I'm still getting the hang of this whole random vote thing. What should I do? Put everyone's name on a wheel and spin it? :clown:Quote:

Whose target are you going to accept? Just randomly bandwagon? You must have an opinion, care to share?
Seems to be a fair bit of discussion for day1!
Tincow, ever heard of nicknames? Curio will do!

Welcome to mafia!
Wait. 180+ posts, and only one by Glenn, who is usually in the thick of it by now?
vote: Glenn
just for being so out of character. Speak up Lad, and I'll pull that vote.
Who would target Seamus so early? Why? Someone with an axe to grind from the last big Mafia game? Not happy here with his quick demise.
Vote: Tratorix
My vote chosen using random.org. :laugh4:
Vote: pevergreen
Throwing a vote on a new player because he's trying to be active? Shame.
Ha ha ha! You must understand Kukri!
Actually - I was quite enjoying simply browsing through the thread and attempting to see patterns in speech and ideas.
Now that I have been asked to stand out in the open, I shall remain, and I will also share a thought.
I was cowed in Capo II by the malevolence of Sasaki - who appeared to be dogging anyone he could shed bad light upon.
This seems to be a popular tactic of his, and often leads to the lynching of townies - unfortunately - even when Sasaki is pro-town.
In every game I play, spectating or participating, the first thing I do is try to determine whether Sasaki is guilty or innocent. That may be a compliment to him.
And so far in this - Sasaki is the only player whom I would even guess as an innocent.
This is because I see he had a fair opportunity to pick at Privateer Kev, a new player, who although he reasoned fairly against Sasaki - when I did so in Capo II - it made no difference.
However, instead of tearing him to the ground in any way possible, Sasaki allowed things to slide.
He appears more temperate and less wilfully destructive this game - and I think now I am more inclined to believe his word provided he gives reason also.
----
I am suspicious so far of one thing. Tiberius of the Drake and his random vote.
I think we need to start adding a tally here, so that players can't jump on bandwagons in total anonymity.
---
As for Seamus - I don't see it as totally strange that someone with over 4000, and just as many PMs of Mafioso experience would be taken out immediately.
I would guess him to be an exceptional hunter after Capo II!
---
And finally, my vote is reserved until I see someone worthy of lynching suspicion.
Let's just hope Sasaki doesn't twist my words.. He has a gift not unlike those people who find satanic messages in Beatle songs..
(Edited to make more sense.)

I am in awe of your well prepared and presented reasoning.Quote:

I don't like what you've done so far. You make a post earlier noting Shlin's odd remark, but don't vote. Since then, you've been online, yet you apparently don't seem to find anything very interesting, since you are deciding to lurk. Got anything to say?
Whoops, just reread thread a bit more. I need some sleep.:sweatdrop:
Unvote: Woad&Fangs
Vote: Strawberry
Insane Tally:
Sarathos- 2(Beefy187, Warman)
Proletariat- 2(Sasaki, Husar)
Shlin28- 2(Woad&Fangs, GaiusCurio)
GeneralHankerchief- 2(CR, Banana Bob)
00Jebus- 1(GH)
Gaius Sribonius Curio- 1(TinCow)
Andres- 1(Mithrandir)
PrivateerKev- 1(Pevergreen)
Beefy187- 1(Tiberius)
Sasaki- 1(LittleGriz')
Warman- 1(Caius)
Glenn- 1(Kukri)
Tratorix- 1(Rythmic)
Pevergreen- 1(Tratorix)
Ichigo- 1('Khaan)
Abstain- 2(The Stranger, Shlin28)
Since not voting will get me in more trouble than random voting, and random voting will get me in more trouble than targeted voting, I will vote for someone.
Vote: Proletariat
I never liked her implying that someone can only place a block if the target is doing something. She is a veteran and should know better. If I hear a satisfactory answer, or see someone acting more guilty, then I will re-consider my vote.
I was working on a vote tally when khaan put his up and I don't want my work to go to waste, so here is mine. Two things though. 1.) Andres is not playing and the vote towards him doesn't count. 2.) I was confused by the whole strawberry thing. Please use people's screen names for the sake of us noobs. :beam:
Proletariat: 3 (Sasaki, Husar, Privateerkev)
GeneralHankerchief: 2 (Crazed Rabbit, BananaBob)
shlin28: 2 (woad&fangs, Gaius Scribonius Curio)
Sarathos: 2 (Beefy187, {BHC}AntiWarmanCake88)
Gaius Sribonius Curio: 1 (TinCow)
00jebus: 1 (GeneralHankerchief)
Privateerkev: 1 (pevergreen)
Beefy187: 1 (Tiberius of the Drake)
Sasaki: 1 (LittleGrizzly)
{BHC}AntiWarmanCake88: 1 (Caius)
Glenn: 1 (KukriKhan)
Tratorix: 1 (Rythmic)
pevergreen: 1 (Tratorix)
Ichigo: 1 (makaikhaan)
Abstain: 2 (The Stranger, shlin28)
Right, like I said, I probably am in need of some sleep right now. And for the "noobs", Strawberry=Ichigo, at least so goes the pun from the show. Hence, I tend to use it in an opening spam vote against Ichigo sometimes. However, I'll keep my vote on him for the time being, because I'm very curious as to his quietness. He didn't even open the game with his customary "vote:sasaki" like he always does. Hence, I'm rather curious as to what he's up to.Quote:

Rereading the thread again.. Although there really isn't a great deal of information, I admit.
And I would also like to retract my suspicions of Tiberius, I thought two others had already voted for Beefy further back - I was wrong - and his small participation can give me no reason for suspicion.
Oh, and Gaius - I am not as zealous as some - see Kommodus or Ajaxfetish for reference!
But I do find it very, very telling to going into a player's profile and reveal all previous posts in one column.
Although nobody listened to me, I discovered about three Mafiosos in Capo, including Joe Monks, (If I remember the name correctly), using that simple method.
Anyway - I will return later - and no, no vote as of yet, but that is reasonable I think.
That's not what she was implying at all. She was referring to what I understand to be normal policy in these games: if a role blocker blocks someone who wasn't doing anything in the first place, the target isn't usually informed of the fact that they were blocked. It's perfectly acceptable for Andres to do it, it does seems out of the ordinary so it draws some attention. In any case, even if saying that was somehow suspicious, I'm the one who brought it up first.Quote:

Privateer:
The reason for the votes is simple -- people don't realy put a lot of effort into their responses until they think they're likely to get the chop. THEN you get details, passion, statements etc.
Early on this means little, as their is no means of cross checking against subsequent posting claims, votes, etc. But unless you ramp up the pressure and force discussion, Mafiosi get to make nice little unexplained "abstain" votes while sharpening their stilettos for the next night.
You gotta make 'em sweat a bit.
I didn't imply that, I said that. It was a comment about the game rules, don't read too much into it. I get some veteran status because I've played alot, not because I'm a brilliant analyzer or liar. Post your role PM, Priva. I'll show you mine if you show me yours. :beam:Quote:

OMGUS.
You know, I thought it was a wild accusation - but Pevergreen in total truth does not contribute anything of intellectual note to these games.
He simply tries to kill off his school buddies from Brisbane, and other people whom he has a grudge against since previous games.
Kev, I don't see anything substantial with this material you are hanging on Proletariat - although I think you are doing it in imitation of Sasaki's interrogation technique!
Very well done so far however!
By the way, GeneralHankerchief, what meant you - when you said you didn't like this?
In that there is not enough speech and reasoning? Too much spam?
Thank you. It helps to watch good players...Quote:
