It's currently my desktop background. :2thumbsup:
The various colors of the the reflections on the water come out very well, Xiahou
Did you use a tripod to take the pic?
PS: Excuse my ignorance - but which city is shown in the picture?
That's Manhattan as seen from Weehawken, NJ.Quote:

thanks, ser :)
greg, that last one started with a script in psp xi. i believe it was the 'airbrush and ink' script. on that i did a lot of airbrushing by hand, some brightness/contrast adjustment layers and some 'clarify', along with some other hand work.
quite fun to do :)
nice, dark cityscape, xiahou! always love those. got any lightning ones?
Unfortunately, no. I'd love to take some if the right opportunity ever arises though.Quote:

ah, ok.
what exposure time did you use to get that one, xiahou?
1/10
f/3.2
ISO 400
Here's one I took with a slower shutter speed. If you look closely, you'll see some significant blurring- it may not really show up at this resolution though.

In the end, I decided I liked the first one better anyhow...
thanks, xiahou. 1/10, i'm surprised. i would have thought a touch more was needed, but you did post the 2nd one, so that makes sense.
yup, gotta have a tripod :) but, i actually like the 2nd one better, so go figure.
Those bird pics are very cool, Ser. And that's some really impressive zooming with the swan close-up... or were you able to get relatively close to it ?
Oh, and another thing, one of the seagulls screams "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" at me. :2thumbsup:
The bird pics were all taken with 200 mm focal width (would be equivalent to 300 mm on classic/conventional cameras). In addition I also was able to get quite close to the swans (they weren't particularly shy ~:))Quote:

That one has a very nice oil-painting look, Krae :2thumbsup:
good! that's what i was going for :)
Krae, that Flensburg "oil painting" is amazing.
thanks, greg! :)
now you guys have some idea of why i've been gone so long. been learning a whole new trade. totally immersed :)
Then I hope that you find time to drop by more often again to show more of this new trade ~:)Quote:

Mrs. Clegane and myself spent the last weekend in Paris (I had to attend a conference on Thursday/Friday - so this was a good opportunity).

Well, duh, Kuni, ofcourse we like it ~:). Esp. the shogun vets I think ~:D
Ser Clegane, must say you've got a great eye for composition, really nice work on a lot of these shots.
And yes, well drawn Kuni! Planning to shade/colour it sometime?
Ser,
nice pics! i especially like the opera one.
and kuni, if i could do that as well as you do, i'd probably starve to death cause i'd be doing nothing else, including eating :)
ok, i took the opera pic and was going to 'artify' it, but the more i played with it, the more i realized it really didnt need to be made into art. the art is already there. so, instead, i just tried to enhance what was already there. this was mostly just re-lighting it with some adjustment layers, a bit of 'clarify' and some airbrushing where the whites had 'blown out' (r=255, g=255, b=255).

Very nice.Quote:

Nice drawing Kuni. :2thumbsup: Is drawing a hobby or something more for you?
Ser, nice shots of Paris. I like the "eyes", Louvre pyramid, and the chimneys pictures in particular. Did you use a polarizing filter in some of the shots? I ask because the sky is intensely blue in some of the shots.
