: Capo di Tutti Capi IV
I can vouch for Visorslash not being mafia.
As I have been thoroughly scanned by the FBI, and I can be accounted for at night as well, you can take that to the bank.

At some point I'd appreciate to know the evidence, because he's certainly acting like one.

Slash and earn, night one:
Quote:
Slash and earn was striding down the boardwalk, his pace suggesting frustration at something or someone, when his walk home was interrupted. The first shooter simply popped up a stairwell from the beach side of the boardwalk, leveling a revolver of some kind and holding some kind of business card.
>Clang…Clang<
went the two soft-nosed slugs as they ricocheted off the steel plates in his overcoat. Slash was staggered but unharmed by the shots. Two figures leapt up behind the gunman, knocking him off the raised boardwalk and into the sands, leaving the business card to flutter off in the breeze.
The Second gunman, positioned on the roof of an apartment block about a block away, saw the failure of his associate, figured the target to be armored, and eased the sights upward to head height. He never even squeezed the trigger a third figure leapt onto the boardwalk and knocked slash and earn to the boards and behind a concrete and board bench as he was lining up the shot. He quickly dropped the weapon and made his escape across the rooftops. Though chased for a little while, his partner made good his escape as well. Slash, dazed by the episode, wondered who he should thank for the armor plating…and the knot on his head from when he was knocked down.
It looks like a group of three defenders, plus armor plating, against two attackers.
I think I remember one more instance of armor plating, but I can't look for it now.

The context and usage are distinct.
I was thinking of this:
Quote:
Cal King – sometimes known as a completely inoffensive name strode briskly out of the lobby of the Convention Center, hat low to keep out the drizzle. He had barely reached the curb when the gunmen stood up and started hammering at him with revolvers and a shotgun.
He went down quickly, but before one of the trio of gunmen could move forward to make sure of their kill, a bus pulled up between them and Cal. As they move forward to flank the bus, a trio of balaclava-covered men grabbed Montmorency up bodily and spirited him back into the lobby of the convention center – and the waiting cadre of Fatlington’s finest.
Seeing this, the lead gunman signaled his two fellow shooters, shook his head that they were not enough, and sent them back to the shadows.
King was dazed but alive and more or less unhurt – and quite happy with whoever had sowed the armor plates into his coat and hat. They had come in handy.
Be interesting to see that flip.
One other person survived due to body armor, but that seems more like a luck kind of ability.

Re: Capo di Tutti Capi IV
The slash and earn one is very odd. Why would both a doctor and a pt group be on him night one?
-
Re: Capo di Tutti Capi IV
And there it is. I think ACIN and Subotan are in the next reveal.
-
Re: Capo di Tutti Capi IV
Select: GH.
As for the vote, I'd like to put some pressure on Vote: Nictel.. He's only posted once, yet he hasn't been Wog'd yet.

If Pizza is a Don, I am going to crack down the middle in laughter.
Also, :stare: at the people voting for me. My night actions are accounted for in forms of Vigilante kills/attempts, and Renata has literally just mentioned it. Are you guys even trying?
-
Re: Capo di Tutti Capi IV
Of course I'm a Don. I run this whole town.
Sheesh, people. Just go back to your lives, I'll play songs on the radio and offer you my special brand of protection.
If ACIN and Subo and others were starting mafia, that would explain a lot, and also explain why no one is taking me up on my offer to interview gangsters on the air for the luls.
Either that or we've got gangsters who are trembling at the thought of talking to me even with anonymity intact. That kind of cowardice has no place in Fatlington.
Worried I'll figure out who you are by writing style? I'm not that good. Run it through a translator or something.
Speaking of songs, I have some more requested ones to post.
-
Re: Capo di Tutti Capi IV
Yeah, those are very interesting: the ACIN and slash&earn writeups.
I find it really hard to believe that all three would be the dons we're looking for.
Would so many dons be attacked so quickly? Then again, it is odd that Ishmael and slash & earn would be protected by doctors, on the surface of things. If ACIN flips, Don...
But again, these were small pieces of metal sewn into clothing. Pizza got whole sheets of armor plate, more than once, wielded by what is implied to be 5 individuals. It's very easy to accept these as protections, given that Pizza runs a huge pt/vig racket.
About slash:

kind and holding some kind of business card.
Haven't we seen that in writeups? And two attackers = Mafia, no?
Huh. Huh...
Ok...

Re: Capo di Tutti Capi IV
Yeesh....
How many were requested?
I know I did one....I think.....
ANYWHOWAYS......
Select:Chaotix
Feel like mixing it up a little.

For now at least.

Re: Capo di Tutti Capi IV
Looking at slash's post history, it's mostly him saying he's a townie and looking for protection group buddies. Generally not don behavior.

Isn't it something like protections autofail if they have a Don involved? So if we can confirm he's been doing protections that succeeded...
Vote: Clitsome

Re: Capo di Tutti Capi IV
Quote:
"Town, this is your last outrage. I will tell you this and swear a great oath upon it, and this shall be a great oath before you: some day longing for me will come to the sons of the Townies, all of them. Then stricken at heart though you be, you will be able to do nothing, when in their numbers before the town-slaughtering Mafia they drop and die. And then you will eat out the heart within you in sorrow, that you did no honor to the best of the townies.
Perhaps you will wish to visit me at night, when the soft sweet sleep envelops mens' minds, and supplicate the anger that I have made savage within my proud-hearted spirit. And then I will bid you to take back this message to the Town: I will not think again of the bloody scum-hunting until such time as the sons of the 5 Dons, the Mafia, shall come all the way to the house of my fathers, their shelter, shall slaughter my allies, and shall darken with fire my possessions. But around my own house, I think, and before my black fedora the scum will be held, though they be very hungry for nightkilling. "
This one was simply too amusing, had to post it.
No idea what it means at all. I can give you the email address for it if you want. :laugh4:
Maybe this is the spirit thing that went after Sasaki, or just taking credit for it.

If they RELY on the Don to succeed, then yes. If they have enough people without it, they should function, is that not so?

Awww man i don't have enough time to read all this and i haven't been paying attention to everything.....it's so hard to follow. Maybe I shouldn't have signed up for this.......

Nobody has time to read all this. Even I skip parts when I pull a double shift.
They key to getting invested in this game is reading the updates, and there's a separate thread for that here:
You vote for whoever, but if you want your vote to make a difference you should request a tally and then vote for one of the existing candidates, unless you have information on someone to share.
Selection is probably going to be GH today anyway.
Night actions are really what the game is all about. I've paired up lots of folks who couldn't find partners. May I be of help?

Sounds almost like a quotation...a translation of something classical.
edit: Yes it's from the iliad :beam:
edit2: probably Craterus complaining about GH getting selected again.

Now would be a good time for a tally so you can decide actually.
I'd prefer you vote for whoever, not vote how someone else tells you.
BRB with a tally, can you hold on for like 5 minutes?
-
Re: Capo di Tutti Capi IV

Re: Capo di Tutti Capi IV
yeah, tally would be nice. I still think Ishmael to be great target but I am affraid there is too few votes on him
-
Re: Capo di Tutti Capi IV
Thanks for your continued confidence everyone. I'm going to do my best to keep up the high level of executions. Latest writeup just sent in, btw.
