Yet, as we all know, Ironside cannot be roleblocked. That is partly the reason why I am voting for classical hero, yet not doing anything to stop Ironside's lynch.
Okay well, if you are saying that Ironside has TWO defenses, and he claimed "nothing special" to Yaropolk, it means he was lying about it, and is likely scum. I'm not really expecting him to gain two defensive powers in 3 nights.
As for corruption/recruiting, there's not much we can do about it, but as Sasaki wrote a few days ago, there has to be a mechanism that prevent/stop recruiting, otherwise the mafia could grow too large to handle, and with 4 kills per nights, we have our hands full already. So recruiting might be like it was in Rubicon: 1-2 recruit total, for the whole game.

Isn't it fair to assume people are gaining new abilities as the game progresses? If it's random, it could happen.
And if it's happened to Greyblades, it could happen to others as well.

I agree on JHT. I'd switch my vote if it didn't make lynching Skooma more probable - we don't want a repeat of yesterday. At the moment, I am sticking with Ironside, but I'd urge people to consider JHT.

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
6 Ironside (Diamondeye, dcmort, Skooma, classical_hero, Sasaki, landlubber)
5 Skooma (Glenn, Beefy, Ironside, Greyblades, johnhughtom)
2 classical_hero (Seon, yaropolk)
1 Csargo (Csargo)
2 classical_hero (Seon, yaropolk)
1 landlubber (Fluffyone)
---
4 not voting (acin, Nictel, pevergreen, Rebel Jeb)
--------------
I dislike Skooma still, maybe it is just his style of play but I think he needs to die as Sasaki would say.
Next is definitely classical_hero, Csargo then maybe landlubber, ByzantineKnight or dcmort. One of those three is likely a mafioso, the other two are just very unhelpful, scummy townies.

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
Should there be another tie again, because that can easily be done.
Or should we wait a bit longer, or just lynch ironside?
-
Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
Just do it. Vote for Skooma.
-
Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
DON'T. YOU. DARE. VOTE. FOR. SKOOMA.
Edit: and a HUGE FoS on Glenn.
-
Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
No ties, the mafia can manipulate the tally if votes are too close. Also, we don't need to kill 2 players again during the day, we have enough dead at night.

Raargh. Skooma is not a good lynch.

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
unvote; vote: Skooma - like that?

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
unvote, vote: Ironside
I jest, naturally. Seon's in the red, it seems.

After being right about Captain blackadder I think following his advice would be a sound plan.

Can someone unvote Skooma?
I'm not surprised to see Ironside and JHT voting against him, and they won't probably show their faces before the deadline, but someone else maybe?
Beefy, Glenn or Greyblades?
DE is making me nervous. :laugh4:
Edit: Yay for Greyblades. :balloon2:

Ha ha haaaa! You cannot kill Slippy Toad! I am invincible! I am the greatest inter-galactic craftsman and mechanical engineer in this entire game!

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
Yeah, I'm not buying it. That's the WORST Slippy impression I've ever seen.
Try "Fox! HELP MEEEEEEEE!" next time.

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
...I'm convinced we need to kill glenn, if only to stop him from roleplaying.

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
We need more votes on JHT, well there are none so far, since he has been a suspect of mine for a while, it is just that there has not been enough cause for me to point this out while others have had better cases put on them. fos:JHT

classical_hero, you are more scummy than the hull of the Titanic.

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
This is Ironside's reveal to me:
Quote:
Nothing. I don't have any powers. I feels like Chaotix have forgotten me by now.
Feel free to scan me. I can update if I gain any active powers.
My role is James Pierce, GF. Since we're sharing roles, what's yours?
then pm 2:
Quote:
I prefer not having the name out in public. I got the feeling that some might have private objectives and my role has a certain rep (that leads to nothing in this game). Might be nothing, but if I die I prefer to die to mafia.
I'm not sure what point of all roles having secrets otherwise.
Wikipedia entry on James Pierce:
http://metroid.wikia.com/wiki/James_Pierce
Clearly this bodes suspicious for Ironside. However, can anyone with both an ability and a defense confirm whether both can be used in one night? Multiple people posted they got new powers tonight...i did as well, which makes me think that vanilla townies don't get powers randomly but rather all at once. This means vanilla townies did NOT have defenses or abilities when Ironside was able to defend.
What's the case on Skooma? Is it just his lurkiness? I think the case on Classical Hero is much stronger than skooma. God emperor was an investigator (Roll Casket in the writeup). Last night he investigated Classical Hero according to landlubber. In the writeup we see him walking into Samus's room and spying on her, then samus turns around and kills him.
I would like to see a tie between Ironside and CH, or at least a lynch of CH - as I believe one is Samus and the other the corrupted marine.
By the way does anyone know who Romanic targetted on night 5 when he got killed by the target of his actions? Looks like he was out investigating as well.
-
Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
well....
Unvote; Vote: classical_hero
But I still have suspicions about landblubber
-
Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
Thanks for these clarifications Yaro.
Ironside claimed having no ability on Night 4, then on Night 6 we hear that he has 2 defensive abilities. He's gotta be lying.
His story is very suspicious. "Don't tell my name, someone might be looking for me". :laugh4:

Sorry, I can't tell.
About creating a tie between CH and Ironside... I'm not convinced about classical_hero yet, but we really do not want to open a door for the mafia to place a last minute vote. Note that at the moment, Ironside is voting for Skooma, so if we created a 5-5 tie, Ironside could switch at 00:29 EST and save himself. What a blow that would be to us if CH is Town.
I say, let's not get greedy. Ironside is a great lynch, we'll figure the rest tomorrow, we're still 19 players left.
-
Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
Nice post Yaropolk, I should read the write-up more thoroughly.
Unvote; Vote: Classical_hero
This does not mean I consider Skooma innocent, but I am definitely more convinced that CH should die immediately.
I opt for a tie - if the mafia alters the vote at the last minute, we may have some sure-fire lynches for tomorrow.
-
Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
I think Ironside is an excellent choice for a lynch as well as CH and Skooma.

WHY WOULD SLIPPY BE ON THIS SHIP?
He's not much of a hero. He's not even the main character. He's just an annoying frog.

Not sure of the tally, and I'm very fond of that vote.
I'll be around for a few hours now, got until dinner on a stable net connection, and a computer.

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
Current Tally:
6 Ironside (Diamondeye, dcmort, Skooma, classical_hero, Sasaki, landlubber)
5 classical_hero (Glenn, Seon, yaropolk, fluffyone, pevergreen)
4 Skooma (Beefy, Ironside, johnhughtom, acin)
1 Glenn (Greyblades,)
1 Csargo (Csargo)
2 not voting (Nictel, Rebel Jeb)
Let's see if Ironside is willing to tie it up by switching from skooma to CH
edit: added ACIN's and pever's vote. ACIN that vote is a mistake - there is no good case on skooma at the moment, and you're making it close enough for mafia to bandwagon him

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
First off, I think for now the town should focus on trying to find original mafia members, as they will left a lot more evidence inthread than recruited ones. We can get the recruited ones later. Following this logic, the following ignores the recruit possibility.
So I've started going through the thread and taking notes on all the living players and this is what I noticed about Classical on day 1.
classical_hero
-Renata votes Classical hero (Day 1- 1st)
-Beskar votes Classical Hero (Day 1 -2nd)
-Beskar unvotes while Classical Hero was tied (Day 1) changes vote to someone who was not in the lead, but was close
I'd say Renata placing the first vote on him day 1 doesn't say all that much. Perhaps it makes him slightly less likely to be on the Phazon team, but a day 1 first vote on a mafia partner usually isn't that dangerous. Beskar however, places the second vote on Classical Hero, while at the time the leading candidate had like three or four votes. Normally I would say right here that this would prove Classical Hero can't be Samus, as it is an extremely risky move to put a second vote on their partner. However, Beskar was playing pretty risky this game, and he did unvote Classical later on in the round, but it is important to note that he switched his vote to someone not already ahead of Classical. It would have been much more telling if that had been the case. The fact that Renata never unvoted while Classical was near the lead reduces his chances of being Phazon. Later on Classical joins the Tincow wagon so I think there is very little chance he is actually Phazon.
So in conclusion, simply based on the above info, I find it unlikely Classical is Samus, but still possible. I find it very unlikely that he is Phazon.

Re: [Council of Villains] A State of Corruption [In play]
Should I go for a nonsense vote to avoid the mafia from causing a possible bandwagon?
